Getting backed up iTunes content back into iTunes

I had to recover my computer to factory settings because of a virus. Everything was backed up on an external hard drive using Windows backup. My iTunes content was backed up in the form of a folder with path C:\Users\hp\Music\iTunes\Album Artwork\Download\(followed by a hierarchy of numerical files). The folder was compressed. I extracted it and moved it into Documents. How do I get it into my iTunes library? "Add Folder to Library" in the iTunes File menu does not work.

You may also get more answers if you post your question in the iTunes for Windows forum rather than the iTunes for Mac forum.

I have an iPhone 5, yesterday it wasn't receiving any signal. I reset it and when it cam back on it said plug into iTunes, i did that but now it comes up with error 9006 and 39. What do i do, i have tried different wires, and different plug in holes, I've left it for the night and tired again this morning.

Error code 9006 is related to the computer's security software settings, 39 is not listed inResolve iOS update and restore errors try turning the security/anti-virus software off if you are using something like that.  Then you may need to restore via the recovery mode since that is what the graphic of a USB wire connecting to iTunes means, it has already entered recovery mode...see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for instructions on recovery mode restoring.

You can do it. This article from Macworld will be helpful to you:

    I recommend the "brute-force" method.
Just make sure you have your data backed up properly!

  • Can purchased content (from iTunes) be uploaded into iTunes U?

I suspect that this question has been answered, but I couldn't find the right combination of keywords to find the answer. So the question remains: Can purchased content (from iTunes) be uploaded into iTunes U?

No, you must have the digital rights to the content in order to upload it to iTunes U. Please review the copyright information for uploaded content at http://images.apple.com/support/itunesu/docs/iTunes_U_CopyrightOverview.pdf

  • Can not get a video from my PC into iTunes.

I can't seem to get my video from my PC into iTunes, so I can play them on my iPad. I've tried adding from the library....nothing. I've tried dragging and dropping into iTunes directly from the folder....nothing. Am I over looking something? Please help.

I have an iPad 1 and when I wanted to put a couple of movies on my iPad I found that it would not import them until I reformatted the video from the .AVI they were in to the apple MP4 format and afterward iTunes imported them and I ran the Sync to iPad function and they went right on without any problems.
Hope this helps as Apple doesn't seem to want or care about supporting the iPad 1's. wouldn't have spent the money then if I would have know this would happen since my iPad is not quite 2 years old. I have a 5 year old Dell laptop and they still give total support for it and I paid much less for it !
    Good luck.

After installing the latest of iTunes the original files for almost 300 songs cannot be found for syncing to my iPod. The files are songs that were bought from iTunes, and copied into iTunes from CDs.

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

  • Copy back (sync) iPhone content on virgin iTunes without losing everything

    Hi!
    Reinstalled OS on computer.
Precisely how can I sync my iphone content to virgin itunes 11.1.3 without losing all music and voice memos from my iphone?
Been using iTunes for years but absolutely can't figure out with new iTunes 11... thanks!

    Thanks mende1,
I don't understand why it's such an hassle. What I want to do (synchronize iPhone to computer iTunes) is so simple!
For example : I got around 50 important voice memos on my iPhone. Oldest one from December 2012. No matter what I do, it just copies on my computer iTunes the recent memos (2 weeks ago) and doesn't want to do the same with the oldest ones.
If I select the Music tab / Sync music, it always prompts me this weird message about the fact that my iPhone is synchronized on another iTunes library (which is true) on a computer I bought 3 weeks ago and brought back (and got refunded) to Apple today. It asks me "Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync it with this (VIRGIN!) iTunes library?"
Saved my iPhone and tried this option : TOTAL DISASTER. Had to revert.
Tried the third-party app Senuti : same thing happens. Just shows me new memos to transfer!
I'm getting crazy!! I just can't believe how this can be SO complicated!
    Thanks in advance!
    G

  • After an update, my itunes library was moved to my music file.  I tried moving the file (itunes library.itl) into itunes, it said that the file was locked.  How can I get the file to be unlocked so it can be moved?

Need help trying to get Itunes library back on my Itunes

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recovery use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
    Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.

  • Getting tunes of your ipod and into itunes

HI please can someone help me?
I had my ipod set up with my PC, that then died and I now have a laptop. I need to get my tunes off my ipod and into my itunes on my laptop without having to dowload them all again? Can anyone help? I also already have songs in I tunes that aren't on my ipod?
    Thanks

iTunes has an option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
One other thing, if your iPod is set to sync automatically you need to take care connecting to an iTunes that doesn't have the same content. Open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically" and choose Ok before connecting your device. Don't sync the iPod with iTunes until you have recovered everything you need from it.

  • How to get song off my iPod Touch into iTunes

    Hello,
I just bought a new laptop and I'm trying to get all my music (non of which was purchased from iTunes) into iTunes on my laptop. I've tried a few apps that supposedly do this, but they didn't work and I don't have the option to use my Touch as a hard drive so some directions I found on the net wouldn't work in that situation.
Is there an easy 'free' way to do this with an iPod Touch?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Senuti has just released a beta that does do exactly this. Obviously one accepts that this IS a beta and there are no guarantees, but I tried it yesterday and it caused me no problems. You might want to change the Transfer location in the preferences forst; but then maybe some won't.

  • I can't get my podcasts to be uploaded into itunes.

I keep trying different iterations but I can't get my feedburner feed to show up in itunes
    My podcasts are located here:
    http://www.storystorynight.org
and the feedburner url I am tryign to put into itunes is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/storystorynight/CnUF
I originally tried to build the feedburner link to point to a separate page in the main blog at storystorynight.org but feedburner kept pointing at the primary blog page. So I put all the podcasts onto the main blog page, built a new feedburner feed (the one listed above) but still itunes can't locate the podcasts.
What am I doing wrong? This seems awfully challenging for something that presumably isn't that difficult...

I changed the Podcast Feed URL that I was trying to upload to itunes so that it points to the feedburner page (rather than pasting in the feed address from feedburner).
I am trying this one instead: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/livefeed?id=r47ek5nq0dgmdto751rokett74
This shows the page w/ the podcast titles and if I click on the "Podcast" link on the feedburner page, it shows all of the audio feeds.
The error I get from itunes when trying to add this page is:
"Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on line 847: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>".
I'm not sure that is better - it at least recognizes the link as existing...
My understanding of all this is: the feedburner page should point to whatever blog site I have with all my podcasts, that way I can add new podcasts to my own page every month and the feedburner link will bring the new podcasts to the attention of itunes search...? Is this wrong?
Do I need to create a separate feedburner link for each feed individually?

  • Getting protected wma files to import into itunes

i have a couple of wma files that are protected and will not import into itunes because of the protected content. is there any way around this?

If you are able to burn those protected files to an audio CD, then that audio CD will act like any CD that you would purchase in your local store.
