Graduated Scale

Hi All,
My client wants to enter into rental contract with customer for 3 years by increase in rental for every one year. I tried graduated scale option and maintained scales for condition record. But the price is not picking as per scales. I have maintained value'D' in scale type in condition type PPSV. How to achieve the same.
Regards
Sankar.

Hi Sankar,
I think you donu2019t have to bill all the 3year invoice today only.
You might be sending him month by month.
So if you maintain your condition record by validity period then it wont show any effect now.
Effect you can see only after one year when your 1000condition record will be scrap and it will show 1500 in the sales order.
Your pricing will be like (For Eg)
Rent 1000
Tax 10
Total = rent +tax =1000
Now if you create that sales order in next year it will be
Rent 1500
Tax 15
Total = rent +tax = 1515
If you want to see the effect of the validity period just increase the sales order date and pricing date to next.
Now check whether your sales order is showing 1500 or 1000.
I think so there will be any problem with validity period.
You can use billing plan also but how to maintain pricing I have to check out.
Regards
Raj.

Hi
Definitely there will be.
ou can maintain condition records with graduated scales. Using a graduated scale allows you to price an item for each level of a pricing scale. By comparison, when you use normal scales, the system determines one price depending, for example, on the item quantity; the same price then applies to each unit of the item. With graduated scales, the result is that multiples prices can appear in the pricing screen for an individual item.
The use of graduated scales is controlled in Customizing for SD. The scale type is entered for the definition of a condition type. The standard version of the SAP System includes condition type PR02 (Price with graduated scale). Depending on the requirements of your business processes, you can modify existing condition types or create new ones that specify graduated prices or discounts.

Note:Graduated scales are used in prices, discounts and surcharges. However you cannot used graduated scales for group conditions.

• Graduated Price Scale in an MM Contract

In ECC 6.0 we are looking to enter a pricing scale condition in a contract to put in place a discount once we hit a quantity across all our release orders.
For example, after we by 1,000,000 the price drops dramatically. There is a contract for the part with a vendor with many release orders that are summed to determine when we hit the 1,000,000th part.
Graduate price scale conditions work for individual purchase orders, but we haven't been able to get the price scale to work for the contract so that the release order with the 1,000,001th purchase is at the lower price.
Does anyone know how to implement graduated scale pricing for the purchasing contract?

Std SAP does not support this kind of solution but you can acheive with custom solution of wrok around is
make the contract with two line items having same materail and conditions except the price for second line should be the price you pay after 1000000 qty
in your case you can create contract for material with first line
is qty 1000000 @ $10 and the second line
enter any number of qty with discunted price so when you create the release order always use first line upto you reach the maximum limit and than use line item 2 for all remiaining orders.
I know this is not straight forward solution but without custom developement oyu can work only this way because in MM the accumalative functionality like SD does not exist.

• "Graduate- interval scale" i.e. Scale type D, Can it cover the many SO qty?

Hi All,
*Business wants, the Sales Order qty entered in many sales orders to be considered and given the Graduate -Interval Scale for the line items, but as per my testing this applies only for single line item in that SO!
If any one knows this can be met somehow, please share your ideas?
u201CGraduate- interval scaleu201D i.e. Scale type D, this needs to be maintained in condition type customization only!
e.g.: (For Customer/Material Disc. with condition type: K005) the Scale is set as below;
to 100 Qty 5Rs/ea Disc.
to 200 Qty 10Rs/ea Disc.
to 500 qty 12Rs/ea Disc.
If Iu2019ve two SO,
1. 23456 with Disc. line item qty as 50
2. 23457 with Disc. line item qty as 150,
The Scale should apply accordingly, i.e In First SO, for 50 Qty the Disc should be 50*5= 500 Rs,
And for Second SO, out of 150, first 50 qty should be applied with 5Rs Disc. and remaining 100 with 10Rs Disc.
Hope you understand the requirement here, let me know so that i can explain you more in case required.
The above request holds good if the single SO with one line item in it. but not if 2 SO thereu2026
your feedback much appreciated, Thank youu2026
Best Regards,
Sid.

Hi,
The Graduated Scale type configuration will not solve this requirement.
It can be handled with a 'Alt Cal type' pricing routine.

• Pricing condition record Scales for width

Hi,
Wanted your expertise, as we are trying to implement scale for a pricing condition as below. Please advise which scale type to be used I think we should use D as interval graduated scale, but my query is my width value stored in material master and once order read it should pick the price as per interval . Need to know when i select type D it should not do graduation in same sales order for other lines. I mean if order has two line item with same material and third line with different material. system should calculate first line price 0.09 and second line should also pick price 0.09 as width is within 0 to 1
third material should price 0.13
please advise how this is posible because i think gradutaion type adds previous line record value, which we don't want.
Mat 1 - 0.7 in
Ma t2 - 0.9 in
Mat 3 - 2.5 in

• Condition types and scale basis

Hi
Can any one tell me for conditions types and scale basis for maintaining condition records
thanx in adv

dear
Scales in nothing but a range of order quantity, according to the pricing element depending upon the range of quantity prices way be increased/decreased, higher discounts, low freight changes can be offered.
Ex: when per one item is 100/- if customer placed the order for
Range price
100/-
95/-
90/-
Check --value:
We can specify the changing rule for scale rates as ascending or descending.
Scale type:
This indicator controls the validity of the scale value or percentage from certain quantities or value up to certain quantity or value, alternatively it is possible to work with internal scales that must be stored in the condition type that is the scale type the interval scale can’t be change in the condition record due to technical reasons ex: condition type PR02 graduated scale.
Scale formula:
We can specify the formula for determining the scale base value; we can provide formula’s that has not been provided in the standard system. Ex: condition type ‘KP003’ to support mixed pallet surcharges can be used
Condition scales:
We can maintain scales for each and every condition type so that we can determine pricing condition value depending upon the range of order quantity.
Ex: If we maintain condition record for PR00 for material one as a Rs.1000/- for one material then we can maintain scale for this material like below.
Quantity Price
0-10 1000.00
11-20 999.00
21-30 998.00
31-40 997.00
Configuration settings:
Go to VK11; maintain condition record for PR00,
Select line item and click on scale icon on the application tool bar &
Maintain scale rates accordingly, save it & exit.
Got to VA01 and raise scales order, validity periods to scale. Check the condition value
rewards if it helps

• Scale pricing Per Each quantity

Hi All,
I have a scenario that I am trying to implement in pricing and I am not sure if scale pricing will work or not. Here is the scenario.
A Customer needs to be charged based on the weight of the material entered PER EACH QUANTITY. The pricing should be as follows
From 0 to 5 pounds --> 50$
From 5.1 to 10 pounds --> 100$
From 10.1 to 20 pounds --> 150$ and
From 20.1 to 50 pounds --> 200$
A material X weighs 7 pounds in the material master. If 3 quantity is entered at the line item for the material X, the total weight is 21 pounds in the sales order. Now the customer should NOT be charged 200$ based on the total weight of the quantity but should be charge as
100$(for 7 pounds for 1st quantity) +
100$ (for 7 pounds for the 2nd quantity) +
100$ (for 7 pounds for the 3rd quantity) = 300$ Total.
The standard scales configuration takes the total weight of the 3 quantity entered for material X (777=21 pounds) and then applies the scale pricing and calculates 200$ instead of 300$.
Any ideas?
Thanks
BSR

Shiva,
Thank for the reply. the graduated scale config was over calculating the value and did not work for this requirement.
However I was able to resolve the issue by creating a new scale base formula. For anyone who is interested below is the solution.
Pricing condition has the following setting
Condition class = A (Discount or surcharge).
Calculation type = C (quantity).
Do Not use fixed amount This is to allow the system to multiply the quantity with the amount calculated based on the scale condition record.
Scale basis = (weight - net or gross what ever is needed per the requirement)
Code for the formula
data lv_ntgew like mara-ntgew.
select ntgew from mara
into lv_ntgew
where matnr = komp-matnr.
endselect.
xkwert = lv_ntgew.
The system calculates the scale base from the material master and then the amount from the condition record is multiplied by the quantity to give the condition value.
Thanks
BSR

• Startup disk on top in Tiger, not in Leopard

Having recently upgraded from Tiger to Leopard, I noticed that the startup disc, which used to be always displayed on top of the others, remains where it was before restart when I decide to switch discs. I found it quite useful, on occasions, to instantly see which disc was the one running the show just by glancing at the desktop.
Before I move on to Snow Leopard, can someone please tell me why that useful feature would have been removed from Leopard or, better still, how to restore it ?
Thank you.

a brody, Thank you for having replied so quickly.
Unfortunately, I do not see a check box for the icon arrangement.
Here is what I did.
In the Finder, there are 8 menus:
Apple -- Finder -- File -- Edit -- View -- Go -- Window -- Help
I clicked on the 5th item, the View menu.
There were 13 choices available :
as Icons
as List
as Columns
as Cover Flow
Clean Up
Arrange By

I opted for the last item, where I was offered the following possibilities :
— A graduated scale to set the icon size
— Another graduated scale for Grid spacing
— A scrollable menu for Text size
— Two radio buttons to set the Label position : either Bottom or Right
— A check box to Show item info (which is empty)
— Another check box to Show icon preview (which contains a check mark)
— And, finally, a scrollable menu that allows to Arrange by:

• Service entry sheet value calculation

Hi All,
I have maintained the following conditions for service.
For condition PRS scale type is maintained as "D"- graduated scale
Condition record maintained for condition type PRS and scales are maintained as follows-
To 10 AU- price is 100rs/-
20 AU- price is 120rs/-
Pricing procedure MS0001 has been maintained.
While creating service PO for 11 qty the system is picking up value correctly as 1120rs/- (till (10100)+(1120)=1120)
But while creating service entry sheet for the same purchase order for 5 qty i am getting the net value as 509.10rs/-
Can anybody able to explain how the system is calculating this price and why it's calculating so?
Thanks in advance
Venkat

It is correct price
you said for qty 11 = 1120
and for 5 = 509.10
the calcaulation is simple math
5*1120/11 = 509.10

• Bad Creative

I have spent alot of money on my sound system sound blaster card and the GIGAWORKS S750 SPEAKERS. I got the speakers on 2-11-07, they went out friday. Thats $538 total with shipping. Talking to a person is a joke. Email with this company is a joke. But they don't mind taking your money.
For those of you that read this do not buy these speakers, Some may work some may not, But $538 is alot for (may not).

If your wife is a member of the State Bar of California, you should show her the hard copy (or the one from Creative's site) of the warranty statement. I'm sure she can explain what your rights are under the terms of the warranty or refer you to someone who is a specialist in Consumer Law. There are very few products where a product being replaced under warranty is renewed for any in it's entirety, and certainly nothing in the consumer electronics sector.
Of course, one should also bear in mind the addage that legal advice received in internet forums are worth exactly what you paid for them. Also, folks in California should check the rate schedule for their respective counties for Small Claims filing fees. A lot of counties have implemented a graduated scale for people who file a lot of small claims cases, where the filing fee may be increased to $00 from $30. The filing fee is also on a graduated scale based upon the amount of the claim, it is not a flat fee for any amount.
ForceRecon wrote:
Well, What pisses me off about Creative is when they replace your burned out speakers they should extend your warranty to one full year again, But they don't. I have talked with my wife who is A Attorney for the state of California. And if they go out again I will take Creative to small claims to get my money back and the shipping cost back also. It only cost about $35 to take them to small claims. I have printed out all of the complaints on these Forums, having to do with the S750's. And if I was you I would do the same.
Small Claims is a great way to get your money back on these matters. And you can not bring in a lawyer?(Either side). Just show the court all the complaints on this forum, Thats all you need.

• Rebate agreement scales

Hi,
We in our company has implemented rebate agreements. We have monthly offtake rebate as one of the rebate agreement type. The scales are as
0-50 nil
51-100 Rs. 375/MT
101-200 Rs.425/MT
201-500 Rs. 500/MT
> 500 Rs. 600/MT
Total billed qty for a month is 250 MT.
Currently it is calculating as 250MT*Rs.500 = Rs. 125000 as the rebate amount.
But the system should calculate as below
first 50MT - 50MT*0 = 0
second 50MT 50*375 = 18750
for 100 MT 100*425 =42500
last 50 MT 50*500 = 25000
total rebate amount = Rs.86250
I tried with scale type D - graduated to-interval but it is not accepting this scale type.
Please help me to solve this problem.

Hi,
Scales are ignored when calculating accruals, but will be calculated at rebate settlement.
You can check the manual on rebate set up and management that rithvika posted in another thread:

• Scale type D for group conditions

Hi all,
I am creating a new group condition and am trying to make it scale type D - graduated-to-interval scale. However because this is a group condition, SAP is giving me an error (Scale type 'D' cannot be used for group condition 'X').
What is the best solution to this?
I would like to give discounts based on:
Sales quantity:
1-100 = 15% off
101-200 = 25%
201-300 = 35%
301-400 = 45%

Hello
This is b'coz your condition type with active Group condition Indicator. That means, here the system calculates the basis for the scale value from more than one item in the document.
So, the scale D maintain in Scale basis for those condition type, does not go with it and throws an Error.
Thus, if you want to scale functionality for condition type with group condition indicators use GrpCond.routine to maintain routine.
Routine number for creating group key identifies a routine that calculates the basis for the scale value when a group condition occurs in pricing.
For instance.
Check routine 3-Mat.Pricing Group. This is an example of a structure of group key formula. A structure of group key formula can be used to influence the basis the system uses when reading the scale of a group condition. The formula is assigned to a group condition type in customizing.
Formula '3' adds up the quantities / values of all of the line items in the sales document that have the same material pricing group (field KONDM) as the current sales document line item.
A company defines a particular discount (condition type Z001) with scales based on weight. When a sales order line item is priced that is eligible for the Z001 discount, the user would like the system to read the scale with not just the weight of the current line item, but the combined weight of all items in the sales document that have the same material pricing group as the current line item. To accomplish this, the user defines condition type Z001 as a group condition and assigns structure of group key formula '3' to it in customizing.
I hope this assist you.
Thanks & Regards

• Rebate Scale

Dear Experts,
Good Morning.
I wish to know and help me how it will be set up using the rebate scale with the following condtion or formula:
0 - 9 EA - customer will get 0% rebate/Accural
10- 20 EA - customer will get 2% rebate/Accural
21- 30 EA - customer will get 3% rebate/Accural
Condition base Value = 10,000 SGD
I have tried Usingthe quantity Scale, it gave me a reabte of 3% which is equivalent of 300 SGD
Business Case is:
If Customer will purchase 30 EA, I want that the calculation be:
for the first 20 EA customer should get a reabte amount of = 200 SGD
next 21 -30 EA customer should get a reabte amount of = 300 SGD
This will give the customer a total of 500 SGD rebate, instead of having 300 SGD.
Thank you very much in advance for your help
Respectfully yours,
