GLCS2 compatible with Leopard?

I'm hoping someone can address this, as it seems that Adobe either wants me to get GL9 or switch to Dreamweaver, neither of which I want to (or can afford to) do...
Does anyone have any experience with GoLive CS2 running under Leopard? Is it fully compatible? And if not, what functions do I lose? (I'm running GLCS2 on a G5 Dual 2GHz with lots of RAM)

Nothing Adobe is fully Leopard compatible at the moment. But they run. GLCS2 too runs. Might be minor glitches but nothign big as far as I know. It will not be updated for Leopard though.

Tried updating firefox but it is not compatible with leopard op. If I try to re-install the older version will my bookmarks still be there?

Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

  • Device Central CS3 NOT compatible with Leopard

I just upgraded to OS X Leopard and Device Central CS3 is no
longer usable. OS X says it is "not supported on this
architecture," as if the machine was PowerPC (it is an Intel
MacBook Pro). All the Adobe support docs says DC is compatible so I
don't know how to resolve this situation.

CS3 device central is fully compatible with Leopard ...for me its running fine

  • Final Cut Pro 5.x compatible with Leopard?

Sorry if this has been asked loads of times but I could not find the posts here.
Does anyone know if Final Cut Pro 5.x and DVD Studio Pro 4.x are compatible with Leopard?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    I don't know what terms you ** SEARCHED **
But the list referenced above (click on the term searched) has quite a few.
If you work with FCP/ Logic/ ProTools, etc in any professional capacity, you may want to wait until the fallout settles. This is especially true if you use 3rd party cards & drivers. Otherwise, get a new drive and install everything from scratch.

  • Wireless printer compatible with Leopard?

Has anybody found a wireless printer that is compatible with Leopard and is hassle-free to install and operate?
All I want is a simple printer. I don't need scanners or faxes - just a printer that will work wirelessly.
I bought a Lexmark Z1480 over the weekend - and have given up on trying to get it to work. As others have reported each time I attempted to print a document from any application the programme quit.
If anybody has a suggestion I will be very grateful.

Take a look at the Canon MP600R. If you search here you will find reports from users who have it working in all its modes - wireless, ethernet and USB.

  • When will CS3 be fully compatible with Leopard?

I haven't read any definitive answers to this question.
Adobe says when Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro is released in late Jan08: Leopard FAQ
But the 8.1.2 update this month didn't say anything about Leopard...
Does anyone know? We've been waiting to migrate to 10.5 for a couple of months now and CS3 is the last hold-up.

I understand CS3 came out before Leopard. But Leopard is a whole new operating system, they give core developers like Adobe months and months to make their software workable for the new OS. Third party developers always take alphas and betas from the OS builds, do they not? Is it the requirement that Apple make each and every software piece compatible with it's OS? So, they in essence have to do the third party's developer's work?
Further, if it's not compatible, then what grounds does Adobe have telling customers that it is. That would be a lie, then, wouldn't it? I'm just sayin. And I don't have Leopard OR CS3 yet, but I sure don't like the fact that Adobe is being pretty quiet about these issues--it takes someone some digging to figure this out, then they find engineers who are basically claiming it's not compatible, and to wait for likely 18 months until 10.6, and if I were Adobe's legal dept. I'd probably delete this post.
As far as *everyone* having issues, it doesn't seem to be the case--I am reading several threads where many have figured it out. Maybe I'll be lucky.
I can certainly see if Apple changed the specs (I'm not sure what this means, do they not provide seeds to you?), Adobe having a LOT to complain about. But I have not seen evidence of this other than an Adobe engineer calling the OS Buggy. Proof?
I think Apple being quiet about it is that they don't allow their staff to blame others in blanket statements on forums in direct contradiction to what they warrant in writing the software to be compatible with. Usually things like these come from press releases or a kb. Or Steve Jobs <g>
Buko, your blanket statement about CS3 being perfect in Tiger doesn't seem to wash. A quick look through the Apple forums and the forums here pretty much show that not to be the case. What seems to be clear is that Adobe's registration and auto update program are the problem. I won't go so far as to say they are poorly written and executed, but the scores of people who have had and continue to have numerous issues IN TIGER certainly point in that direction.
I suppose we could blame Apple for that, too?

  • Disk Utility not compatible with Leopard

    Disk Utility does not work.
When I run "Repair Permissions", all errors are unable to be fixed.
The same error messages appear when starting up with the Leopard DVD (pressing "C" during start) via the Disk Utility from the menu.
Now, I am stuck because iTunes will not import anything.
    Please help!

    Alright, then that's okay.
I managed to solve the mystery of the iTunes files.
It turns out that although the file extensions were the same (.AIFF), I had inadvertently selected Apple/SGI 32 bit (float) = not compatible.
The solution was to select Apple/SGI16 bit (PCM) = compatible with iTunes.
Now how will we be able to rely on Disk Utilities when it reports false information?

I'm running Leopard 10.5.2 on a Mac Pro 1,1 but still using iLife 06. Can I use the iMovie 06 special effects software put out by Gee Three called "Slick" starter kit, filmmaker kit, and transition kit (three dvd's) with Leopard? I just resolved several hard drive and Leopard issues and don't want to install a potential troublemaker.

sorry for posting dumb questions folks. i actually went to the slick web site and got all the data i needed. again, sorry for cluttering the forum. i'm a true dummy.

  • OK, what cheap controllers ARE compatible with Leopard?

Some people say the m-audio ones work with Leopard, and some say they do not. I don't know what to believe...

M-Audio don't have the best reputation, which is a bit sad since I bought a pile of m-audio interfaces for my music labs at University.
The fact is that there are no m-audio drivers for Leopard at the moment. I've got the Firewire 410 working but not the Radium 61. Other have managed to get them working and one enterprising soul has rigged the MIDI USB interface via his own generic driver to get it working. A bit rich for my taste, though.
My Korg Kontrol 49 works fine with Logic Studio/Leopard and, given the problems I've had in the past with m-audio, they've lost my business next time I upgrade the labs.
    HTH.

  • FCE 2.0.2 compatible with Leopard?

Just got a new MBP last week and borrowed a friend's old Final Cut Express 2.0.2 that's back from like 2004.
Before, when I had Tiger running, FCE ran perfectly normal. After installing Leopard, I noticed a few bugs with FCE. Can FCE 2.0.2 ever be able to run with leopard? Or do I have to buy the upgrade for FCE?
    Also:
Can I buy the upgrade for FCE HD? Or do I have to buy the whole package?(I'm on a college budget)
    -Much appreciated!

It's not Leopard that's messing up FCE so much as the fact that you're running it on an Intel machine- 2.0.2 was made for PowerPC computers. That having been said, Leopard may still be the root of some of your problems as a 10.x.0 release will always be buggy, but that should be fixed within a month or so.
As for upgrading, if you are purchasing with the educational discount, you are not eligible for the upgrade package. I believe the educational price on FCE3.5 (the newest and Intel native version) is $200 or so.

  • ID CS2 compatible with Leopard?

What's the official word on CS2 compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard? What about CS3?

Exactly where are people getting the info that Tiger won't boot on the new machines? From what I've read, it may be possible to run 10.4 on them still--you would just have to clone across from your old machine to your new machine. I am certainly not *advocating* such an action, I am simply clarifying that it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility if you get desperate enough...
Regardless of what OS you end up running, if you are on an Intel Mac, I would seriously recommend you bump up to CS3 as soon as possible. CS2 is not great fun to run on Intel Macs. It is probably going to feel slightly more sluggish than your 1.8ghz--I find it is similar to running approximately a 1ghz G4 in terms of GUI interaction.
Printing speeds are more like the speed of a G5. Well, unless you try and print an EPS the Rosetta engine doesn't like. In that case, be prepared to go hunting for a G5 or converting some EPS files, because a recalcitrant EPS simply can't be printed in some edge cases.

  • Is Homebrew compatible with Leopard Server?

Title pretty much sums it up. I need to install ImageMagick and some other UNIXy tools. Wondering if Homebrew will work with our Leopard Server (10.5.8)? And if so are there any things to be aware of?
Server is currently running Apache, MySQL, and a host of other OS X Server processes.

It's just like any other package manager.
For the most part, the stuff it installs is outside of the realm of what Apple installs, so anything you install via Homebrew will work just as it would - just don't expect the Apple tools to integrate with it.
That also holds true if your're trying to install tools that somehow interact with Apache - the standard Apple install likely won't see the Homebrew-installed tools, so you may have to play games with Apache, or install the Homebrew version of Apache to work with it (and break the links to Server Admin, of course).
So, short answer - will it 'work'? yes - in as much as you can install Homebrew app and tools. Will it integrate with your existing services? probably not, at least not without some extra work.

  • Amplitube compatible with Leopard?

I just installed Leopard on my machine, but Amplitube 2 does not ap[pear in the plug-in list in Logic, even after re-installing the plug-in. Anyone familiar with this problem?

    Hoi Hans,
Het gekke is dat ik over deze zaken makkelijker schrijf in 't Engels, wellicht ook omdat alle commando's en termen en mijn OS in het Engels zijn... en het is natuurlijk de voertaal op dit forum.
So I like to keep it English, for general interest. Reason has to be at least 3.0.5, otherwise it is not Leopatible. The same goes for any rewire extensions, they have to be Leopatible too, you need version 1.7 or later.
