Hello FranBNYC
It sounds like a permissions issue with your library, check out the article below to check and make sure that things are set correctly.

can anyone helpLaunch iTunes on your new computer then from the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Try syncing.
If that didn't work, deleting the photo cache helped for the same issue here > https://discussions.apple.com/thread/997075?start=0&tstart=0

I have just installed itune on a windows 8 OS and am am trying to sync my iphone but it cannot import photos and come up with the error message "you do not have enough access privileges for this operation"
Hey there Opal4,
It sounds like you are unable to use iTunes due to this error message about not having enough access privileges. According to the following article you may need to change the permissions on the file directly:
These messages occur if permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or on a folder inside your designated music folder. Permissions are settings that determine who can read, write to, or execute a file or folder on your computer. Every file and folder on your hard disk has an associated set of permissions.
Example: If permissions are correct on your Music folder, but incorrect on the U2 folder inside your Music folder, you would be able to add other music to your iTunes library, but not that new U2 album.

The iphone cannot be synced. you do not have enough access privileges for this operation
The iPhone"Kyle's iPhone" cannot be synced. You do not have enought access privileges for this opperation. what do i do?
Thank you.
I actually figured it out a while ago.
Turns out it is not an issue with the iPhone or iTunes.
By process of elimination I deduced it could be a permissions issue with the hard drive and/or folder that holds the contents of my Music Library.
For example, if the "Sharing & Permissions" settings (found in the "Get Info" Window) are set to "Read Only" on the internal or external drive that contains your Music Library for iTunes then you can not write to the disk. Therefore, you do not have privelges to make changes to the internal or external drive and you get the error message when you try to sync with the information on that drive.
Here's the kicker and million dollar questions:
How did the "Sharing & Permissions" settings get changed on my Hard Drive without me doing it?
Why did my iPhone sync fine yesterday and suddenly today the Hard Drive is doing this?
I have to set all priveleges to all drives to "Read & Write" and that just doesn't seem very secure to me. -
When I try to sync my iPhone, I get the message: The iPhone cannot be synced. You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation.
The iPhone won't sync anymore. How can I fix this? This works even for my ipod on my computer. I recently time machined myself and when i open intunes it always does all that backgroud magic and pops up saying "....You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation."
It turns out i don't need that, because i do not use sync. I do not sync. I don't use the sync. I abstain from getting my sync on...etc.
The first solution posted above works, i'll repeat it but credit goes to King_Penguin a true friend from the motherland! Just find this one file and delete it.
YOU LAZY APPLE DEVEOPERS NEED TO FIX THIS ISSUE!
"I've found this which may (or may not) help : http://www.itjungles.com/iphone-tips/fixed-iphone-sync-error-you-do-not-have-eno ugh-access-privileges-for-this-operation . There's also this thread where the person had the same problem (though on Mac not Windows) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=997075"
I'll save you the legwork, heres what you'll find at that first link, and it works. Win the game!
"When iTunes attempt to perform a photo synchronization for the first time it will try to create a folder on the computer called "iPod Photo Cache". You normally can located at:
>User>Pictures>iPhoto Library>iPod Photo Cache.
To fix this error just delete the folder." -
iPod Classic 80GB. Message reads ' iTunes library cannot be saved you do not have enough access privileges for this operation'. It says it has synced but it hasn't. Please help, I am not very tech minded.
See this article about troubleshooting the error message regarding access privelages. It may be preventing your iTunes library from being able to save/retain music you have recently imported to it, which may explain why no new content is being added to your device.

the iphone cannot be synced. you don't have enough access privileges for this operation
contacts ,calander and notes get syncronised but apps do not . at 4 stage above message comeIf you still want to sync your photos try this instead:
1. Go to the Pictures folder in the Finder window (Pictures usually appears under Favorites in the sidebar of the Finder window)
2. **Locate the iPhoto Library file and Right click on the file and select Show Package Contents.
3. Locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete it.
4. Try the sync process again, it should work.
** Sometimes the iPod Photo Cache folder is simply in the Pictures folder and step 2 is not necessary -
IPod cannot be synced You do not have enough access for this operation
Hi,
We have one computer. My daughter & I have our own seperate user accounts via Vista through which we each have our own ITune accounts. ITunes music appears to be filed through C>User>Music>ITunes/ITunes Music (User being both myself & my daughter).
I have tried copying music from User Me to User daughter, but I keep getting the following message: -
*The User Ipod cannot be synced. You do not have enough access priviledges for this operation.*
Can anyone help me please? The music is legitimate either from ITunes or other audio CD's.
An idiots guide to correcting this would be appreciated.
Thx againAre you trying to use two itunes libraries on one iPod? If I'm not mistaken, you can't do this. You can try adding the songs from her library to yours and then syncing. It's just a guess so I may be completely wrong. There may already be a thread that addresses this so if you haven't tried already you should do a search to see if anyone else has already covered this topic.

keep getting '' the itunes library file cannot be saved. you do not have enough access privledges'' when ever i try to add or change my library, why? have tried several suggestions on the internet to stop this from happening but with no success. i am running windows 7. has started happening since installing new security software. would this have anything to do with this problem? any suggestions
The location of the iTunes Library file may be read-only or owned by a different user.
Default locations:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<login>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
Vista: C:\Users\<login>\Music\iTunes
Windows 7: C:\Users\My Music\itunes
Right click the iTunes folder and choose Properties
Look at the Attributes and see if Read-Only is checked.
Uncheck it and click OK, at the apply to all subfolders and files prompt, make sure all subfolders and files is selected and click OK.
If your iTunes library saves now you are done.
If it does not you will need to try on each directory above the iTunes directory.
Of course if you are not using the default locations you'll have to alter the path to the one you find in iTunes Edit->Preferences, Advanced tab. -

Maybe you can help me with another issue i'm having with itunes album D/L of Sgt. Peppers album purchase. I got nowhere with iTunes support, but everytime i click on "check for available downloads" from the Store menu in itunes, i get the following error: -
I keep getting this message. It just suddenly started happening!
Actually, yes I used to have MS Antispyware installed, but now I have uninstalled it and upgraded to the Windows Defender program, which was supposed to be a replacement.
good lord.
okay, we would get some reports of people getting an "you don't have enough access privileges" message with regard to setting itunes as the default music player if they had MS Antispyware beta running during an itunes install.
let's try an experiment. try switching Windows Defender off prior to opening itunes.
do you still get the access privileges error message?
love, b -
A window keeps appearing stating " The iTunes Library cannot be saved. You do not have enough privilages for this operation". New purchases and CD down loads are able to be saved to my iPod but not to my PC?
