FYI: iMessage is only free if you are in a WiFi setting. Otherwise, you pay per text. And ATT will charge a minimum of $20/month for texting, in addition to your data charge and rest of bill.

I'm not giving up my iPhone, and I don't mean to sound angry. But ATT pushed me over the edge. Would love to hear who others use for their iphone carrier and what options are out there. Could this be any more complicated or more of a racket? All I want to do is use the phone the way it was intended.

Yes, my husband went from a regular phone to an iPhone when he changed. I went from a Blackberry to an iPhone. We both have to pay the $30 fee to have a smartphone. We both were able to text before. However, because mine was a Blackberry, ATT doesn't allow the text option to come across w/o paying additional (on top of the $30). They just upped that unlimited texting fee to $20/month (from $10/month).
And yes, after my phone call this morning, that is the first time anyone pointed out to me that "green = imessage" and "blue = all other texts". Sorry. I'm just not that in tune with texting to realize that on my own.
And yes, I was really excited when I updated my firmware to iOS 5 because many of the folks I texted also updated and I could finally text a few customers again.
However, the whole issue about being in a WiFi spot in order for iMessage to really be free... no, I had no clue about that, nor have I ever heard anyone say that until ATT told me today.
Part of this is because I just don't make the connection between being able to use my phone in this spot or that spot. I, very naively, thought that when I paid for service it was available.
Again, this could not possibly be any more complicated to the average user. I thought I was an above-average user but I realize I am very low on the list of knowing how to manage a smartphone effectively.
I'm just very frustrated that it takes so much time to be able to effectively use a smartphone and so much money to try to have one. It's just very very frustrating.
And yes, my husband has been the one monitoring the account. He just didn't mention that I'd been going over on previous months. Apparently it hasn't been much. Just frustrated about the entire issue, all the way around.

    Why don't you  (generic most every post lacks critical details) be clear and say you never used Mac OS etc.

    A VM won't do for that but it does make it easier to transition. As in: install Windows natively, then use VMware Fusion or Parallels to attach to the partition and OS. That way you can run Windows as Guest OS VM under Mac; and still run Windows natively dual-boot when needed.
    The word "see" was not what you wanted, was it? really? you want to open and make changes and keep it on Windows side rather than Save As or copy to Mac

    I have an answer to my question. There is a bug in IOS8 that prevents third party applications to talk to the Health Application. Apple is trying to fix it ASAP

    When installing iOS 5, the iPhone is backed up first (which does not include any iTunes content including 3rd party apps) followed by being completely erased before iOS 5 is installed. This is followed by the backup being restored and all iTunes content in your iTunes library that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone being re-transferred.
    If the app is in your iTunes library, you shouldn't lose it, but since this app was downloaded with your friend's iTunes account, I'm not sure how the app wll be re-transferred unless your computer is also authorized with your friend's iTunes account with iTunes.
    No promises.

    The computer (windows platform) where I initially began using Itunes has four other computers/devices that are shared with it. All four of the other computers show up in my account, and can be managed. Or I can remove them. But on the new computer that I want to be my base computer (home if you will). The computer I want it to replace, when ITunes is open, has a tool bar, with various functions. All of the other devices are linked to that computer in ITunes, under Home SHaring. The new computer, shows the downloads via Home Sharing, but it does not show/have any tool bar.
    I want to activate the new computer to be the computer via ITunes where all of the devices are linked to it as the base for ITunes. And, I don't know how to make that happen.
    I hope that makes sense.

    I decided to try my hand at creating a theme. I filled out all of the forms, uploaded the images (that were the appropriate sizes), selected the colors, was happy with the preview and clicked 'Submit'. The following screen said, "Oops! You are trying to do something that you are not allowed to do." I clicked the back button and re-tried, then received the error message that the theme name was already taken. I re-named it, re-submitted and went back to the 'oops' screen. This cycle repeated no less than 20 times. I tried theme names that were so off the wall, there's no way that all of them were taken. I think that it was failing due to whatever error it was encountering.

    Have you tried:
    Turn FaceTime or iMessage off and then back on in Settings.
    Launch Settings by tapping the icon on the Home screen
    Scroll down to Messages or FaceTime
    Toggle the switch from on (green) to off (white)
    Wait a minute
    Toggle the switch back to on (green)
    Wait for it to re-activate
    Hard reboot your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
    Make sure you're on Wi-Fi
    Hold down both the Home button on the front, and the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device
    Wait for the Apple logo to appear
    If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1 (turning FaceTime or iMessage off and on)
    Reset network settings
    Launch Settings by tapping on the icon on the Home screen
    Tap on General
    Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap on Reset
    Tap on Reset Network Settings
    If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1, then step 2, above (Turning FaceTime or iMessage off and one, rebooting).

    I have got a bug saying You are not using af:panelFormLayout which you MUST. The label colors dont match standards, and the spacing between controls doesn't match standards. We need all pages to use the default ADF controls inorder to ensure consistency throughout application.
    In my page there are lot of panelGroupLayouts, Am i supposed to change all of them to panelFormLayout.
    If not , what exactly am i expected to do??

    As Frank already said, this must be a rule your company added to the code audit rules. It's not up to us to decide is you have to change all panelGroupLayout to panelFormLayout.
    You should try to find out why you get the message in the first place (or who added the audit rule to use panelFormLayout).

    If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

    Open Passbook, select the credit card you are using, touch the Info icon on the lower right. This will display the last four digits of the ‘Device Account Number’. These four digits are what your retailer wants to complete the transaction, NOT the last four digits of your card number. Some retailers require this, others do not.

    I found the solution in another post.  By deleting all my apps, I was able to sync the phone.  I hope I don't have to delete all my apps every time I want to sync my phone, but at least now I am able to sync my phone.

    I've done all of these, even trying a different USB port, and still, nothing. This is really confusing. Windows 8.1 said something to do with USB malfunction or something and nothing works. I need to restore my iPhone quickly and nothing has happened. My cable is not genuine Apple product. iTunes makes the noise that it makes when I connect the device, but it doesn't say 'iPhone is in recovery mode' or even say 'iPhone' in the corner. I am really fed up and would really appreciate a response.
