GOS - Questions.

Hi,
I have few questions regarding GOS.
   1) What is the use of Business Objects? Why is it required to create a BO and to link it with GOS object?
  2) I have a z-table. For every entry there will be some documents uploaded by using GOS.. Now, If I delete a record from the z-table, all the documents those are related to that  record should be deleted from the repository.  It is not removing the corresponding documents in the repository, if I delete a record from the z-table.
Thanks in advance!
-Vivek LR

Anyone knows answers of these questions? If yes, please share it.
Thanks,
Vivek LR

  • GOS - Saving in the filesystem

    Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to save the file send thrue the GOS into the SAP filesystem ??
I have played with OAC0 / OAC1 / OAC3 / SWO1 ... and finaly with SKPR08, but I can't find a way to simply saved the document into a file in the SAP system (the best would be with logical filename)
    Any help

  • TREX - Generic Object Services (GOS) - CV04N -Content Server

    Hello,
I'v installed a content server / maxdb, and i forwarded the attached files (Gos) to this content repository.
I'v installed TREX  and I can see the fields in the CV04N.
    Just one question :
Can I search some documents via TREX (CV04N), or what is the best practice for storing the attachments and search it with TREX ?
    Thanks
    Stéphane.

Once the Content Server is installed, set the Content Server for indexing preparation:
-Start the function Monitoring for Knowledge Provider (transaction code SKPR07).
    -Enter the document class DMS_PCD1.
    -Select Edit > Administration.
A dialog box appears where the following data is preset(if no,then please select the same):
    1.Document Area
    DMS
    2.Administration table
    DMS1DIDSTA
    3.Class can be indexed
    X
    -Set the indicator: Setup indexing.
-Select in Customizing of Document Management the MIME types that you want to be read for the full text search; under General Data > Settings for storage systems > Create MIME types for full text search.
-Schedule the full text search for cyclical background preparation.
Execute transaction Start job (transaction code SM36).
Schedule the job for the following ABAP program: RSTIRIDX (Report for indexing stored documents).
    Test retrieval document search using:
    Transaction: SKPR07
Enter Document Class "DMS_PCD1", Language "EN", Document Class "DMS",and try "TEST search".

  • Services for Object (GOS) Attachement List not showing after attachment

    Hi All,
I have created a new entry for the Generic Object Service List and this links to a copy of the CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE class (Create attachment) with some additional logic. However, after attaching a file, the "Attachment List" does not become available until after I re-enter the transaction. The attachment list is showing the correct attachments.
After some (understatement...) investigation, I found that even if I try and link the new service to a unchanged copy of the CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE service in SGOSATTR, it is not working. It is attaching fine, but the "Attachment List" entry in the Services for Object Menu is still greyed out. If I attach the original class CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE to the newly created entry it works fine. e.g. straight after I attach a file to the transaction, the menu entry becomes available.
I can't find where the re-draw of the GOS menu happens and hence can not determine what is going wrong. Does anybody know if this is part of the Kernel or is this actually done in ABAP ?
Am I missing something ? Debugging including system debugging for two days now and can't find it... very frustrating.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Wouter.

    Hi Wouter,
I had originally posted to ask if you had resolved this since I was facing the same issue, but then deleted my post when I was able to get it working. Sorry, I didn't mean to initiate a flurry of activity in such an old thread.
My scenario is I created a new GOS service entry in table SGOSATTR using transaction SGOSM. My new service uploads attachments to an external document management system via a call to a RESTful web service. The class I use in the SGOSM entry is a custom subclass of CL_GOS_SRV_URL_CREATE.
I resolved this issue by taking a look at what CL_GOS_SRV_URL_CREATE does in its EXECUTE method. The key bits to refresh the GOS Attachment List with the new attachment are...
raise event commit_required. " if SGOSM has the commit flag checked
    raise event service_succeeded
           exporting eo_service = me.
These events tell any subscribers to go do their thing-- which in this case includes a refresh of the GOS Attachment List. So in the EXECUTE method of my custom subclass, after I call function BINARY_RELATION_CREATE, I raise these events...
    CALL FUNCTION 'BINARY_RELATION_CREATE'
       EXPORTING
           obj_rolea     = gs_object
           obj_roleb    = rel_doc
           relationtype = 'URL'
       EXCEPTIONS
           OTHERS       = 1.
    CASE sy-subrc.
       WHEN 0.
MESSAGE s043(sgos_msg). " The attachment was successfully created
           RAISE EVENT commit_required.
           RAISE EVENT service_succeeded
                 EXPORTING eo_service = me.
       WHEN OTHERS.
MESSAGE s042(sgos_msg). " The attachment has not been created
    ENDCASE.
I hope this is helpful to you even though your initial implementation was a while back. Thanks for replying to my question though!!
    Cheers,
    Amy

  • Transaction KB16N business-object type and key for GOS

When attachments (notes, PC documents etc) are made to a manual cost allocation in transaction KB16N using GOS (generic object services):
      what is the business-object type?
how is the business-object key constructed?
I suspect that the business-object type is BUS6036.
I suspect that the business-object key is the concatenation of the controlling area and the document number (using internal values).
    Is that correct?
The reason for my question is that I have a program to display attached notes (and allow drill-down to attached PC documents) that works for various business objects (billing documents, purchasing documents and some FI documents), but I cannot get it to work for manual cost allocations.
    John

    Hi Michele
The transaction you are looking for should be SWO1
Then put the ex "BUS2000116" into the Object/Interface type and ...
    Guess it will help you

  • Questions about persistent USB Linux

I'm looking into several options for loading Linux on a flashdrive, to have a custom desktop on the go, but I have some questions:
Assuming I go with the persistent option(saving changes, newly created documents, settings, etc.), can I expect the flash drive to "wear out" within the year or so? I'm using a cheap, 1GB flash disk(probably from Walmart, but I'm not sure).
Would it be possible to do kernel upgrades for setups like [persistent] gOS on a flash disk?
    Thanks.

In Faunos, the data that you desire to save is written to overlay via squashfs at the option of the user when re-booting or shutting down.
The decision is made at a prompt during the reboot procedure wherein "session save" is answered with "yes" or "no".
Any activity which is not saved is erased from ram.  This permits the system to utilize packages downloaded during a session, running them in ram, and then dumping them at reboot.
Puppy utilizes a file in HDD or USB to record saved data.
The data saved in Faunos is written to overlay(s) and requires space in the flash device to accomodate increased storage.
I hope this info is helpful.............

  • Problem GOS read_links of "follow-on" BKPF document

    Hello,
I have problem reading GOS links ( with CL_BINARY_RELATION=>read_links or any similar methods/FMs ) of FI document (type BKPF).
In SRGBTBREL table there are also no entries for this BKPF document  (in INSTID_A).
BUT I can see attachments + notes in FB03 Attachment list for this document.
After debbuging FB03 Attachment list I have found, that BKPF document does not have directly attached files, even though I can see them in FB03. Because it is "follow-on document" for invoice (which have some attached files), and there is also WF and PO in relationship browser (they have also another attachments, seen in FB03).
FB03 GOS attachment list prepares all these objects (document,invoice,WF,PO..) and reads attachments for all of them.
My question - how to read these links / attachments when I know only BKPF document in my program? Do I have to somehow programaticaly search for previous objects (invoice, PO, WF..) and after it read their attachments? I Thought that it is done automaticaly by CL_BINARY_RELATION=>read_links)...
    Problem is on 731 release.

Ok, I answer to myself with what I found so far:
In FB03 attachments are obtained from bussines objects:
BKPF (document itself) - can be read by read_links, but in my case I have none attachmens on BKPF directly
BUS2081 (invoice) - can be read by read_links, but need use BKPF-AWKEY = RBKP-BELNR & GJAHR as key
I also found unreleased function FB_DOC_GET_GOS_LINKS which helped me a lot to understand where attachments come from.
In my case it was all from BUS2081 invoice. Few attachments directly attached in GOS (read by read_links method) and rest were attached on content server (can be read for example with ALINK_RFC_DOCUMENTS_GET).

  • GOS - Displaying Attachments service

    Hi everyone,
Using GOS dispalying attachment service, i get attachment list with standard buttons (Create, display, export...). My question is - is it possible to exclude some of those functions(buttons), for example make it impossible to delete attachments?
    I'm using SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH and
    SWU_OBJECT_DISPATCH_SERVICE function modules.
    Thanks a lot!
    MaryM

Can you be a little more specific? This BAdI works great if the value is in the SGOSATTR table, but I can't find how to remove the delete button from the View Attachments subscreen.
    Thanks.

  • How to add GOS toolbox to standard transaction

    Hello, Experts.
I want to add GOS(Generic Object Service) toolbox to these transaction: VK12, KE42, KE52, etc.
so that i can store business document directly from transaction.
The question is, what should i do to add the GOS toolbox to these transactions?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jiujiang,
You can do it yourself without basis help. Follow the following steps.
From your transaction, go to System -> User Profile -> Own Data
You will reach a new screen. Select the 3rd view "Parameters"
Add one more line with Parameter ID as SD_SWU_ACTIVE and parameter value as "X". Save
Now when you go to any document with your transaction. Services for Objects will appear to the left of "CHANGE Quotation xxxxx : OVERVIEW".
    Look also this thread:
    Hope this helps,
    Iván.

  • Associating GOS Attachments to a KEY

    Hi,
I am currently using GOS to attach an object in a current transaction.  The GOS is working fine when attaching objects.  My problem is... How can I relate the attached object to a KEY.  For example, PO as a key, how can I associate those attachments under that PO number, so whenever I enter the PO i will get those attachments in the "Attachment list" and whenever I enter a different PO... different attachments will appear depending on the saved attachments under that PO.  Am i clear with my question?
    ex.
PO1 has 2 attachments associated with it, att1 and att2.
PO2 has 1 attachment associated with it, att3.
When I reenter the transaction and enter PO2, i shoul get att3 and when I enter PO1 i should get att1 and att2 in the "Attachment List."

I am not sure which weblog you are referring to.
the simplest way to have GOS tool bar in custom program is to call
    FM
    call function 'SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH'
    exporting
    objtype = 'REPORT'
    objkey = sy-repid
    exceptions
    objtype_not_found = 1
    others = 2.
object type has to be a Business object (SWO1)
just do a committ work after the function call.
if you want to programatically do this you can use FM
    BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF

  • RFCs to create GOS attachment

    Hi Experts,
I'm not ABAPer at all. Here are only my suppositions and please do not judge me strictly.
I need to upload PDF file as a GOS attachment to the QM notification from external system (SAP MII) using RFC. As I found out there is no remote-enabled FM for this. There is only SGOS_NOTE_CREATE for notes. I investigated it and found out that all FM's that are used inside it are remote-enabled.
Question: is it possible to call from my external system same 3 FMs as in SGOS_NOTE_CREATE (SO_FOLDER_ROOT_ID_GET, SO_OBJECT_INSERT, BINARY_RELATION_CREATE_COMMIT) to create attachment instead of note? I guess that in general i need to provide SO_OBJECT_INSERT with some other parameters than it is done in SGOS_NOTE_CREATE, so it will create attachment-object instead of note-object in SAPoffice. Is this way possible, or there should be more steps to create attachment?
    thanks in advace,
    Petr

  • Subscription to events in GOS not works in MM0X Transaction

    Dear Folks,
i'm sorry to get on your nerves but i have another question today:
I created a BO Z_BUS1001 as subtype to BO BUS1001 (with delegation) and created a new event CHANGED which is triggered by an update (with change documents). This works and i can see the event in SWEL.
What i am now planning to do is that the user can subscribe to an object-instance.
So i created a linkage in SWE2 like it is described for event BUS1001.CHANGED
    Receiver Call                            Function Module
    Receiver Function Module        SGOSSUB_REC_FB_SEND_MAIL
    Check Function Module            SGOSSUB_CHECK_FB
After that i maintained an entry in SGOSSUB and checked the field "Subscription".

    Someone knows the issue?

    Hi Christian Gebert,
I have the same problem. You could solved it?

  • Questions on Print Quote report

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to Oracle Quoting and trying to get familiar with it. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone answers them
    1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
    2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

This is detailed in many threads. Thanks
