Get name from Outlook Global Address List and other info

Hi, I hope somebody can help me. I'm new in Acrobat scripting so I need some more Help.
I have a link that executes a script that will send an e-mail message.
This is my script:
app.mailMsg(true,"[email protected]","[email protected]","","This is the subject","This is the body of the mail.");
I noticed that when executing this script, Acrobat opened the Outlook Global Address List to verify the e-mail accounts; which is great.
Now, I'd like to know if there is a command that does this:
1. (before opening Outlook new message window) Open a window asking for the recipient e-mail address.. with the possibility to get it from the Outlook Global Address Book
2. Open a second window asking the same as above but putting the e-mail address in the "CC" field.
2. Finally, the New Message window appears with the "to", "cc", "subject" and "body" fields filled.
I'd really appreciate your help.
Also.... is there any other command to get date and hour in a variable?
Thanks :)

Hey Cristian,
I'm interested in your link script. How do you use it? In what program are you and where do you put the actual script?
Thanks,

  • Connecting to Outlook Global Address List

    I have an application which needs to email the contents of a record to one or more people in our Outlook Global Address List. I would like to present the user with the GAL so he/she may pick the recipient. Anybody done this?

    Tyler,
    Since having read about your implementation, I've built an AD package with many functions that are very useful in ApEx. I was previously unaware of pipelined functions - I thank you for that.
    As for the 1000 limit... This is something that you'll run into in a large company. For example, if the filter used was on samAccountName, and the user just types "a" well chances are that there are many people that have a name with an "a" in it. I don't necessarily want to display that many results, but when a filter doesn't limit the result set down that's just what you get.
    You are correct that the 1000 result limit is a setting on the LDAP server, but VBScript has the ability to set a "page size". This allows the code to work past the limit without issue. I'm not sure if we have that in DBMS_LDAP.

    Dan

  • Outlook Global Address List question

    Hello,
    We have changed our company name and I have updated all our users in Exchange 2007 so they have the new email address, but when users open their Outlook clients (2007-210) and click on the Global address list it will show "Global Address List - [email protected]"
    instead of "Global Address List - [email protected]"
    I I recreate the uses Outlook profile is will then show the users correct name, but I can' do this for 100s of uses, is there a workaround?
    Thanks

    mail enabled user, and mailbox enabled user are two different things.....
    You need to look at what that 3rd party piece of software is doing.  If it is manipulating Exchange mailboxes, then it needs to use the Exchange cmdlets.  Directly ripping attributes is not how this is tested or supported.  Please get them
    to use the proper Exchange tools to manage Exchange recipients.

  • Updating Global Address Lists and its corresponding attributes

    What do these attributes have to do with the updating of global address lists?
    1.msExchAddressBookFlags
    2.msExchModerationFlags
    3.msExchProvisioningFlags
    and what exactly happens with showInAddressBook when hide from address lists are selected or unselected??

    Hi,
    1. MSExchAddressBookFlags attribute is a flag about the default address list to display for Outlook users address lists. When the value is set to 0, the user would set Contacts as the default address list, when the user opens Address Book, it firstly displays
    user’s Contact.
    2. MsExchModerationFlags attribute on the Distribution Group indicates if sending the auto approval to senders.
    3. About the msExchProvisioningFlags attribute, there is no official article explaining it. Your understanding will be appreciated.
    Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Global Address List and Address Book

    I have MS Exchange server 2007 and Active Directory at my school. I have moved all of my teachers to Mac and everything is right with the world, until this morning. I noticed that the global address lis in Active Directory does not show up in the Address Book application, which means that educators can't use the parent address found in AD in order to make class email lists. I can't find any solutions online. Is there a way to get Address Book to show the Global Address list? The Mail app searches the GAL just fine.

  • Intermittent Issues querying Outlook Global Address List

    we have exchange 2010 and most of our users are on outlook 2013, W7 64bit.
    i cannot figure out why but when our users try to access the GAL when sending a new email it intermittently hangs.. sometimes works perfect.. other times it locks up outlook and they have to use task manager/end program to get out of outlook..
    Any ideas for me?

    Hi,
    I recommend you check if OWA has this issue at first to determine whether the issue is related to Outlook side.
    What's more, I would like to verify if the Outlook connects the CAS for the Directory type in the same site with user's mailbox.
    Hoe it helps.

  • IMessages sent to additional people in address list and other major errors.

    Just noticed a MAJOR security and privacy problem with iMessage last night. Wonder if anyone else has seen the same. Here's the scenario:
    I (3GS, iOS5) receive an iMessage from person A (4, iOS5). At the same time, the iMessage from person A ALSO goes to my wife (4, iOS5). She responds via iMessage since she doesn't recognize the number. The response goes to person A and also appears in my iMessage conversation thread with person A as if I sent it (i.e., appears in blue on the right side of the screen).
    My wife also gets my responses to person A and they all appear in a thread between her and person A (i.e., person A's number at the top of the screen) as if they are coming from her phone (i.e., appears in blue on the right side of the screen).
    Both my wife and I "receive" iMessages from each other that appear as if they are sent by ourself and not the other person (i.e., appears in blue on the right side of the screen).
    Summary: an iMessage meant for me sent from another person, also appears on my wife's phone. She can see the conversation between us under a thread under this person's phone number. If I send an iMessage right to my wife, she only sees it (not person A).
    Some more detail. My wife and I have totally seperate billing accounts. We both share the apple id for appstore purchases. She has her own iCloud account that's different from mine. Also, the first messages between person A and me were text messages (as I was out of the country, no Wifi). The mixup only started to happen when it switched to an iMessage when I got back in the country. Person A only has my phone number and not my wife's at all in his contacts, so there's no way he could have intentionally or accidentally sent the message to both of us.
    This is a MAJOR security and privacy issue. Has anyone else noticed this weird behavior or have any idea how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    JMR

    Under settings -> Messages -> Receive At check what you and your wife have set up there.  You may have duplicate identical phone numbers or email addresses there, which may explain why you both get the same messages.
    Your primary iMessage account IS your Apple ID, so if you both have the same Apple ID (and thus also the primary email address linked to your Apple ID), then you are in fact sending from the same iMessage account.  In that case, your only way to avoid the mess you are seeing is to set up another Apple ID for one of you to use.  An iCloud alias is not goint to change your iMessage account It will allow you to set up distinct "receive at" email addresses, but your accounts will still be the same.
    P.S. the "Caller ID" section there will determine where your messages appear to originate from.

  • Lync Client Can't Download Address List and other problems

    We're currently in the process of testing for a production Lync Server 2010 deployment and we're run into some problems. I've been digging around on the Internet and the Technet forums but can't find a solution to this problem.
    Whenever someone logs in with the Lync Client, they are immediately presented with prompts for user credentials. No credentials work. When you cancel out, you can still chat, but there is an error that says the Address Book can't be downloaded. I've confirmed
    that the SSL certificate works, I've made sure the Kerberos Account is configured properly, I've reinstalled the Web Components, and I've tried numerous other solutions I've found for this issue. Nothing seems to fix the problem. When I try to run test-csaddressbookservice

  • Global Address List for multiple people with same name?

    When writing a new email, I want to add a name from the global address list of my microsoft exchange Contacts group. I select the blue plus button and type in the name. If there is more than one person in my company with the same name, both people will show up. However, Mail is not letting me see the details of either of the two people so I don't know which one is the right one.
    However, if I start from Contacts, Groups, Exchange and type in that person's name, when I select a name, a second screen will show up with the details (email address, title, etc) of the person. That way, I know which one is the correct person who I want to email. Why can't I do this directly from Mail? If I need to send an email to multiple people from the GAL, I don't want to have to search for them via Contacts.
    Thanks!

    I don't know the exact and complete specification of your intended schema...
    anyway, from what I can see in your post, I assume that
    <deed>
        <deed_type>
            <name>Quit Claim</name>
            <value>Sheriff</name>
        </deed_type>
        <deed_type>
            <name>sheriff's deed</name>
            <value>Sheriff</value>
        </deed_type>
        <deed_type>
            <name>Warranty</name>
            <value>W</name>
        </deed_type>
    </deed>would be the "proper" way to go...
    which makes your "deed_type" a complexType, including a sequence of two kinds of xs:string elements : "name" and "value"

  • Excluding disabled and expired users from Global Address List

    There showed a request in my company to remove expired user accounts from the GAL. Is there any way to do it in the filter rules of the GAL? I would practicaly like to exclude them from GAL when they are expired, and include them in the GAL when enabling
    them again, but in an automatic way. Is there any method existing to do that? We are using Exchange Server 2003.
    Thanx,
    Kristian

    Hi,
    To hide from the address list, you can follow the steps below to get this.
    1. Open ESM, expand Recipients.
    2. Click on All Global Address Lists, in the right hand pane right click
    Default Global Address List and go to Properties.
    3. In the Default Global Address List Properties, click preview.
    4. Scroll through a list of users to choose the user you want to hide, right click and go to Properties.
    5. Under the Exchange Advanced tab, check "hide from Exchange address lists"

  • Remove entries from Global Address List

    Hello,
    Does anyone know of a way to remove entries such as orcladmin, portal_admin, sysadmin and other system accounts from the Global Address List? It would be nice to remove them from the GAL, but I don't want to change the functionality of each account. Thanks for the help.

    Nevermind, I figured it out. If you add the line "gal_enableldapsearch = FALSE" to the "[ENG]" section of the calendar server configuration file, it will only put calendar users in the GAL and not search OID for users.

  • Disable Global address list suggestions when composing e mail

    I got a question of one of my users a few days ago pointing out that when using an Iphone with Active Sync / Exchange synchronisation he is not able to disable e mail address suggestions he gets when typing the e mail address in the TO field comming from the Global Address list.
    My user wants to use his personal contacts he uses in Outlook, but does not want to use the Global Address list from exchange. (at least not the automatic suggestions which pop up during typing an e mail in the TO / CC fields when composing an E mail.
    I am able to disable this in the Contract app, but not in the E mail app in IOS.
    It seems that when I enable to sync the contacts I get both the Personall contacts plus the Global Address list, there is no way to set any setting in regard to the contacts here.
    I cannot find any setting which disables the phone of looking up the address I am typing in the Global Address list, having a verry big corporate global address list (we use this in our desktop / outlook environment) this can be verry annoying.
    Anyone who can tell me if I can disable this (or not) and if so point me in the right direction ?
    Thank you

    What device do you have? And what is missing? You Compose a message, choose a name, then they have email addresses missing? or the contact is missing?

  • Default Global Address List

    Hello all. Running Exchange 2010 Standard SP3 and I am having a strange issue right now.
    My Outlook clients (2010 and 2013) can only see the GAL when in cached mode. For some users they are setup with cached mode turned off and in these cases they cannot see the GAL when opening the address book. If they type in a name it will return that.
    Any thoughts on what this could be?

  • Exchange 2007 Global Address List

    I connect to my organisations Exchange 2007 server.
    My address book syncs for my personal contacts, appearing in address book as a brown book icon with an @ symbol.
    However, there is also a blue book icon with an "i" on it. When I click on it, in the right hand pane appears "Search [organisation] global address list", but there are no entries.
    I can access the global address list either through Outlook Web Access (OWA) or Outlook (on a PC), so I know there are entries there. On OWA, my personal entries appear in Contacts, whereas the global address list appears on OWA in address book.
    Any tips on how to access the global address book from within Address Book on Mac?
    Thanks in advance.

    Further update, if I do a search whilst "Search [organisation] global address list" is displaying, it does search the global address list and bring up results from it.
