All old emails are showing that they are there but there are no contents when you try to open them.

right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button. A new index will be generated which may fix the issue or make the empty mails disappear because they are no longer available to be indexed.
BTW look in your anti virus program for quarantined files with names like inbox

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

Thanks David. I had to convert the mts file to Quick Time (using AunSoft Conversion software) before I could import it into Final Cut Express. And I made sure I kept the size of movie (720 X 480 with letterbox) to compliment what I set my Panaconic AVCCAM video recorder at (720/60). Even after I fully render it, it still looks fuzzy in the Canvas window at the right that plays what I have editing down in the Timeline. A friend that edits some using Final Cut Pro helped me to narrow things down to this problem. This is also wierd. If my Viewer window at the left is set to 200% to get the person's head the same size in the Canvas window at the right we needed to put it to 400%. Does this make any sense. We think we need to control the Time line resolution somehow but cannot find any options from my manual, or the help, or in the various drop down menus. Do you have any clue? What is going on?

I'm not sure what causes this.
As the first step, I recommend backing up your existing sessionstore files.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Scroll down to the files whose names start with sessionstore. You should find at least sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak. If the .js extension does not appear on sessionstore, you should turn off the Windows feature that hides file extensions from you, so that you can work with file names as accurately as possible. Make backup copies of all the sessionstore files to somewhere like your Documents folder for possible later restoration.
Next, try one of the data mining techniques in these posts to rescue the URLs from the sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak file:

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

I have deleted all my photos and videos from my camera role and all my photos are there and they are safe but my videos they are there but they dont play. it only shows a picture of it there is no way of playing them ... have i lost the videos then?

someone please help i went to a concert and took tones of videos and pics but then when i got home my camera role was full so i looked on icloud and saw that everything has been saved on there so i didnt worry about deleteing all of my videos and photos but then when i did that ( always the way it goes ya dont reolize until its to late :@ ) all my videos wont play they have almost just turned into photos. you see the start image like on camera role thing but you cant click on it to play the video

Welcome to the Apple Community Diane.
I find that shared video can be troublesome, a few haven't appeared to work as you describe but have done when I've looked at a later date. Hopefully they will work if you give them a bit longer. perhaps it would be a good idea if you make sure they are working before deleting them from the camera roll.

I see it was purchased on my computer in my account and the charges for it and can even see where it is on my iPad on the computer but can't find it on the iPad itself. It is not in Videos. I have this problem every time I rent movies and somehow I eventually find it but I don't know how it eventually gets on the iPad. I'm leaving on a trip and want to watch it on the way.

None of my "paid" books will open in iBooks. They show they are there, but when I open them all I get is a blank page. I have checked all the newbie mistakes. Mavericks will not let me uninstall and reinstall iBooks.

I have deleted and re-loaded the books and they show in my library (as they always did), but when I open them, all I get is a blank page with three dots at the bottom, flashing in sequence. This does not affect the free books from the book store nor does it affect the PDF I have loaded myself. (I had this problem on my iPad when the latest big software came out about a year or two ago, but I was able to re-initalize the complete iPad from my Pro Book.) I have tried just about everything I can think of, but all to no avail. To save time, I have reset my iTunes password and performed all the other "Apple Tips" in the support section, but after 5 hours I am giving up. Surely someone else must be having the same issue??

Yup, same issue since installing Mavericks. iBooks works fine on my wife's Macbook Pro, but on my Mac Pro none of my purchased (protected) books will open - only the free/unprotected ones.
I'm asked for my AppleID password, but nothing happens when I try to open a purchased and downloaded book. I deauthorized, reauthorized, etc ... nothing. Each purchased book that I double-click gives me a dialog asking for my Apple ID password. Nothing else.
I was already buying more books via Kindle than iTunes and this just seals the deal for me. At least I can read my already-purchased iBooks books on my iPad still...

All Inbox emails can't be seen but can be opened by a right click and 'Open Message in New Tab'.
The Inbox appears blank but if clicked on then the shaded bar of an e-mail appears so they are all there. I've several Inboxes (this is my main and most important) and they seem unaffected.
Moving an e-mail elsewhere takes its invisibility with it! Other folder contents show up.
The Repair Folder in Properties seems to have no effect.

You could have determined the presence of the pages by typing the pagenames in the URL.
The second option was to connect to the server and see with your own eyes what is there.
And since you do not use a Sitename in the URL, I assume you uploaded the files yourself instead of letting iWeb do the honours.
Regarding the Photo page, I do not see any photos on the page. Yet they are on the server too :

If you did put the files on the server yourself, verify that you did upload every single file iWeb creates.
Edit : since the directories are open, you may want to consider closing them. Ask your webhoster to do it for you.

Loading the last two versions of the ITunes software to my Dell computer has produced unacceptable results. None of the pull down menus are showing the menu choices and none of the content on my IPod Touch shows up in the appropriate window. As a result, I have an interface with no functionality. It does still sync my Touch but that is all. I assume a missing font set. Any suggestions on how to correct these issues.
I also now get a message that ITunes cannot play back anything on my computer and a request to reinstall the software - which I have done multiple times both the original and the upgrade.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.
