Google image search being cut out?

Ever since Google's image search has this new format, whenever I search up something a second time, it only shows two rows of images, instead of full screen. I will show you what I mean in a picture. Does this happen to anyone else? It happens on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. I appreciate any help/suggestions.
Thanks a bunch.

  • CPU maxing out with Google Image search, some other websites

When I try to use Google Image search or load SBNation website articles, Firefox's CPU usage maxes out and it becomes unresponsive for a good 10 seconds before it has loaded everything. This is a new problem that has popped up within the last few weeks.
I've tried disabling all addons and plugins, removing cookies, clearing cache, downgrading from the beta version to 23 and none seem to make any difference.

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Low resolution of Google Image Search results in Firefox Android

I'm new to Android, and I've noticed that Firefox brings up lower resolution Google Image search results in comparison to the same image search on Chrome for Android. When I click on an image result in Firefox it gives me the option of going through a low resolution slide show of all the image results, or clicking to see a single full size image. But that takes me out of the slide show, and then I have to backtrack to continue on with the low resolution slide show.
Chrome allows you to see the full resolution images within a slide show, allowing you to swipe from one full res image to the next.
Is there a way to get a slide show of the full size image results in Firefox Android without having to jump through all the hoops to see the full size images?
So far this is the only drawback I've seen with Firefox Android. I would much rather use it vs. Chrome because of Firefox's ability to use plug ins, especially adblock plus.

Perhaps I didn't write my post clearly enough. A Google image search on Chrome produces image results (via slideshow) of superior quality than an identical slideshow on Firefox. Your answer implies that Google sends higher resolution images to Chrome than it does to Firefox. I find that hard to believe.
Chrome apparently renders its Google image search slideshows using full size images, while Firefox does not. Rather than providing the full size images within a slideshow, Firefox seems to use lower resolution thumbnails, then forces you to click on a "Full-size image" button for each image that you want to see clearly. I was hoping there was a way around that.
My original question was if there was a way to increase the quality of the slideshow results in Firefox so you don't have to click on the image to open it up at full res., then backtrack to get back into the slideshow, then do the same thing all over again for each and every image you want to see clearly in full size. On Firefox you have to do all these extra steps that you don't have to do in Chrome. So, based on the answers so far I guess I guess that's just the way it is and there's no way around it.

  • IWeb images not showing on google image search

I've created an iWeb website but can't find any of my images on google image search, although the site appears on web search. I've created new sitemaps 4 days ago, tagged the images with iWeb SEO... I've made two separate pages of images only, not the photo album pages which I think are difficult to search / tag.
Does anyone know how long it takes Google image search to list your images. It already has listed my website on web / text search for sometime.

Do sub-pages of your site appear? I'm wondering whether your images aren't being found because the sub-pages in which they reside are not being found...
One of the biggest problems with iWeb is the way it creates your navigation bars. Instead of using standard HTML which search engines can use to correctly find all files on your website, it uses Javascript which makes it extremely hard for search engines to scan and index your website properly.

  • Google Image Search Results

Hey, I'm trying to get started pulling google image search
results into a flash document so that I can start animating them
with actionscript. Does anyone know of a good tutorial or sample
for this? I'm working on it by just diving into the code, but the
javascript and the google api are a little over my head. thanks.
    I'm working in as 2.0

    Hi cwallentin,
Thank you for your patience. I did some checking and this is what I’ve found out. The Google search capabilities built into the app use the native Google strict filtering for legal reasons and to maintain the app content rating “Everyone”. This in combination with only showing images marked as available for “commercial reuse” will limit your results with certain searches.

  • I don't have access to Google Images Search since I installed the latest update for https everywhere (today)

I have installed the https everywhere add-on a while ago.
Since I've done this I've never been able to click on images each time I was doing a Google search from their first page of results ("search everything"), but I could still find images by going directly to Google Images search.
Since I installed the latest update for https everywhere this morning, I simply cannot search a single image with Google, which is a problem as I'm a professional art historian.
I get the message"Your search - rembrandt - could not be completed with the requested search options. Reset search tools".
But resetting the search tools don't change anything. I'm working on a Mac, if it helps.

I had the same problem although it was a previous update rather than this one that caused the problem. Just hadn't got round to doing something about it - was using Bing images instead.
I searched for some answers this morning and seemed like most suggestions were a nuisance to try. Couldn't find 'Preferences button of HTTPS-Everywhere' as suggested above. Decided to check if No Script was blocking it. Sure enough. So problem is solved.
Thought I'd put it out there in case it helps someone else. Appreciate that people are so helpful on here.

  • Google image search liked navigation script

    Hi!
I'm looking for navigation script that would do something like in Google image search, that you can either use side scroll bar to scroll down the thumbnail page, or use mouse wheel for scroll up down.
The part that open up extended menu with enlarged thumbnail after clicking on a thumbnail isn't really necessary at this point, but if script come with it that be really amazing.
Is there script like that out there?
    Thanks in advanced.

This is a script I found, it's a scroll bar script. What I'm thinking is somehow to use mouse wheel to move ScrollDragger and trigger scrollDraggerPress.
I wonder if there is a listener that detect scrollDragger move to a new position and so it call scrollDraggerPress.
Or if there better option for me, please let me know too. thank you

  • Google Images Search Is HiJacked

Recently, my Google Images search function began redirecting me to retail purchase sites when I click an image. The function finds images, but instead of redirecting to the associated image page (when I click on a specific image), it instead routes me to a "related" merchandise site. So, something is "thinking" here, because it closely matches the image category I choose and routes me to a different, but specific same-type site to buy something.
Here's the kicker. I'm on a Mac. Until now, I only ever experienced this on my PC and would use the usual Malware scrubbers to clean everything out.
Does this ring a bell to anyone?
    Thanks!

Zackpm, thank you for responding. Sorry it took a couple of days to respond back.
I get various re directs. They are different almost every time with different searches, but once in a particular search say, "basketball uniforms" then the re direct is the same site no matter which uniform picture I click.
Here's the most recent re direct when I was searching for trophy plaque sample pics. Additionally, here is the web site link:
    http://www.rivasearchpage.com/?q=&aid=810&n=5
Very frustrating, as this is happening almost every search I do.

  • Help with removing images from Google image searches with Dreamweaver

I made a sight in dreamweaver, and need to remove a page from that website with some old images. So I removed the link and moved the webpage from the root folder. And If I go into dreamweaver the page is blank showing the image has been removed.
But the images are still showing up in google image searches even though I removed them in dreamweaver and re-uploaded the sight successfully. How do I remove them form the internet completely so they no longer show up in google images??

  • Google Image Search Does Not Load, Among Other Websites

I think this problem started a little bit after I upgraded to Leopard. I thought it was a problem with the wireless network I was using, but that wasn't it. I connected directly to my modem via ethernet cable, but to no avail. The problem also persists when I connect to my own home network through the Airport Extreme.
My Google Image Search usually yields such results:
    http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture1qs8.png
Another webpage that I cannot load is deviantART. Sometimes I can get through with NoScript on, but even so the website layout doesn't load correctly.
Pages that don't even load and result in a timeout are manga.clone-army.org and megatokyo.com.
I can access these sites through a tunnel. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.16, but Safari is not able to load these pages either. I know that other computers, both Mac and PC are able to load the pages I cannot.
    Any help?

Here's some tweaks that should speed up Firefox for you:
Type about:config into firefox's address bar, hit return you will see all the current settings
Scroll down to "network.http.pipelining" then ctrl-click on it and select "Toggle" to make it True
Scroll down to "network.http.proxy.pipelining" then ctrl-click on it and select "Toggle" to make it True
Scroll down to “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” then ctrl-click on it and select Modify and enter 30
Then you need to add in a variable to the list, ctrl-click and select "New Integer". A menu will popup asking for you to enter the name of this integer. Enter "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
Close the config window and try loading the problem URL again.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

After upgrading 3.6.7, in "google image search" all the results appears in one page, I just need to go back to the previous way of search : page after page.......??
where can I adjust this option ?? I tried in IE, the search way is normal as in past..
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

I believe this to be a browser issue, not a google search results issue, and here is why:
having updated Firefox only yesterday, I visited google images searching for pancakes.... interestingly, I have the NEW image results (yuck) on Firefox 3.6.8, I have the OLD image results on IE8 and Opera 10.53.
When I use the 'switch to basic version' in Firefox 3.6.8, indeed it DOES revert to the new format next time I image search (in Firefox).
For those of us who prefer the OLD image results page, I guess we will just have to switch browsers for google image search.
Now I'm off to research how to get rid of the UGLY FFox sidebar.

  • Images not loading.. blue question mark(myspace and on google image search)

not all images but the majority are not showing. Iv tried deleting everything possible to try and make it work. Its the same with other browsers as well. do i need a plug-in to get it to work.

If you're talking about Anomaly Industries Google Image search, I've had no success with it with my notebook or desktop, Tiger or Leopard. A shame, because it was the most (only?) useful widget I'd discovered. The others give you a page of images. This one could bypass all the advertising and provide a bountiful collection of individual slides. I have a hunch that the program has been "neutralized"--Google would be the most likely suspect.
