Get rid of automatic hyphenation?

RH8 inserts a magic hyphen into some words, and this hyphen is not visible in the RH8 editing window nor on the final output UNLESS I happen to scale the window to such a size that the words needs to split itself. I can see the hypen in HTML Editing mode. I do NOT want RH8 to put the special hypen into my words EVER. I want the words to NEVER have the magic character. How can I turn this off?

Hi there
You are saying this is happening in RoboHelp HTML?
I've never seen that happen. Perhaps version 8 brings an undocumented new feature here?
Cheers... Rick

  • How to get rid of automatically created server accounts in iCal and Mail?

I have recently setup an OS X 10.6.2 Server for our small office. I got the domain name wrong in the initial install and fixed this by doing a complete clean reinstall of OS X 10.6 server (then upgrade to 10.6.2).
The problem is that one of the OS X 10.6.2 clients had been setup to talk to the server prior to the rebuild. Now on this client, I cannot work out how to get rid of or change the automatically created server accounts in iCal and Mail - everytime you login, these are recreated using the old domain name (and of course don't work).
In Mail if you remove the server account (from Accounts in Preferences), it just pops back again. I even removed every trace of the old domain name from the apple.com.mail.plist file but when I re-open Mail that darned server account (with the old domain name) just pops up again.
In iCal its slightly different in that you can remove the account and it stays away while you have iCal open. But as soon as you close and re-open it, that server account just pops up again!
I thought it might be something to do with Kerberos and found a Kerberos file on the client which had the old domain name throughout it - I changed all these references to the new domain name, but still the same behaviour in Mail and iCal.
This is doing my head in. Any ideas?

  • How to get rid of automatically created Mail and iCal accounts on client?

I have recently setup an OS X 10.6 Server for our small office. I got the domain name wrong in the initial install and fixed this by doing a complete clean reinstall of OS X 10.6 server (now upgraded to 10.6.4).
The problem is that one of the OS X 10.6.4 clients had been setup to talk to the server prior to the rebuild. Now on this client, I cannot work out how to get rid of or change the automatically created server accounts in iCal and Mail - everytime you login, these are recreated using the old domain name (and of course don't work).

I have the same problem. Every time that I open iCal on the client a new account is created and an error message shown that I cannot login. I can delete the wrong account in the iCal preferences. However, as soon as I restart, the account and the error message are back.
How do I "unbind" and "rebind" a client? I searched the "Mac OS X Server
Open Directory Administration Version 10.6 Snow Leopard" but the only reference to "binding" seems to be in the context of Active Directory which I don't have.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Can't get rid of automatic request for server connect.

When loggin in the computer tries to connect to an other computer in the house (the last time the computer was connected to this server (other comp.), it could not disconnect, and since then it tries to connect again by login). How do I get rid of this. As far as I can see, there is no loginscripts, automatorscripts, launchitems or anything that can be the course of this request.
    Any surgestions??
    Regards Bo-T

    I have this same problem.
In my case, I was unable to set up my home network because my computer would not show the connected server in the Finder window. In order to Screen Share, I have to use the "Connect to Server" command in the "Go" menu.
In searching for a solution to my problem, I found an elegant workaround that enabled me to automatically connect to my server on login. Normally, this can be accomplished from System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items, but I couldn't find my server there (it wasn't appearing there, either). You might look in this area to see if there's a server being automatically connected there.
Since then, however, I've had to change the IP address for my main (G5) server, which also changed its name in the "Connect" box. This is a long way of saying I now have the same problem, where my computer tries to connect to my old server IP address, and I get the same error as you do.
I've been trying to find the post with the workaround to remember how I was able to do this, but have been unsuccessful.
I'm hoping someone will be able to provide the workaround; it might solve both of our problems.

  • How to get rid of automatic indenting of 1st line of paragraph?

I am somewhat new to this, have taken a RH8 course, but I'm baffled. When I generate any type of output, the first line in a paragraph is indented a wee bit. I am importing a FM 9 file (but don't believe the problem stems from FM; I have checked the paragraph tags). In my CSS, text-indent is set to 0.000pt. If I look at the HTML source, there are three non-breaking spaces that cause the indent I don't want. Anyone know at what point these get generated? They seem to just show up out of nowhere. Please tell me - what am I missing?

Hi, the only thing I can think of as the reason you are getting non-breaking spaces (i.e.  ) is if you have spaces in your FrameMaker paragraphs. Please check your source FrameMaker files and even do a search for three spaced by selecting Edit > Find/Change. Enter 3 spaces in the Find box by pressing the space bar three times. Once you find these and delete them, save the file and "update" your files in RoboHelp, this indent should be removed.
Please let me know if this works.

  • Getting rid of Automatic Categories in Public Site Manager

In transferring all of the existing content from the Smithsonian Folkways iTunes U site, I've noticed some features of the new site are locked in place. In most cases, the locked-in features can work for Folkways. But the Categories section is totally useless to us because we don't categorize our content using things like Fine Art, Science, Math, Language. All of our assets are music. I am creating specific categories for Cultural Heritage (things like Hispanic Heritage, African American Heritage), using tags.
I've ensured that every one of our assets is without a Category. None of our videos or albums are associated with any of the standard apple categories like Fine Art or Math. But the Categories section still appears when I preview the new landing page, and for some reason some of our assets are still listed under apple's categories.
Anyone have any idea how to turn this feature off? Or create some kind of bypass. It says that if fewer than 2 of our assets are categorized, then they won't display them. Why isn't this working?

    Try setKeySelectionManager(null);
It might not work and give you NullPointerExceptions.

  • AFter the latest download, my e-mail service keeps getting a bar at the top "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". I have to keep hitting the "Allow" link? How do I get rid of this?

Ever since the last update, I'm having problem accessing my e-mail account. I keep getting an annoying bar at the top of the screen "Firebox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." I have to keep hitting the allow button, sometimes twice. And when I do get into the accounts the bar jumps in and out every time I open a new e-mail, or delete and old one.
How do I get rid of this. I've had this account for years, with a very reputable private e-mail provider. This is nuts.

    See:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Perhaps you are loading a template that has a text block already on it.
You might try the blank template option and set that as your go to template in your preferences

  • Is there any way to get rid of this stupid feature in iTunes for Windows? You've subscribed to a podcast but have more than five unplayed episodes. iTunes will stop automatically downloading newer episodes.

s there any way to get rid of this stupid feature in iTunes for Windows?
You've subscribed to a podcast but have more than five unplayed episodes. iTunes will stop automatically downloading newer episodes. You may get the following message:
iTunes has stopped updating this podcast because you have not listened to any episodes recently. Would you like to resume updating this podcast?
You can click Yes to continue downloading additional episodes. Or you can just listen to any part of any episode and a new episode will download at the next update.

I believe that feature was added in order to reduce wasted costs to the Podcaster.
Podcasts incur costs - that have to be paid for, by someone. That cost will be the cost of hosting the Podcast on a server somewhere and more crucially (with regard to your point), the cost of the Podcast being downloaded to your computer. Every download costs the Podcaster money (typically, charged by bytes downloaded).
If that Podcaster pays for the whole thing personally, obviously they want to keep down any unnecessary cost to themselves. If the Podcaster is earning money for his or her Podcast (typically from advertising within the programme) then obviously, the advertiser only wants to pay for advertisements heard by listeners. So a download, not heard by the downloader, is waste of the Podcaster's money or no payment from the advertiser.
My own experience is that I only have to resume downloading once per programme. I'm usually several episodes behind on two different Podcasts that I follow, but I do not recall having to repeat the resume Podcast after that first time.

  • How do I get rid of an app that has an automatic weekly charge

How do I get rid of an app that that I don't want that I'm being charged for automatically each week?

There are instructions on this page for managing and stopping auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If you also want delete the app from your iPad (you will also need to stop the subscription, just deleting an app won't do that) : press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

  • Automatically created a standalone WLan account - How to get rid of that?

    Dear all,
my computer has automatically created a standalone wireless account by the name of "Homeinternet" which is of course open and unsecured. I did create an account previously to access the internet.
How do I get rid of that "Homeinternet" account? What could have possibly triggered that action?
Does it have something to do with Home groups on my computer?
I'm thankful for any help or good advice.

By account I mean the wireless network I have created on my computer and configured on my router beforehand. That network works fine and there's no problem with that. When checking the list of available wireless networks I see my network and those of my neighbours. The only problem is, there is a second wireless network obviously connected to me which is open and unsecured and doesn't show on my computer unfortunately so that i could delete/deactivate it. I never created that second, fake wireless network but it definitely is connected to my computer. Each time I log on, it appears, same thing when I log off or turn off the router.
As it doesn't show neither on my router or my computer I wonder what I have to do to get rid of it. Do I have to reset my router or is there a way to make invisible wireless networks visible in order to delete them somehow?!
I wouldn't mind much about it if I was sure it's not connected to me in a way, but it is unfortunately.
Could it have something to do with Home groups or wrong settings for Home groups?

  • HT2905 How do I automatically get rid of iTunes titles that don't link to any file? I have many duplicates and only 1 that "works"

How do I automatically get rid of iTunes titles that are not "linked" to any file. I have multiple listings and only 1 or 2 that "work" for many songs...?

Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. If you can't get it downloaded, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Download FAQ web page and ask them if they'll remove the item from your queue for you.

  • When i restart comp 2 windows open automatically, how do i get rid of this?

when i restart comp 2 windows open automatically, how do i get rid of this?

Check your System Preferences to see what items you might have set to Startup when the computer is started.
System Preferences > Users and Groups > Select your User Name > Click on Login Items > Select any item you do not want to startup automatically > click on the Minus sign in the bottom left corner.
If the items that seem to open automatically are windows that you had open before shutting down the iMac or before selecting Restart those windows will open again when the computer starts.
