Frozen process on report server after killing user process

Hi,
I've following problem. When user kill request(user process on PC) on creating report during process
(PDF file, report server 10g), the process on OAS stay frozen and nobody is able to create own report. When we use for creating report(PDF) Adobe destiller it was OK, but in this time we use options in ORACLE Report for creating PDF

  • Crystal Report Server 2008 Named User License

    Hi,
Where can I find pricing info for Crystal Report Server 2008 Named User License?
This is for an existing Crystal Report 2008 Server installation, which was initially licensed with CAL. The user would now like to add dedicated NUL clients.
I found the following in the online store, but that includes a server license, which is not required in this case.

  • Configuring Report Server after DNS change

    Hello everyone,
I am encountering the following problem:
We have a Sharepoint 2013 server with Reporting Service integrated mode. Everything went fine. Now I have changed the DNS in the alternate access mapping. After that, when users want to create a new report (over the new URL) by opening Report Builder in Sharepoint

  • SSRS Report loads faster on the reporting server compared to user's browser

If I run the same report from the same URL for my SSRS report it runs faster on the reporting server's IE compared to the user's IE.
If I run it in the reporting server's IE it takes 3 seconds and in my browser it takes 10 secs.
Is there a way to speed up loading the report on my IE?

    Hi curiousnoob,
As per my understanding, when we run a report outside the report server, it spends more time compare to the report server can be caused by the following reasons:
We should connect to report server, then retrieve data from data sources for the report. This should spend some time when we run a report outside the report server.
The different IE browsers on those two servers.
Net Speed can also cause this issue.
So if we want to speed up loading the report, we can refer to the last two reasons.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to automatically save a report locally after a user has ran the report

    Hi All,
I am currently working on a report where part of the the requirement is as follows:
--> report is to output into t CSV file that will be used later on.
--> report will need to write the CSV file into a defaulted location eg "C:\mydirectory\my_reports"
Therefore, the the user runs the report, it will automatically save into this directory instead of have to select the Export option on the report and save it to the required directory.
I am aware that bursting enables this feature and will save the file into a directory, however, I cannot find a solution that allows this automatic saving of reports to a specified directory.
Has anyone done this before or is it even possible?
    Cheers,
    Jonas

In SAPMMC we looked at the system log and saw the error "SAP Basis

We tried restarting the whole server but to no effect.

since your OS is Windows try following in command at prompt
    C:>netstat -a
    or
    C:>netstat -an
one of the above will work in NT, the list shows the listening (Open) ports and ESTABLISHED (used)..check for the 8000 which is your HTTP port.
Also in SAP check the t-code "SMICM" and then goto services and see the HTTP services running without error or not?
Hint: Port names are defined in services file located at C:\WINDOWS\systemXX\drivers\etc\services  file..

  • PFRD 11.1.1.4 - How to stop the In-process Reports Server

I'm running an "out-of-the-box" PFRD 11.1.1.4 installation in Windows XP SP3.
    According with documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/bi.1111/b32121/pbr_strt006.htm#BEHDJFHD
To directly start or stop the in-process Reports Server using a URL, enter the following in your Web browser:
    http://machine_name:port/reports/rwservlet/startserver
    http://machine_name:port/reports/rwservlet/stopserver
    startserver works.
    stopserver returns:
    REP-50171 : Authentication failed.
    Tried
    http://machine_name:port/reports/rwservlet/stopserver?authid=weblogic/passwd
    same error.
    Commented the line:
    <!--security class="oracle.reports.server.RWJAZNSecurity" id="rwJaznSec"/-->
    in rwserver.conf.
    Same error.
The only uncomented elements in "rwservlet.properties" (original configuration) are
    <server>rep_wls_reports_pfurtado-lap_asinst_1</server>
    <singlesignon>no</singlesignon>
    <inprocess>yes</inprocess>
Did any of you managed to stop "in-process" reports server using the reports servlet?
    What credentials did you use?
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Paulo

    Thanks RZ!
The line you mentioned was already as you described.
    According with the documentation:
    [Starting and Stopping Reports Server|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/bi.1111/b32121/pbr_strt001.htm#i1005629]
If Reports Server is running as an in-process server through the Reports Servlet, issue the following URL:
    http://your_host_name:port_number/reports/rwservlet/stopserver?authid=admin user/admin password
    Note:
authid is Reports Server's administration user name and password. In Oracle Reports 11g Release 1 (11.1.1), the default security is based on standards-based Java EE security model through Oracle Platform Security Services. For a non-secure Reports Server, this user is defined in the identifier element.
I added the identifier element to rwserver.conf and restarted WLS_REPORTS, but after this the in-process reports server failed to start with the usual generic exception.
I finally found the missing step in:
How To Secure Showjobs Web Command In A Non Secured Reports Server In Oracle Report 11g? (Doc ID 1242614.1)
The thing is that the identifier element has to be placed in the right location inside rwserver.conf:
    The needed change is:
    FROM
    <queue maxQueueSize="1000"/>
    <pluginParam name="mailServer" value="%MAILSERVER_NAME%"/>
    TO
    <queue maxQueueSize="1000"/>
    <identifier encrypted="no">....type here your user/password....</identifier>
    <pluginParam name="mailServer" value="%MAILSERVER_NAME%"/>
So although using the default non-secure reports server, the identifier element has to be present in rwserver.conf for rwservlet/stopserver to work as described above.
Otherwise the needed authentication will fail as described.
    Regards
    Paulo

  • How to close report Server?

Is it possible to shut down report-server after closing the Form which started report-server?

Unfortunately, the report designer figures that there has been a change to the report, so it wants to save it. There is nothing you can do in the add-in, or else where to change that. Other than killing the crw32.exe process in the add-in after the add-in saves the report (yuck).

  • Generating a PDF and then Email it from the report server.....

    All,
This is my first post on this forum and I have the following question.....
Please note I am not a DB expert nor a reporting expert but I have done my fair share of reporting using Oracle DB with Oracle Reports or Hyperion.
I have a report that will be posted to the report server that a user can go out and run at there convenience.
As a side note we have recently migrated our Database from ORACLE 8i to 10G and the report was created using Oracle ReportBuilder 10.1.
This report was also mimicked by a Oracle package and emailed out through I believe some PL SQL(?). This is a plain text report in the email.
As I recently did some big changes to the Original report they want this email report to match as well.
Well After looking at what they want in the email its basically the exact same thing as the version the user would see on the web. This seems like a waste of time for myself to edit this Package (For the email report - plaint text) and to have a oracle report available on the web server not to mention the DB dealing with the PLSQL..
So I am asking is there a way to set up Oracle reports to mail a generated PDF or a HTML results file out from the reporting server at a specified time?
If so how is this accomplished?
I see that in the help file in Report Builder that you can set rwbuilder.conf file with the SMTP server but how do I set the email address and the time to run the report.
    Thanks for all the help,
    Chris

    Hello,
Maybe I am not understanding something but we have a reporting server where they basically select the report in a drop down web control and they fill in the necessary parameters and then the report is ran.
The web links refer to report builder and how to email from it. I am in a web environment that they select the report and its ran. Is this web form a standard product with Oracle for reporting?
I have seen how to do accomplish my task from the command line. Is this another way of accomplishing this task?
I think what I am also looking for is a confirmation that what I want to do is possible and that someone has accomplished this task before.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Label Printing issues on Crystal Reports Server

I built a label that prints off beautifully on my local machine with Crystal XI installed. However, when I post the label to the reports server, and a user tries to print it off, it prints off two blank labels behind each good label. I have racked my brain on this for days. The printer settings are identical to my local machine. Any idea what might be causing this?

I think the following information might help you
    Symptom
A label report was viewed over the web using the Web Component Server, and printed on a label maker printer DYMO 330. The labels were being resized to 8 1/2 x 11 instead of printing the size of the label. Even after selecting the correct size, the labels print one per page, followed by 3 blank labels.
When printing was done through a distributed report or the report designer, the labels printed to the correct size and only printed one label with no blank labels.
What is causing the label report to print incorrectly when printed from the web viewer?
    Resolution
    Steps to Resolve
    1. Open the report in the Crystal Reports 8 designer on the web server.
    2. Click on 'File' then click 'Printer Setup'. If a printer is already selected then set it to 'No Printer', click 'OK', then save the report.
    3. Click on 'File' then click 'Printer Setup' again. Select the default printer and clear the 'Default Properties' checkbox.
    4. Click 'OK' and save the report.
    5. Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Services and double click 'Seagate Page Server' service. Set this service to run under an 'Administrator' account.
    6. Stop and restart the service, and close down all browsers.
The label reports now will print successfully over the web.
    Background
Incorrect printing from a web viewer can have several causes, including:
    · The report is designed with a designated printer, but the encapsulated page format (EPF) files are being created in 'No Printer' mode.
    · The server does not have access to the printer.
    · A valid printer is not saved with the report on the server.
    · The printer driver is not installed on the server.

  • When Starting OC4J, why the report server doesn't start automatically? !!

    Dear All,
I have DS 10g on my system and I start the OC4J when I have to run either forms or reports.
But when I attend to start the do the following command from the form:
WEB.SHOWDOCUMENT(..../getjobid<jobid>?server=<servername>...), I have an error: FRM-41213: Unable to connect to the report server <servername>.
I noticed that if I run the following URL:http://<server>:.../reports/rwservlet, it gives me a list of command, but the server still not running..But if I add any command to the above URL like for example "getserverinfo" or "showjobs" then the server is started. Now, and after the command, if we return back and we run the report from the form, the report will run successfully.
    The question WHY??

  • Report 11gR1: multiple standalone Reports Server for one domain

    Hi all,
In Oracle Froms, Report (11.1.1.6.0) environment is necessary to create more than one standalon Reports Server (iAS instances).
1- How can we create multiple Reports Server (insatances) in same domain?
2- How can use pro Reportsserver multiple engines (e.g. more than 3 engines)?
    Regards,
    Moh

    Hi Moh,
Out of the box in 11g you get 1 standalone reports server (you can see this one via opmnctl status) and 1 in-process reports server than runs inside WLS_REPORTS managed server.
You can create more standalone reports servers for your instance. Please follow the following support note
    Reference
How Do You Create And Start Up A Standalone Reports Server In 11g R1 & R2? (Doc ID 961174.1)
Regarding how to increase reports engines for each of your reports server you need to go to the Enterprise Manager console and select each of the reports servers you have and go to Reports --> Administration --> Basic menu and
change " Maximum Engines" property for the value you need. You will need to re-start your Reports server after this.
    Hope this helps, Roberto

    Atul LaL

    Hi Atul,
Based on my research, this issue can be caused by Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint not installed on the Report Server. If in this scenario, please try to install it.
The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in provides a set of features that enable you to run a report server. And It is installed through a Setup program that you run at a command prompt on a server that has an instance of the SharePoint product
or technology you want to use.
For more details, please see the following documents:

  • I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports

    Hi,
I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports. The name of the application we use is called MAMA and this application has access to all the reports on the SQL report server. My email is
[email protected] my cell phone number is 201-888-7952.
    Thanks.

    Hi Roger,
Based on my understanding, you publish a report on the report server. When you access reports with internal application, the report doesn’t display, right?
In your scenario, since you mentioned you have published the report to report server, please go to report manager, check if you can see the published report and open the report properly. If the published report is displayed on report manager, it should not
be the issue in Reporting Services. In this scenario, since the MAMA application has established connection with on report server, it may not update items on report server after you publish your report onto report server. So please try to “refresh” in MAMA
or reconnect the report server. If issue persists, I suggest you contact the MAMA application vendor to get some more effective advices.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best regards,

  • Question about 'user process' in the context of Oracle

The following is an except from oracle documentation.
    Overview of User Processes
When a user runs an application program (such as a Pro*C program) or an Oracle tool (such as
Enterprise Manager or SQL*Plus), Oracle creates a user process to run the user's application.http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/process.htm
As my understand, an user process is a piece of software that can connect to an oracle server. You (the user) can start a piece of this kind of software, then connect to oracle. If so, why Oracle creates a user process to run the user's application?
    Thanks.
Edited by: Yang Shuai on Jul 6, 2011 10:20 AM

Hi. I would suggest reading the 11.2 Concepts manual: it is much improved:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16508/process.htm
This text is trying to say that the application starts a client process that can connect to the database. The database manages server processes and background processes; the application runs the client process.
