Getting thumbnails

I am collecting a bunch of URLs to videos on google or
youtube, and I want
to display the thumbnails.
How on earth do i get the thumbnails?

you are very confused - please copy and paste/quote from this
thread where I said it "couldn't be done".
Here's my initial reply to you:
"this isnt a flash question.
use a screengrab utility like Snaggit (www.techsmith.com)
or right click and select save - careful you do not use
protected images."
Then you immediately insulted me by calling me an "idiot".
And you expect me or anyone here to help
you? You must have mistaken me for somebody who thinks you
might be worth helping.
Here's a thought:
F1 (help docs) have a go at it - search for tpoics like
importing images at runtime or whatever - I
don't really care - you obviously don't really want the help
anyway.

    How do I get thumbnails to show as the photo instead of as a little folder with the date shot on it?

    You gave NO details whatsoever.  No wonder your post has rewmained unanswered this long.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
    Note that this is boilerplate text.
    If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
    such as your platform (Mac or Win),
    exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
    your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
    the type of file you were working on,
    machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
    what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
    if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
    if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
    someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
    a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

  • How can I get Thumbnails back in the file View Menu?

    My computer died and I had to re-install CS6.  I had originally installed it to an external hard drive expecting that I could just hook up a new computer when the time came and everything would work as before.   Not to be.   I contacted Adobe and got the program re-installed.  Now, when I open a file, I am unable to change the view in the View Menu to 'thumbnail' because 'thumbnail' is no longer an option.  How can I get that option back?
    Thank you.

    Are you talking about in the File>Open dialog in photoshop cs6?
    Could you post screenshot of what you see?
    Windows 7 doesn't have a thumbnail option as windows xp, but you should be able to at least see the jpeg thumbnails without any third party programs.
    If you pick Tiles or one of the three Icon options at the top, your not able to see the jpeg thumbnails?

  • How Do I Get Thumbnails to Appear in Bridge CS4 on a Mac?

    When I upload raw (Nikon NEF) files from a memory card via a USB port, the images upload into Bridge, but appear as icons, not thumbnails.  The icons are all labeled NEF NX2.  Also, I get an error message stating that, although the upload was successful, conversion from .NEF to .dng files was unsuccessful. I am a new user to Adobe Bridge and PSE.  The uploaded files open fine as thumbnails in PSE, but not Bridge.
    I am operating on a MacBook Pro, using MAC OSX 10.6.4.  I have Nikon's NX2 software installed on my machine, but not running when I am running Bridge.
    Can anyone help?  Thanks.

    In Bridge, go to Help>Updates, and bridge should take care of itself. You can only update bridge as far as ACR 5.7.
    To update the PSE version of the plug-in, go here, and download the latest update. (You might want to try 6.1, since a fair number of people seem to be having trouble with 6.2). Follow the instructions in the readme, but you do need to remove the old version of the plug-in first, regardless of what the instructions may say.

  • Get thumbnail for DICOM

    Hi,
    Could you please show me a way how I could use Oracle Multimedia DICOM java API to generate thumbnail for DICOM?
    I use the table you describe at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/datamgmt/dicom/dicom.htm. I get the OracleResultSet from Oracle database after executing sql like "select * from medical_image_table". The OracleResultSet could be interpreted to OrdDicom in the following way: OrdDicom dicom = (OrdDicom)dicomSet.getORAData("dicom", OrdDicom.getORADataFactory()). How could I get a thumbnail with the dicom?
    I see some materials that should call setProperties and processCopy. But it always always throw the exception that the data model is not loaded. How could I load the data model when I am using the Oracle Multimedia java API?
    Calling getAttributeByName leads the same error.

    I have solving it by setting data model for the connection in the following way:
    void setDataModel(Connection conn) throws SQLException {
         CallableStatement cs = null;
         try {
         cs = conn.prepareCall("begin ord_dicom.setDataModel(); end; ");
         cs.execute();
         cs.close();
         } catch(SQLException se) {
         System.out.println("Calling ord_dicom.setDataModel");
         cs.close();
    It works and I could get the thumbnail from DICOM. Thanks anyway!
    Regards,

  • Getting Thumbnails from PDF

    Hello,
    When we use Acrobat Professional to "Create PDF" using "From File" , Acrobat is internally creating the thumbnails for each page and storing these information in one of the layers. I would like to know how to extract those already generated Thumbnail images from PDF using ACrobat SDK.
    Questions:
    1. Is there any mechanism to achieve this using Acrobat SDK?
        Performance is the criteria I am looking for as far as extracting the thumbnails are concerned.As Acrobat has already created the thumbnail data, I would like to reuse/get it which I feel would enhance the performance.
    2. I tried PdPage.CopyToClipbpoard() which would give a thumbnail image but its not matching the performance criteria. In this approach we are re-creating the thumbnails anyway which I would not prefer.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Your first statement is incorrect.  Acrobat hasn't generated embedded thumbnails of pages since version 6.
    You mention, CopyToClipboard(), which implies to me that you are trying to do this through the COM interfaces - those are going to be slower than working with the plugin interfaces, but plugins require C/C++.  If you do stick with COM, then you should look at the drawing interfaces used by the Static and Active samples in the SDK - those will be much faster than copy to clipboard.

  • How can I get thumbnails of individual pages in the left margin of Acrobat 8?

    Hello:. I am not sure of the term, but in the past, when I opened a PDF in Acrobat 8, in the left margin, it showed "thumbnail" images of each individual page. I was able to jump from page to page without scrolling through the larger PDF image, and also select pages to print. This has now disappeared---how can I get it to return?
    Thanks very much!

    That does it, thanks very much!

  • Trouble getting thumbnail to open fully in the main window for editing.

    I updated to 6.0.6 iphoto and I can't find a way to have my thumbnails taking up the whole main window...not the full screen. Previously when I double clicked on a thumbnail the pic opened in main window, taking up all the space in that window. Now it is just a small pic in the main window and I can't see enough detail to edit the pic.

    The files in the Data file are the thumbnails used by iPhoto. The ! you're getting is because iPhoto has lost the link between the library and the original files that will be in the Originals folder.
    I don't think it will work but you can try to rebuild the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
    If that doesn't work you'll have to start a new library and import the files in the Originals folder from the old library. Here's how:
    Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
    Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    Drag the Originals folder from the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
    This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
    Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
    In the future I recommend you make a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto file after each import and after doing a lot of editing and organizing in the library. Then if you experience a similar crash all you need to do is replace the damaged database file with the backup copy and you'll be back to the same place in the library as when you make the backup. See the tip at the end of my signature.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • What causes sometimes long delay in getting thumbnails.

    See attached screen capture.  This tends to happen, the farther back in time I look for old photos.  Entire pages of thumbnails are missing. They only get retrieved when I page down, but sometimes never.  Sometimes I have to click on the blank thumbnail in order to force it to appear.  This makes it difficult to look for old photos.  I just assumed it saved all this information:
    Doing an f5 reftresh has no effect.  My catalog (about 5gb) and previews (30gb) are on a dedicated Crucial 256gb sata-3 SSD which benches very fast, so the drive should not be the cause.  Moreover, the fact that they often never appear should rule out the drive speed.  I don't see a lot of settings to control this sort of thing. What might be causing this failure to display thumbnails?
    Thanks!

    An image must be on screen for its thumbnail to be created. Scrolling through your library in Grid view and waiting for the image thumbnails to generate on screen should fix it. It's been that way from the gitgo.
    Thanks for the reply.  Are you saying that the thumbnails only create when they have to, for the first time?  That would explain some of what I'm seeing, but not all. There were some mass imports from pre-LR days (that I've only glanced at) that this would explain.  But on the other hand, there was a 2010 week long event shoot that had lost all its thumbnails and I know I had looked at them all.
    Anyway, its really not that big of deal because most of them regenerate quickly. It's the ones that don't generate unless I zoom them that made me write this.

    No, I gave you bad advice -- relied on something I had heard without
    checking it myself -- sorry. I've now done some checking, and there
    doesn't appear to be any way to do what you want. What I do is open My
