Get certificate error trying to access yahoo mail, and there is no exception to bypass the error.
I am getting a certificate error trying to access https://mail.yahoo.com. Unlike most other certificate errors, there is no option for "I understand the risks" to add an exception for the page, just the following:
mail.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
I tried setting the proxy to "no proxy" under Advanced settings, as well as clearing all cookies and other cache history. Did not resolve the problem. I cannot access my email.

Getting security certificate error message when accessing Yahoo Mail.
Whenever I navigate to the login page for Yahoo Mail I get a "sec_error_expired_certificate" error message. It says the certificate expired today, 11/29/11.
I do not get this error when I try to login through Internet Explorer.
I also recently experienced this issue when trying to login to Facebook.
I use AVG free anti-spyware as well as Spybot Search and Destroy. I run multiple scans daily and have had no negative reports (nothing found).
What do I need to do to resolve this issue? Any help would be very much appreciated.Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

I presume that the reason why it takes so much time for Firefox to load and then for me to get responses is because my Internet access if by dial-up. I need a less rich, or complicated, version of Firefox. The previous version was okay in terms of speed. What can I do to speed up the processing. Is it because I downloaded the version from the Yahoo website?

Using WindowsXP, and e-mail via Yahoo,browser is Firefox 4.0.I get the following error message when accessing yahoo mail site:"http://us.f831.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?action=welcome&yy=1782408664&.rand=0qrsdp1o...Windows can not find(the above address is inserted here).make sure you typed the name correctly,and try again". After this message is displayed on my desktop it begins to fade,and the inbox of my yahoo mail is then displayed..I am able to work all functions of the mail without problems.( I might add at this point that i access the mail program via a desktop icon).When I close out of the program the error message box with the error described above is displayed again on my desktop.I must click on the "X" to remove it.I can access my yahoo mail via Internet Explorer with no problem,as well as accessing via my yahoo home page.

Downloaded Firefox 4.0, to Dell Lat D630 on 4/9/11
Get server error 404 & can't access Yahoo mail.
It opens with Explorer & on networked desktop with Mozilla 3.6
tried all fixes suggested by Support @ Customer Service
No resolution to the access problem today 4/21/11. Do I reinstall 3.6 & delete 4.0? I understand this access problem is common to 4.0 users.I did some additional testing through Proxy 4. All web sites and web pages including secure sites that I tried accessing over the past couple of days all appear to work fine with the exception of the forementioned sites. Access to these specific web pages (which I cannot currently access) are part of our day-to-day business requirements, and therefore will prevent me from using Proxy version 4.0 as our production proxy unless I can figure out why these web pages won't load, and how to fix the problem.
As an experiment, I tried to access these web pages through Proxy 4 with Mozilla FireFox and Netscape 7. None of these web browsers (including Internet Explorer) will bring up these web pages when going through Proxy 4. But bypassing the proxy or going through our v3.6 proxy works fine for these web pages everytime, and with all browsers. This leads me to believe that this web page access problem is not a browser specific problem, but something in Proxy 4 isn't processing the request to display the page properly.
As a reference, the web site in question is http://www.sunlife.ca. On the left hand side of the page go to "Sign In" then "Plan Members". Thats where the request hangs through Proxy 4 no matter which browser I use, including Netscape... but works perfectly fine with Proxy v3.6.
Can someone who is running a version 4 Proxy also please try to access the SunLife Members login page and see if it works or fails for you?

I have Yahoo mail (POP) account. Mine is working fine at present. I do occasionally get asked for password while sending mail. I have had your issue in the past and it usually clears up in a few hours. Sometimes I sign out and then back in and it starts working again.

Here's how I got it working again.
Apparently my 6 letter password is no longer acceptable. You need to update it to an 8 letter password that includes numbers and capital letters.
So I went to https://iforgot.apple.com and asked to reset my password.
Because I could still get my emails logging into iCloud with Safari, I responded to Apple's email, and created a stronger password.
Than I updated the passwords on my computer's Mail program, iPhone, and iPad (and of course everything else, iTunes, etc.).
That was it!
Everything works as normal again, I even was finally able to synchronize calendars over different computers again.
Try it out, it could be your issue as well. -

First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone. -

I have latest version of FireFox 19 and Snow Leopard. I get the same error message on Safari and Google Crome aI even downloaded another Browser for Mac still got he same error message ! I have used the Disk Utility to repair files and rest Safari. I have deleted Firefox then downloaded a fresh version, still the same error messages ! Once again, I am trying to download Yahoo messenger and It only has tips for Internet explorer We only have Firefox (mozilla) installed and so I need help getting around this in order to install.
And they do offer a compatible version. As I am running running Netflix on my first generation iPad just fine.
You'll need to first "purchase" the non compatible version either on a newer device that can run it or on a computer running iTunes using the Apple ID that is on the first Gen iPad.
After that is done, you should be able to go into the App Store App, and find Netflix under the Purchased Tab. Tap on it to download it and you should be warned its not compatible, but will be offered the compatible version.

Hold off on purchasing stuff. I got my problem solved going through Apple Support for free. I'll try to walk you through this but bear in mind I've only done it once with an Apple Tech Support manager on line.
Basically you have to clear your keychain. Go to Finder Menu, Select Go, select utilities, select Keychain Access
Once you are in keychain access you may have to enter a password to unlock the keychain
Once unlocked, select preferences and then reset my keychain.
This is where I am fuzzy on what we did but as I recall that was all that was necessary with respect to the keychain access.
Save the changes
Go to the mail program, delete your existing account
Add a new account
De-select the option to automatically set up your account (VERY IMPORTANT)
Enter your email account info for @me.com
On the incoming mail server page
Enter the account type as IMAP
Enter the account description as iCloud
Enter the incoming mail server to imap.mail.me.com
on the outgoing mail server page
Enter the account description as iCloud
Enter the outgoing mail server to smtp.mail.me.com
Check use only this server
And your problems SHOULD be solved
If I were you, before messing with the Keychain stuff I'd try editing the incoming and outgoing server address in the mail program first to see if that's a shortcut.

I keep trying to access my mail via the MAIL icon on my MacbookPro but it keeps rejecting my password. It worked find an hour ago but all of a sudden it won't work. I tried deleting the acct and re-adding it but still the same problem. The odd thing is I can send no problem.
I am an AOL user and am entering it correctly but it keeps rejecting I can access my acct via aol no problem
Okay now it's effecting my Iphone and Ipad accts.
Please advise?So far as I can tell this is a server overload problem and Apple is working to fix things. I have had the same thing all morning and just now it cleared up, though not with AOL, but my iCloud mail. I was, of course, typing in the correct password, so the error message one keeps getting is very misleading, as the rejection has nothing to do with the PW. I think if we are all patient things will straighten out through the day. My mail is okay as of noon, crossing my fingers, but at least it is nothing I did wrong.
