Getting Gmail/Mobile Me Push to work smoothly

I don't know if this has already been discussed but I thought I would share in case anyone is interested. I configured my iPhone to push Gmail using MobileMe, and let you reply as if you are replying from your Gmail account. Here are the steps:
1) Set up your Mobile Me account on your iPhone
2) Set up your Gmail account on your iPhone
3) Go to on the internet and change your Gmail setting so you forward everything to your MobileMe email address and delete the Gmail copy.
4) In your iPhone, go to settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> MobileMe -> Account info -> Outgoing Mail Server -> turn smtp.me.com OFF and turn smtp/gmail.com ON
5) Go to Settings -> Mail, contacts, calendars -> Gmail -> turn account OFF
6) Go to settings -> Fetch new data -> Turn push ON and fetch to MANUALLY
After doing this, all of your gmail will be automatically pushed to your iPhone. In your mail application, there will only be one account (MobileMe) working when you open mail and all your Gmail will go there with the correct original to and from addresses. When you reply, the reply will be from your Gmail account, not your MobileMe account. Note that with this specific setup everything you mail from your MobileMe account will come from your Gmail account - if you want the option to choose which account it appears to be coming from, just go back to settings, turn the smtp.me.com outgoing server back on and turn the Gmail account back on. Now when you send an email from your MobileMe account, it will by default originate your message from MobileMe, but if you just press on the "from" address, you get a drop-down option where you can select your gmail account. This way you can send your reply from either account. Note that this only works with the iPhone Mail application (just like with the desktop mail application). If you use the internet MobileMe interface I think everything appears to come from MobileMe.

I forgot to mention this works with any email account, it's not Gmail specific. If you want to do it with multiple accounts, do the second set-up I described. Then when you reply, you just pick from the drop down box which account you want to reply from.

Cannot get the Mobile Template to work in SharePoint Foundation 2013

Hello all,
I am trying to get the Mobile View to work in SharePoint Foundation 2013. When I access the site on any phone it gives me the following error:
"Cannot complete this action. Please try again."
The URL it forwards me to is "http://<sitecollectionurl>/_layouts/15/mobile/mblwpa.aspx?Url=%2Fdefault%2Easpx
So it seems to me like it's working, but there's something wrong with the template. The template has definitely never been modified.
Can anyone help?

So I've got some more info for this issue. We are seeing:
Control template "Mobile_STS_HomePage_Redirect" does not exist.
Control template "Mobile_1_HomePage_Redirect" does not exist.
Does anyone know how to enable these? I tried by name, but it doesn't find them. This is the error I get:

Gmail push not working since upgrading to 4.0

I have not been able to get my email to push since upgrading to 4.0. I have a 3GS and it worked great until the upgrade. Still have it set to push. Tried deleting itunes completely and then restore of iphone. Still no go. Please help.

I have this problem also. It's really persistent and quite annoying. My Mail is silent like a rock on my iPhone 3gs; it's not pushing email notifications at all. To get new emails, I have to open Mail repeatedly, which defies the very definition of "notification" and "push" I really dislike the 4.0 update. I wish I never upgraded to it because everything was perfectly fine prior to the upgrade...

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPod nano (7th generation) touch screen. I recommend the following steps for the issue you described (you can skip the steps you have already tried):
Touch screen does not accept input
Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
The current application may be unresponsive; try resetting iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons simultaneously for a least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sync with iTunes and restore the iPod.
Issue not resolved
If the issue is still not resolved, please read this information on servicing your iPod.

Not clear what you mean by "getting mobile data to work on my laptop." Do you mean using your phone as a mobile hotspot for your laptop? Did you enable Personal Hotspot in the phone settings. Is hotspot/tethering provisioned in your carrier data plan?

New phone, can't get gmail to work

I'm having problems trying to put my gmail acct on my droid 2. I create a new acct with new password and then I get an error msg. The funny thing is I'll go to google accts and do exactly what they prompt me to do and I still can't enter it on the droid. Weirder still is after I log out online I can't re-access the new gmail account. Anyone else having this problem? Oh and of course, there is no one at google to talk to......

No it is not a stupid question. I tried every possible combination. I even checked the box on googles site about forgot user name. Google sent my user name to my hotmail address. then I went in and reset the password with my user name. So then I tried to set it up on my droid and kept getting an error msg. Went back to google online to login and got an error msg there. Great, by now I'm thoroughly frustrated so I thought I would create a new gmail acct to get it to work on the phone. Same thing happened. Gmail gave me an error msg even though I just created a new acct. So I can't log on my pc or phone and there is no one to contact a google to find out what is wrong.

PUSH notification were delivered to some of the other iOS devices: (iPhone5 / iOS 6.1.4 and iPhone5 / iOS 7.0.3)

Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call? You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

No you won't. You can try, but your order will be canceled.
But, yes, the phone is unlocked. But again, you won't be ordering one.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Downgrading is not an option for an iOS device.

Mobile Connect won't work on Snow Leopard, as you'll have discovered if you're looking here.
1. Insert the modem into a USB port.
2. Open the virtual CD image it makes
3. Control click (right click) the MobileConnect application
4. Select Show Package Contents
5. Open the Contents, then the Resources folders
6. Double click MobileConnect_DrvApp.pkg to run it. use this to install.
7. Double click MobileConnect_DrvApp.pkg to run it *AGAIN*
8. Open System Preferences and select the Network pane.
9. Click the + at the bottom left, unless HUAWEI mobile is already in the list. If not, slect it as the interface after pressing +.
10. Select HUAWEI mobile in the list. Set telephone number to *99# , account to o2bb and password to password
11. Click advanced (bottom right)
12. Set vendor to Other and model to HUAWEI mobile. Click OK.
Click connect and surf.
I am sure that the basic principles will work for any other provider using HUAWEI USB 3G modems.

Push not working on Verizon iPhone

I just got the iPhone on Verizon and got everything set up yesterday evening. I have a .mac mail account and set that up automatically. My email is set to "Push" and I thought that would mean that I would get the email on my phone shortly after it was received on the server. The only way I get mail is when I open the mail app on the phone. Any ideas as to why this is and what can be done to correct this?

Same problem here. Got verizon iphone two days ago, set up google apps email with exchange (suppose to be push), it worked for about one hour and now the emails do not come in (it can take hours), eve when youcheck manually emails still do not come to the iphone. The emails are in my account on my computer but do not come on verizon iphone. I spoke wiyh a friend who has att iphone and he said that when googke syn started two years ago they had this problem but had it fixed right away, he has been using exchange with gmail for his att iphone for years with push email working perfactly......NEED HELP ASAP (otherwise will have to go back to my blackberry)
