Getting a Windows 8.1 Disk for Recovery

I bought this notebook just one week ago, and just before a few hours my operating system has crashed due to some reasons, i am unable to recover it back.
Also took help of a technician and got the answer that Original Windows 8.1 DVD is needed to get your system back to work again.
But i have'nt received any Windows 8.1 installation DVD in the box with my Notebook PC.
I need a windows 8.1 installation disk to get back to work on my notebook.
What now ?

No DVD installation disc comes with many machines (including ours) now. It's still under warranty, please talk with him (is he from HP ?) again to get a new set of Recovery DVD's (or USB media) or contact HP: In the US:

For normal computer, we only have Windows 85, 98, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and now Windows 8.1. Probably you need a recovery discs set for your machine. Windows Vista install disk for my Mac?

I have just installed Windows vista onto my Mac but when using boot camp it only gives me the option of creating a Windows 7 install disk. Does anybody know where I can get a Windows Vista install disk? Thanks

No doubt if you Google for it you will find vendors. Check with amazon.com, too.

and the solution was to disable the file OldFilm.AEX

After I posted post 2, I saw your other thread where you wrote about using Premiere Elements 12/12.1
Is Adobe force you to buy a update by stopping your old one? It doesn't work anymore.
The deleting or disabling of the OldFilm.AEX file has seemed to be the solution for the No Disc error specific
to Premiere Elements 13. So, I would ask, "What was the solution that you found for your Premiere Elements 12 No Disc?

As long as you use your Apple ID to purchase it, I don't see why they wouldn't let you download the installer on one of their Macs and put it on a pocket drive.
Or, a friend with a high speed connection?

Call Apple technical support. They can probably sell you a new set of the original disks for a reasonable fee, if your iMac did come with installation disks (Macs that shipped with OS X 10.7 or 10.8 did not come with disks).

Windows Vista reinstallation disks for my 7387 A11 whose hard drive died

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Just over three years ago I bought a Lenovo 3000 J Series, model 7387 A11. Last weekend my hard drive began failing to the point that it wouldn't let the machine boot. So I bought a new PC and hooked up the failing hard drive to it as a secondary drive.  With much coaxing and rebooting I managed to copy all the files on the main partition of the failing hard drive to my new PC's primary hard drive. Yea!
But now I've bought a new hard drive to replace the failed one in Lenovo machine, and am stuck at the stage of getting the machine to recognize the new hard drive, since it has no operating system.
I read on one of these threads that one option would be to call Lenovo and ask for reinstallation disks for the Windows Vista operating system. So I called the phone number, but the message there says that since I'm out of warranty I should try to get help on the Lenovo website. So here I am.
Can you help me?

After the reinstallation, it shows these 2 hard drives separately..
As the spec above shows, that model has a single physical hard drive. What you are seeing are partitions in that drive. This Toshiba article explains what they are for.
   1.46GB partition and other small partition are for the System Recovery Options and the factory softw...
I tried to use the Windows Disk Management menu (in he control panel) to combine them, but that failed. I then tried again using the command line Diskpart command, but it gave an error that it couldn't merge partitions from separate disks. So is there any way to combine them back into one volume..?
Best to leave those partitions alone to function as designed.

I have purchased my laptop model which is Toshiba Satellite A200-1M8 in year 2007.
I want to know first:
If i'm able to upgrade it for free or for money according to Windows Vista to Windows 7 upgrade thing you offer, if yes to which Version of windows 7 it will be upgraded (Home, Professional, etc..)
If not, can I order Toshiba to make a Recovery DVD for Windows 7 specially for my laptop version and if yes, to which version of Windows 7 will toshiba give me?

As you can see a free upgrade is only possible on notebooks purchased from June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010.
Furthermore your model isnt Windows 7 supported. There is only a limited driver support for a clean Windows 7 installation and so you cant get a Windows 7 disk from Toshiba.
But all these informations are already on the Toshiba page ;)

I have bootcamp and I know to hold the options key after each restart to change, but my question is where can I get a Windows 8 disk that it ask for (it ask for windows 7 but the apple guy told me windows 8 would work). When you buy the Product Key from the Microsoft Store, the Download Manager (.exe) when run allows you to download an ISO image. An ISO image is a software disk image of a physical CD/DVD which can be burned to a physical CD/DVD depending on size.

When you download Windows from Microsoft Store, you have two options: You can download a collection of compressed files, or you can download an ISO file. An ISO file combines all the Windows installation files into a single uncompressed file.
If you choose to download an ISO file so you can create a bootable file from a DVD or USB drive, copy the Windows ISO file onto your drive and then run the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool. Then simply install Windows onto your computer directly from your USB or DVD drive.
When you download the ISO file, you must copy it onto a USB or DVD. When you're ready to install Windows, insert the USB drive or DVD with the ISO file on it and then run Setup.exe from the root folder on the drive.
On a Mac, once you have the ISO file, you can burn it to a physical DVD using Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD.

Creating a Windows 7 installation disk for S12-ION (and similar)...

In a recent (now dissapeard) thread the subject of creating a backup Windows 7 Installation disk that will work with the Win7 Home Premuim OA key on the sticker on the bottom of S12-IONs.
Unfortunately that thread got stomped on because it strayed off path.
So, I've started this thread to discuss the afore mentioned subject and request that we do not discuss anything outside that that we are legally allowed to do (and I suggest it might be sensible to avoid making any kind of comment that could be deemed to be outside the acceptable usage policy for these forums).
OK, so, does anyone have any further information on this process?
I know we need to start with a (legally obtained) Win7 install disk.
This can then be altered to operate as any given (or optionally all) version of Windows 7 install disk.
However, does the disk that one alters need to be a specific version?
My guess would be that a Windows 7 Ultimate disk is most likely to work, but I suspect all Windows 7 install disks are essentially identical, bar a configuration that one needs to modify.
Now, one could also, at this point, 'slip-stream' the disk to contain specific drivers, or required other software, for the target hardware (in my case, an S12-ION).
Would this be necessary?
What S12-ION drivers/software need to/can be slipstreamed in this way?
I'm sure there are other questions too...
Anyway, I plan to do some research, and will post what I find, but if anyone else knows anything about either of these processes, please feel free to contribute...

'Sweet', as I believe 'the kids' say these days.
Though, I'm still going to look into slipstreaming stuff into a disk - essentially I want what I wish Lenovo provided - one disk with all the base-level drivers and Lenovo management software pre-installed - so I can manage my HDD my way.
@omgmog: it's exactly those *ways* (or, rather, those that are legal) that this thread is here to discuss...
Now, an update on my research: I need to stand corrected on one point - Microsoft haven't made it all that easy...
But, unless Lenovo come up with, I dunno, maybe an iso I can just download and burn to disk, I'm going to keep going and see if I can figure out what the best, most hassle free, way of achieving our legal right is.

According to the product info, my LaserJet CP1215 is supported under Windows 7 64bit:

I am using a Seagate backup plus portable drive on my iMac 7 with OSX 10.9.2. At startup up I always get a popup window stating "The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer. I click ignore and everything seems OK. Is it?

If you installed the Seagate software, remove it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
