Full-scale Men's, waist 34, pants pattern prints to miniature scale.

My HP430 DesignJet plotter was plotting online patterns--www.patternsbycomputer.com-- at full scale up to early May. Now the patterns print out in miniature. Ive not changed plotting procedure: Step 1: File-->Print Preview-->Page Setup: select 100% (unclick Shrink to Fit). Close print preview--Step 2: Browser Print-->Select 430 plotter-->more size: custom: 24"wide x 55" long. Select 24"roll media. OK. Print. I get a tiny version of the pants--about 1/2 inch x 1-inch size--instead of a 100% scale.

Maybe the problem is unique to your PC / plotter. Have you tested it from a different PC? Like maybe at a FedEx Office (used to named Kinkos) store? The main thing is, will it work for your customers.
In the Chicago area all but the smallest FedEx Office stores have HP plotters, which customers can print to from the rental computers terminals. Back in 2008 and 2009 - during the time they switched from being FedEx Kinkos to FedEx Office, the rental terminals in the FedEx stores had Firefox installed, but I don't know if they currently do. I haven't been in any of their stores since late 2009. Prior to that I spent 6 to 8 hours a week in 3 or 4 different stores as a vendor, before FedEx changed to in store
If you have a lot of FedEx stores nearby, the larger the store, the more helpful and knowledgeable the associates may be. The larger store managers oversee a cluster of smaller stores and those managers tend to transfer the better associates to the "hub" to handle the more complicated and larger jobs they get.
Make sure your pages validate to W3C specs. I realize the "square" page was thrown together as an example, but Firefox has gotten pickier with invalid code. But that shouldn't impact this type of problem with printing and the size of an svc image.<br />

  • My Canon MG8120 is printing in pink scale

    My printer was working fine.  In the middle of printing out a large photo it started printing in pink scale.  When i printed out the test sheet the cyan color did not print.  I removed the full cyan cartridge, swabbed the head with a q tip and replaced the catridge...still no change.  Help!

  • Cm1312nfi mfp on 32bit windows 7 - upgraded with full solution sw and can't scan from printer

    I have had a cm1312nfi mrp since 2009 that works fine but my HP Solution centre stopped giving me ink levels.
    I uninstalled the printer software and downloded the current full solution sw for 32 bit windows 7 from HP. The printer works but I did not 'get' HP solution centre back and so cannot scan from the printer.
    [I did download HP toolbox so I can see ink levels and can test the scan function which does work. However it does not have the ocr capabiltity which I had before and also it doesn't allow me to operate the scanner from the printer.]
    Can you help me either get HP solution Centre back and functioning on my computer or else suggest some other solution to my problem?

    Hi,
    The HP Solution Center is a software for inkjet printers as the HP Officejet product line, not for laserjet printers as the CM1312.
    You may find the Supplies status within the HPToolboxFX softwre by selecting Supplies:

  • HP officejet Pro 8000 Can't print when color cart is empty enven when printing in grey scale

    I do not use color in my printing.  Nonetheless when the printer says my color cartdridge is empty I can not print.  I spent a $100 on color cartdridge and never used them.  They now show empy and I can't print.  Is there a work around or should I just junk this printer.  Thanks for your help.
    Bob

    Hello Bobmcclammy,
    I can understand the frustration when the printer, in your case the Officejet Pro 8000, stops and tells you to change inks you are not even using. I too have fought with this in the past. Unfortunately, there is no "work around" for such an issue, at least that I have been able to find.
    Even when printing black text only, for example, a resume, the printer will be using a subtle amount of color as a base. Printhead maintenance also will chip away at the ink, this is to ensure the ink is not drying up within the print system. This information will explain more: Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers.
    What I have done in order to get the most out of the printer ink is, set the printer in a black only grey scale mode. This needs to be set in the printing preferences in the print driver installed on the computer.
    The inks will still need to be replaced, but it should help for the future.

  • How to set minimum and maximum X scale in the XY graph if i have a X scale time format ?

    Hi,
    i choose in the picture enclosed, a time format for the X scale of the XY Graph.
    The problem is that i am not able to set the minimum and maximum of the X scale: In fact the property nodes of the minimum and maxinum X scales ask for  double as input.
    But i need to set my minimum and maximum X scale to be a time (because I already set the X scale format to a time)
    Could u help me please ?

    please i have another problem:
    i put the XY Graph in a while loop with maximum and minimum Xscale as property nodes inputs.
    The problem is that when i make a zoom  i can just see the zoom for a little while and then (because of the while loop) the Xscale is updated.
    is there a method so that the Xscale be updated just when i change its value ?
    or Could u tell me how could i zoom properly ?

  • Printing from Explorer context menu prints in wrong scale

    Hi,
    I have a problem with a customer; when they right-click a PDF file and choose "Print" from Explorer context menu the actual printout is sometimes printed in the wrong scale, ie it looks zoomed. The same problem exists when printing PDF's from other applications as well, for example Outlook. If they print the same PDF one more time (by right-click-printing) the problem may resolve itself. Sometimes it's enough to print twice, other times they need to do it more times. The problem exists in several computers, which is why i want it to be a problem with some default-settings in Adobe Reader.
    What might cause this behavior ?

    So, 4 years have passed, and one would hope the problem solved itself in some update the last 4 years.
    However, it has not. (Well, actually it was fixed for a short while. Then it broke again:()
    I do have some fresh information that can help you devs at Adobe to maybe get closer to a solution.
    Just before christmas (nov 22) i was doing a new attempt to solve the problem.
    At the time Reader XI had been released, but not yet installed at the client. Crossing my fingers and praying to higher powers i downloaded XI and gave it a shot; and the problem actually went away! My theory was that finally some architectual change had been implemented; or parts of Reader had been rewritten for any reason. Anyhow, the problem was gone after nearly 4 years and both me and the client was happy!
    Today the client called again. The PDF-printouts are zoomed again. Worse than ever. Now, EVERY PDF that's printed was getting zoomed (if printed from another program.). When printing, Reader flashes by the screen; so i guess the app does something like "adobe.exe /print %temp%\whatever.pdf" or however it works.
    I immediately suspected that an update had been installed and broke the Reader again. This was the case. 11.0.06 had been auto-installed last week. After searching adobe site for 30 minutes i finally found the downloads required to get 11.0.05 installed and running again. *poof* problem gone. Every print is good.
    SOO..
    11.0.05 does not contain the bug that makes most printouts zoomed. (WORKS)
    11.0.06 contains the bug again. (DOES NOT WORK)
    So, whatever changes are in that update broke the Reader for the client again.
    ADOBE: Hope this gets u closer to a solution!
    PEOPLE: If you are experiencing the same problem as my client, please try my solution. It just might help you.
    ps. oh, and where u download older versions from adobe.com is
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
    Install order:
    - 11.0.01                AdbeRdr11000_mui_Std.zip
    - 11.0.04 patch      AdbeRdrUpd11004_MUI.msp
    - 11.0.05 patch      AdbeRdrSecUpd11005.msp
    Im not sure if installing Multilanguage/All Languages makes a difference.

  • Printer won't scale to paper size

    I have a HP Photosmart C6270.
    Recently I did a clean install on my computer and also reinstalled the printer as a network printer (instead of previously directly through USB.) I also updated all HP software.
    Regularly I receive PDF docs, some of which are formatted on pages bigger than I can print  (A4 is the standard I use) BUT despite selecting "Scale to paper size", the printer app (and subsequently the physical print), ignore this instruction and the document remains too big.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi @hazelbethe
    I believe if you remove the paper tray and reinstall it, the sensor will reset. If the issue persists, complete the steps in the following document; 'Paper Mismatch,' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error Message Displays When Printing.
    I hope this helps.

  • Printing Keynote presentation-scale to fit

    is there a way to print a keynote presentation to scale to fit different paper sizes? E.g. I have a 800 x 600 presentation and I want it to print to the maximum size on a tabloid page (same for 1024x720, 1920 x 1080, custom, etc). Ideally this would be handled directly out of keynote, but changing the percentage of output under page setup has NO effect...this seems so basic, there's got to be something simple I am missing.. can anyone help?
    btw: exporting to pdf only to then print seems like an extra step and creates a duplicate file I would rather not have to keep up to date with changes...
    anyone?

    Hi
    I am having the same problem but with larger poster size slides. I have ended up making PDFs from Keynote.

  • Working with 3D layers and camera only in miniature scales?

    I'm matching 3D layers in AE to footage shot with camera. When I try to work with this I seem to work with sizes that AE can't cope with. In real life a layer should be 20 meters away from the camera. When I try to set these settings it jumps back to about 12 meters. ALso the camera can't be offset more than about -12000 mm (12 meters). That's no good. After Effects seems to work with tiny sizes. (you can't use meters or even cm as units, just mm). When I look in top view in my windows everything is out of reach. can't find the camera, can't find the layers. So...of course it's me doing something wrong and AE should be set differently, but how?

    Working with footage from a camera and matching CGI gives us the possibility of adding the lens settings like filmsize, focal length and angle of view to the camera settings. That way we can mimic the camera in AE to the actual camera.Also using real life distances like the distance to a table can be used to create correct perspective, especially if something generated in AE changes from z depth. Therefor I use known sizes and distances. I'm happy After Effects lets me since it has the option of using milimeters. A small size, but still a true real world size. Using this kicks everything off the screen though. Scaling everything 10 times, so thinking a mm is actually a cm would make the real life sizes and camera settings unworkable I'd think. I can imagine I'm doing something wrong, but don't know what. It just doesn't seem right to me having to scale everything when real life sizes are used. What else are they there for?

  • Scaling sprite for printing doesn't scale content

    Need help with this one!
    I have a Flash docutment that is 950 x 650. I want to add a
    "print" button that will automatically scale it to fit uncropped on
    an 8.5" x 11" page (Landscape).
    Problem is, although the sprite DOES scale to fit the page,
    the content doesn't scale but rather just ends up being cropped.
    It's like my sprite is a window looking through to my image. I
    change the size of the window but the image behind it remains the
    same size.
    Here's the code:
    Thanks!
    Phalconheart

    I have found that I needed to add each sprite and textfield
    individually. I actually just created new instances of each element
    to add to my page sprite. ie.
    if stage has a square object and a circle objects:
    var square:Square = new Square();
    square.scaleX = .8;
    square.scaleY = .8;
    var circle:Circle = new Circle();
    circle.scaleX = .8;
    circle.scaleY = .8;
    printSprite.addChild(square);
    printSprite.addChild(circle);
    .... yada yada
    myPrintJob.addPage(printSprite, etc etc

  • Printing Not to Scale

    We are using Illustrator CS2 with a cadtools5 plug-in to draw scaled plans. Since upgrading to Leopard we have a problem with the final scale of our Epson print: it is off scale (close but not true). Anyone have similar experience?
    We have tried different preferences in illustrator and Epson dialogue boxes.
    Thanks

    You might have to update each application, including Leopard. Sounds like a print driver issue. Does Leopard ship with the latest Epson driver? How much of a deviation are we talking about? Is it off horizontally or vertically or both? If you can figure out the deviation factor, you could try equal or unequal scaling in Illustrator ( as a temporary workaround ), like 100% vertical, 100.5% horizontal ( hypothetical ). But, it just seems inexcusable that there is now a deviation at all. Unfornately, you'll probably have to upgrade the plug-in, update Illustrator, and update Leopard. Real productive, fun stuff.

  • Fabric pattern printing fingerprint like lines

    Hi all, Im printing a file that has multiple images within it. The file is a PDF created out of indesign. the images within indesign are PSD's and High Resolution. When printing this file  at work on a konica minolta bizhub, everything is fine. I take it to the professional printer and just 2 of the 12 images appear with what im going to call screen lines..? Im sure theres another name for it. Ive seen these lines before on the screen and if u zoom in they disappear. The image is doing this over a fine fabric pattern. I feel like its a problem when their printer is ripping the file...? or is it in the image and my printer doesnt have as much quality and misses these?
    This is very frustrating, Ive attached a file to show the effect thats printed on both my printer which is ok and theirs which isnt.

    try:
    Go to Image > Image Size (Image > Resize > Image Size in Elements) and resample to the desired image size and resolution using the bicubic resampling option.
    Make sure you are zoomed to 100% magnification.
    Go to Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask.
    Exact settings will depend on the image resolution, but these settings are a good starting point: Amount 50-100%, Radius 1-3 pixels, Threshold 1-5. Use your eye as the final judge.
    Tips:
    If you still see a pattern after applying the Median filter, try a slight gaussian blur before resampling. Apply just enough blur to reduce the pattern.
    If you notice halos or glows in the image after using Unsharp Mask, go to Edit > Fade. Use settings: 50% Opacity, Mode Luminosity. (Not available in Elements.)

    Since I use the Adobe PDF printer 7, all my RGB grayscale TIF photos from MS

    The settings in the used profiles are "don't change color photos / grayscale

  • Cannot print PSD without "scale to fit media" selected

    I am trying to print PSD sized slightly bigger than 8.5 x 11 on my Samsung laser jet printer. I have no problem printing documents sized under 8.5 x 11, but not anything larger. Photoshop does not prompt me that clipping may occur. The file doesn't get sent to my printer queue. I'm confused as to why this is.
    Any help?
    Christopher
    P.S. I'm using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1, everything is up to date, printer works fine everywhere else.

    I'm not sure what is causing this, but if you checkmark "print selected area" will it printout the clipped portion of your image?

    Unable to print in color after installing Windows 8 and I downloaded the software from HP for my HP psc 1600 printer.
    I have new cartridges and have printed a test page from the printer and the colors do not come out.

    Since it is the same machine that you are trying to reinstall the softwares,
    Please contact Customer Care @ 8008336687 and they would be able to increase the license count for you as an exception.
    Remember in future if you want to uprade the computer or install the software on a new machine deactivate the software first else it would give you the same error.
