GPU Panic with Thunderbolt Display after upgrading to 10.9.3

Hi everybody! I have a MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012 and use it with a Thunderbolt Display 27". After upgrading to 10.9.3, a GPU Panic error started annoying me. All displays (thunderbolt and mac) go black and I have to hold down the power button to force the shutdown and then power on.
Sometimes, I connect the display and it works for some days. Sometimes, it crashes just when I connect the thunderbolt display. It's just not what we expect from such premium product.
I've read the posts similar to this, did a PRAM reset, etc, but none of this worked for me. Any ideas?
This is the last crash log I had today. Please anybody help me! Thanks.

  • Kernel panics with attached Drobo after upgrade to 10.6.4

    Hi all,
I have the original four-bay Drobo, attached to a Mac Pro via USB. The Drobo Dashboard reports that both it and the Drobo's firmware are up-to-date with the latest versions.
The Drobo worked happily for several months attached to the Mac Pro running OS 10.6.3 and lower. However, after upgrading to 10.6.4, the machine will sporadically (though consistently) kernel panic. I have determined that the problem is with the Drobo — if the Drobo is physically unattached, the machine does not kernel panic; once attached, it will kernel panic, often within 10 minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can resolve this problem?
    Thanks so much in advance.

I have a DroboPro here, and I also started experiencing this problem when I upgraded to 10.6.4. When connected via iSCSI, my machine would panic within a day or two, and sometimes much quicker than that.
I tried working around the problem by switching the Drobo over to USB. While that did prevent the panics in the iSCSI kernel extension, I started seeing corruption in my video output after a couple of days, so I was still forced to reboot every other day to keep the machine usable.
Even with the Drobo disconnected, I still saw the video corruption problem, but after I uninstalled the Drobo Dashboard completely, the problem has gone away. Thankfully, I can still use the Drobo via USB even without that installed, but the performance is dramatically lower than what I got with iSCSI.
If anyone has a better solution, I would very much appreciate hearing about it!

  • Blue Screen on MBA with Thunderbolt Display after wake-up

    I'm running a MBA (summer 2012, OSX 10.8.3) with a Thunderbolt display.
Very often after wake-up, I have a blue screen on the built-in monitor while the external display shows the login-screen. The MBA is frozen and I have to enforce a restart.
Any ideas to resolve the problem much appreciated.

ARD works only across a network, not via Target Display Mode. Your MBA will need to be connected to and active on your local network to be able to take control of your MBA from your MBP. I'm not certain if you can take control of a Mac connected via Target Display Mode, though I do know that applications on the system keep running, so it may be possible.
Note, though, that you don't need ARD to accomplish this assuming it is possible. The screen sharing feature built into OS X allows you to control on Mac from another with no extra software required.
    Regards.

  • Download, battery, and sleep problems on macbook pro with retina display after upgrading to Mountain lion

After waiting a few days to download OS X Mountain lion, I finally installed it on my new MacBook with retina display a couple days ago. I love the interface and all the new features, but I've noticed some problems I really need to resolve. I'm constantly downloading large files and I noticed thhis change:
Before, on Lion, I could download files from Safari or the Internet and the computer would sleep whenever it was set to on energy preferences and the download would resume. This would let the computer conserve energy so the download could progress further when on battery. Now, I noticed that my computer never goes to sleep! Its set to have the display sleep in 5 minutes and the computer in 15 on both battery and when plugged in, but it never does either. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that power nap is on even when using battery. So now the Mac is constantly on when downloading something and instead of downloading a one gigabyte file that would take up 15% of my battery, it takes up 60% since it never sleeps. When I tried downloading something and then manually putting the computer to sleep, the download was interrupted and it said Wi-Fi connection lost so I have to start the download over again.
That's basically all three problems in one situation. I even put the brightness all the way on low so the screen is black when downloading, but it still uses up much more battery than before. Can someone help find a solution?

Did you try turning off power nap?

  • Connecting my macbook pro with retina display after upgrading my OS to Mountain Lion

I have been using my macbook pro with retina display for more than a month and I can connect it to my HD Television, Fine. But since I upgraded my OS to mountain Lion, I can no longer connect it to my television.  Did apple missed something with mountain lion? I know there is nothing wrong with my connection, so something is wrong with the new mountain lion OS.  Can people from APPLE help me?

No one from Apple here - this is a user-to-user forum. I don't have a Retina but if you could let us know how you were connecting (HDMI>HDMI, for example) perhaps someone will be able to help you out.

  • Auto Lock/Unlock is not working when the iPad cover is closed or opened for iPad 4 with retina display after upgrading to ios7.

As the title above, is there any solutions for that? I tried restarting my Ipad and i've double checked the auto lock/unlock button is on.

I have the same problem also.  Restarting isn't helping and the auto lock/unlock button is on.  Plus a couple of time when I turn it on it is asking if I want to power off.  That is when I push the button on the front to wake it up.  Not the power button on top.  I have an IPAd 2. Worked fine before the update.

  • No sound from Thunderbolt Display after update to OS X 10.9.3

So I updated to 10.9.3 this morning only to find there is no sound coming from my Thunderbolt Display after installation. Sound is now only audible from my MacBook Pro (late 2011). Also, see image below, there is no sign of any connected inputs other than my MBP now. I've shutdown and restarted a number of times, but still no audio from the display.
Really starting to wonder why it's worth spending so much on Apple products now...

I sent my TB Display in for repair. They had it almost a week and didn't find anything wrong with it. Instead they took in my MacBook Pro and replaced the logic board (2nd time it had been replaced) and the Display seems to be working fine now.
...except that for using 3rd party video conf apps, those apps only pick up the MBP camera (even though i try to change settings in app), not the TBD camera... but FaceTime and Skype find the TBD camera.
    Strange.

I completely agree with that sentiment. That's why we pay through the nose for their products, so it feels very bad when they don't just work.

  • Problem with Java Script after upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI7

    Dear Colleagues,
We're facing the issue with Java Script after upgrade of BW 3.5 to BI7.
Just after update we checked the basic functionality and it occured that some of web templates that use Java Script don't work. They generate seelction screen, but after selection the screen becomes blank without any error messages.
We're currently stucked since web templates weren't converted to BI7 version so they should work exactly as before the upgrade.
We compared the Java code with other environment that was not upgraded - it's perfectly the same.
The only explanation that comes to my mind is that some Java Script settings on the server level were changed during the upgrade but I have no idea where I can check that.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
    Andrzej Bobula

    Hi Deepu,
Thanks, it was great to read your reply and then few minutes later talk to you live on SDN Day!
Unfortunately, http cache clean-up did not help. But there is another funny thing I found - for exactly the same 3.5 webtemplate html code returned from WebAS 3.5 was different then from 7.0.
Unfortunately, this editor does not allow to paste complete code, even in CODE brackets, but here are main differences:
    <b>3.5</b>
if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer")
    <frame src="/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=E&PAGENO=1&REQUEST_NO=1&CMD=GET_TEMPLATE"

    and

    <frame src="/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=E&PAGENO=8&REQUEST_NO=0&CMD=GET_TEMPLATE"
    name="Content" 0nLoad="javascript:loadTitle()">
(I intentionaly put 0 i/o o in 0nLoad, otherwise Forum's editor does not accept the text.
How about SAP's claim that technical upgrade from 3.x to 7.0 changes nothing?

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

At first my keyboard did not work with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5 and I found the workaround by using "cmd + tab," however, once my keyboard work within Citrix, the "command, control, and option" keys no longer work.  Does anyone have a remedy for this?

  • OS X 10.7.2.2 issues with Thunderbolt Display

Help! With Thunderbolt display, Mac-mini and OS X 10.7.2.2 I get a blank screen when mini reawakens from sleep. Moving the cursor around like a paint brush reveals a portion of the underlying log-in screen. Once I uncover my user icon and log-in, my desktop will appear and function normally!!!
IS this caused by (1) the Thunderbolt display, (2) the latest Lion update or a combination of both ? I experienced no problems with older display and Lion 10.7 !!
    Any solutions/recommendations?

    Hello Drew,
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
