FXP file cann't be opened by FC CS5,what's wrong?

I download a FXP file, which can be imported in Flash Builder, but when I try open it with Flash Catalyst CS5, a dialog popups along with a wrong message "this FXP project has been modified outside of Flash Catalyst and cannot be opened.",what's wrong about it?

Flash Catalyst can only open projects that were both created and saved in Catalyst.
Any .fxp that has been saved in Builder or another tool cannot be opened in Catalyst.

What do you mean by "all files", surely only one category of files got their default open program changed.
Choose the affected files, right click on an individual file, and "open with",...change to default program.
For a group, right click > show info > open with > change ALL
If more than one group of files has had its default opening program changed, a time machine roll-back would be the easy option. Do you have a TM backup?

I cannot get a new tab to open in FF 18. It doesn't work whether I click on + or do Fil; New Tab. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

The new tab opens when I click a link in the existing window, but, not when I click the + or File; New Tab. It always worked in previous versions. I tried re-installing, but, that didn't fix it either.

How do I make After Effects files in Windows 7 open in AE CS5 instead of the default CS5.5?

I have AE 5.5 and 5 installed on a Windows 7 machine and I'd like .AEP files open in CS5 by default.
I've tried using windows explorer to specify using the CS5 program but it defaults back to CS5.5
I've tried using Bridge CS5 and CS5.5 Edit/Preferences/File Type Associations but After Effects isn't even listed for some reason.
The only way I can open files in CS5 is by opening CS5 and opening the files from there. Trouble is I have more CS5 files than CS5.5 and I collaborate with several other artists only running CS5 so converting them to CS5.5 isn't an option right now.
Any ideas?

Nah, won't work. You would have to completeley erase the "After Effects Project" file type from your file associtaions and then literally rebuild it from scratch. Yes, that means heavy surgery by digging into the Registry and its HKEY_CASSES_ROOT branch as just removing it from the Explorer file associations still leaves the file type class in place. Long answer short: Just leave things as they are and keep your work organized. I never use double-clicking and I'm juggling versions from CS4 to CS6 every day, so it's possible.

Lately pdf files from the Web do not display properly; what is wrong and how can I fix it so I don't have to use IE?

I am a professor and frequently need to open pdfs of academic journal articles from electronic databases. Within the last two or three weeks, when I try to do this using Firefox, only the first page of the pdf displays and the rest are blank. In addition, a bar appears across the top with the message "This pdf file may not display properly." So I have had to switch to Internet Explorer to open the files and do my research. What is going on and how can I fix it so I can open pdf files from the Web in Firefox and have them display properly?

My question is simple - why would you put an application in production that has a lot of bugs? To replace a good and steady Adobe product? My customers will believe that I put a pathetic fallible form online. They are not sophisticated on computers so I just tell them to use IE. Ugh

When i download files on MEGA it says that I don't have enough system space but on MEGA i only have file with 128MB and on my disk 120GB, what's wrong?

Please see your system resources in order to find out how much space you have left for this MEGA program you are having difficulties with.
I do not completely understand your question, but I will do my best to answer. If you are downloading files from a website called Mega on Firefox, it may be that the space allocated to the folder it is downloading to is out of space or that there is a limitation on the website how much you can download in a certain time period?

Or you may go further down the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Cannot open Catalyst (FXP) files when the project reaches a certain size!

I am a UI designer working for Playstation and have recently downloaded the trial of Flash Catalyst in order to test the validity of using it for game UI prototyping. This has worked well for me up until a week ago when I attempted to open the project file I had been working on and it simply does not open - no error message or anything, it just sits on the progress screen and never manages to open the file! I have left this for many hours in the hope that it might open and have tried multiple times to no avail. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so can anyone help me salvage the file? I'm gutted as this amounts to a weeks worth of work so if anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful!

I have tried to open the file in Flash builder but it automatically loads flash catalyst as normal then fails to open. Is there a way of loading it in builder without loading catalyst? I'm not really familiar with builder so have just downloaded the trial. Tried importing the fxp file but cant find an option to do that.

It's seems temporary internet folder corrupted, please try to modify the location for temporary Internet files for Internet Explorer test this issue:
1.In Internet Explorer, choose Internet Options from the
Tools menu to display the Internet Options dialog.
2.In the Internet Options dialog, click the General tab. In the
Browsing history section click Settings to open the
Temporary Internet Files and History Settings dialog.
3.In the Temporary Internet Files and History Settings dialog, click
Move Folder to open the Browse for Folder dialog.
4.In the Browse for Folder dialog, select the following location.

Fxp file issue in adobe bridge

Hello, I am posting here because I believe I have a small bug with fxp files in bridge.
Basically, when I go thru Bridge to open an fxp file it opens in Flash Catalyst, but does not load the panels.
If I go thru the program and open the project in Flash Catalyst, not using Bridge in anyway it works fine.
Using Bridge 4.0.3.9 and Flash Catalyst version 1.0.0.273393
My machine is windows 7 - 64bit, i7 920 processor, 6 gig ram, gtx480 card. Drivers should be up to date.
Issue: Panels do not load (stay white) in Flash Catalyst if clicking a .fxp file in Bridge. Does work fine if opened thru the program itself.

Thanks for looking into it. One thing to add.
the panel tabs show up, and I can switch between tabs, unfortunately they are still white with no information in them.
Also the first time I tried to open a fxp file thru bridge, it tried opening them via After Effects, which was wierd.
A quick log off, and it fixed the problem. I looked to make sure that the fxp extention correctly attached to a CS5 program in preferences, but I did not find a fxp extention listed in there.
Although if I right click the file and use Open with, it says, Flash catalyst is the default program for it.

This can happen when Flash Builder is unable to open the FXP file or its a bad archive. Can you open your workspace folder, look for .metadata folder and post the information in the .log file?

Content of illustrator file is different when opening in and old cs version.

I have a very awful and urgent problem in my job right now, i design some advertisings that goes regularly from month to month, so some advertisings are just like the last month used but with some data changed.
My problem:
I have an illustrator file (.ai) saved and created in CS3 with pdf compability, outlines, and files linked and included on the same cd,
but when opening the same .ai file in another machine but with CS2 (the client's PC).. it shows a very old version of the file with ALL linked files embebbed (and those are different that are on the cd!!)., in the CS3 file i saved and recorded on cd i replaced all things of course and re-save it. I don't know what is wrong, but when i open it in another machine (i.e. a Mac) it shows the correct version of advertising. But not with the client's machine...
In my illustrator file, there is only text outlines and 2 psd. Each PSD have only 1 layer, 'cause they were flattened (thet are actually letters scanned).
So basically: My .ai file, created in CS3 in a Mac, seems totally different and embebbed when opening in CS2 in a PC.

In regards to the illustrator file link not matching, there is nothing wrong with the .ai file., your problem is with the filenames on the linked images. Your linked images have the SAME EXACT FILENAME AS THE OLD ones connected to the clients machine. You need to break the link to the old bad files and re-establish them to your good files.
Use links palete Flyout menu >> link information to find the location of the images. Change the name of an enclosing folder, or some other method to break the link to old images. Relink to new images, by placing them next to the .ai file in the same folder, and open the .ai file.

Problem related to PS CS6 ext. on Mac. Installation is OK but I can't open picture from my Nikon D610 (Raw NEF format). I get a message "can not open this format ...". Checking Help menu to see if I miss an update the message I get is that I'm up-to-date but at the end Nikon D610 (format supported of course) files can not be opened . JPEG are OK but I work with raw files. Thanks

What OS are you running: 10.x.x?
What version of the Camera Raw plug-in do you have? Do (About) Plug-ins / Camera Raw to find out.
You need at least ACR 8.3 to open D610 files. If the Help / Updates process does not work, then there is a manual install process you can do. The page with the download is for when people accidentally updated to ACR 8.4 and need to roll back to ACR 8.3 due to their OS being incompatible, but the installer on that page works even if you haven’t erroneously updated to ACR 8.4:
