Getting Error in Report painter

Dear All ,
i am getting an error after i execute a report in report painter,
Getting the following errors,
Characteristic Ledger does not exist
Characteristic Record Type does not exist
Characteristic Ledger does not exist
Message no. GR655
Diagnosis
The characteristic must (message type E) or should (message type W) be addressed in the report definition. This means that a set must/should exist for the characteristic in the definition of the report rows, report columns, or report selection.
For performance reasons, it is important that you limit the value ranges of those key fields located at the start of the database key as much as possible.
Procedure
Define a set for this characteristic in the report.
Note
In Controlling (Table CCSS), different characteristics (cost center, order, project, etc.) are portrayed internally with a common technical characteristic, "Object". In reports, either a specific characteristic such as cost center must be used, or the characteristic "Object" must be used directly. If this is not the case, an error message appears saying that the "Object" characteristic is missing.

Error in report painter with change versión

Hy everybody
I have a problem with report painter. we are an upgrade from 4.7 to 6.0. The reports created in the previous version work correctly and show all data in columns, but in version 6.0, that is not equal to run the same reports they do not show all data. The reports are created using a library that feeds on the table CCSS, I tried creating a library and a report from scratch but still the error continues. Please if you can help me.

Error GR493 report painter/writer with special ledger

Hi ,
I am trying to create a report painter using a table of a special ledger. The table is the one for 'real item'. The following error appears:
'Table ZIFRSA is not installed in Report Writer.
Message no. GR493
Diagnosis
The Report Writer can only report on tables if the attributes of these tables that are relevant for reporting are defined in control tables. This is not the case for table ZIFRSA.'
We are not using intercompany transaction. My question is if it possible to make report in report painter/writer with this table.
I can make report with the total table of special ledger, but not with the one for real item.

Hi Cecilia,
I guess the tables created through SPL should look as follows:
1. ZIFRST - Totals Table
2. ZIFRSA - Actual Line Item Table ( I guess this is what you are calling real item)
3. ZIFRSP - Plan Line Items Table
Bear in mind that, the report is not created off table ZIFRSA but rather ZIFRST. Please create the report writer or report painter using table ZIFRST.
If the above suggestion did not work, then check the solution provided in OSS note 3761.

FinRep 9.3.1: All users getting error opening reports from root directory

We are having an irritating, although not missiion critical error
When a user (any user) attempts to open a report from the explorer view in Financial Reporting 9.3.1, we receive an "_Error 1000165"._ No explanation is provided. No folders are openable within the explorer view except "Personal Page."
It is possible to open reports by opening a report that got accidentally stored in the root directory and then opening another report from the menu system in the usual way. So it is not a user permissions/provisioning issue.
Is there a fix to this? I am afraid someone will clean out the root directory and then we won't be able to access our reports.
Update: I can use the pattern "VariancePercent([B(A)],[A(A)])" to cut this to 27 Columns by varying the direct reference to the column. But is there an easier way to do this?

We have been able to complete the update of our users SSID's in our Planning SQL tables through the utility. We had to create the users in Essbase first though.
However, if I try to log into Planning (through Workspace) I still cannot see the Planning applicaitons I should have access too. In Shared Services if I pull up my network ID and View Report, I do not get any Planning groups to show up that I belong too. I can open the group in HSS and see my ID is in it but when I do the View Report on my ID nothing comes up.
Additionally, if I add a user from scratch to the existing Planning groups that we've migrated and do the View Report they will show up for that user and the security passes through to Planning/Essbase so that I could log on fine. So, the problem is not with adding new users but the existing one's that were migrated. HSS shows the users in the groups but if you view a Report for those users it doesn't look like you belong to any groups.
We are going to apply a patch to Shared Services to see if it helps. It's suppose to deal with Groups that have users from multple domains but one set of those users cannot log into the application they should have access too. We applied this in our stand-alone S9 Essbase environment a couple of months ago to deal with a break between our existing users and groups from HSS to Essbase. Maybe this will be the final piece.

Getting error in Report RPTQTA00

While running the report RPTQTA00 for one employee, i am getting an error messege "You have not selected any generation rules". Whereas I have created the selection rule in table VC_T559L. Please guide me which tables I have to update to get the correct result.

You get this error when no generation rule is assigned to the user.Please can you check using QUOMO feature again that the correct rule is assigned to the employee groupings.
You get this message when Quomo featureis not maintained correctly to select a generation or selection rule for the pernr as defined in V_t559l. Please check this.
In Table V_T559L. PLease check the groupings for the Esg and psg.
You can use report RPTQUOTA_CHECK via transaction se38 to checkthe groupings.

i'm getting the perfect data for all the days, but for a single day in a year the closeing stock and next days opening stock not matching .

Which stock you have taken, valuated stock or total stock ?
Take only one for all the opening, closing and issue stock, then only you will get the perfect match of value.
(i.e: take valuated stock or total stock either one)

It may be unit conversion problem.....Have u maintained units in RSUOM......if not do that to get correct unit values............If u don't want to display units for that field then use NODIM......

Please find below mentioned and overview on report painter and its usage.
The Report Painter is similar to the Report Writer, but is simpler to use. Most of the functions in the Report Writer are also available in the Report Painter. The Report Painter is based on the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) principle.
Report Painter Structure:
Characteristics must be defined in your report, either as data selection criteria, report rows, or report columns. To improve processing time, you should specify all characteristics in general data selection that are not needed in the report rows or columns.
The process flow used for creating reports using report painter can be summarised as following.
Create set->Select library->Define report->Check report->Assign report to report group->Generate report->Execute report

Get Error After Add GL Account In Report Painter

I had add GL code into 2 reports (Cash Flow - Income Statement and Cash Flow - IPC Income Statement) but when I want to execute those reports in the report tree, it come out an error "In element OTHER EXP Jan the system adds quantities and values or different currencies."
May I know how to solve this problem?

Error in starting transaction using report painter

Hi,
We have a problem when starting a z-transaction:
Transaction: START_REPORT
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = RE
D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = FBR 01RFRRS02                       ZDE-PL01
The error message says there's a problem in the generated report GPCDBE7ZKBGDJXRP5IAE2BOUBDM
When I go to se38 and click on syntax chec, the result is this:
          IF RFRRS02-ERGSL EQ '88' "
          AND RFRRS02-GJAHR EQ VAR001 AND
           VAR001"
          AND RFRRS02-VERSN EQ 'EKDE'.
            CLEAR: Z. SP = C00001.
Looks to me like the " is not properly placed.
Maybe it should look like this:
          IF RFRRS02-ERGSL EQ '88'
"AND RFRRS02-GJAHR EQ VAR001 AND VAR001"
          AND RFRRS02-VERSN EQ 'EKDE'.
            CLEAR: Z. SP = C00001.
Then it would be okay.
Or something is missing here. Is there something wrong in the report painter report definition ?

You can get the details from SREPOVARI table.
Give report type as RE ( drilldown reporting ) and extended name as your fbr* and execute.
You can find the tree and based on tree the program.
You can find the report painter program from GRR3 transaction.
