Go to Offline status after sending print in HP

Hi everybody.I have two HP Laserjet 4100. Both of them after sending print from windows go to offline status and an error message appear (Yellow Error BOX in notification area).Printer screen show Ready message. The light on the printer is green and fixed. I connect printer with LPT cable to PC.I can get test print from printer menus without any error. I test printer on windows XP 32bit and windows 7 64bit. I get driver from HP Support And Driver Download Center. I install any type of driver (XP 32bit/7 64 bit/ Universal PCL5)I try to use Doctor Hp to find problem but this application is not support LPT connections. I do Cold reset and reset maintenanc counter (With holding left arrow of Items and Value keys).I used 3 diffrent and new LPT cable. I confused and tired! Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks

Right now it appears you are having communication issues from the computer to the printer since the printer will print test pages. The first thing you will want to do is use one of the 32bit computers attached with parallel cable to test communication from the port to the printer. With the printer connected to the port and I assume the lpt port is lpt1, go to start and run and type command and hit enter. At the prompt that appears in the black box type cd\windows and hit enter. Now at the C:\windows prompt, type dir >> lpt1 and hit the enter key. Does the printer data light start to flash and does the printer start to print pages. If it does, then communication is fine and you need to remove and reload the printer using the correct driver. If it does not print then you have an issue with the port on the computer, the cable or the port on the printer. Since it happens with two printers I would think that would eliminate the port on the printer. You may want to check the port setting in the BIOS of the computer. Most ports are Standard, ECP and EPP. Best to set the port for Standard when using an old legacy printer. Good Luck.

When you say "wrong receiver" do you mean an address that does not exist in the domain you sent the mail to?
If so, there is no way for you to check that when you send the mail, and you will not get an exception. It is possible that the domain's e-mail server may send a "bounce" message back to your server to tell you that the address does not exist there, but that happens later and there is no guarantee it will happen at all.

• HP 6490 running on windows 7. Cannot get printer from offline status. prints ok from laptop.

I have a 6940 printer running on windows 7. Went on vaction and had everything turned off for a week. Turned everything back on and now printer will not come out of offline status. Printer is on home network plugged into a router. Printer will print from my laptop using XP. Everything was fine before.

Thanks for the reply.
When I use Remote Desktop and use the Public IP of the router without the port number (49250), I am able to get into the server. However, when I try to use RDP with the [Public IP]:49250, it will not connect to the 192.168.0.30 workstation.
Right now the router is program to forward port 49250 requests to the 0.30 workstation.
I am going to work on the Inbound/Outbound Firewall settings today and see if this will resolve the issue.

• Printer shown as offline when try to print but is connected to network

When I try to print nothing happens and a check on the computer of the status of the printer states that it is offline. A test of the ENVY 4500 printer shows that it is connected and to the same network as the HP computer. My tablet is also unable to find the printer.

Hello Barton46, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues. I would like to help!
I would recommend powering down the printer and the computer, and unplugging the power cord from your router for 60 seconds. After the router begins broadcasting again, power up your printer and computer.
I would also suggest following this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Also, do you have any other devices wirelessly connected? Do they have any issue printing?
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

• Laserjet P1006 does not print in windows 7 x64 even though the status of the printer is "printing"

HP LaserJet P1006
Windows 7 64-bit
No error message
No changes made to system, it never worked after installing Windows 7 64-bit
- printer properly installed and recognized as ready when plugged in
- when trying to print everything goes normal: document added in printer queue > printer status changes to printing
- but it just stays in "printing" for a few minutes and then it acts like it successfuly printed the document, showing to error, clearing the queue and going back to ready status
- and no page is being printed
- the printer harware works, because on other operating systems is has no problems (tested on two other computers): with other OS it works but with windows 7 x64 it doesn't work on another computer either
Can anyone help me with this?

• HP Laserjet 3055 printer "waiting for printer to be available" after HP Printer Software Update 3.0

I have an HP Laserjet 3055 All-in-One Printer. It has been printing just fine from my iMac running OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks) until after the HP Printer Software Update, Version 3.0, that I installed on 1 Oct 2014. Although the 3055 is shown as connected/idle to my iMac via USB, after clicking "PRINT" for a document, the print queue status soon changes from "printing" to "waiting for printer to become available", and the printer never becomes available. I have tried rebooting everything (printer, computer, text software), checking USB cable connections and changing USB ports, deleting and re-adding the 3055 printer (numerous times!) even after resetting the print system, but could there be something inherently wrong with the latest HP driver (version 19.9 for HP Laserjet 3052)? Or is it possible something else is going on? In other words, I have exhausted all the solutions I've found in these and other forums to no avail.
I have tested this printer by connecting it to my MacBook Pro (also running OX 10.9.5) but without having installed the HP Printer Software Update, Version 3.0. (Hadn't gotten around to this update...) The printer works fine, even though the driver has the same version number--19.9 for HP Laserjet 3052. So could the version 19.9 driver in the latest HP Printer Software Update be corrupted? Is there any way to reinstall that driver? Or copy the 19.9 driver from my MacBook Pro and install it on the iMac? HP only refers to the Apple Software Update process for Mavericks compatible drivers for this printer. Can I manually uninstall the HP driver for the Laserjet 3055 from my iMac and then have the iMac download the driver again in the process of re-setting up the 3055? Any suggestions appreciated.

Many thanks for your suggestions. After creating a bootable back-up, I tried the first suggestion--downloading and re-installing the HP printer driver update kit for which you kindly provided the link--but to no avail. Before downloading the driver update kit, I "reset the printing system", clearing all the installed printers, queues, etc. After re-installing the HP printer drivers, I went to System Preferences>Printers & Scanners to once again add the HP LaserJet 3055 only to discover it was already listed as installed! This I find baffling, to say then least. I tried printing and again got the "waiting for printer to be available" message. I subsequently tried deleting and re-adding the printer, going through the printing system reset again, but still no-go.
I also tried another approach to adding the printer which perhaps will shed some light on the problem. After clicking on the "+" button to add the printer, I select the "HP LaserJet 3055" which shows up as available via USB. Then, instead of using the "HP LaserJet 3052" driver that automatically appears in the "Use" [choose a driver] field, I chose "Auto Select" to see what happens. As the computer processes this request, the status message changes from "Gathering printer information..." to "Waiting for printer to become available..." And, of course, it never becomes available. This strikes me as odd, that the printer set-up system "sees" the printer accurately enough to list it as available to add but can't find it with the "Auto Select" approach to getting the appropriate driver. Of course, when I simply go with the "Use HP LaserJet 3052" driver option that, naturally enough, is the one automatically suggested by the printer set-up system, the printer is "successfully" added. I say "successfully" in quotes because it never becomes "available" to print something.
Before I try your second suggestion--downloading and re-installing the 10.9.5 combo update--I wonder if it's possible that the printing system reset process is "broken". It's as though the reset fails to clear the printer queue, making it appear that there is a pending printing job that the system is waiting to be finished. Also, as noted above, I reset the printing system prior to re-installing the HP printer driver update kit and then, after installation, the HP LaserJet 3055 magically had already been added. This makes me wonder if the printer wasn't properly "cleared" from whatever makes up the printer System Preference process during the reset.
Any other thoughts?

• Send print Request - Salary Statement

Hi,
Does anyone have any information on this button. Where is it configured, how does it send print requests, can it be changes(send to different location) and what roles does the user require.
Thanks
Points to helpers

Yep, definitely possible with EP7 and ECC6.
You need a portal role that gives you access to the Content Administration menu.
Easiest if your portal user ID is linked to an employee with payroll results in ECC (via Infotype 0105).
Open the payslip iView in the Portal Content Studio and click the preview button.
Ctrl + right click on the print button, set the Invisible flag to Yes.
Apply the change, close the personalisation dialogue, save the iView and you're done.
You'll notice after making any personalisation changes that some new entries appear in the iView properties, this is how global personalisation changes are stored. The changes then get exported with the object to your other portal systems

• XDC - print a empty page after the print job

Hi Folks,
i have a problem. i use a xdc file to select multiple trays and after the printing job an additional separator sheet should be "printed" . Its only a empty sheet, which should be at the end of the printjob.
Could somebody give me a hint? I checked the pcl commands and i got the idea to send a line feed and carriage return command, but im not sure whats happen and if this is possible, could i select the tray for this?
Thanks a lot for any Idea or Tip,
kind regards
Alex

Wasil, thanks for the response, but i havent found any info to do a separator sheet in this link. I know that i have to do this in the xdc, but i dont know how. I found a plc command to do this, but the problem is that i not understand how to fill this in the xdc.
Here ist the Part from my XDC File. Ok, its possible that this is at the wrong point, but im sure i have an error in the escaping.
The Printer i use is a Ricoh MP5002sp. I only found the escaping like i did, but i get a pdf generation error with this part:
<seq id="postDoc"><ESC/>%-12345X@PJL RDYMSG DISPLAY=""
<ESC/>H1B\L%-12345X@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL
<ESC/>H1B\L&l4H
<ESC/>H1B\L&l1T\0
<ESC/>M\B\S\N\U
<ESC/>U\LJob : \I
<ESC/>U\LDate: \D
<ESC/>U\LTime: \T
<ESC/>E
</seq>
The PLC commands i foun on a website looks like this:
\H1B\L%-12345X@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL <-- Puts printer into PCL mode
\H1B\L&l1H <-- This command pulls the sep sheet from Tray 2
\H1B\L&l1T\0 <-- Job Reset. Sets USTATUS counters etc,
\M\B\S\N\U <-- Prints user name in large characters
\U\LJob : \I <-- Prints spool ID number
\U\LDate: \D <-- Prints date
\U\LTime: \T <-- Prints time
\E <-- Exits banner page and begins actual print job
But in my case it will be enough to select the tray and "print" the empty sheet...
thanks a lot for your your help...and it could be a easy task...but it looks like im a "dau" :-)

• Sending print data..... Epson printing woes

Connected to my Macbook Pro 17" (10.6.2) is my relatively (Important bit) Epson R285 printer. The other day it started to refusing printing full stop. I would send a print job, and get the external 'Sending print data....' and that would be it. I thought I was going mad, I reinstalled the drivers, deleted loads of preferences, ran Onyx a few times and nothing.
At the same time, the 'low ink' light was flashing but like everyone else i just ignored this. I was ready to reinstall the OS and all my apps I was so desperate! I have VMWare Fusion running XP so I thought, worst case I can always print from there. Time to put the new ink in. Since it was a new printer it had those 'test, half-empty/half full cartridges' installed so €45 later, 3 new inks were installed.
On a whim, I tried printing again from 10.6 and low and behold..... it printed! Now this raises a couple of questions:
1. Why doesn't the print dialogue be more explicit in this situation: Hey 'I am not going to print unless you top me up' Granted there is a 'low ink' light and icon but not a 'bugger off, I'm not gonna print icon'
2. Is this Epson forcing the user to buy new ink? I always use to print regardless what ink was missing, invariably I just needed to print and could handle an odd colour. Now, low ink means, 'go buy more ink and I shall print!'
Anyway, anybody who has similar 'Sending print data...' print issues with an Epson printer, check you ink as it may just solve your printing problems!
regards, chris

By any chance are you using the "Gutenprint" driver for your printer? A poster in another thread noted that switching from a Gutenprint driver to a driver from Epson enabled the ink status capability.

Hi Ruswandi,
Do you have a logic that is being called in the Default logic? The Default logic runs every time you send data, try to comment out those logic one by one and then send data again to see which is causing the overflow problem.
Hope this helps,
