Diff between Calculated key figure and new formula 6extra functions why

Hi Friends
In BEx query designer we have Restricted key figure & Calculated key figure. In the case of Ristricted Key figure And new selection the difference is Global and local.
But if we come to Calculated Key figure and New Formula the difference is same global and local. But in New formula we have 6 extra function. My question is does is there any certain reason for this or SAP AG not be able to develop those functions

But i am not asking difference between calculated key figure and New formula.
What i am asking is in the case of Restricted Key figure And new selection the difference is Global and local.
But in Calculated Key figure and New Formula the difference is same global and local and in New formula we have 6 extra function. My question is does is there any certain reason for this.Why not SAP AG is not included the new formula functions in Calculated key figure.

%CT percentage function in Calculated Keyfigure missing

Hai,
I want to use the %CT percentage function in Calculated keyfigure.
But I can only find % and %A function under the PERCENTAGE FUNCTION. Am using BW 3.5. Why is it so?

This will be not available in CK's u have to use formula to get this.. Just try to create the Formula in the querry instead of CK...

HT204135 Scanner function on HP Officejet4500 and new MAC

My HP Officejet4500 printer's scan function isn't working on my new I-Mac
The document scans and looks correct on screen but when I go to save or e-mail the PDF, it is nothing but black lines. Is the scanning function of this model not supported via Mavericks? Do I need to buy a new printer?

Regarding Calculated key figure on Formula variable.

Hi Gurus
I have a requirement. My business scinerio in E-recruiting is to find out no of days between requistion creation date and offer made date in each month of year.
For example we have around 120 requistion created in calyender year .
10 requistion in jan , 10 in feb , 10 in march , 10 april , ...........10 december.
my client wants out put as
jan       no of days between offer made date to requistion creation date.
feb             ,,
march        ,,
april           ,,
may           ,,
june           ,,
july            ,,
december    ,,
i have requistion , req creation date , offer made date , cal period , cal year , no of requistion in my data model.
i am unable to this report.
i have made structure in rows
jan = no of requistion based on calperiod = 1,
dec = no of requistion based on calperiod =12.
in Columns
i created a calculated keyfigure based on formula variable with replacement path of req created date and offer date.
i am not getting the data. my guess is i went some where wrong. please give some advice where i am going wrong . plz help me on this

Both req creation date and offered date are in the free characteristics of query.
main problem for me is how to get no of days between offered date - req creation date in jan month.
can you give me exact formula how to write it down in query builder

Calculated keyfigures not defined correctly error when executing query

Hi Experts,
I changed calculations in the calculated keyfigures and saved successfully.
when I execute the query in BI7 Bex, I am getting errors like query element not defined correctly in the query. when I look into query in the designer its giving info messages for many calculated keyfigures saying reusable and saving can influence other queries.
I reverted back the changes but the errors still coming up. I tried to copy the query and run it ..still didnt helped..
Please suggest me with the solution..

Hi,
The calculated keyfigure is the difference of two other calculated keyfigures...
I tried to re-drag and drop into keyfigures column and didn't worked and still getting the errors.

Bex Query- Use of ABAP code in Calculated Keyfigure/formula

Dear Experts.
I am wondering if there is any way to use ABAP in the formula editor of the Bex Query desinger.
I have to build a report with very complex formulas (a lot of key figures, comporations, If then else ) an I think it would be easier to build all then in ABAP.
So what I am looking for is any kind of user-exit/Badi that allows to calculate a Calculated Key figure/fomula in ABAP with the same data that is availabe in the fomula editor.
If SAP is not providing this, this is clearlly a must for next releases.

Thnaks for your reply, but could you please extend your answer a little bit more?
As far as I know, Formula customer exit variables are only called once and they don´t provide the rest of the keyfigures and characteristic use in the drilldown level, so for my needs they are useless.
Regarding IF-then-else statement in the formula, I already know about it. Actually what I am trying to avoid is to use them. In order to build my query I might need to build really big formulas with a lot of If-then-else, making it quite complex what the formula is doing. This is the reson I want to do it on ABAP.
Please any other ideas?

But you can create the IF THEN by using ( ) in the forumla builder:
Reqt: IF A > B THEN B + C ELSE A
Formula: (A > B )* (B + C) + (A <= B ) * A
Each expression in the ( ) is evaluated as True or False and accordingly outputs 1 or 0.

The detials about the fundation of calculations when creating a new formula

In the query desinger when we creating a new formula, in properties there is a selection card called 'calculations ',what do ' Normalize According to Next Group level result, Normalize According to Overall Result and Normalize According to unrestricted overall Result ' mean?
And what is the differences between calculate results as and calculate single values as ?

' Normalize According to Next Group level result' means that the values within each subtotal will add up to 100%.
'Normalize According to Overall Result' means that all values shown on the report (after filters and/or conditions are applied) will add up to 100%.
'Normalize According to unrestricted overall Result' means that all values in the InfoProvider (whether they are displayed on the report or not) will add up to 100%, so if any filters or conditions are restricting the data displayed, the Overall Result may not be 100%.
'Calculate Results As' determines what will be displayed on the subtotals (a.k.a., "Results" in SAP-ese) for a report, whereas 'Calculate Single Values As' determines what is to be displayed on the individual rows that make up the subtotals.

Calculations - New Formula - OK - java.lang.NullPointerException

When I create a new Formula from the context menu, it bring up the dialog box. I enter a valid calculation and click OK.
I get this
java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.resource.impl.bi.queryview.formula.ProviderQvFormula.notifyServer(ProviderQvFormula.java:109)

Need help on mapping of obsolete and new function module

Hi Expert,
We are working on a upgradation tool in which i have to repace the obsolete function module "HELP_VALUES_GET_WITH_CHECKTAB
" by "F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
". I am not sure about the functionalities of these function modules as i have never used it. Can anyone please help me by providing some information abt these FMs. Also i need to do the mapping of parameters of old and new function module. So please provide the details of mapping also. Any pointers on this will be highly appreciated.

Hey Enivass,
you can ckeck the input field "Account Number" whether it is numeric or Alphabet using *"Conversions ->Fixvalues"*
Steps:
1. Extract first character of input using *" Text -> substring"* -- start position 0 , char count 1
2. In Fix Value table you have to give following values:
Dafault value : Alphabet
key----
value
0----
Number
1----
Number
2----
Number
9----
Number
3. Write logic IF "number" than "Arithmatic -> FormatNumber   (0000000000)   -
// for leading zeros
         ELSE
     concat with extra space        -

how can write user-defined function in message mapping in which i want to calculate the states taxes (2500) and country taxes (5000) and give the result as grand total in output.please help me?

1. To create a new user-defined function, in the data-flow editor, choose Create New Function (This
graphic is explained in the accompanying text), which is located on the lower left-hand side of the
screen. In the menu, choose Simple Function or Advanced Function.
2. In the window that appears, specify the attributes of the new function:
Name
Technical name of the function. The name is displayed in the function chooser and on the data-flow
object.
Description
Description of how the function is used.
Cache
Function type (see above)
Argument Count
In this table, you specify the number of input values the function can process, and name them. All
functions are of type String.
3. In the window that appears, you can create Java source code:
a. You can import Java packages to your methods from the Imports input field, by specifying them
separated by a comma or semi-colon:
You do not need to import the packages java.lang., java.util., java.io., and java.lang.reflect. since
all message mappings require these packages and therefore import them. You should be able to
access standard JDK and J2EE packages of the SAP Web Application Server by simply specifying the
package under Import. In other words, you do not have to import it as an archive into the Integration
Repository. You can also access classes of the SAP XML Toolkit, the SAP Java Connector, and the
SAP Logging Service (see also: Runtime Environment (Java-Mappings)).
In addition to the standard packages, you can also specify Java packages that you have imported as
archives and that are located in the same, or in an underlying software component version as the
message mapping.
b. Create your Java source text in the editor window or copy source text from another editor.
4. Confirm with Save and Close.
5. User-defined functions are limited to the message mapping in which you created the function. To
save the new function, save the message mapping.
6. To test the function, use the test environment.
The new function is now visible in the User-Defined function category. When you select this category,
a corresponding button is displayed in the function chooser pushbutton bar. To edit, delete, or add the
function to the data-flow editor, choose the arrow next to the button and select from the list box
displayed.

If you mean there are three Discussion Board list waiting for synchronizing, I would suggest you create an Event Receiver for the three Discussion Board list.
