Front row is cool on my laptop, how do i get it on my mac pro?

????
Can I not download and install it - even without a remote (I have a keyspan remote, too bad that couldn't interface with it).
Cool feature, but I'm usually farther away from my 30" display & Mac Pro than my laptop, so it's kind of wierd it's on the laptop rather than the desktop systems.
Thanks

Mike try this

Be sure to follow the instructions to the full, and as always back up before trying. Good luck. Pob

  • How do I get 4 monitors on Mac Pro?

I've got a MacPro with the following specs:
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
    Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed: 3.32 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
    L3 Cache: 8 MB
    Memory: 8 GB
    Boot ROM Version: MP41.0081.B07
    SMC Version (system): 1.39f5
    SMC Version (processor tray): 1.39f5
Right now there are two Apple displays connected (Cinema HD 1920x1200), each one plugged into the wide connector on one of the two video cards in the machine. The cards are the NVIDIA GeForce GT120, GPU, in Slot-1 and Slot 2. The smaller (display connector?) plug on each card is empty.
I'd like to add two more monitors (like Dell 1680x1250 LCDs). Can I do this right now, with additional cards, or never? What do I need to do to get 2 more added? Can they be placed (virtually, in Monitor Arrangement) two on top of two others?

Some users have reported that the use of the MiniDisplayport adapter requires excessive force to seat properly, as there are a lot of contacts, and the adapter feels 'snug" way before it is making a good connection. Apple more force. Insert and remove several times until you are confident that is completely seated.
I'm pretty sure I shoved it in as far as it will go... I tried something else: I attached this monitor to the regular connector on that same card (the wide one with pins) and that worked fine, so I know it's not the monitor. I then attached the Apple monitor's port to the MiniDisplayport adapter and that didn't turn on either, so I'm pretty sure it's the adapter, or the cards (both?), or perhaps the cable - does that matter?

  • How do I get back into my Mac Pro?

My passwords to my Mac appear to have been changed and I can't log into it. Here's my suspicion: last week, I lost my iTouch, and -- if it's possible -- the finder has gotten into my Mac through my firewall; the person left a Master password hint "EX found this," which I don't recognize, and also seems a hint. I've tried lots of combinations of Apple, itouch, ipod, etc.,without luck.
Can this be done? And what do I do now?

Unless you had your Mac passwords stored in clear text on your iPod touch and also had one of the VNC applications so that someone could have taken control of your Mac, it's highly unlikely someone could have used your iPod to hack into your system. But I'll never say anything is impossible.
Anyway, boot your Mac from the Mac OS X installer disk and from the Utilities menu choose "Reset Password" and follow the instructions.
Once you can get into your Mac, I would strongly suggest you immediately back up all of your documents, music, etc., then erase the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS X, your application and data. If someone has managed to hack into your Mac, there's no way of telling what sort of keylogger or other exploit they might have installed that might be able to capture other passwords and such and send them to the hacker.

I had a iPod befor it was on my moms laptop and know I got a iPhone and my own laptop how do I get my iTunes account on my laptop so I can hook my phone to my laptop on the same account as my iPod

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You first need to sign into the account in iTunes on your laptop, then you need to transfer the content from your moms laptop and import it into iTunes on yours. You can do this in a number of ways, either over a network, with an external drive, or even a USB stick.
If you go to iTunes preferences > advanced on your moms laptop, it will tell you where the original files can be found.

And my iTunes sign in is also screwed up... It is underneath my friends email (the one with my backed up data on his Mac laptop) HOW DO I CHANGE THIS SO THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD APP's again...

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone.  Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

If you downloaded it from the app store on your computer's iTunes then connect your iPhone to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and then use the Apps tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select and sync that app to the phone.
If you downloaded it somewhere else then you won't be able to copy it to your phone - only iTunes apps work on iOS devices, PC and Mac software aren't compatible with them.

You can't get around it. It must be restore using iTunes on a computer. If you don't have access to one, make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store.

Copy everything from your old comptuer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, and you do not have access to your old computer, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I have purchased word for my laptop how do I get it on my desktop

I have purched the the Windows word, power point and excel for the mac.  It is on my Laptop-how do I get these programs running on my desktop also.

You will need to install them on your desktop system the same way you installed them on your laptop, presuming your laptop is also a Mac. If your laptop is a Windows system, then you'll need to run Windows on your desktop system as well either via Boot Camp or one of the virtualization solutions.
Note that you will need to confirm that your license for Office allows you to install a single copy on multiple computers. Otherwise you'll have to purchase another copy of Office.
    Regards.

  • How do I get iMessage on my Mac and iPad Mini to send from my phone number instead of email?

How do I get iMessage on my Mac and iPad Mini to send from my phone number instead of email? I've signed out and signed backed in on all devices but it still doesn't work. Phone number shows up on my iPhone only. Apple support article does not help, the screen don't even match mine.

    Hi believer924,
Happy Holidays!  What version of Mac OS are you working with?  The article below will explain how to confirm your phone number is linked to your Apple ID for iMessage.  On your Mac, you should be able to remove the checkmark in front of your email address in the "You can be reached by iMessage at" and "Start New Conversations from" sections of iMessage settings.
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201349
Your iPhone telephone number is linked to your Apple ID when you sign in to FaceTime or iMessage. This allows you to use your iPhone number with FaceTime and iMessage on other iOS devices.
This feature isn't available on iPod touch (3rd generation) and iPad (1st generation).
This feature is available with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later.
On OS X, find out which addresses are enabled:
In Messages, choose Messages > Preferences > Accounts. Select iMessage in the left column. Your contact preferences should appear under "You can be reached for messages at:."
    OS X:
Phone number missing on OS X
If your phone number isn't listed on your Mac, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of OS X on your Mac.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
Sign out of your Apple ID at these locations on your Mac:
Messages > Preferences > Accounts tab. Click iMessage in the left column, then click Sign Out.
FaceTime > Preferences. Select your Apple ID, then click Sign Out.
Close FaceTime and Messages on your Mac.
Open FaceTime and Messages, then sign in to your Apple ID in Preferences.
If your phone number still isn't listed on your Mac, follow these steps:
Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, including your iPhone, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign out of your Apple ID on your Mac at the following locations:
Messages > Preferences > Accounts tab. Click iMessage in the left column, then click Sign Out.
FaceTime > Preferences. Select your Apple ID, then click Sign Out.
Close FaceTime and Messages on your Mac.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and also in Settings > FaceTime.
Open FaceTime and iMessage, then sign in to your Apple ID in Preferences.
