Given up on BT Cloud

After months of struggling with BT Cloud, I have finally uninstalled the client from my pc and shelled out $60 for Carbonite backup. Why? Because I'm fed up with trying to stop BT Cloud from corrupting my Outlook 2010 pst files. It doesn't seem to understand that I have several *large* pst files which may remain open for hours while I work on emails. It tries to back them up and just corrupts them. End result is lots of .conflict files which i have to untangle on a daily basis.
Fortunately I'm a belt-and-braces person so I also do my own pst file backups. Just as well! If I had relied on BT Cloud I would have lost several hundred MB of saved mail.
Carbonite doesn't trash my mail. Its user interface is simple, intuitive and flexible. I can backup exactly which folders I choose, and I don't get any hassle with pst files being locked when I want to open them.
BT, what on earth are you doing? If you can't offer simple, reliable and trustworthy cloud backup you are doing your customers a great disservice. I'm forking out a lot of ££ on your top-of-the range Infinity broadband. I expect much better than this! Bring back BT Digital Vault, says I - at least it didn't trash the customer's email files.
I will recommend to friends and family that they steer very clear of BT Cloud. I'm sad about this - I'm an ex-employee and a current shareholder. I could send complaints to the Chairman's Office but frankly I can't be bothered. You've lost my trust big time.

Many on here struggled with BT Digital Vault and like you I gave up with BT Cloud for similar reasons
As you point out though, there are many other products out there which do measure up and do the job.

Creative cloud desktop app blank - Mac

Hi,
I have been experiencing the issue with a "blank" screen when logged into the Creative Cloud Desktop. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the desktop app multiple times and still no screen or visible apps. Also, I followed the instructions in locating the OOBE folder... I was unable to locate the file suggested to change even after making all hidden files visible. In my recent attempt to locate this file the entire OOBE folder has been deleted (I am unable to locate this folder anywhere on my computer or trash) and I am still experiencing the "blank" screen when logged in. How would I go about fixing this all across the board? Would I need to reinstall all of adobe and its apps? Any assistance would be appreciated.

1> Uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop app. (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html#Uninstall apps)
2> Navigate to the OOBE folder:
Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
Note: The <user account>/Library/ folder is hidden after OS 10.7, follow the instructions here to access it: Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
rename OOBE to OOBE.old
Then install Creative Cloud from below given link:

Creative Cloud installer sticks with Lightroom 4.1 instead showing and installing 4.3

What's wrong with the installer? (see topic)
I had 4.1 installed as separate installation before I switched to the creative cloud.
Apparently there is at least one installation bug: I removed Lightroom completely by using uninstall. Afterwards installed it via the creative cloud installer. Lightroom gets installed to C:\Programs Files\ where it was installed before, completely ignoring the Install path given in the creative cloud installer (which is C:\Adobe for me), which even makes the installer not activating the "Launch app" link, as the software is not installed where it expects it.
So that's two things to fix: Lightroom 4.3 not available in creative cloud, install path gets ignored by Lightroom installation. :-(

Thank you for the information about the custom installation path. You should be able to install Lightroom 4.1 to the default location and then install Lightroom 4.3. Lightroom 4.3 will then utilize the licensing information from Lightroom 4.1.
We are looking at providing an updated version of Lightroom within the Adobe Application Manager in the future.

Cloud of Points Tree /Nearest Neighbor

I'm using a binary tree to construct a tree of two dimensional points .here is how i construct the tree :
the tree is constructed by successive subdivision of the Plan by semi-Lines accross a given point.
the first subdivision is done by say a horizantal line across a given point.the plan is then split into two regions : the upper and lower half plans. the points in the upper plan will be in the right subtree and those in the lower plan will go into the left subtree.
in the next step the plan will be subdiveded by a VERTICAL semi-line at this time : the points at the left of this line will be placed in the left subtree and those on the right will be placed to right subtree.
Now i managed to write an insert() method for this :

What you say is very encouraging so i will try your little algorithm for sure.

I purchased the Creative Suite 6 software in August. I just suscribed to cloud & DW won't download?

I purchased the Creative Suite 6 in August - the Design & Web Premium software package.
However, I can not get the animation I made in Edge Animate into the website I made in DW CS6.
I was told I could only accomplish this with the Cloud subscription.
I am a student, My final web site project is due Monday. I need to insert the Edge Animation I have made into my DW CS6 website.
Since the Edge Animation Insert update to DW CS6 is only available to Cloud Subscribers, I purchased the monthly subscription today.
However, Creative Cloud will not download Dreamweaver CS6 to my computer because it is already downloaded.   (my store purchased version)
How do I get access to the Cloud Version of DW CS6 (the updated version with the Insert Edge Animation update)?
And, still have access to my store purchased DW CS6 that is already downloaded on my computer.

There is no such thing. Only one version of DW CS6 can exist at any given time. The cloud version will simply replace your otehr version. Do a Help --> Deactivate, then run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and elt AAM reinstall everything.

IPhone song download stuck, can't delete - but I already have it

Summertime Blues was stuck in my iPhone iTunes Store "downloads" list, and preventing me from downloading anything else.
This entry was not susceptible to manual deletion - I tried every possible variation on tapping and swiping, that item could not be managed in any way.
It didn't say whose version it was, but it had to be Blue Cheer, as that's the only version I have. But that song was already on the iPhone, and since there was no further information provided, I had no idea what was stuck.
Finally, by chance, I happened to notice that some "60s Gold" collection I had was eligible for "Complete My Album". I tapped that, and saw, there among the remaining unpurchased songs, Summertime Blues by Blue Cheer -- with a red dotted circle next to it. I tapped that, and the circle faded and was replaced by a price, like all its neighbors.
Backing out of "Complete My Album" to check the general downloads list, I find the stuck item is now gone.
I must have been in that "Complete My Album" list at some point and tapped that song, knowing I already have it, then aborted when I saw it was downloading something that would cost me. (Yeah, I must have "curiously" tapped something with a dollar sign, I will cop to that little bit of imprudence.)
Why, though, was it necessary to retrace my steps and abort the download where it had been initiated?
Why couldn't I do this right there in the general downloads section, where it was stuck, like everyone tells you to do?
I can only guess that having a copy of the same song on a different album had something to do with things getting stuck in this way.

Run CC with minimum rights

Our users can not have local admin rights, but CC wants full admin to run or update. We use a Dell product called Privilege Manager where I can give admin rights to just certain applications. So my question is, what are the applications/process that need admin rights? I have given them to Creative Cloud.exe, Adobe CEF Help.exe, etc. with no success. It still tells me it needs admin rights. If anyone knows what apps/processes actually are used when installing/updating, please let me know.

To run CC withput admin rights you have to install them via CC packager and grant full rights for Users to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
To install updates, either you create updáte packages with the cc packager and deploy them, or you use the remote update manager

How to download previous versions of photoshop, i can't seem to find the install button that leads you too the previous versions.

I've tried to download previous versions but don't know how have followed the steps that adobe has given but my creative cloud doesn't come up with install but try and when i press it, it downloads and i just wanted to fins previous versions of photoshop such as cs6 and trial it thanks.

You can access previous CC versions of Photoshop from the CC Desktop.
First under "Find New Software", select "Previous versions"
Then under Photoshop, click the arrow on the Install button to see and install Previous Photoshop versions.

Urban did you check the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to see if an uninstall option was available? What option are you given in the Creative Cloud application? Is it listed as installed?

SGP311 KitKat - mounting remote shares

Hi, Prior to the KK update, I used ES as my file manager. This allowed me to manipulate/copy files on my NAS. Now that File Commander is the only FM that can manipulate files on the SD card, I have to copy onto internal storage using ES, then move to SD using Commander. When I quizzed Mobisystems on this, they pointed to the Z1 forum and told me to use Settings > Storage > Remote Shares to mount the shares, then Commander would be able to do the necessary. The problem is that there is no 'Remote Shares' option under Settings > Storage.... Does anyone with the KK update on SGP311 have this option (in which case a repair might fix it), or have Sony utterly cocked this update up? PS I use s/w that will only run on non-root devices.....

I've just spoken to Sony about this, with laughably abject results.
First, a clearer exposition of my problem:
- Under 4.3, I used ES File Explorer, since that has all the functionality I require, crucially including access to NFS/SMB shares
- Google removed the ability of 3rd-party apps to write to SD for the KitKat release
- Sony chose File Commander to be the bundled file manager for their 4.4.2 stock ROMs
- File Commander cannot independently access remote shares (some cloud services, yes, but not J Random NAS)
- I didn't update to KK until a new File Commander update came out claiming to give access to remote shares for Xperia KitKat devices
- On update to KK, I found that I was still only given the option of cloud services under the remote share tab
- Mobisystems support pointed me at this link on the Z2 forum, describing how to mount remote shares via 'Settings' > 'Storage' > 'Remote Shares'
- I pointed out to Mobisystems' support that there was no 'Remote Shares' under 'Settings' > 'Storage', which left them puzzled and unable to offer any further advice.
So, on to the call today. After explaining the situation:
- Well it's Google's fault you can't write to SD (yes, but it's your fault I can't see my NAS in the provided file manager)
- We don't write the app to do this (no, but you made a deliberate decision to include software that could, should and erroneously claims to support this)
- It's not our responsibility to provide such functionality (and yet, through storage settings, you provide this for other devices in the range.... And your technology partner certainly thought it was - and that you did)
- We're sorry you're sad (I'm not sad, I'm fuming)
It was obvious we were getting nowhere, so I asked how I could escalate the issue.
"You can't", I was flatly informed.
After to-ing and fro-ing, they said they would pass it on to the developers.

I would like to know the exact error message when you sign in, in the meanwhile please try the following steps assuming its Windows, let me know if its a MAC:
1) Go to Start button>> Control panel>> Uninstall a program.
2) Check if you see Browser safeguard there, if yes then uninstall it.
3) Open Internet explorer>> Tools>> Internet options>> Connections>> Lan Settings>> and it should be like this.

You have not specified which version of Premiere Pro was given to you. If you don't have the disc (which i suppose you don't have) you will have to download it online.
As far as your registration is concerned, for Premiere Pro CS6 or earlier you will have to reach Adobe chat support for further help: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
For Premiere Pro CC and later, you will not have much problems reactivating it.
