Getting my photos from macbook i photo to apple tv

I've searched for this topic/ question and was unable to find it. I'm sure it's there I'm just unable to find it. I have a fairly new Apple Tv. I would like to put my photos on the apple tv to work with them. I don't have a clue as to how to go about this. Thank you for the help

I can buy movies and they appear fine, but when I rent a movie on MacBook for play on Apple TV, nothing appears in Apple TV under Movies. (And I've updated the firmware on Apple TV).

You may well be right, the opening paragraph seems to support you in the sense that you can watch them on the tv, but the whole issue of transferring it to the tv is a little vague.
In essence it may well be that simply watching the movie via streaming is what most people will want to do anyway, if that is indeed how it works.
If transferring is allowed then I assume this would be a straight transfer and not a sync, since only one device can have the movie at a time.
In my situation my goal would be to rent from the mac and stream it to my tv's since I have more than one of them. If however I have to transfer it to watch it, this then causes a problem. If we assume for the time being that movies can be transferred to the tv but not the other way around, I have no way to move the movie back from tv #1 to itunes to send it to tv #2.
I'm now less certain than I was but I'm still inclined to think that we won't be able to transfer rented content from itunes to the tv, but I have to wonder if this will really be an issue for most of us.

Question about getting rented movie from Macbook to Tv

I rented a movie on my MB yesterday while on the road, today I decided to watch the end of the movie on my tv at home.

setting>computer>add shared itunes Lib>Entered the code on my MB
My MB itunes is showing on TV but can't find the rented movie??/
Clicked on TV in itunes, I get only 2 tabs, Summary and Photos. Under Summary I am missing Automatic Sync or Custom Sync and no Rented Movie frame. No option to choose what movie, music, podcast etc.. I want to sync . Looks completely different that what I obtain on my G5????

Yep - only one at a time. You can stream from more than one though. I have a primary Library that I use for syncing (I only sync photos and all the other content shows up automatically under "My Music, My Movies etc").

How to get digital sound from macbook air?

i know the new air does not have digital output in the headphone jack, but is there another way to approach this problem? I heard there are ways to connect an external sound card to make it work (i'm new to this and not sure exactly how it works). I use to have my macbook pro linked to a Dell u2711 and ran toslink from the Pro, but now I'm on an Air, i have to use the analog output from the monitor which is driving me nuts comparing to the digital quality. Hoping there is another solution. thanks!

Yes. Open iTunes and connect your iPad. Click on the Apps tab in the iTunes main display. Now drag the outermost scroll bar (far right) all the way to the bottom. You should see two list boxes. The one on the right should list the iWork apps. Drag files to box on the right to transfer to the iPad. Displayed files are those on the iPad. The Add button lets you save to the computer, while the Save to button lets you transfer to the iPad.

iTunes will only transfer music from the iPhone that were bought at Apple's iTunes store. You'll need to use a third party program such as Senuti to transfer music you got from other sources.

I recently moved in to my college dorm. I brought my Apple TV, and IT said the only way to hook it up was to directly connect the Apple TV with the ethernet cable in my dorm. That works fine, and I can still access Netflix and the other apps using the cable; however my MacBook Pro does not show that it's available to share it's screen on to the Apple TV anymore.
When I was using Apple TV at home, we set it up through our secured wifi network, and could press a button to share my Mac screen onto the TV's.
I think that since the Apple TV and my MacBook Pro are using different wifi networks or settings, it isn't allowing me to do that anymore.
Is there any way to still project my Mac's screen on to the Apple TV? I do not want other people to have access to my computer if I change the settings for internet sharing, but I still want to be able to share my screen onto the TV.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Many college/university networks will not allow communication between devices on that network. One workaround is to create your own network by installing something like an Airport Extreme and connecting it to your dorm ethernet connection. Unfortunately, some of these institutions won't allow this workaround either.

You would need to export and send the slideshow to iTunes. Once hat is done, make sure that Home Sharing is turned so you can then find the movie in the Computer app and select your computer and find the video there to be played on your Apple TV

Since updating my macbook I don't know how to get my books from macbook (ibooks) to my ipad. In itunes was easier to place books to ipad.

That is incorrect information. The poster is asking how to move music that is on the the phone to the computer/iTunes. iTunes does not sync from the phone to the computer with music, excpet for things purchased in iTunes. Music that has been placed on the phone would have to have been synced from the iTunes library and should be on the phone. However if you lose a hard drive due to a crash, then you would either have to restore your backup on the computer, or purchase 3fd party software to make the move. Music not purchased from iTunes will not sync back to iTunes from the phone.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone. The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

Welcome to the Apple community Brooke31.
Turn on photo stream on both devices, settings > iCloud on the phone, system preferences > iCloud on the Mac.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
You should connect your device to your computer with a USB cable and import any photos taken pre-activation manually.
