Position:
This person will work in the software group (currently 4 people) developing LabVIEW applications that will reside on the server. There are number of new modules that need to be added to their current product (tweaking the GPS, where to listen, UI, etc). Whenever there is an event (some gunshot or sound is recorded), the server collects the information and stores it in the database (SQL Server). The application will make sense of all this information and look for patterns in the information. Scalability is also an issue that needs to be addressed.
Big plusses are going to be acoustics, noise cancellation, SQL Server, mathematics background and signal processing.

We are looking for someone that can work within our facility, which is located in the U.S.

Firefox freezes up for 2 full minutes, every time I open it.

After I open Firefox, I have about two or three minutes to browse around before it freezes up. I get the "not responding" message. This lasts for a full two minutes, at least. There's always time to pop open IE or Chrome and get the information I need, but usually wait it out.
It is this, and the fact that I am asked to load new Java updates and restart Firefox EVERY TIME I open the browser that is leading me toward switching to Chrome. Firefox used to be the better alternative, now I get more reliability out of every other browser I use.

Every time I open my project file (LabView 8.5) it needs to be re-saved

Since LabView version 8.5, each and every time I open my project file (*.lvproj), it needs to be re-saved as indicated by the asterisk next to the project file name in the title bar of the Project Explorer. That is confirmed when I close it and a dialogue box pops up asking if I want to save the project.
I've clicked both "Save All" file menu items. The asterisk goes away and I can close the project without the dialogue box opening. But if I immediately re-open the project, the asterisk is there again.
Note that I have not made any changes - it occurs immediately after opening the project, as if it were a project file from a previoius version (which it was initially, but after saving it once in the new version, it should not happen again when no changes are made.
I did not observe this behavior with versions prior to 8.5. Anyone else see this? Thanks.

Thanks for your input. I don't know what you mean by a "mass compile". I've build my application - both a stand-alone exe and the installer (and it works), and I've saved the project. Then when I re-open it I get the asterisk. I can save it again, but the same thing occurs when I open it again.
No, I'm not using XControls or LVLOOP (whatever they are). Also, the application was developed originally in version 8.2.1 and then saved in version 8.5 when it became available. Everything else works fine, the same as it did in the previous version. This is the only difference I've seen.

LabVIEW and LabVIEW RT\FPGA proficiency (Desirable certifications include CLAD, CLD, CLA).
Familiarity with National Instruments Hardware Platforms. General Communication Protocols (GPIB, RS-232/485, EtherCat).
Exposure to Avionic Communication Protocols is an added advantage (ARINC, MIL1553) dSPACE®, Python, Matlab® \ Simulink® knowledge is an added advantage.
Aircraft systems/sub-system testing verification and validation environments.
