Getting one swf to be higher than another in the zindex of a html page

Hey all could someone please show me how I can tell one .swf
to be higher in the pages object stack than an other, I presume
using javascript?
Any help would be great.

Add a table with two rows put the first one in the fist row
and the second
in the next row. or make a two div's that work and put them
in there.
I think that for you the tables would work better and end
your frustration.

Just create a new page (or use the existing photo page) on your external site and use html to add an iframe sized to the page and link it to the mobilme gallery page. Works for me just fine when showing my gallery from a yahoo site.

How can I get one audio file to stop once another is triggered on the same page in EPUB?

I have multiple audio files on one page and am able to trigger each separately with their own control panels. Unfortunately, these can all be played over one another. Is there a solution within InDesign to stop the first active audio file once another audio button is triggered on the same page?
WIll this have to be done through Javascript?

Use buttons. They can have have more than one action. Set a button to stop the first audio, and start the second.

Does anyone know a way to get one photo to span more than two pages?

I am trying to get a panorama to appear across multiple pages in an iPhoto book. I can get one file to span 2 pages, but I was wondering if I could span 4 or six pages with one photo?

No, not automatifcally in iPhoto.
You may be able to split the original file into 2 (4 page spread) or 3 (6 page spread) parts, each part with a size ratio for an 8.5 x 22 layout. You'd have to experiment with the sizes of the individual parts to get it like you want it.

Copying a backup is actually a poor way to make reliable backups.. because an error creeps into the backup and the copy simply replicates it.
I would use a USB drive plugged directly into the computer, and use a software like CCC to make a bootable clone.. I tell you honestly.. it is just wonderful when you have disk issue in a computer to be able to plug in a hard drive and boot the computer from it. Especially Macs with their hard to reach drives. Changing a drive on a PC laptop or desktop computer is usually trivial. It is far from trivial in a Mac.
Use two USB drives and swap them over to offsite weekly. Then use cloud for incremental in between.. or a combo of the TM .. TM can backup to multiple destinations.

Cannot get the parameter from a HTML page at the first time

I have a html page with <input name="username" ...>, and the submit action is a url to my JSF web application. In the start page of the JSF webapp, I use following code to get value of username.

String userName = (String)facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap().get("username");
However, I cannot get it at the first time. The strange thing is if i click "refresh" button, the value of username is shown up on my page.

One user file is fast than another

For the past few days, my user file seems to be lagging. This problem seems to occur from time to time on my user file. I just checked another user file and everything is moving at a normal speed. I always do the maintenance like repairing permissions, clearing caches, resetting Safari, and so on. What's happening that affects my file but not others?

Hi Amy, probably fonts or prefs. btw - it's a user "folder".
Log back into your normal user account:
1. Navigate to YourHome/Library/Fonts - drag this folder to the desktop.
      Restart and test your applications.
      If they work start adding the fonts back few at a time.
( A likely suspects are Time RO & Helvetica Fractions, also if you do not use Classic you can trash the classic fonts.)
2. Check Preferences Thoroughly;
      Navigate to YourHome/Library/Preferences drag this folder to the desktop.
      Restart and test your applications.
      If this works, save the old preferences folder somewhere else or on disk, name it "old prefs" .
** Note: A very important file is the "com.apple.Mail.plist" preference file located in the Preferences folder which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences (hold this one and replace if your problem is not with Mail).
You'll have to go through some of your System Preferences and apps to set the preferences back to how you like them. (Or if you have the time and inclination, "cherry pick" through until you find the problem one or two.)
3. Check Permissions Inside Home Folder
   Navigate to yourhome/library.
   Get Info (Command + i) on the "Applications Support" folder.
   Open the "Ownership & permissions" disclosure triangle.
   Make sure you are the owner, with "read and write" access.
Click on "apply to all"
   If this is correct, open the "Applications Support" folder and do the same      procedure (Command+I) for the folders with the names of the applications you are      having trouble with.
Note:
The reason to check this is because repairing permissions with Disk Utility doesn't touch permissions inside your home folder.
If the isssue persists navigate to yourhome/library/caches and drag this folder to the trash, then log out and back or restart. There is no need to replace this folder.
Let us know.

One swf plays on web server, another does not

I have a little .swf file (created from video via
the Flash encoder) here: www.arveson.com/expt/flash/page1.htm and
it does not play on the remote server, but it plays locally. I have
placed an Adobe sample Flash file in the same location, called by
page2.htm. It plays fine. Why can't my file play? You can check the
source code in the URL.

You need another software to decompile. I use Sothink SWF

Be careful if you want to decompile, though. This is a very
debated practice among developers. Many people think that to do
this is to steal someones intellectual capital (IE all of the time
and effort they put into programming the swf). I believe that
communities can only move forward by being open about their
methods. I gladly give anyone who asks a copy of any source code I
develop that they want to learn from, and I gladly decompile swfs
to help people solve their problems. I typically ask permission if
I am decompiling to figure out how they did something for my own
benefit.

I get a message that "firefox is running another in the background and should be shut down before another can run OR restart your computer" I get this even when there is not another firefox running in the background. Any suggestions to fis this issue?

No more details other than above . I have uninstalled and re-installed FIREFOX several times and still get this issue. Also, very slow in connecting to websites.

No screen resolutions high than 1920x1080 on the external DisplayPort

I want to connect a MacBook Air 13" to my 27" Dell U2711 monitor (2560x1440px) via a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter but the maximum I can get is 1920x1080px.
HDMI actually supports up to 2560x1600.
How can I configure higher screen resolutions, please?

In reality HDMI really only goes up to 1,920×1,200. Which is the same as single link DVI. You won't be able to get above that with any adapter that has HDMI involved. I'm assuming that the "displayport" connection you have on your macbook air is Mini Displayport. If so you could use a Mini Displayport to Displayport adapter cable: <http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-to-Displayport-Ada pter-Cable.html> and run the full resolution you are looking for. The newer macbook Air's are running micro DVI, with those you would need to use a DVI to Mini Displayport adapter <http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Atlona-AT-DP400-Dual-Link-DVI-to-Mi ni-DisplayPort-Converter-USB-Powered.html> plus the cable I mentioned above.
That should solve your problem.

Running iMac, iPad/iPhone and 2 separate Airport Express, each connected to a different stereo in the house.
I would like to run the iMac itunes library remotely using the shared function on the ipad.
However when running music from iTunes on the iMac I can select speakers and both AEs so music is running from 3 sets of speakers. But on iPad I can only select iPad speakers or AE1 or AE2.
How may I get it to run both AEs please from iPad and using the Shared Function accessing the iMac itunes library?

I can't see my contacts higher than "S" in the alphabet/

I just switched to the new email setup and imported my contacts. However the new sywtem will not display any contacts above "S" in the alphabet. How do I do this or how can I switch back to the old method?

Trying to get an .swf link to display in a new window

Hi everyone,
I recently received some links to Captivate videos for a
webhelp project I'm working on (RH Office X5.02). I can link from a
topic to the .aspx wrapper file and get the wrapper with the
associated flash files to display in a separate window without any
problem.
However, when I try do the same thing (get the link to open
in a new window) by linking directly to one of the .swf files
associated with the wrapper, RoboHelp tells me I can't do it. The
Flash file displays within the content pane, the text appears much
smaller (but not illegible), and since it didn't resize to fit
within the pane, the information on the right of the video appears
"cut off". Fortunately, most of the information appears to be on
the left side. I would REALLY like to get this Flash file to open
in a separate window.
Any ideas on this one? My Captivate expert suggested that I
could try linking to the .htm file that's associated with the .swf,
and I'm going to try that next, if no one else has any ideas.

@Jim - You might want to do this by using a Redirect page.
Since the redirect is a HTML page, you could then open it in a new
window as desired. Then the redirect handles opening the .SWF.
@Cindi - Actually, inserting Captivate content in RoboHelp
topics is quite simple. You just click the Captivate icon in your
toolbar (or click Insert > Captivate) and point at the .SWF
Captivate created. RoboHelp will then create the appropriate code
to insert the Captivate into your existing page.
To both/all - Captivate normally creates a few different
files when it creates output. Another approach is to simply import
the Captivate created HTML page designed to present the Captivate
content. Then link to it as you would any other HTML page in
RoboHelp.
The links below may help. Although they were created when
RoboHelp X5 and Captivate 2 were dominant, most of what they cover
still applies.

It's asking you for my apple id password. not going to give that out, sorry.
However I did try this projector on my mother in laws iphone 4 and on my old iphone 3. ipico software isn't needed. plug and play any video through standard movie player or camera saved video.
I tried on my girls iphone 5 with the adapter. The ipico software and projector doesn't work on this phone.
Hope this helped you. Better to buy a used iphone 3 or 4 and use it for video storage.
I also found that the battery on these projectors are a joke (30-60mins max). I rigged a longer lasting battery on the outside and keep it plugged in while using. This doesn't charge the phone though so I replaced the battery in the old iphone 3 and now get at least a full length movie from it. Great in bed projected onto the ceiling.
