Google Maps widget for Captivate 4

Hi people,
I am planning to create a google maps widget for captivate 4. Something like it will load a map of the location(longitude, latitude) set by the project author in the published SWF at runtime.
If you like the idea, then please give your suggestions and options which you would like to see in the widget. Then what kind of controls you want to have in the widget.

Hey there,
Take a look at this web address

This includes a Google Map widget created by the Adobe Captivate team.

  • Google map widget for i web

When I try to insert the google map widget, in the windows there is "mobileme is closed".
    How can resolve the problem?
    Thanks

The map widget doesn't work now that MobileMe is closed. You need to create the code at maps.google.com...

  • How can I make my own google map widget for ibooks?

    Hello,
I am wanting to add some custom maps to an iBook.  I know there are a few sites out there that will build a widget for you but I am wondering how I can build my own.  Does anyone have any tips?
    Thanks!

  • Problem With Google Map Widget

I'm trying to add a google map widget to a web page and having some problems setting my exact location. I live in a rural area so I can't just type in my address. I figured I would be able to put in the Latitude & Longitude insead, but that does not work.
Is there a way to set the Latitude & Longitude? Or, is there a way to move the marker so I can get it exactly where I want it? I tried several key commands and was not able to do that either.
    Thanks for any info!

Go to Google Maps itself, find your location and use the provided links to display that page in a HTML Snippet with the <iframe> HTML element :
    <iframe src="http://url.to.file.html" frameborder="0" width="500" height="500" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
Adjust the width and height to fit the page.
    Here's how I do it :

  • Google Maps Widget Not Showing Marker

I've added the Google Maps Widget to my page, but the marker doesn't show in the map:  http://www.lessue.com/JUNK2GO/les-sue_contact.htm.  The map is positioned correctly but a marker is needed.  addMarker() should be at least be showing "We are Here" according to the script.  I also added my own marker image to the icon:" " attribute thinking I needed to supply it, but that doesn't work either.  What am I missing?  Thank you.

As far as the other widgets are concerned, the author of the widget may be able to help you.

  • Google map widget markup did not show up?

    Hi guys,
I am using Zizzer Zazzer version for Google map widget. When I click the checkmark on for "Show Marker". The marker pin did not show up on the map, I even tested with regular Google Map - it did show the markup pin. Do you know how to fix this issue?

  • Is it possible to have multiple locations in the Google Maps widget?

    Hey folks,
Lets say you're designing a website for a client with multiple stores, you just want to point them all out, right?
Just want to know if it is possible to have multiple locations in the Google Maps widget. I guess it shouldn't be that difficult, but I can't figure it out..
any help would be highly appreciated!
    thanks,
    Thom

It seems that you can only use one address for this widget.
For this to work you will need to create the map in Google Maps with all your points and then copy the embed .html from Google into Muse.
Example of an embed google map with multiple points imported into Muse:

  • Google Maps Widget

I have a fundamental question. Is it legal, the Google Maps widget on business websites to use? This site is purely informative Art
    Thanks for binding Answers

Google give links so you canput maps on your web pages so I presume it is legal.
If you are unsure then read all the terms and conditions on the Google maps site.
I have used an API key to put a customised map on a web page Google give all parts of the code, you just have to choose the bits you want and put it together.
the easiest solution for iweb I would suggest is just to put the map in an iframe in the snippet - again Google provide all the code needed.
Hope that is of some use to you.

  • Google Map Widget & IE8

    Hi all,
I'm wondering if anybody else is having trouble with using the google map widget displaying in IE, and if so how have you resolved it.
I have just put together my first site for my wife (currently live on http://web.me.com/chris_payne) and have been testing it in all the browsers. Seems fine in Safari, Firefox & Chrome but IE is proving to be a painful experience!
I have considered not using the widget and just using google map code in an html widget - the only problem I have if I go this route is I can't work out how to get rid of the big speech bubble that appears on the map.
Really grateful for any help offered (and any feedback on the site, including how I can get it to perform better).
    Thanks ever so, Chris
PS - I know the photos are bad quality, they will be improved before the site goes fully live!

The bubble appears when you click the red pin.
To get rid of the bubble, click the close box or click on an area of the map.

  • When i try to use my google maps widget i get mobileme is closed...any suggestions?

Can anyone advise how my mobileme account was linked to the iweb "google maps" widget. i get mobileme is closed when trying to use the widget on my new website

The Google Maps widget had "API's" that were hosted on the MobileMe Servers.
You can still use google map however, you will need to get the embed code from google and paste it into a "HTML Snipet" in iWeb
You will want to copy the "<iframe" for the html Snippet

  • Using iWeb when I drag across a google maps widget I get the box but no map. It is as though I am not attached to the internet. Any ideas?

Often discussed in this forum since MobileMe closed.
Search this forum for "google maps".
    Or go to Google Maps.
Find your spot on the globe.
    Grab the code (chain icon).
Add a HTML snippet to your page.
    Paste the code.

  • Google Maps widget doesn't work in IE7 or IE6 on PC

After redesigning my site, and adding 2 widgets (countdown timer and google maps), I QA-ed the site on my PC.
The Google Maps widget is not working. I get a JavaScript error "undefined is null".
    ***?!

unfortunately a LOT of people still use IE 6 and own cruddy PC's! Whenever I look at the Awestats for any of my sites, one of the main things I look at is what browsers are used to view my sites. IE6 and 7 are the largest percentage.
What Apple really needs to do is dummy down some of their bloated JavaScript or at least while testing out their new releases - get a cruddy Dell with IE 6 and 7 and even Netscape on it and see what viewers will see when visiting an iWeb developed site. Apple is way ahead of the average population of internet users (kudos to Apple and its why I own a Mac) however, the average population of internet users are not sophisticated enough to upgrade their computers/browsers. It would be nice if Apple would humble their applications just a little bit.
It's not just widgets that pitter out on IE but entire iWeb sites. It's all in the heavy iWebSite.js !

  • Google map widget does not show up in published site. Any suggestions?

After I've dragged the google map widget onto my page and publish it, it does not show up in the published site. Any suggestions?

Try publishing to a local folder and double clicking the index.html file to launch your site in the browser direct from your hard disk to see if the map works.
Where are you publishing to - MobileMe or another server?

  • STOPWATCH WIDGET FOR CAPTIVATE 4

Can anyone tell me how to create a stopwatch or timer widget for Captivate 4?

You don't really have to construct a widget to do that. There are two easy ways to achieve this.
    1. Make a textbox and use the $$cpInfoElapsedTimeMS$$ Captivate system variable to show the elapsed time since the project was started. It displays the time in miliseconds,  but you could just make a rectangle in the same color as your background color and then cover up the miliseconds part of the text box. That way only the seconds will show. Remember to right-align the text in your text box.
    2. Provided that you have Flash and can use it you could make a simple flash file which reads the cpInfoElapsedTimeMS variable from Captivate - strips away the miliseconds and display the result in a dynamic text box.

  • Google map widget

Is there a way to put multiple pins on a google map when you insert it?

Put the pins on the map before you get the code to add to an HTML snippet as in this demo page: Google Direction/Route Maps.
I used the HTML snippet widget instead of the Google Maps widget.
