Full screen no longer fills screen?

Full screen mode seems to be zoomed out for me with every image. I'm using 10.6.2 and I haven't seen this problem before now.

I am thinking that this is probably a combination of things;
1. Check what your preview size is set to in your preferences;
2. Check what the resolution of your screen(s) are;
Guessing that the resolution of your previews is less than the res of your screens.
Now on top of this you have probably hit the p key and possibly the z key;
the p give you the "quick preview", as in the preview generated by Aperture;
the z zooms the image to the actual pixel size, in this case the pixel size of the preview.
Otherwise maybe you just shot the last round as really really small jpegs.

White boot screen doesn't fill screen

I'm not sure when this started happening, and it's not too big a deal, but now, when my unibody 17" MBP boots, the white boot screen looks like a 4:3, low-res image with black bands on the sides. Basically, it doesn't fill the screen like it used to.
I have plugged it into a projector using the Mini Display Port to VGA adapter. Might that have something to do with it? Is there any way to fix it?

Try resetting the computer's PRAM, by rebooting and holdiing down the options-command-P-R keys all at once. Let the computer reset and chime a couple of times, and then release the keys and allow it to boot normally.

I used your Fill Screen sample and it works on a Mac (Safari, Firefox and Chrome),
and on a PC (Chrome, not sure about FireFox yet) but doesn't seem to work on a PC-Internet Explorer.
Here's the project (it is unfinished, but you can see the Fill Screen button in the bottom left)

My slideshows don't fill my tv screen any longer

I have PSE 9 and PRE9 and have made several slideshows in the past. I create and edit the slideshows in elements and burn them thru premiere. They all have played in my DVD player with no problems and have all filled the entire television screen. However the last slideshow I did still played in my DVD player but it doesn't fill the entire television screen, it has a black frame around the entire photo. I don't think I changed any settings from the others, but even when I create a new slideshow using the same photos I've used in other slideshows it no longer fills the screen. It isn't in my television because it does the same thing in other televisions I've shown them on. All I want is my slideshows to fill the entire television screen instead of being framed in black. I only use SONY DVDs. I've tried changing checking and unchecking boxes for different things but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You should find better advice on aspect ratio over on the video forum. Most of us here are photographers.

No longer have options to Centre, fill screen, tile wallpapers

Hi there,
Seems I have lost the options to Centre, fill screen, tile etc any wallpapers. Have tried different sizes from 1024x768 and up, even the bundled wallpapers and nothing seems to bring the options back. Was wondering if anyone might have any ideas?

It reinstalled the Combo update and all was still the same.
I then created a new folder, added a few pic's of difference sizes and added this to the folders list in Desktop & Screen Saver, then clicked on a few of them all with no options.
I then removed all the non apple default folders and re added a single new one and the options came back! Added in all my @removed@ folders and the options remained! lol
Not sure what the issue here or what fixed it, but it's seems to be sorted!

How do I get my DVDs to play full screen on a second screen?

I downloaded OS X Lion a few days ago and went to watch a movie on the second screen that is hooked up to my macbook pro. Instead of going to full screen on my TV, the movie moved itself back onto my computer and filled my second screen with a gray picture. Why does it do this, and is ther any way to play a DVD on a second screen in full screen? I have tried mirroring but the movie will not fill my TV screen like it used to with the old system because it is limited to the shape of my computer screen.

This is a general problem with the full screen mode under lion. Every time you bring whatever application in full screen mode the secondary screen is not usable anymore. As workaround you can only switch the primary screen onto you TV screen as long as you watch movies.
I know that this is no final solution but the only alternate is to roll back to SL. (I did so, and now I wait until Apple fix the problem)

How to open images in Fill Screen mode from Camera Raw

I am using Photoshop CS4 for Windows. I created an action that executes Fit on Screen and set the Scripts Event Manager to execute that action on the Open Document event. This works when opening a document from Photoshop.
Here are my questions:
1) After opening a raw image from Bridge in Camera Raw, when I then open the image in Photoshop, it does not run the Open Document event action to Fit on Screen. What event do I need to set the action to execute on when opening an image from Camera Raw in Photoshop?
2) I added Fit on Screen to the action by selecting Insert Menu Item from the Actions menu and then selecting View-Fit on Screen. I cannot find Fill Screen on any pull-down menu (the button found on the Hand tool bar). How can I insert the Fill Screen item (which fills the screen a little more than Fit on Screen?
3) In the Scripts Events Manager, when you select Add an Event, it says Any scriptable event can be entered here. See the Scripting Reference for the full list of Photoshop event names.. On the following Adobe webpage, I found the Adobe Photoshop CS4 Scripting Guide but I did not find a list of Photoshop event names in that document. Where can I find the list of Photoshop event names?

How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen? Not losing the other screen would be useful as I would like to, for example, monitor my emails whilst watching a video or to work on a project whilst watching an instructional video.
Note : Resizing a window to fill the screen is not acceptable as it still leaves unsightly borders.

Uncheck "Fill screen with one page at a time"

Is it possible to set a javascript to turn off the preference "Fill screen with one page at a time" when entering in Full Screen mode? So that way, it will override Acrobat or Reader application preferences when the PDF is open on users computers.

Resolution doesn't fill screen

My new i5 mac mini says it's using my monitors full resolution 1920x1080 but it doesn't fill the screen.
Using thunderbolt to VGA adapter.
1600x1200 fills screen but is ugly.
Any help would be appreciated.

The native resolution my display is 1080p Full HD 1920X1080 60Hz I use it with the macbook unibody and the mini displayport / VGA Adapter I didn´t test it with the new mac mini

Glance screen no longer available?

I recently lost my nokia lumia a 822. I replaced it with the same phone. I have installed all updates and am current at this time. A feature I really loved on my last phone was the glance screen. It does not show up on the settings menu on this phone. Has it been removed? Is there a way to add it?

That was what I needed. I don't remember installing it as an app

Empty app screen? How to fill screens with apps?

HI-
I used to have 4 pages of apps. After the 3.0 update I have 5 and my second app screen, which used to be full of apps, now only has one app. I know an app was added but this shouldn't have happened.
So - how do I "back-fill" the screens so that there are no gaps? Like it used to be. For example, how do I move apps from screen 3 to screen 2?

Screen does not fill up whole monitor, windows 7 on mac mini

Hi guys,
I just installed Windows 7 (32bit) on the new mac Mini (Lion OS) via Bootcamp 4.0. I installed the windows driver after the Windows 7 registration.
When Windowsd 7 starts, I can see that the screen does not fill out the whole 22" monitor, leaving a half-inch black frame.
The monitor is a LG IPS225 connected with HDMI to my mac Mini. Booting in mac OS Lion gives me a nice fully stretched screen.
If I understood it correctly, the graphic card (AMD HD 6750M) is somehow "underscanning" the monitor. Downloading the graphic card application from AMD (Catalyst mobility) does not help, as I get an error message saying that it's wrong adapter.
I have installed all the Windows 7 updates and Apple software updates, well running the update programs says that my computer is up to date...
Anyone got the same problem? or have an idea I can try?

If in device manager, your monitor is defaulting to Plug and Play, you should update with LG driver files for that monitor. My LG Flatron W2753V came with a CD that included the Monitor Driver (.icm, .cat and .inf files).
If Plug and Play, right click monitor in Device Manager, selecting Update driver software, pointing it to where you have the Monitor Driver files - see pic.
If you don't have driver, you can search for it, get it from here at LG,

He came to me yesterday and I noticed that his iPhone 4 still had old software (version in the 4's), so I advised him that he needed to synch it up to get the iOS 5.1.1 version. He synched and now can't get back in. He was entering his passcode on the lock screen (which wasn't taking) and I noted to him that his screen didn't look like mine. Anyone know how to fix this issue, or does he have to do a full restore?

He has set up a complex password instead of a simple passcode for his phone. If he doesn't know what it is, he'll have to restore. There is no way around a forgotten passcode.
