Full program pared down to parts - ideas to proceed...

I am hoping to receive some tips on how to do this. I just completed a 30-minute brown bag video. It has an intro graphic and some low-rent music, then goes on to cut between the live speaker and graphics.
It will be posted on our YouTube channel and broken up into 3 10-minute parts to meet YTV's policy. I've made copies of the 30-minute sequence, re-named each to part 1, 2, and 3. In part 1, I just deleted everything after the 10-minute mark. In parts 2 and 3, I will add a new intro graphic [saying part 2 and 3], then delete all pieces on the timeline of the part 1 section up to each part 2 and 3, and then render all 3 for upload.
So my question is - and I'm sure others have had to deal with this kind of thing - does anyone have an alternative (e.g., better) way to do this? Or is this pretty much how it's done?

Remind me, what version of PrPro are you using?
If PrPro 1.0, or later, I would do this with individual Sequences, in the same Project.
Sequence 01 would be my whole Project, and I would Rename that to "Master, or similar." When done, I would create three new Sequences 01, 02 and 03, for my individual parts. Next, I would create my Title, say "Part 1," name that Title "Intro_01," and drag that to Sequence 01. With that Title in Titler, I would go to the Based On Existing Title icon, and click it, naming the new Title something like "Intro_02." There, change the Text to "Part 02." Drag to the beginning of Sequence 02. Repeat for Sequence 03. [The exact order of this operation could be different, where you wiould create Intro_01, then use the Based On... icon for Intro_02 and Intro_03. Then just drag those Titles from the Project Panel to the respective Timeline. It depends on how you like to work.]
Now, you three segmented Sequences are set up with their Titles. Go back to the first Sequence, Master, and Select the material for Part 01, and Copy. Go to Sequence 01, and Paste that, right after your Title. Repeat this process for the other two parts. Add any Transitions, etc., check things over carefully, and then Export each Sequence for YouTube.

Hi, my program is really big, and when I run it and obverserve the program on the front panel, I cannot drag the window to see the other parts. Also, I tried the method like hold control, then press + to zoom in or press - to zoom out. However, labview seems doesnt have this function. Does anyone know how I can see the full program then it is running, maybe zoom out or drag the windows? thanks!

You should use a Tab control. Group your front panel objects together and put the grouped items in tabs. Then you can select the Tab you want to display while the program is running.
It is never a good idea to make your screen too big to fit on one display. This goes for the block diagram also. If you have to scroll to see it all, use more subvi's. Make it modular. A state machine is a good way to put a lot of code on one display screen.

Help! While editing a photo in CS3 the program shut down and will not reopen my psd file.

Help! While editing a photo in CS3 the program shut down and will not reopen my psd file. The error message reads "cannot complete your request because of a program error" -- it is a very large file (I have been saving it all along) and I had just "flattened layers" and went to open up a new, blank photo file when it shut down. Is there anyway to get this file to open? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (p.s. after reading a couple of similar threads, I have a feeling it's hopeless. But I'd also like to know WHY this might have happened!) Thanks in advance!

I am using Photoshop CS3. It seems that I can work on photos and save them. But I am unable to open them back up. I have tried saving the files as psd and tiff with the same result. The error message is: "cannot complete your request because of a program error"
The interesting thing is that I can open up InDesign and "place" the psd file within InDesign (then export and save as a jpeg). So I don't think the files are necessarily corrupted. I uninstalled Photoshop and reinstalled it last night, but there's no change.
If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Or, should I repost my question with this more complete info? Thank you!

Please confirm if you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer and that you are running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges or Run As Administrator. If you are and still have the problem, then please read on:
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11?
What are the properties of what you have put on the Expert view Timeline of the project...video and audio compression, frame size, frame rate, aspect ratio, file extension, duration....?
What have you or the project set as the project preset for this project? Does it match the properties of your source media? If you are not sure of the project settings, please tell us what it says for Edit Menu/Project Settings/General Editing Mode, Timebase, and Frame Size.
How do you have your Scratch Disks set up (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks.) Are they directed to a hard drive save location with enough free space to accept them? Is your computer optimized..defragmented, no pile ups of preview files and conformed audio and video.
What were your export settings...please confirm:

PAL DVD Standard
If that is correct, did you change any of the settings under the Advanced Button of the preset?

Have tried may settings changes, new projects old projects, new clips etc etc but its the same every time. Any ideas what has gone wrong? Its been running perfect for last 4 years. Is it worth reinstalling CS5 and would I have to reinstall Matrox also?

Got exact same problem, was told to delete all old apple, quick time and bonjoir from computer then it would work. I use a programme called malware bytes and this takes everthing out of your computer right down to the roots but unfortunately I still have same problem

How can I Recover an iMovie project after the program shuts down unexpectedly?

I was working on an iMovie when the program shut down unexpectedly. I had worked on this project many times before and it always showed up in my project library. After the shutdown, however, I tried to open up the project and it is no longer in the project library. I can find it in the finder but when I click on it, it will open iMovie but the project is not listed. It has to be in there somewhere! How can I recover it? Please hlep!

The recent update to iMovie '11 (to version 9.0.9) may have fixed this, but it's impracticable to test, given the random nature of the problem.
The best solution is to always have Time Machine running when editing in iMovie. Also, with larger projects, it's a good idea to duplicate the project from time to time. To duplicate, while in Project Library view (where all your projects are listed), select File > Duplicate Project. Project files are relatively small, as they mainly reference the associated Event (or Events), as well as keeping track of your edits, titles, transitions, music and so forth.

PROGRAM SLOWS DOWN WHEN IT ENTERS A CASE STRUCTURE

OK so here is the problem i am making this pid controller the output range is 0-100 in this program i am just trying to get it to work so i did a compair function whereby when the controller output is 0 and the constant is 0 i start a case loop which will turn the output on for one second and off for one second . when i enter the case structure the rest of my program slows down
i have no idea why , i have tried to make a while loop and a case structure outside my main loop but i cannot get my signal from my compair statement to enter the second loop where i get my output to cycle in 1second intervals

The next thing you need to learn about LabVIEW is dataflow. This is the fundamental paradigm of LV and will explain your slow down issues.
The basic dataflow concept is that any node (node = function, subVI, structure) can begin to execute when data is present on all its inputs and that no data will be present at its outputs until the node comopletes execution.
How does this affect your VI? The true case has a 1000 ms Wait (actually two, one in each case of the inner case structure = redundant code). The case structure will not complete execution until the wait completes. And, the while loop does not complete its iteration until the case structure completes. The result: When the PID.vi output = 0, the loop will run at 1 second per iteration.
What is the fix? Continue running the loop at 100 ms intervals. Keep a count in the case structure (true case) and another shift register of how many 100 ms intervals have passed. When the count reaches ten, toggle the output line. Do not use the 1000 ms Wait.
All the code in your inner case structure is unnecessary. Wire the Remainder output directly to the Arduino Digital Write VI.
Be careful with the comparison to zero with floating point data. If the calculation which produces the data has round off errors you might get a value like 0.573E-15, but that is not equal to zero. It is better to compare to a small range of values above and below zero.
Right to left wiring is much easier to follow when trying to understand what a program does. Using the Clean Up tool occasionally will help (although it will eventually frustrate you also).

Contact Rhapsody to see if they have or plan to release an update for the app. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

Western Digital USB3 external hard drive (attached to new MBP Retina) seems to randomly "eject" itself when I'm trying to back it up via time machine. When this happens, I can't even shut my machine down properly. Ideas?

The backup process will run for sometimes 30 minutes or more. But, it's as if, at some point, the drive just can't be found. I get the message "this drive was ejected improperly". When this happens: my machine won't shut down, disk utility won't run. I have to press and hold the power button to force a shut down. Any ideas what's going on here? A MBP Retina issue? A USB3 issue? A western digital issue (although this drive has been functioning fine on old MBP)?

When you say that you've applied the latest 'patch,' I'm assuming that you mean the latest (July 18) software update for mid-2012 models? It was supposed to address some of the problems with the USB 3.0 ports. I don't think that, in most cases, it's a problem with the drives themselves (USB 2 or 3), rather it seems to be a port problem.
If it wasn't fixed for you using the July 18 Software Update the only thing I can recommend at this point is to see if Mountain Lion - soon to be released - will be able to fix the problems. If not, I would take your unit back to the Apple Store and let them know that you are continuing to have problems with the USB 3.0 ports. They may offer to switch out your logic board, etc.

In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.
