Removing and re-installing iTunes won't do any good as it does not pertain to the iPod in any way.  If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting helped, we can definitely say that it is a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display.

Hi, In addition to using the 32bit browser, did you run the Adobe Installer prior to Installing? This is needed to Uninstall all old versions from all browsers first.
If you have done that, did you Install the Flash Player for IE and then also for FF(Firefox & other browsers) I am not familiar with Wyco.

  • White Line Down Middle of iPod Classic Screen

I have recently noticed a thin white vertical line on the right side of my iPod classic screen.  It doesn't affect the iPod's function at the moment but I'm worried that it is signaling a potential technicial problem.  I have tried all the initial troubleshooting steps suggested but am leery about uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.

  • Black line down middle of copies from Auto Document Feeder. Canon mx922.

When printing copies through te Auto Document Feeder (the feeder on top) of my Canon mx922, a black line appears down the middle of the page. How do I clean the ADF/ fix this problem? Thank you.

    Hi ChrisCanon,
The lines on copies that you are experiencing is a result of the scan glass being dirty or scratched.  The scan glass that the printer uses when scanning from the ADF is located to the left of the larger glass area (platen) when you open the cover.  It is the smaller glass strip on the left hand side of the unit.
Spray some glass cleaner on a paper towel and then clean the smaller glass area.  Once cleaned, try scanning from the ADF again.

  • Guide lines to chosing a LCD monitor

I am in need of a new monitor. My Trinitron CRT is giving out and would like to replace it with a LCD type and know that Adobe does not support LCD gamma adjustment. What are some of the guide lines to use for the selection of a new monitor? Does "contrast factor" have a bearing on the dynamic range (Dmax)? What about "color space" of the LCD? Is there some way of finding out from the manufacturer what the color temperature is? Or do I just buy a monitor and along with some test apparatus, do the measurements at home?
If anyone has had experience with this I sure would like to get some pointers.
    Ken Clunis

    Ken....
I've just been through the process of choosing a new LCD screen to replace my dead one. The biggest problem I faced was that there was no way I could try out a monitor and send it back just because it wasn't up to my idea of good. So I had to rely on reading about some of the issues in various reviews etc. Trouble was that most folks had conflicting experiences and many reviews I came across mostly focused on the gaming market.
Being an Engineer I resorted to looking at the various spec's with a hope to making a decision this way but this didn't help as many specs were a little limited in info. In the end I looked at the technology and some practical issues that surfaced.
    1. Many OEMs like Dell don't make their own LCD panels, which is the key ingredient. Instead they'll buy from where ever they can get the best deal. This means that the quality and type varies from batch to batch. The advice I came across said to look for a display that used an S-IPS (or AS-IPS Panel). These have better viewing angles than some other types. Their were reports of some Dells using these and others of the same type number using a PVA panel.
    2. Colour space isn't a concept the average LCD manufacturer worries about. If you want AdobeRGB then the choice is limited and more expensive. Most will approximate sRGB.
    3. Being able to change the colour temperature is important rather than having a preset value. If your going to invest in a colourimeter then I'd advise checking to see if you can independently adjust the R,G,B. Although to be fair this can often be done by the display driver.
    4. I'm not sure about Contrast Ratio v Dmax. This is tricky for LCD screens because there isn't any control for Contrast/Brightness - just the backlight control. On my display - NEC 20WGX2 - the Contrast Ratio I think was spec'd at 1000:1 but the screen was so bright I had to wear dark glasses until I'd set it up with my Eye-One. This resulted in a 15% contrast setting and a 25% Brightness setting. Backlights are subject to degradation and start to change after about 18months or sooner if you run them at full wack. So, I'm hoping that running it at lower settings will extend its life.
    5. In the end I went for the NEC 20WGX2. a) NEC make there own panels, b)NEC make Professional Displays for Photographers and Artists, c) it got a good review for what I could afford.
There was some very useful information on the following web site along with some good information on the technology and choosing a display.
    6. If you are lucky enough to be able to try one with a Colourimeter then a good test is to see how much adjustment is required for the Colour Temperature. The more you have to tweak the RGB the harder the Profile has to work to render the colours which might introduce more errors. Displaying a Grayscale Gradient is another good test to check for banding. Do the same on a Colour Gradient as well.

  • Purple Line Down Middle Of Screen After Update

I just bought a brand new ipad mini.
Everything was fine, then i get a message asking if I want to update to the newest ios version.
I say ok and it downloads and does the update.
Then I notice there's a purple line going down the middle of the screen?
Is this a software issue or a hardware issue?
Is this related to the update?
Should I take it to an apple store and try and get a replacement or is it a simple fix?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Photos have a line down middle.

Hi, I have a canon rebel t3i and my pictures are coming out with a line down the middle.  One side is lighter than the other.  I thought it was just the screen, but when I print my pictures the line appears with half of the photo being darker/lighter.  Do I need a new lens? Please help.

Are you using flash? If so, is it the one on the camera, or is it a Speedlite in the hot shoe?
If the flash is not sync-ing correctly with the shutter, you may get that, as the shutter is really just a rectangular opening that travels horizontally in front of the sensor. If the opening passes part of the picture before the flash fires then half the picture will not get light from the flash.
I once had that happen when my Speedlite flash had slid loose in the shoe so it was not talking well with the camera.

  • Occasional red line down middle left of screen

I got my computer around April of this past spring (2014, however the model is mid 2012) and just recently there has been a bright red vertical line running down the left side near the middle. It only happens occasionally and it stays there for about 10 minutes and then goes away. I realize it doesn't effect it THAT much but it's annoying and I recently bought it, if you pay $1,200 for a computer I would expect this not to happen. Why might this be happening and what can be done to fix it?
Note: neither the computer nor its screen have experienced any trauma.

A new Mac is in warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.
You can take the computer to the Apple store to have it checked out.

  • Thin green vertical line in middle of built-in display screen

This green line just appeared after using this MacBook since Oct 2008 purchase. Does not appear on the boot up screen, but at log-in and beyond. Please reply with any thoughts or suggestions. Randall

I think you may have the same Mac I do, which is actually a late 2007 model. If so, it could have the NVIDIA problem:

If you have access to an Apple Store, they have a test they can run for this.

  • White line in middle of capture

    I have a MSI G4Ti4200-VTD64   (MS-8870).
I have the drivers installed and the capture drivers installed.  I am using WinProducer that came with my video card.  I am running Windows XP.
A friend of mine has been trying to capture some footage off his camera.  Everytime we try it (using composite or svideo in) there is a huge white chunk in the middle of the screen, you can hardly see any of the video.  It stretches from the left side to the right and you can only see video just above and below it.  It's almost like a widescreen video with white in the widescreen area and the video running above and below it.
So we put the tape in my camera and it does the same thing.  Any other tape we use does not have this effect, it captures fine.
So we think it might be the tape.  HOWEVER, when we watch the capture taking place in the preview window there is no white section, it is only when it is saved off to the file.  Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?  And why it only happens once it is written to a file.  It does appear to be just the one tape thankfully but it should not have the white section in it if it is not showing in the preview!

I don't really know why it's capturing that way but what you see on the preview may be sampled by a separate circuit for instant playback prior to when the actual capture write takes place and that could be being done by a different circuit so yes it can do something different than what you see...just depends on the circuit setup...

    Fruhulda,
Thanks for looking at the document.
    I think you're right, it's corrupted.
In any case, I pulled up thumbnails view and deleted that page, plus the pages before and after, then copy/pasted prose back in and it's clean now.
One complication is that it's difficult (impossible as far as I can tell) to select only one page using thumbnails. I'm not sure why this is.
Anyway, problem solved. Thanks again for your help.
