Got a black screen on the iPod Touch 4th Generation. Tried restoring it and holding the lock and hold buttons but this didnt work. Do i need a brand new screen?

If you successfully restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem. Could be the screen or something else.

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. How does the system you have been given not work with your iPod? What is the problem?
What is your point about the 4th generation adaptor? The "adaptor" is merely a physical piece of plastic that sits in the Docking Station's dock and creates the exact shape for your model of iPod to fit snugly into it. So a 1st or 2nd generation iPod would not benefit in any way from a 4th gen adaptor.
Are you trying to find a portable iPod Docking Station that works without mains power?

I have a ipod touch 4th generation and i have backed it up onto my brothers laptop about 1 week before i broke the plug for the screen on the motherboard, So now its getting repaired just need to get the parts for it to get it fixed. The statement "(it's not actually part of the backup but will automatically be redownloaded from the iTunes store when you restore)." only applies if you restore from an iCloud backup. If yo restore from an iPod backup made by iTunes you have to manually redownload the music
