G580- Screen blacks out when power supply is not plugged in to the laptop

My laptop is just 3 months old and I am already having problems with it.
The laptop screen blacks out when i remove the power supply from it.
When plugged in , it starts workin again.
Whats the point of a laptop if i am not able to use it without plugging in??
I don kno what the probelm is. Can anyone help here pls...

Hi Vaish,
I’d like to help you with this issue as we can try to increase the Brightness of the screen from the power options while plugged in,
And then please if still the same we can try to uninstall the Lenovo Energy management and reinstall it back:

Screens black out when starting program

I don't know where to ask this since it is more related to CS4 in general. I mostly use InDesign, but the two moderators on that forum are trolls. I hope it's better here.
All screens black out for few seconds while starting or closing the following in Adobe CS4:
InDesign, Fireworks, Bridge, Device Central, Media Encoder
This does npot happen with other programs I've found or other programs in the CS4 suite.
Don’t know if this is a software issue or a graphics issue. Everything still works, but it's very annoying.

Win7 64 bit
Quadro NVS 450 graphics card
Three NEC EA190M monitors
8Gb memory

TS1383 the battery on my ipod is out of power and i have plugged it into the adapter and the charging screen is not on and in fact there is nothing but a blan unlit screen any thoughts

I assume knowing shows on the display at all? How long have you left it to charge? It can take up to 30 minutes for the iPod to show any signs of life and even then it sometimes still requires a hard reset of the iPod to get it to boot up.
Otherwise, tr a reset. To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

S200 screen blacks out when lid opened; lid closed it turns on!

This is badder than bad for a problem. When I open the netbook lid, the screen blanks out. This even happens at the boot stage immediately after pressing power button, so that the BIOS screen goes black when I open the lid. On closing the lid though, hey, the screen turns on. If it manages to boot the OS and I open the lid, the screen will black out. Then I close it and it turns on, but often opening it again and the netbook sleeps. A while ago, after that stage of the netbook sleeping, I could open the lid, hit Enter and get it to wake up and then I had roughly 1.5 min to do some work - perhaps longer I didn't actually time it. Now, however, it blacks out again after wake up (and its very hard to shut it down using a pencil reaching the power button!) I've opened the back off the netbook and try to find the lid switch, but I'm still not sure where it is - so that I could disable it completely. I'd prefer not to take it to the service center as warranty is over and I already had a $50 repair with Lenovo, so doing it once more is not really worth it. OS is Linux Ubuntu - and in all the Power settings I set it to do nothing when lid is closed. Any help would be appreciated!

Well, I had the idea of using a magnet to find out if the S200 uses a magnetic lid switch.
I ran it around the edges of lid and outside of keyboard and front... and suddenly, just by the Backspace key it was, the screen came back to life!
As i had the case opened I looked at what part was inside just there, and its the small usb/card-reader board. I couldn't tell if there was a lid switch component there though - but after I touched a few parts there, now the screen is always on when i start the netbook.
my other problem now though is that half of the keys don't work - no output on screen.
so that's another issue!

Second screen blacked out when full screen with dual displays

I have a MacBook Pro connected to an LCD display. I use both screens. When working from home I'd like to have my local machine showing on the LCD monitor and my work machine showing in the MBP screen. I can do this, however I can't have the work machine in full screen mode because ARD blacks out my main LCD monitor. This frankly drives me nuts as there doesn't appear to be a preference within ARD to change this.
iTunes does the same thing. If I want to watch a video full screen in one monitor it blacks out the other. C'mon Apple, Quicktime doesn't do this and has a preferences tab just for display settings!
Does someone have a suggestion, work around, or want to point me to what I might be missing to solve this issue?

I understand what you are doing, but when you are running as full-screen the second display is blacked out because your making your station only the target at that moment. You are telling ARD that you want nothing to do with your Admin station. Also because the target doesn't have a second screen, your is blank. This avoids any confusion as to what screen belongs to what machine. ARD is working as it was designed to.
iTunes does the same thing to hid extra screens that are not part of the presentation so they don't detract from the show.
With your Observe or Control in Windowed mode, make the window of you client to fill the display as much as possible. This is the best you can do. Besides, when you are Controlling a client in Full-Screen, you can't move files and such with drag-n-drop. So if you want to work on both at the same time, you need to stay in windowed mode.

IMac screen blacks out when lowering brightness?

iMac 27" mid-2010
If I lower brightness, after a short while screen cuts out - computer works fine in background.
When I am on highest brightness - everything is fine...
Does anyone know what is happening here?

S210 screen blacks out when AC adapter removed

New problem with my S210.
When i have it connected to AC, works as normal.
when AC adapter removed, the screen alone loses power. (computer does not turn off or go to sleep).
simply re-inserting ac adapter re-powers the screen immediately.
this issue does not allow for me to work without ac adapter.
any ideas if there is a setting that needs to be changed, or if this points to a hardware issue would be appreciated.
(no modifications done to this laptop, its running windows 8.1)

Access the Power Options through Control Panel,
- Click on the Change Plan Settings on your selected Plan.
- Now make sure that the brightness are Equal on both Plugged in and On Battery
Then Click on Save Changes

Screen Blacks Out When Composing Email

When I am composing emails after a minute or two the screen goes black, and the phone reverts back to the home page. The pending email disappears (not even saved as a draft) anyone have a clue how to fix this?

I'll be honest. These are WAGs. However...
Since the Reset didn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Bug report: Screen times out when other side is not sharing video. The phone locks and of course the other party cannot see anything. Please fix.

T540p disconnect when power supply moves

My laptop becomes disconnected when my power supply is jiggled. This causes the laptop to dim and sometimes go into airplane mode. I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem and how they resolved it.
Is it the external power supply or the internal power connector? I don't want to order parts just to find out that I got the wrong one.

Power Supply Adapter: FRU PN 45N0264

This happens specifically when I move the plug that is connected to the jack from side to side, so I suspect it is the internal hardware of the laptop.

It's not a big issue, and I can live with this occasional hiccup since I'm usually stationary when it is plugged in. It has not caused my significant problems, and if it is not a known serious issue, I want to avoid being separated from my device because I would have to get a technician fix this for me because it involves invasive disassembly.
Is there any danger in keeping this faulty hardware? Could having the faulty hardware limit the lifespan of my laptop significantly compared to having the faulty hardware swapped?

Ver 10.0.1. Entire screen blacks out for a few seconds when scrolling.

I recently updated to Reader X 10.0.1. Now when I scroll through a large document my entire screen blacks out for a few seconds. So far it has recovered. You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

Black out when screen is moved

My screen blacks out at times when I move the screen tipping forward and back. There is only a few positions where it will stay on. It's a 2008 black macbook running 10.7.5 and 10.6.8 Everything else is fine. Hardware test shows no problems. Any idea what kind of a repair this would be.

The symptom is classic of a broken inverter cable. The cable routes through the left hinge to the screen and wears out from opening and closing the screen. Screen doesnt get blacked out when on call after the new update

Since the time i Have updated the firmware screen doesnt gets blacked out, when on call after the new update. Because of this option automatically get selected by getting touched cheecks.

Random laptop screen Black out / Turn off .

Hi,
first of all my laptop is : HP Pavilion dv6-6160se Entertainment Notebook
to the problem now
A few days ago my laptops screen started out of a sudden shutting down/turning black( no lights at all ). This was happening while using the laptop at random. The screen had no lights, and if i use a flashlight on it there is nothing. like its turned off completelly.
Before this happens. Ths behavior varies. Sometimes it flickers from my desktop to a black screen then back on and some times not. Most of the times screen changed to a radom color (green mostly) then becomes black/shuts down.
NOTE: The laptop keeps runing, i can hear the videos playing so it probably isnt a gpu chip or gpu issue , music and games.
I searched the web for all kind of reasons that this could happen and tried some of the fixes .
Here are everything i tried and all or the details i could accumulate in past coupe of days:
1. If the screen flickers , blacks out and then turns back on i get a message that gpu drivers have stopped working and recovered ( on both amd and intel ).
2. If the screen blacks out, on rare ocasions if you close the laptop lid and let the laptop go to sleep , when waking up screen works again ( noticable due to screen moving)
3. I tried installing 4 different drivers all with clear install. ( didn't work)
4. I tried to to recover system with restore point. ( didn't work)
5. I tried to lower the screen brightness. ( didn't work)
6. tried this trick:
Turn off laptop
Remove battery
Hold the power buttong for 30-45 seconds
Plug-in the charger ( dont put the battery in )
Turn on laptop and see if it works.
Very Noticable details:
7. Since on of the rare fixes requires to move the lid i tried shaking the screen a bit or pushing it slightly to different directions. This actually does the trick and turns the screen back on ( i am right now typing this after using this "trick"
So, with this one as a hint there are a couple of stuff i have in mind but i am not sure and need help since i am not a technician.
a) There is a loose LCD cable and when i type a little vibration moves it and ends up in a black screen.
b) I read that if you use a flashlight and you cant see your desktop it means its a bad inverter.
c) Can the inverter have a lose cabe instead of the lcd ?
That's all the feedback i could give you that i can recall now.
Currecntly the screen looks ok ( maybe its the certain angle it has after i moved it so i would aprecciate a fast reply before it goes black again
EDIT: Tried to play a game for a few mins and i got the black screen again. Closed the lid so the laptop goes in sleep mode then opened it and it worked. Just for the records.
EDIT#2: Just tried to play a game again. got the blackscreen, shaked the screen a bit and it worked but for the 1st time i get the message " Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware" , Can it be that its the GPU after all or maybe drivers?
EDIT#3: Tried to play a game again and it seem to trigger the issue . ( i am currently running the laptop with only the intel drivers installed)

I have read through your post and it seems there are a couple of possibilities, and I noted that you have already tried several of the things I would normally suggest.
I will however post some of those links anyway for you to review, it is always possible there may be something in one of them that may have been missed or may inspire an idea of the cause. Since you mentioned that sometimes just moving the screen will cause the problem or make it disappear, that does seem like either a loose connection or maybe something like pressure on a part of the display causing the issue. Of course that last part may just mean the display is on its last legs, but hopefully not.
First I will give you a link to the service manual, to help you check the connections. Just be careful to read the sections on precautions, to protect yourself and to prevent any other damage.This manual is also useful in that it lists all the compatible parts, so if the display is defective you could use this guide to help order a compatible replacement if you choose to do so. 1st, u could just restart ur home, pressing the home and power botton together for few sec,if it wont work .....
2nd, try restore ur phone with itune, and it ****** me off last time when i dont normally backup with my itune after the icould thing showup, so restore with icloud backup wont 100% work, if not just try restore from older icloud backup. if it still wont work.....
3rd hand it over the the apple dealer... they are the pro... never ever open it up urself or bring it to one of ur so call SMART FRIENDS, they will freak up ur phone even worst.... i think this method will definately solve ur problem..
