Generate Export DataSource from InfoCube In Production System

Software component : BI release 7.0 SP 18
Dear Gurus,
we have a strange situation in our production system from a month till now.
We want to generate an export data source from an infocube to load data into another one but now when we try to generate in prod ( right click on infocube and select "Generate Export DataSource" ) we can't create anymore.
Following message appears :
no changes to repository and cross client customizing object allowed
and the generation is stopped.
We always did it in production system in the same way as in the other system and then transported the update rule or transformation, but now it seems that is no more possible.
No setting has been changhed in SCC4 and in object changeability. Maybe is an authorization problem or is due to any other setting?
Does anybody has a way to solve this problem?

Hi Stefano,
If you want to generate an export datasource you ask your basis team to open the system so that you can do.
As per the Sap Best Practise you can do the export datasoorce in your development system and move it to the quality and after testing you transport to Production.
Generallly if you can look in to production authorizations you may have only some operation like to display only.SOme times basis may give authorizations like creation of DTP and Infopacks like that.

Error while generating export datasource in Test and Prod system

Hi experts,
I tried to generate export datasorce on a cube in teh testing system so that i can use this as a datasource for another cube. I did this so that i can transport all teh relevnt objects from D to T. But Iam gettin teh following erro msg
System setting does not allow changes to be made to object ISTD 80CRM_PRI.
while Prod system produces teh follwoing error msg
Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted
Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'.
After i have done this and when i go to the context menu of teh infocube i can see maintain export datasource option.
Also I couldn't see the infosource generated in Infosources ( FYI I have already done display generated objects under settings)
Can anyone tell me how to proceed further.

Hi DV,
Generally export datasource are not included in the request from the test server. It gets generated automatically when (ODS,Cube) based on which the datasource s transported to production / quality .
I think solution should be try not to include export datasource, infosource ,transfer rules to request from dev server.

Loading master data from another infoObject (generate export datasource)

Hi All,
We are using a 0MATERIAL that is loaded every day, and we would like to use another infoObject that contains data updated every end of last month (and ont daily).
For instance, on 15th april, we would like use data from 31th march and not 15th april.
We saw that we could use "Generate export datasourse" from 0MATERIAL to the nex infoObject.
1) Is there the best solution?
2) If yes, could you explain us how to do this (generate export datasource), because we didn't do this?
3) Do we do this from InfoObject (0MATERIAL) or Infosource?

Hi,
Check : [Generating the Master Data Export DataSource|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/11/1a5038d2c1ba03e10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm] to generate export datasouce.
If MATERIAL is time dependent data then, Use To Date field as selection(31st March) to load data into new infoobject. Restict at infopackage level.

Error while generate export datasource.

Hi Experts,
APO - 3.0A(BW-2.0A)
In APO while creating generate export datasource for a cube, I am getting the following error.
Creation of InfoSource 8XXX for target system BW 1.2 failed - Message no. RSBM 026
Diagnosis - Failed to create InfoSource &v1& for target system BW 1.2.
System Response -
The InfoCube cannot be used as a data mart for a BW 1.2 target system.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Just now I completed it after searching for OSS note. Anyhow thanks for you help too.
Now I am facing a different problem. The generated DM infosource is not available under InfoSource - DM.
I have changed the ODS setting from Hide to Show
also InfoSources - RC - insert lost nodes..
no luck.. any suggestion

What is GENERATE EXPORT DATASOURCE

Hello gurus,
When we right click on Master data infosource we have a option like GENERATE EXPORT DATASOURCE, so what is the significance of that and what actually happens when we press that.

When u click on export data source option, system generates a infosource.
Actually this is required when u want to send data from one infoprovider to another infoprovider in same system or in external BIW system.
In practice some times need comes for sending data from one target to another target. In this situation this is required. Many times u first load data in to ODS and then u send it to cube, this is the typical case you need export data source.
Once you click this, system created infosource from the same. useing this infosource and creating update rule u can load data in to another target.

If you want to upload a cube from another cube or from ODS the source ODS of cube should have generated export datasource. This enables the CUbe or ODS to act as source for someother Cube to feed the data
To Generate export data source Right click on the cube and in the menu Generate export datasource.

Hi,
we are using SCM 4.0 version for running Demand planning.
i have one strange problem. that is, to generate export data source for planning area, there is no option when
right clicking on planning area(context menu).is this option is available somewhere else?. please give me a clue on how to generate export datasource for planning
area in version SCM 4.0? or do i need to do some configurations?.

Hi,
You may try the following:
1) From the menu: Demand Planning->Environment->Current Settings->Administration of Demand Planning
2)From the list of planning areas, double click your Planning Area to display your planning area setup
3) Then from go to the menu Extras->Generate Datasource

Export data from the R/3 system from a ABAP report to BW system

I have requirement to export data from the R/3 system from a ABAP report to BW system.
Currently we are planning to create a Ztable to put the data into that, but I would like to know , is there a better way to do instead of going for a Ztable.

In the second option as you mentioned sending the data to BI.
1. Check when u click on second option what is the target details that is showing?( Menas suppose if you send the data using Open Hub u will find the options like FF,Otherparty,etcc...).
2. As you mentioned if you have option to upload the data to Table.Then you can load and u can create the Generic DS.
Issues & Concern
            1. Need to think how the data will be poplated(Means how are going to maintain Delta info records table level before
               populating to it)
             2. whether Ztable should be refreshed before updating R/3 report data to Ztable.
Based on the concerns verify your scenario.If everything ok then u can proceed as per u r plan.

We are loading 3 standard datasources to PSA and PSA to 3 DSOs and 3DSOs to one consolidated DSO and we have not generated export datasources we are able to load the data, my question is when we use generate export data source.

As per the business requirement for a multiple BI connections we need DATAMART technology and for standalone BI we donu2019t need Datamart technology (generate export datasource)

Export datasource from Cube - PSA shows no data

Hi All,
I need to create an export Datasource from cube.
I right clicked on the cube-> Additional functions-> Export DS and the DS was created.
But when I check the PSA, I see no requests.
But in case of a DSO, we can see all the requests in DSO as requests in the corresponding export Datasource PSA as well.
What am I missing out in case of a cube. Why is there no data in the PSA?

Hi,
But when you make the cube as data source for APO target, PSA won't be exist. PSA is only at first level, it holds source data , i.e ECC Data.
after making export data source, you make connections/transfer rules whatver related APD terms, make it and try to load and see the data is coming right formate or not.

Generate Export Datasource in Production

Hi All,
We have transported our cubes to PRoduction system. When I try to generate export data source I get an error
Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted.
I have set the system change options in SE06 and SE03 as modifable for Customer Name space and SAP name space.
I dont want to open the client for this purpose. because this may be a repitive process and we need to open the production client every time.
Can anybody give their thoughts on this.

Error in generating export datasource

Hello Experts!!
I have generated export data source for an infocube. The system created the data source.
Now i implemented an SAP provided exit in the datasource, due to which one new field 0BCS_REFYP7 is added to the communication structure. This field has the property "Only visible in user exit" set. This field is only added to the datasource and not to the infocube.
Now when i try to assign the 8xxxxx system generated infosource to this datasource, the system throws an error. Because it tries to map this field to a company code field.
So, the condition is, this field is there in the datasource communication structure, but not in the infosource. So, while generating the transfer rules, it gives error.
The error says:
The following errors occured when saving mapping:
Field BCS_REFYP7 will not be delivered from datasource XXXXX in source system XXXXXX.
The data type of infoobject 0BCS_REFYP7 is incompatible with field 0COMPANY.
Can anybody suggest how this can be reslved?? Full marks are assured..

Actually the error is not due to the Enhancement. As i am trying in a server, where the cube is without this enhancement.
Neither the cube nor the datasource have the enhancement field. And their structure is also same..
But even after replicating and generating the datasource, The system does not create the transfer rules.
In rsa1, if i goto infosources, and click to see the transfer rules.. It gives me error "Formula is not available in the table RSAFORMMAP".

Generates Export DataSource doesn't bring any data

I have a Export DataSource generated from a InfoCube full of data, but when I execute the IP it deasn't bging any of this data. When I check it in RSA3 it deasn't bering anything either!
In PROD system the same DataSouce does bring data!!
What do I miss here?

In the InfoProvider Tab, when you right click on any InfoProvider, you have the option to create the "Export Datasource" in order to take the data fomr this provider and bring it any other place and be able to schedule it through the IP.
Yes, the IP is in Full mode, but thing is that even in RSA3, it deasn't bring anything, even though the data is there!

Generate Export Datasource

Hi All,
While activating an ODS object, I got the error The creation of the export datasource failed. I tried activating the entire source system and replicated it. But still I am facing this issue. I checked the ODS in RSRV also. There it gave me the error Number of rows for active program and temporary program are different". I am facing this issue for newly created ODS objects also.
Can someone throw some light on this?

Welcome to the board..
There are few considerations with your issue
1)Occured Because of Space issue Just check the space statistics in DB02 with the help of BASIS
2) Connectivity..
3) Just try in rsa1 Settings--->display Generated Objects >selct show generated objects->Continue..
4) Activate u r ds with the programe "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL"
