Any one has an idea how to produce a list of users who has admins rights?

launch query builder from the admin launchpad
enter this query
select * from ci_systemobjects where si_parentid=19
this will give you a list of all the members of the administrators group.
You can experiment with query builder and possibly ask for help in the DEV forum if you need to write a more complex query.

Go to transaction SUIM, this has a number of reports for users/authorisations
open the Where used>Autorization Values>In Users
and double click to execute
in authorisation object, enter S_TCODE
then press the "Enter Values" button
It will offer entry boxes to put the transaction code you are interesed in.
Then execute and the list of users with access to this transaciton code will be returned.

combine tables AGR_1251 and table AGR_Users on keyfield AGR_USERS
in tabel AGR_1251 select on Field LOW values IT0008.OR W OR R,
noiw you get also other values
So better solution run the query twice over AGR1251 first on IT0008 and secondly on values W OR R and then the result over table AGR_USERS
Youu also might put an additional selection on object P* (only selecting HR objects)
output wll be UID in table AGR_USERS

Is there an API which provides list of users who have access to current community in ALUI? Will there be huge performance impact in retrieving the list of all users who have access to current communty?

I am not quite following you..
Users can only view a community if the permissions exist for that specific community. I dont understand what do you meant by
"I need to let user type a name and show his/her user ID from the list of users who have access to the current community".
Are you trying to look at user permissions based on a list of communities existing in the portal? The user can't even get to that community if he doesn't have permissions.

From a database administration and monitoring traffic point of view we want to know who has logged into our web tools web site for a given period. Is there a easy way to have this information. basically user ID , date and time are info we need. (need all users - with or without orders)
any ideas welcome.

The easiest way to accomplish this is by creating a report.
Use the SQL query
SELECT     UserID, LastVisitDate
FROM         Users
ORDER BY LastVisitDate DESC
And a template that looks something like this:

Uploads big lists to user tables without admin rights

I have an Oracle database which operates like follows:
1) users upload lists of customers/regions/products in their tables using MS Access + ODBC connection (just copy-paste to open window with linked table)
2) they press a button and Pass-thru query returns results based on step 1
Could I move this GUI to ApEx?
Step 2 is simple SQL Report, but how should step 1 be done?
Users should not be allowed to modify database structure, so standard 'upload from file/spreadsheet' is not a good idea..

Could you describe Step 1 in a little bit more detail? Do users paste a list of customers into a text box, click a button, and then see that list? Or are they using the text box as a filter to limit a larger list?
In any of these cases, it's quite possible that APEX will be able to handle this. But some more details would allow us to confirm that it actually can.

You can use program RSUSR200.
On selection screen in block 'Selection by status of the password' select only 'Users with inactive passwords' checkbox.

Query to retrieve list of users who do not have a resource provisioned

I am trying to get a list of user who do not have a particular resource provisioned. I cannot seem to find a table that links the resource object information and User information. I need to generate a CSV file. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas. If so any information would be very helpful.

There is not such a portlet available out of the box...
Have you looked at the code share section?
If you want to develop yourself, I don't think this is achievable using the IDK (remote interface)
But It is definitely possible to create such a portlet using the server API (drawback: the portlet has to live where a portal component is installed - WS, automation or Portal)

I would say that, since the OP has so little info, there are no policies in use. It there were then this question would never be asked the way it is being asked.
I had a client call with a letter from their insurance company; an accountant with malpractice insurance. THey asked the same question inmuch the same way. "What computer can you users access?" The question should be more like
"Do you have a policy that restricts access to computers and do you audit for compliance?"
I have had other clients whose insurance asked the question in that way. It produces a better view of what should be happening and how to show compliance.
I recommend that companies being asked these questions by their legal departments or insurance companies should contract with a god computer security consultant to assist with answering these very tricky questions. Of course if it is just you boss's
curiosity then you may need to discuss his requirements with him in more depth.

Active Directory: user has admin rights when logs in for the first time

I have an Xserve server running OS X server 10.5.8 and trying to host _open and active directory_ for both Mac and PC machines. The open directory works fine but what happens on the active directory side is that, when a user logs in from a windows machine he/she can access all the other users folders. In other words, he/she almost has *admin rights*. Is this normal or there is some settings that I can look into to fix this?
Details: The first time user logs in, his only effect on the server is the password change. What this means is that his changes dont get uploaded to the server. It is only the second time the user logs in from ANOTHER computer that the server starts saving the his profile. Also, after the second login the user doesnt have admin rights anymore.

If you've just changed your login password in Recovery mode, follow these instructions. Otherwise, see below.
At some point, you may have reset your keychain to default in Keychain Access. That action would have caused your login keychain to be renamed.
Back up all data before proceeding.
In Keychain Access, delete the login keychain from the keychain list. Choose Delete References when prompted, not Delete References & Files.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
~/Library/Keychains
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V), and press return. A folder will open. Rename the file "login.keychain" in that folder to something like "login-old.keychain". Rename the file "login_renamed_1.keychain" to "login.keychain". You can then close the folder.
Back in Keychain Access, select
File ▹ Add Keychain...
from the menu bar. Add back the file now named "login.keychain". If any of your needed keychain items are missing from it, also add back the file you named "login-old.keychain". I suggest you transfer any needed items from that keychain to the login keychain, then delete it. The transfers are made by drag-and-drop in Keychain Access. You'll need to enter your password for each item transferred.

Hi,
In BEx query, when you click "Queries" to open the query, the list of queries are displayed. Highlight the query, click on the "Properties On/Off' icon(right most on the top), you would see all the details.
In WAD, before opening the template, click on "Properties On/Off'" icon to see the details.
