Getting ipaddress or host name for virtual server

I want to get the ipaddress or host name for virtual server in a cluster environment. If i do
java.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName()
it returns the ipaddress of the physical node currently running virtual server.
Is there any way to get the ipaddress or host name for virtual server ?

You can get the hostname by clicking on the account properties in outlook, but the port you connect to must be opened by your system admin.

  • DNS host name for virtual IP on WLC 5760?

    Hi all,
Does anybody of you know, if there is a way in setting a DNS hostname for the virtual IP on the 5760 WLC?
The parameter-map does not offer any option.
AireOS based WLCs do offer it in order to see a DNS name instead of the virtual IP when connecting to the captive portal.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Stephen/Patrick,
Can you try and confirm if below works?
    Switch(config)#parameter-map type webauth global
    Switch(config-params-parameter-map)#virtual-ip ipv4 1.1.1.1 ?
    virtual-host Virtual host name
    Switch(config-params-parameter-map)#virtual-ip ipv4 1.1.1.1 virtual-host

  • JRockit_160_05_R27.6.2-20 can not get the correct os name for windows 2008

JRockit_160_05_R27.6.2-20 can not get the correct os name for Windows Server 2008 SP1 using System.getProperty("os.name").
System.getProperty("os.name") will return Windows Vista instead of Windows Server 2008 when running on Windows Server 2008 SP1. Is it a bug of this jdk?
I tested it on Sun JDK 1.6. It returns the correct name Windows Server 2008.
Any suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks in advanced!

where can i see the host name of the unix server ?

SYST-HOST or SY-HOST contain the name of the application server.
You may also use the following internal call to get the actual application server
      call 'C_SAPGPARAM'
         id 'NAME'  field 'rdisp/myname'
         id 'VALUE' field servername.
    For the IP adress
      CALL FUNCTION 'DB_DBRELINFO'

  • Virtual Host Name for CM

    Hi ,
    R12.1.3 & 11gR2 DB
I have a qucik question . When We have Virtual Host Name for setting , What Should be the node name for ICM in Concurrent Manager Admin form.
In One of our Instance : For ICM & Other Manager , its Virtual Host Name
For Other : ICM : Physical Host Name & Other Manager Virtual Host Name .
Which is good. We having a issue with ICM on both Nodes , in every minutes is going down and come up automatically.
    Regards
    Sourabh Gupta

    Hi Hussein,
Thanks a lot. I have already review these document.

I am curious what should be the node name in concurrent manager Administrator form.
W ether is should be the virtual host name or physical host name.
I have just checked with few people , Some Says ICM node name should be Physical server name & Other CM name can be Virtual name. I am not sure on what basis people are saying.
Few says node name should be the physical host for every CM.

  • Changing host name of JDI server

    Hi,
during installation of JDI I used ip-addresses as host names for defining the domain host, the SLD server in domain definition, the dtr server URL in track definition, the CBS server URL in track definition.
I know that one shouldn´t use ip-addresses at all but we did have some trouble with the network infrastructure (DNS-Server, ...) at the beginning and the start of the project couldn´t be delayed.
Now, for any reason, the network department gave our server a new ip-address.
I then opened the CMS configuration tool and tried to change the host names (this time not to ip-addresses because DNS-Server works properly in the meantime).
Changing domain data is no problem. But when I try to save the changes of my track(s) I get an error message that says I should contact my administrator. I am the administrator
    My Questions:
How is it possible to change the host names of JDI tracks?
What is to do at client side? There are already some developers working with the dev. configurations. Is it sufficient to change the according entries in the .confdef file or do the clients have to donwload the new dev. configuration from CMS host?
    Thanks in advance
    Helmut

    Hello Helmut,
it should be possible to change the host names for tracks. You can get more error message details in the trace file of the Engine. To do so connect to your engine with the J2EE Administration Tool  and check the defaultTrace.trc File in the Log Viewer.
For more details how to find this trace information have look into the Change Management Server Problem Analysis Scenarios (Link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/81/4bce4016d28031e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm). In the first Scenario Incorrect Initial CMS Configuration you can also find the general information how to read and find the CMS trace files.
Please open a CSN message for the component BS-CTS-CMS if can not find the reason for the error message or if it is real problem in CMS.
    Best Regards, Michael

  • Host name for OMS

I have Oracle 9i Database installed
When I log into the oracle management server in OEM,
I don't know the <host name> for the Management server
where do I get this info?
I am getting the default of my ISP address!

Try going to an OS command prompt and use the oemctl command to find the status. Go to the link I posted earlier and use your browser's find function to search for oemctl. Since it is on your local machine, use the local command, you shouldn't need a hostname (though multiple oracle homes can happen and be very confusing).
Can't say as I remember much else on your old version, I second the suggestion to use more recent things.

  • How do I "scan" my LAN and find the host name of the server computer?

I need to scan my LAN to find out the IP and host name of the computer in which is waiting for client acceptance because the server side of my program is not always on the same computer. Therefore, the IP and host name of my server is not final and can be placed on any computer on my network with over 50 connected computers. How might I check to see which computer is waiting for a client?
EDIT: I need the host name only, disregard IP
    Thanks!

If you know the port you can try to connect to each of the machines in turn.the people getting firewall warnings about intrusion attempts would just love that, as would the network admins whose network you're clogging with traffic (imagine several hundred clients doing that all day long, let alone tens of thousands).
If they are all one the same subnet you can use the IP addresses.Which you don't necessarilly all know. Or do you propose just sweeping through all possible IP addresses in the subnet's range? That would be a sure trigger for your network admins to immediately kick you out.
This should take a few seconds at most.Until the automatic safeguards kick in and you're thrown off the net :)In that case, what would you suggest? Not to bother. The server address should be part of the application configuration, not guessed at runtime.

  • Active Message When you have invalid host name in Proxy Server

I have an issue with one of our customers.
To communicate with any external parties, we have to define the host name in proxy server(Firewall).
I noticed that when we configure a WCF or HTTP adapter with an invalid host name of https url address, the messages remain active.
I am using ESB Toolkit in my implementation but I reproduced same issue using Orchestration with static port and dynamic port.
I traced the message using Fiddler and I noticed that we only have one hit with Status Code 407(407 proxy authentication required) and it is not retrying which is not a risk to my implementation. However, I consumed a web service using a console application
and I set an invalid host name for url but I noticed there are two hits in Fiddler one is 200 http status code and the second hit 407 http status code and I could catch the exception.
The question is: How to enforce BizTalk to suspend these messages or how to handle these messages?
Note that I did the followings trials but no lucks:
    - I updated retry count to zero
    -  Delivery Notification of the Port is Transmitted
    - updated closeTimeout, sendTimeout, openTimeout values
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Mohan,
You are getting "The remote name could not be resolved" because you are not using Proxy.
I tried to tweak on Retry Count(tried zero,1,2...). I am sure it is not retrying because there is not any network hits or packets in Fiddler or WireShark and messages stay forever.
ESB is not my issue because I reproduced same issue with a simple orchestration consuming a service with a static send port.
    I have the following notes:
    - In console application and Biztalk application using WireShark I can see same number and types of network packets in both cases.
    - I tried to change https url to http with incorrect host name in this time retrying is working and message suspended after exceeding retry count.
    - I tried to use https which is the required one with correct host name and change service name, I could see client OK Hello and server OK Hello and retying working fine and message suspended after that.
I think the issue with handshaking with proxy server because I could not see client Ok and Server ok hello when changing the host name.
There is another thread talking about an issue with active message and handshake.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/736f0f72-ccc9-4a84-802a-7a1ff788a04a/ssl-2way-cert-incident-remains-active?forum=biztalkgeneral
But the question remains open that how we can handle this active message and why BizTalk not throwing an error?

  • Local node not included in the list of host names for grid installation

I'm attempting to install clusterware on Solaris 11 on 2 nodes. I've tried tweaking the /etc/hosts file in a few different ways by including the fully-qualified name and without it for the localhost, but it still gives me this error every time. The runcluvfy.sh script doesn't run on Solaris 11. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
I've tried this using the silent install and with OUI, but got the same error both ways. This is the format of the node names:
    oracle.install.crs.config.clusterNodes=myLocalNode:myLocalNode-vip1,myOtherNode:myOtherNode-vip2

what Oracle Version are you trying to install?

OS team are going change IP address and host name of the server which has ASM and DB.
What are the things we need to follow for this?1. TNSNAMES.ORA files everywhere
    2. LISTENER.ORA on server
If there are thin JDBC clients, change IP/hostname in their connection URLs.

  • Custom host-name for web application SharePoint 2010

I am facing a weird behavior. Can anyone help me regarding this?
    Steps performed:
    1. Created a web application using custom host name.
    2. Created a site collection using "Blank" site template. Nothing issues.
    3. Created another site collection using "Publishing" site template. Authentication prompt came multiple times. IIS logs/Fiddler/HTTP Watch are full with 401 entries.
    4. Added the custom host-name with web server IP in local desktop hosts file(which is in intranet domain). Prompt issue fixed.
    5. Authentication mode set as NTLM.

    Hi DDasgupta,
After you created a web application with a custom host name, if you got a prompt for the user and you may face the following issues:
There is continuous prompt for the credentials
    HTTP 401.1 error
This shows that there is a problem with the Loopback configuration. This situation should occur only when we access the application from the server machine.
For fixing the problem, we have to disable the Loopback value inside the registry.Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and locate the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa, and create a new Key Value of type DWORD inside
it and set the value to 1.
More information, please refer to the link:
