Geforce FX5200 Drivers

I have just reinstalled my  FX5200 but my cd drive has chewed the driver cd.
I downloaded the Fx compatible driver from here, problem now is, when I try to play games there is a double vision image and the game appears to be flickering.
To be perfectly honest I don`t have a clue where to start to try and correct the problem, or for that matter if it`s a driver problem or just a tweak job.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank`s. Tom.

Hi Richard.
I downloaded driver 45.23 from nvidia and also had a twiddle with the antialiasing and anisotropic sliders in the nvidia sub menu "quality and performance". Both of the settings where at default ie zero, I changed them both to 4x. That got rid of the double vision but there is a slight problem with outdoor textures(IGI 2). Looks like you are walking with huge boards on your feet!
I have noticed that I cannot change some of the graphic settings within the game configuration, maybe a re-install can cure that. Can you advise what settings to choose re the antialiasing and anisotropic? my mobo supports AGP 4X.
Thank`s again. Tom.

  • Problems with GeForce FX5200

    Hello guys,
I bought a MSI GeForce FX5200 TD-128 last year. It's working well, but I can't update its driver, that's why I'm using the driver that comes in the CD with the video card.
I bought Half-Life 2 yeasterday, and the game recommends me to update the video driver in order to have the best graphic quality, but when I install the most up to date driver, the image becomes the worst of all...
I've tried to update the DirectX aswell, but it didn't work...
Now I'm using the DirectX 9.0C
    Can someone help me??
    Thanks !!

Did you uninstalled completely the old drivers? Are you using MSI dirvers or nvidia drivers? remenber this: the latest driver are recommended mostly for the geforce 6 series. So i recommend you to download this version: 61.77 those are very stable and you get a good image quality, becasue if you install the latest drivers you could see a very good image but for the sake of performance, and also you could try installing several drivers and check them and stay with the one that you liked most.  And remember also that each vid card it's unique! you can't compare them even if they are identical.
are doing overclocking? did you installed the chipset drivers before to reinstall the vid card drivers?

  • GeForce FX5200 - big problem

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
    1. I can't even start my OS. It's the graphic card problem for sure, because when I'm changing it for any other card it works fine. Ok, so when my OS (XP) is loading, my monitor just turns off and the led is blinking. All what can I do is reset or turn of the computer. There was no fan on the vga when I bought it (2 years ago). It was working excellent. And now I can't even run my OS.
Does anyone of you know what's the problem ?
    2. Second problem - tvout. When I connect my tv, screen on tv is weird, I don't know how to describe it   but it looks like the colours are brightened. I can't do anything with it, I was trying some setup but nothing works. It was working good too, but it screwed up much more sooner then my first problem.  :D

you can try, use fail safe mode, pressing F8 when booting, then set to start in failsafe mode with vga, then if you can get in to windows then go to video properties and change the refresh frecuency to 60hz in any resolution and restart, if do not work do it again in fail safe mode (no vga mode) if the last thing you see is the windows logo with the loading bar then the problem is monitor out of refresh values, that turn of the monitor, another thing may be if you conect a tv like a monitor without your pc monitor, sometimes the main monitor is set to tv so when start windows the pc monitor turn off, if you can see something in your tv then you must change to "clone view" the multidisplay setting
ok mi english is not good too so i hope to help you in some way
true but that dont explain --> "I was able to start an OS, but in the game it crashed again."

  • MS-Starforce Geforce FX5200

When ever i click on the option in display settings to view the msi clock settings i get a pop up problem saying 'Invalid pNvuClockInt' and the 3d clock speed is shown with a ? mark. it used to say 'Could not load NvGpio' but after i installed some things off the disc that came with the graphics card it stopped saying it and said the next thing. I was also wondering if this would affect the game Halo since it runs rather slow at times even though my pc is well above the recommended spec. It's a P4 2.8ghz, 512mb ddr ram, MS-Starforce Geforce FX5200 128mb.
Is there any way to sort this problem out?
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
    El Ninio

    El Ninio,
Download and install the latest  nVidia ForceWare Drivers
Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory and the problem will go away.
If you want to be able to have the hidden functions, create a file with notepad and put this in it.

    "NvCplEnableHardwarePage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
Save it as agpsetting.reg to your desktop or anywhere you like. Then run it and it will give you all the hidden options from nVidia which include extra Resolution settings for your desktop and overclocking for both the memory and core.

  • GeForce FX5200 Overclocking

I've recently got a GeForce FX5200 DV128 8X, it has no active cooling, just a big heatsink over the GPU and the RAM modules. Is there a way to overclock this videocard to make it faster than my GeForce 4 TI4200?

I haven't yet heard of anyone frying a fx5200.  The thing is, those cards have really slow memory, so I figure by inching up the 3d clock speed you'll notice screen corruption or temporary freezes due to the slow memory before the card gets close to the point of no return. I suppose the best thing to do is google around for overclocking success stories of FX5200 owners, like this one.

  • NVIDIA: Dual monitor question (geforce FX5200)

    Hi all:
I've been using my geforce FX5200 nvidia card single monitor, just a CRT plugged into the VGA port. I had two CRTs and used a VGA->DVI adapter to attempt to get the second monitor to show (the card has a DVI and a VGA). I was never able to get the second screen to work that way, I don't know if the adapter was bad or the wrong one, but nonetheless it didn't work. I finally got a "DVI monitor." What's the easiest way to get this second monitor to work?

They should both be picked up on the nvidia-settings tool?
In theory yes, but in practice there was a problem (or possibly a "feature") on some nvidia cards (or maybe a limitation in the driver) which I also experienced on FX5500 where you couldn't use certain pipes in combination. For example using VGA+TV-Out was not possible so you would have to get a vga-to-dvi adapter and use DVI+TV-Out, which was possible. Since your first try with two CRT monitors failed it might be that your can't use VGA+DVI in combination.
Edit: unfortunately it was so long ago that I don't have any resources on this. But a quick search now brought me to another example of this

  • GeForce FX5200 in a 1.5v AGP 2/4x slot?

I have read on these forums that the MSI GeForce FX5200 TDR128 will work in 2/4/8x AGP slots, but I am wondering if it will work in a motherboard that only allows 1.5v cards?  My board is an Intel D850GB and I currently have a GeForce2 Ultra and really need to get a DirectX 9 card.
I haven't been able to find anywhere on either the MSI site or the NVidia site what voltage the FX5200 is.
    Thanks for any information.

    knytphal,
The i850 is a 4X AGP. It will work with 4X.

  • Dual G5 with Geforce fx5200 running 2 -24 inch displays?

I have a dual G5 with the apple 23" display on a Geforce fx5200 card. It runs the 23" plus a 17" Samsung quite well in Logic Pro. I need more real estate though. Question is will the Geforce run an HP 24" to replace the Samsung 17"
    Thanks.

I run Aperture in dual screen mode with a full screen browser on one monitor and and a mirrored image of the selected image on the other monitor.
This doesn't work with dual video cards. Here's a work around
    The temporary solution:
    1. Arrange the monitors in system preferences so the primary monitor is on the left.
2.Set the viewer mode to "Browser and Viewer"
    3. Set the monitors in Aperture to show multiple on the main viewer and "desk top" on the secondary monitor.
    4. Toggle the browser to the right hand side of the expanded image, with the inspector on the right hand side of that.
    5. Stretch the view screen to cover both screens.
    6. Resize the bowser and the inspector to cover the right hand screen.
This now simulates "Browser Only" with mirrored second screen. As long as the "expanded image" is on the primary screen Aperture adjustment inspector works and the images are stable with full histograms.
Apple engineering implies that a dual mini display port card is in the works.

  • NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 (sp) on Swatooth or Gigabit

I recently was able to add a Radeon 9800 Mac Edition to my 1.6 GHz G5 and would like to add the stock video card (nVidia GeForce FX5200) to my friend's Sawtooth machine... is this card compatible?

    Hi-
It should be fine in the Sawtooth.

A Gigabit Ethernet will need the #3 and #11 pins on the card to be taped.

  • Updated nVidia GeForce FX5200 U drivers

Does anyone knows where can I find any updated drivers for my iMac G5 64Mb nVidia FX5200 U video card? I checked the nVidia website, and they don't have drivers for Mac.
Specifically, the current Mac drivers don't support the OpenGL 2.0 Extensions completely (such as texture compression).
I've later learned that these updated drivers are released with every OS X update, when is the next update (10.4.3) due?
Does anybody know how can I request such drivers to Apple?
Thanks a lot and I appreciate all your answers!

I recently upgraded to Yosemite on my mid 2009 MBP and now I have maximum resolution of 1080p - so i suspect its the nvidia Graphics card that needs essential updates. Also after extensive search Im starting to get the feeling Apple have cut us off ...  no surprises there.

  • FX5200 drivers?

    Hi all,
I have a fx5200, Im using drivers 4.4.0.3 which came with the graphics card and am using now with no problems, When i do update the drivers with the latest ones I notice the text on screen such as wording looks faint and so does icons etc, this isnt like that with the drivers ive been using.
    can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Ellis.

Is your resolution or refresh rate changing with the new driver?
Check your edge smoothing settings for your fonts in:
    Display Properties>Appearance>Effects
    - set it to Standard if it's set at ClearType (if you're using an LCD, then set it to ClearType).
Also check your DPI setting (under Display Properties>Settings>Advanced>General with both drivers, if it's different, then set the same setting with the new driver as it is with the old driver.

  • Problems with g580's brightness bar and Geforce 630m drivers.

    Hi,
There is two problems with my Lenovo g580.
The first - i can't install new drivers for my nVidia geforce gt 630m from official nvidia site. When i try to install it (301.42 last stable version), there is the message that install manager didn't find compatible hardware.
The second - when i press fn+up/down keys, my brightness bar doesn't change. Only static picture, but brightness changes.
    Thank you.

Did you try installing them from the lenovo site or the drivers in d drive? Do you have the stock drivers installed ? Is device manager sensing the graphic hardware? Do you have OEM install if windows? For the brightness problem ,it is ok for the windows brightness indicator to remain unchanged as lenovo energy management oversee it.
