Fuzzy & Semantic Search in TREX

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how we can enable Fuzzy & Semantic Search in the ISA B2B application?

You can use them but you have to change the standard flow of thee application.

Problem with semantic search (topicmaps) and german umlauts (ä,ü,ö)

Hello,
i've implemented semantic search like it is described in "How to Enable semantic search.pdf". If i create a synonymlist with a word containing ä,ü or ö; for example "nuts;nüsse", and now i search for nuts, i get the following error message:
<<Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: error parsing XML data (Unsupported character: 68 (:main:, row:37, col:4348)) (Errorcode 7260)>>
If i use "nuts;nuesse" everything works fine and trex finds both search terms.
Is there any possibility to solve this problem?

Hello Sven
You need to save the .txt-file with UTF-8 encoding. Try opening your synonym.txt-file with notepad and change the encoding to UTF-8. Then you convert the txt-file into the xtm-file and the xtm-file into .db-file.

Semantic Search and Exact search

Hi,
We have implemented semantic search for our trex like it is described in the HowToGuide.
We defined a lot of synonyms and it works fine.
But,
we expected, that the semantic search is an extension to the linguistic search method, so that synonyms are not taken into account, if we use the exact search method. But trex always searches for synonyms.
When a user uses the exact search method he doesn't want to search for synonyms.
How can we implement, that trex only searches for synonyms, if the automatic or linguistic search method is used?
Maybe someone has an idea.

I have implemented the same synonym search as you mentions, and I noticed the same problem.
Unfortunately I have never stumpled across a workaround for this issue.
Lets hope that either Mikhail Sirotkine or Matthias Röbig-Landau from development sees this question and answers it. I believe they should know the answer.

KM Search without TREX

Hi.,
One of the customers would like to know if any document
search is possible without using TREX.
Can anyone explain on this.

Hi JohnP,
searching without Trex is technically possible, but KM is required for such a scenario. You can "simply" develop an IndexService (Search) for KM's Indexmanagement layer connecting any search engine and plug it into the framework. Leave the TREX IndexService empty (not TREX configuration) and you will be able to search upon your IndexService resp. to your search engine.

If you are using PI 7.1 with EHP1, then you can following threads to search the messages using Trex:

   The global settings is valid for all components u have selected for indexing. You can use the default value itself.
ther are parameters like
    1)     Maximum number of messages per package to be transferred to the TREX server
    2)     Maximum size in KB of message packages transferred to the TREX server
    3)    Time interval in minutes for the periodic transfer of message packages to the TREX server for indexing
    4)    Time interval in hours for the periodic reorganization of the index of a component on the TREX server
    5)    Time period in days for the retention period of messages in the index
    6)    Time interval in minutes for the periodic processing of the TREX queue
    7)     Maximum number of entries for processing in the TREX queue
Also ther are filters available. if the filter is empty then all the messages will get indexed and will be available in search,
if u enter any details in filter option, then that particular interface only be indexed and only indexed messages will be available for content base search. The use of filter will improve the performance in case of large message flow and also it will save your hardware resources. but make sure that all required interfaces will be available in filter or other wise will searching you will get confused.

Semantic Search

We are implementing semantic search from note 866498. When

As far as I know, Semantic Search is not supported in SharePoint 2013 by OOTB. You need to consider the third party product to achieve your demand.

Recruiting problem with the candidate search by trex with questionnaires

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to search candidates using trex in recruiting by candidate_questionnaires but the trex does not show any result. How can I solve it?
When candidates register theirselves on internet, they complete questionnaires that I have added in the apllication wizard.
But the problem starts when I want to search candidates by the answers that they have complete in this questionnaire. So I select the criteria search candidate questionnaire, then I select the questionnaire and then the answer and I run the searh. I know that the results shown are always about others requisitions and not the one that I am doing the search. But in my case candidates are assigned in other requisition with the same process template so I do not know where is the problem, because other sort of search works fine. This is the only one that it does not work.
In addition, I have run the report RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS but the result is that all the parameters are fine except that I have not implement the badi HRAHAP00_FOLLOW_UP_SES. May I have to implement?
Moreover I have seen that when I select the answer to search, any operator (element of selection mask) is assigned but I have read that it is correct because I am using the search profile "int_cand" with the category "candidate_document" that it use in the mask search candidate_questionnaire.
In conclusion, I don't know how I can solve this problem with trex? Any idea?

Transaction for KM Content Search with TRex

Hi all
I installed TRex and I connected it to our Solution Manager system. I created an Index over my KM Content. Everything worked well.
I have a simple question: How do I search content in the Solution Manager KM? Which transaction offers my the full-text search?
I suppose the answer is very easy...unfortunately I was not able to find any information about this (shame on me!).

Solution was very easy...
Go to solar01 or solar02 then click on Find document. In the pop-up click on 'Extended Attribute Selection' at the top. After that you find "Full Text Search" at the bottom of the page.

Payload search without TREX

We have around thousand messages thru PI and need to search a particular field in the xml payload in PI like name, city etc, is there a way to get that message without using TREX, thanks

Dynamic Search in TREX

Hello All,
In Index Administration we have created certain indexes for certain Knowledge Management folders which index the documents in those folders and make it available in Search.
We have also scheduled these indexes to run after every 2 hrs so that once the document is added in the KM folder it is available in search atleast after 2 hrs.
We are interested in making this search dynamic. i.e as soon as we add documents in these folders they should be available for search.
Is this possible?? If yes let me know the way to do it.

Hi Yatin,
when the respective is event based, this should happen by default. So changed documents are indexed automatically within a predefined time periode.
Maybe you like to enhance this process by increasing the TREX flush time (fefaul 30 min).
System Administration - > Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> TREX Monitor -> Edit Queue Paremters
Select your index and set the Scheduler Time to a requested update time (Eg All-0:05).
But keep in mind that this might become performance intensive.

Search query TREX

Hi,
I try to configure the KM iview search query to return only result by the name of documents(or part of name) and not as full text.
For example, if i make a search on "TEST" i can see in the result page:
- document.doc (name of file)
this a test document (full text search)
- test.doc (name of file)
this is a new doc to..... (full text search)
- example.doc (name of file)
a sample for a test has been ....(full text search)
and i need to see only:
- test.doc (name of file)
this is a new doc to..... (full text search)
How configure the search to have this result?
For your information i'm in EP7 SP10, TREX 7.0.06

Hi ,
The custom QueryExtender works for custom property of type String and not for Timestamp property.
If add Attribute query for Timestamp property with operator as less or equal to current date value, it doesn't work as below.
returnList.addAttributeQuery(lPublishDateProp,currentDate,IQueryEntry.PROPERTY_OPERATOR_LESS_OR_EQUAL);
lPublishDateProp - Customer property name of type Timestamp
currentDate - String value of java.util.Date current date

Searching in TREX from ABAP

Hi all,
I am using function module TREX_EXT_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS to query for data in TREX. When I use 1 query entry (1 row in table 'i_query_entries') it works fine.
When I want to query 2 attributes (by adding a second row in table 'i_query_entries') I get a query syntax error from TREX.
Is there any information available with regard to calling TREX from ABAP (I do not mean doing it via BOR objects).

Hi All,
Using following 2 documents I had tried to configure TREX to search HLTM tags. After following all the steps when I tired to search I don't get any results.
1) How to set up web repository and crawling it for indexing.pdf
2) How-to-guide for searchable HTML tags.pdf

I am Manu's Colleague. We have the Hierarchy of Objects like this.
Cubes --> Multiprovider -- > Aggregation level.
We had two tranport requests one for the Planning objects Including Aggregation levels and the other for data model objects including cubes , DSO's and multiproviders. All deletion Requests.
We moved the First transport request to production and we checked using Normal Find objectsand found no results for the aggregation Levels.We assumed all the objects were deleted.
Then we moved the Datamodel transport request to Quasltiy and it failed stating that the Multiproviders are used in Aggregation Level. (this happened in Q)
Then when we checked the aggreation Level in Planning Modeller we found it in there (this in both Q and P) and not in RSA1 transaction until we used TREX to retreive the result. (This in P as we dont have TREX in D and Q systems)
This is the issues and beacuse of this we are not able to delete the Data models in the system.

PCD search using TREX SP16

Hi All,
I am trying to search for portal iviews, pages & roles using TREX.
I created the index & assigned the PCD folder (I have done all the pre-requisites for PCD search)....
Then when i opened the Index Administration page, the status for the index was red. I tried reindexing it, but the application log showed me errors,

"XIndexing documents failed. Method not supported on PCDSearchIndex..Continue crawling... "
My portal is at SP16, with KMC SP16 PL3...
TREX is up at SP16 PL2....

Please help me out.....

Search Using TREX -- If Supported by Object Type

Dear Gurus,
I have got this option lately in my RSA1 FInd button.
I need to find:
1. What does this do ?
2. I have an object which is deleted, i dont find it in normal search.
BUT
When i tick this option and search i find some relevant Planning Components.
Please let me know how to delete and find that obejct AND what does this Do , where does it search???
