Frequency Modulation circuit simulation in Multisim Using 566.

How can I get Frequency Modulation circuit simulation in Multisim Using 566? In Multisim I dont have IC 566.. And I have attached the image of the circuit i want... I dont want to use FM signal source directly.

Hello,
This component is not available in Multisim; I tried to locate a SPICE model for LM566 with no luck. It seems that the component is obsolete now.
Take a look of this old forum post, it explains an alternate method to build the FM circuit.

Just an update for the community. In version 12 we have added a lot more components into the Electro_Mechancal family which can really enable users to further their testing abilities.
Co-Simulation is also a very revolutionary feature that has been added to Multisim to allow users to test a complete system by being able to test their circuits along side their LabVIEW code.

Frequency response of real analog filter using mydaq

Hello!
I am trying to find the frequency response of a analog filter using the NI myDAQ. There are several examples of this in Labview, but they are usually analyzing digital filters, not real world filters. There is one example, see attached vi, that simulates measuring a realworld signal using a simulated frequency generator and a simulated multimeter. I believe that this could be done for real using the mydaq.
Can someone please help me convert this VI to run off of the mydaq?

Thank you Kyle, this is exactly what I was looking for. I searched the examples that came with labview 2010, the signal processing module, the 8.6 DSP module and the signal anaysis toolkit, but I had not yet installed the elvis cd so I didn't run across these VIs. Thank you once again!

Executing bapi function module in simulation mode....

I wanted to create 5000+ users in the system. I am using bapi_user_create1 to create user.Before actually creating all the users i need to simulate and see how many users will be actually created when i supply the set . Also please let me know if there are any general way of calling function modules in simulation mode without actually committing to database.

Labview Instrument: how to set some parameters back to default after restarting the simulation (in Multisim)?

Hi everyone,
I wrote a Labview Instrument VI that I use later in my simulation in Multisim. The problem is, after stopping the simulation and restarting it again, some important parameters of the VI are not initialized again and therefore all my calculations in the Labview Instrument file are messed up.
Is there any option to set the params back to their default values after the simulation has been restarted?
Has that something to do with Serialize/Deserialize Data in the VI?

Where is the data held inside the LabVIEW code (local variables, uninitialized shift registers, etc.)?

1. How to measure a resistor? The Impedometer.llb in lvinstruments folder made me confusing.
2.how to measure the current? I can measure the voltage but I dont know how to measure the current.
3.What's the meaning of "instrument version" in every _multisimInformation.vi, whether I can modify it?

A question for you: your multimeter will acquire real data (using a data acquisition board) ? or, is it just for simulation (like the Multimeter included in Multisim)?
The Impedometer.llb is a library that contains all the files for the Impedance Meter instrument in Multisim. As stated in the template, the instrument version constant is an internal reference that must not be modified.

Frequency Modulation for Tuning Forks on FPGA

Hi,
I am relatively new LabVIEW and FPGA user. I am trying create frequency modulation on the FPGA to maintain a 90 degree phase shift between the input and output signals. Currently, I am having trouble in trying to calculate the phase difference between two analog signals. The two analog signals are coming from analog inputs on the FPGA card. At the end of frequency modulation, there is a VCO that will output a signal that is shifted 90 degrees relative to the input signal. That output signal will drive the tuning fork at resonance. I am not familiar with the FPGA card and LabVIEW so it would be very helpful if someone could tell me how to calculate the phase difference between two analog signals.

Below are a few links to examples of how to calculate the phase difference of two analog signals. Both examples show how to do this on a real-time or windows operating system, rather than on the FPGA itself since the functions used cannot be run on the FPGA.

Help Creating Pulse Frequency Modulated Signal

I'm trying to create a Pulse Frequency Modulated Signal ... I have seen the examples showing how to create a frequency modulated sine wave (using the function generator example, I believe) but am not sure where to look next.
Any suggestions?
For some context, this would be used to simulate the signals similar to those found traveling through/ transmitted through a nervous system.

You can generate ECG signals using the Biosignal Generator by changing the Signal type in the pull-down menu. Take a look at this description.

Stepped Frequency Modulation on USRP

I'm working on an application that uses a stepped frequency modulation, where the system dwells on a single frequency for a specified amount of time, collects data at that frequency, and then moves onto the next frequency and repeats the process. Our current hardware was a good proof-of-concept, but the dwell times are too long for the application, so we are moving over to the USRP.
We need to have the transmitter and receiver synchronized as they step through the frequencies together. So when the transmitter is sending a signal at frequency 1, the receiver should also be operating at frequency 1 so that our data is collected correctly.
We're currently considering two options:
use a single USRP as both the transmitter and receiver
use two USRPs synchronized together with the MIMO cable as an independent transmitter and receiver
Option 2 came up because of concerns about crosstalk seen in some previous experiments using a single USRP to transmit and receiver.
Does anyone have any information as to which approach might be better?

Thanks for the insight on the crosstalk issue.
A more important issue is the timing between changing the TX and RX frequencies in software. Ideally, this should be done simultaneously. Is this something that we could do on a single USRP?
If the TX and RX frequencies cannot be changed simultaneously, is there any guarantee of having a fixed delay between changing the TX and RX frequencies? We could probably tolerate a fixed delay, for example by ignoring the data collected in the first and last X points at each frequency.

Frequency Modulation trick. How to solve?

I have a VI which does Frequency modulation using two formula nodes. One node is for Message signal generation and second formula node - is for resulting FM generation. Observing FM equations, the function inside FM equations - should be instegrated and FM is like:
FM(t) = A*cos(2*pi*Fc + 2*pi*D* Integral( M(t) );
, where A - amplitude; pi - 3.14; Fc - Carrier frequency, M(t) - message signal; D - frequency deviation.
Thats why I use external Integration, then pass integrated signal into FM equation.
The problem is - Signal has very low voltage (amplitude) after integration - and the whole thing doesn't work anymore.
Should I multiply integrated signal until it be the same amplitude as the original signal?
What might I did incorrect here?

I have created a Polymorphic VI "FM Generation". This VI Generates Frequency Modulated signal output according to wired Message signal. FM Generation VI accepts two types of Message signal input - Waveform or Array. If you wire an array for Message intput - you also need to wire "Sampling Frequency" input. Now every one can place this polymorphic function on their Block-Diagram palette and use it.
Note: You should place on a block diagram VI called "FM Generation.vi", two other files "FM Generation (array).vi" and "FM Generation (waveform).vi" are function instances that are responsible either for Waveform input or Array input.
This function is designed for LabView 7.1 or higher.

Developing adapter modules for PI 7.0 using NWDS 7.3

Hello all,
Did someone have already developed adapter modules for PI 7.0 using NWDS 7.3? I can´t find the EJB libraries for Java 1.4.
I'm able to develop mapping programs, but I'm not sure if it is possible to create EJB projects.

I haven't tried developing adapter modules in NWDS 7.3 for PI 7.0 myself, but according to the documentation from SAP it is possible to develop J2EE 1.4 compliant applications i.e. EJB 2.1 components, which is used by SAP PI 7.0.

Because of this backwards-compatibility I would expect that the EJB libraries for J2EE 1.4 should be available directly in NWDS 7.3 somewhere.

Function module to read the expired useful life of asset

Hi,
Is there a function module to read the expired useful life of asset. We are using the depriciation start date to calculate the expired useful life of asset, but the fiscal year shift and matching the calendar year with fiscal is causing the logic to give a month difference between the calculated value and the value in the asset.
Please let me know if there is a Function module or BAPI for getting the values. Kindly provide example for the function module call too.
