Gift card usage

I am looking for how to use a gift card in the itunes store. I have an acocunt already, and have no problem purchasing songs with a credit card, but do not see anywhere to enter in the gift card. I looked at help and it says it should be in the account information page, but I do not see it. I also do not see it in the billing information page. If someone could tell me how to enter in the gift card, I would appreciate it.

i did the redeem thing and got a secret password for my gift card. but when i try to shop how can i make sure it uses my gift card credit and not my credit card? this is my first time and i am sort of afraid to just hit "buy"

  • ITunes gift card usage in another country

Hi, I purchased an iTunes gift card from the states but I am at Turkey right now. Will I not be able to redeem it here? Is there any way I can use this card? For example if someone at the states were to redeem it for me?
Sorry if I posted at the wrong category.
    Thanks.

Sorry, you cannot redeem a US iTunes card in Turkey. iTunes cards are valid only in the country in which is was sold. And no, someone in the US can't redeem it for you, since you are not allowed to use the US iTunes Store from outside of the US. You'll need to give or sell that card to someone who resides in the US.

  • Student gift card usage

I am a UK university international student and am unable to redeem the student gift card i got along with my new MacBook pro. Since my nationality and apple ID is Indian it allows me access only to India App store. Even after accessing the UK app store, I am asked to fill in my Apple ID and it redirects me to the Indian App store. The denomination on the student card is in GBP. How do I solve this problem and redeem this offer?
    Please advise!!

To redeem the card, you will have to create a second Apple ID and open an iTunes account in the store for GB using your university address. After redeeming the gift card you will only be able to use the credit for content in the GB iTunes and Mac App Stores.
The other option is to sell the gift card to someone in GB with a GB iTunes account.

    Hi Katie,
Your best bet would be to contact iTunes Support again. Also, make sure there wasn't an attachment to the email? But if there was not, contact them again and tell them you need to either have the form sent to you or you need to know where you can find it. Here's the link:

  • Sainsburys gift card debacle

Having gone round and round being shoved from department to department, sending emails, talking on the phone and doing online chats BT are still refusing to pay me what they owe me. I placed my order for the full BT package of BT Infinity 2, phone and BT TV entertainment package. At the time the voucher deal was £80 for taking out BT Infinity 2 and £70 for taking out BT TV entertainment package. I am a new customer and the order was placed on the 28/08/2014. Now a gift card turned up a couple of weeks ago which i went to use, and to my surprise and embarrassment it was for only £80 not the full £150. Unfortunately it is very difficult to prove exactly what the deal was at the time. when you place the order there is no mention of how much you have earned in Sainsburys vouchers. The common answer from BT when you finally get one is like this........
51.From 19.08.14 until 08.09.14 new to BT customers eligible for a £25 Sainsbury's Gift Card when ordering a BT Broadband package, except those ordering the online exclusive Unlimited Broadband £8/mth for 12 months package who are eligible for an £80 Sainsbury's Gift Card (with or without TV).
52.From 19.08.14 until 08.09.14 new to BT customers to eligible for a £80 Sainsbury's Gift Card when ordering a BT Infinity package (with or without TV). Existing BT Broadband customers upgrading to BT Infinity or those adding just BT TV are excluded.
Please refer to the ‘Terms and Conditions’ section at the bottom of the Sainsbury’s offer page for confirmation of this - https://www.vouchers.bt.com/offer/sainsbury
    Best wishes,
    BT.com Vouchers Team
Now this is all well and good but no one ever mentions the BT TV part of the deal which was £70, and BT seem to have a complete mental block on this. Tracing any info on past deals is virtually impossible but i did find this on the Uswitch website....
BT is also offering £150 vouchers with its TV Entertainment + BT Infinity 1 and its TV Entertainment + Unlimited BT Infinity 2 broadband deals.
With TV Entertainment + BT Infinity 1, subscribers receive up to 38Mb downloads speeds with a 20GB usage allowance.
They can also take advantage of weekend calls and a free YouView set-top box, and 20 extra channels on top of Freeview.
The fibre broadband package is priced at £10 per month plus line rental, rising to £22.45 per month plus line rental after six months.
TV Entertainment + Unlimited BT Infinity 2 offers the same deal on TV and home phone services, but consumers can download at even faster speeds.
Subscribers can download at up to 76Mb and upload at up to 19Mb.
The broadband deal is priced at £25 per month plus line rental for three months, rising to £33.45 per month plus line rental thereafter.

Cough up BT. This is blatent avoidance on your behalf.

As a new fibre to the home customer i am a little annoyed that in my flat there is no option other than bt and the high fees, I signed up online and was told to phone customer services as the bt website does not allow fibre to the home orders to be placed. These are handled by  a seperate department with its own call centres etc..
When i ordered by phone i specifically asked do i still get my £125 voucher? I was told yes and asked several times. Knowing what bt can be like i recorded the call on my mobile.
When i finally got round to having my connection go live i went online to request my sainsburys voucher only to be told NO, i didnt order online. this came from somebody abroad who had followed the rules in an absolutestrict interpretation.
Angrily i phoned the fibre to the home easy assist team, asking whats going on, i stated i only ordered as i was told i would get the vouchers, otherwise i have been mis sold the service and wish to cancel failing this i will take you to the samll claims court.
The guy i spoke to went away and said yes, i will get the vouchers but they have to manally order them from the fibre to the home dept. and not the normal call centres or customer services team.
Fibre to the home is a seprate business within bt, most of the staff know nothing about it, are not trained to advise or assist. go straight to the fibre easy assist team and you will get somewhere.
I advise all fibre customers with fibre to the home (not fibre from the green cabinet fibre) (fibre to the home customers will know if you are one)  to hold tight go to the easy assistteam when everything is up and running and you will get somewhere. Do not waste your time dealing with the standard call centres in the uk or india they dont have a clue. You wil get the vouchers just hold tight.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sing out and sign back in
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • Verizon Deal / $100 BB Gift Card

My husband and I went into two separate locations to activate Verizon service through their EDGE program. We were hoping to take advantage of the current deal Best Buy has going to receive a $100 gift card for each new line activation and a Samsung gear headset. Unfortunately, both locations give us an error of “110 Best Buy is not eligible for phone in activation. Customer must contact provider directly for account management.” The blue shirt at the San Tan location (who was no less than irritated to even help us) told us it wasn’t Best Buy’s problem and that we needed to go through Verizon for a “credit check”.
Well, I contacted Verizon, who in turn gave us flawless approval and gave us an application number to give to the guys in blue the next time we tried it. Second time was still a no go and still we are getting this ever-mysterious error code that NOBODY at Best Buy has been able to explain. We ruled out it being Verizon’s problem with us, so I am writing this under the pretense that I doubt there’s an error code that a manager wouldn’t know the meaning of. Either there’s a serious lack of competence (if it’s “unknown”) or there’s a serious false advertising campaign rigging (nobody tell the customer the real reason). My guess is corporate sent a memo downstream and this is all supposed to be a hush situation, everybody play dumb.
From my research it appears that Best Buy has no viable reason for this to happen. I found someone online who had the same issue and pretty much had to yell and scream at Best Buy management before somebody “undid” the error and it magically let them activate service. I’m expecting the same result here and I am willing to escalate this, regardless.
The curious thing is that I am able to activate a non-EDGE Verizon plan pretty easily. Best Buy will let me do that, even over the phone! You guys are more than happy to do that and let me pay full price for my phone! But when I want to do a discounted EDGE plan AND get $200 in Best Buy gift cards using YOUR BEST BUY promotion?... That leaves the only explanation for the error as “Best Buy won’t make money on you so we made up this glitch that nobody on our team can explain.”
There’s no reason for this to not go through, which leaves this borderline extortion as the only plausible cause. I’m disappointed that nobody in either store could give me a viable reason for the code and instead tried to put it on Verizon, as if no employee had ever seen that come up or asked for clarification. I’m more than willing to activate my EDGE service through Best Buy and only ask that customer relationships be valued as highly as I think Best Buy wants it to be.
    Thank you for your time

And for more clarification, here is the actual Terms and Conditions of the promotion which I pulled straight from bestbuy.com. It clearly says Verizon EDGE is an eligible program for this promotion. Verizon gave me complete approval, zero deposit, even gave me an application number.

  • How do I transfer a gift card balance to family members in family share

Ok well I just realized that the account associated with my Family share will only access my credit card and not my gift card balance.
I had two $100 gift cards which I redeemed into my account thinking we could all share the gift card.  Little did I know that only I can use the balance.
I know I can just purchase the app or the song and then they can download it for free but it's a pain in the butt if I'm not home to do this.  Is there anyway I can transfer the funds to my wife and kids??  Oh and to top it off I've since thrown away the original gift cards so there is no way to remove the funds and place them back on the cards.   Thanks in advance!

Open the App Store on your iPad.  Scroll all the way to the bottom in the "Featured" tab.  You should see your Apple ID there.  It may indicate that you have that credit balance.  If not, click the Apple ID button you see there and sign in if necessary and then click "View Apple ID".  You should see the credit balance.
It will apply to your app (or iTunes music) purchases automatically.

  • How do you add an iTunes Gift Card so that all purchases of any members of a Family Sharing Group can use the credit?

How can all family members of a Family Sharing Group use a gift card that has been been applied to the iTunes master account? I added a gift card to our master iTunes account for my grandson, and even though he's a family sharing group member, none of the purchases I have approved from his requests have used the gift card credit. A search of the iTunes support site failed to turn up anything that even remotely addresses this topic. It would seem reasonable to assume that any purchase made by any family member should be able to use the gift card credit since all purchases go through the master account, but this does not appear to be the case.

Regarding your statement about the gift card balance being used if redeemed to the organizers account - http://www.apple.com/feedback.
Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours.  You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there.  If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.

  • Multiple users/gift cards on one account

I have what I would imagine to be a common scenario but not sure how to handle. Before yesterday, we had one teenager using the home PC on a iTunes account linked to our CC for any purchases she needed to pay us back for. We now have 2 more teenagers who need to do the same with their new iPods and all 3 kids have gift cards. How do we ensure they can all use their gift cards separately, but still link any additional purchases back to our common account linked to our CC? I have seen several posts about how to use multiple iPods on the same PC but not how to manage iTunes accounts in relation to multiple gift cards and a common iTunes account for billing purposes which should be common. I want to make sure I set this up properly from the start so any aasistance is appreciated.

I would suggst creating a new iTunes accounts for each user using their own gift cards. You don't need a CC if you use a gift card.
Go to the iTunes store screen and click Redeem at the top right under *Quick Links*.
Enter the gift card number then select *Create new account*. At the CC details scene, select None.
but still link any additional purchases back to our common account linked to our CC?
You cannot. They can all be on the some computer.
Any gift cards put onto a single iTunes store account are put into that one account. Anything purchased by anyone will be deducted from the total.

  • How should I give itunes autonomy to my children now that they are in high school and have used my Mac and my itunes account to buy music for years, including all gift cards given to them. They now both have their own computers.

When my children were younger, and needed more help and oversight, I had them purchase songs with my permission, often with gift cards that they had been given on various occaisions. Now, however, they both have laptops, they would like to split out "their" music and books, sync their Itouches to their own system, and I would love to have 9000 less Taylor Swift songs stored on my hard drive. Also, it seems that I can't set up independent Itunes accounts for them without a credit card, however they both get gift cards several times a year. A suggestion for this? It must happen to a lot of families. Thanks.

Unfortunately you cannot split (nor merge) items purchased with an AppleID.  I am not clear on what you will have to do to allow them continued access to their music on your account.  Apple no longer has DRM protection in its music but then I also hear people have all kinds of authorization issues when trying to synch so it sounds like they still keep restrictions on what you can do with the music when trying to move it about.  I'll let somebody more experienced with syncing answer this part.  You may have to authorize their computers and devices to your AppleID to allow them all functionality with the music.
Ideally you would have set them up with their own AppleIDs years ago but...
