Grand Total Level in OBIEE 11g

Hi ,
I had a report with product name , order number , order quantity , order amount as columns .
Now i want add a new column at the bottom level as grand total for ordered amount.
Can some one please tell me how to do that ,,,I am in hurry
Thank you

Hi,
If you already had the aggregation rule of the ordered amount as sum, then in the table, you can enable row level summation. In the table editor, just on top of the rows section, there is a summation icon that you can click on and set the option as 'after'.
If you have already tried this thing and if it does not work then you may want to try the narrative view option. Here are steps for it.
1. Create a new column.
2. Change the function as RSUM(order quantity).
3. In the narrative view use this column as @5 (I think you already have 4 columns and hence this might be 5th column)
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Dhar

  • What is the use of Grand total level in obiee ,

    hi ,
    i know that we can perform drill down from one level to another level, level base measures ,aggregate atble.................
    apart from that any other user if so pls give me one small example
    What is the use of Grand total level in obiee

    When you start to use multi-star models and none-conforming dimensions, you will use the grand total level to tell the BI Server what to do with the measures when you try and plot them all in the same answers request.
    Also consider any meaure you want to perform a '% of total' you will need the total mapped somewhere, this could use the Grand total level as a level based measure.

  • Grand Total level Discrepency

    Hi,
    I have a Pivot table view which has three measures namely Net Units, Budget Net Units, Achvd% along with channel and Account at row level.
    Here Achvd% is a calcualted column with Achvd% = (Net Units - Budget Net Units)/Budget Net Units.
    At my Grand Total level also the same Formula should apply for Total Achvd% i.e., (Total Net Units - Total Budget Net Units)/Total Budget Net Units.
    Currently it is displaying the Aggregation Level for this column as Sum.
    In the Aggregation Level Setting for any column, we have Default, Sum, Average,Min, Max,... So can this customization for this column be done at Grand Total Level.
    Can you please provide valuable inputs
    Thanks

    Saichand,
    I tried as you suggested, it is working on a single request... But if we have a result set of two combined requests(union) then this option is not helpful.
    Can you suggest how to take this up while using combined requests
    Thanks,

  • Percentage calculation at Grand Total Level

    Hello,
    I have issue in calculating the percentage at grand total level. I have three measures (A count, B count and Total count). These measures are defined in rpd with aggregation rule as sum. In answers i am calculating A % as 100*A count/Total Count. I have defined the aggregation rule for this percentage column as default. I am able to get correct % results for sub total level but getting wrong percentage values when Grand Total level is added. Going through some posts in this forum, people have suggested to enable this tag in instance config file.
    <ReportAggregateEnabled>true</ReportAggregateEnabled>
    After adding this tag, i am able to get correct results. The issue is when there is no data i am able to see table view with all columns having blank values even though i have defined the no result view.
    Please Help

    HI,
    For your CKF set exception aggregation as summation based on the last most characteristic in the row in the reference(as per the example it is product)

  • Grand total level of the percentage column giving value from the first row of column

    Hi Guys,
    I have a requirement like to show the percentage value which the calculation of two columns , in the grand total level .
    I think it can be achievaable by giving the aggregation rule for that column as Server complex Aggregate .
    eg.
    Fiscal Year  Department  subdepartment   Total cost     Sub Department cost     % cost
    2011           Edu             Books                 500              50                               10
    2011           Edu             Note Book           200            100                                50
    2011           Edu             Furniture             300             30                                 10
    2011            Edu                                      1000           180                              18
    Grand Total
    Ideally it should come like as above ..but the problem with me that ,it showing correct value for  all the rows ,but at the grand total level it's taking the value of % cost from the first row . like below..
    2011           Edu                                   1000                  180                         10
    Grand Total
    I have calculated the % cost column in the answer itself  as (Sub Department cost /Total Cost )
    where the
    Aggregation rule for the columns given are
    Total Cost - Sum  ,Sub Dep Cost -  Sum, % Cost - Server Complex Aggregate
    So plz suggest me any Idea to achieve this ..Thanks in advance.

    Give the agg. as avg for % field.

  • Can we have Slider at dashboard level? - OBIEE 11g

    Hi All,
    We are working on OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.3.0), we have one requirement where we want to have dashboard level slider i.e. slider controlling all the graphs on dashboards.
    Currently we have around 9 charts in dashboard and all of them have their individual slider (section) for customer. We wan to put this slider at dashboard level. Is there any way we can do it in OBIEE 11g? or any workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Uttam

    Hi uttam,
    Sliders are only enabled in charts.But not for whole dashboard its not possible.

    I use OBIEE 11.1.1.3 , and for the deductions I use formula column (case when deductions then value*-1).
    Is this bugs in Obiee 11.1.1.3?so the grand total show the wrong value?

  • Does ago function works at day level in obiee 11g

    Hi,
    I want to know does AGO function works well at day level in Obiee 11.1.1.6 .
    Edited by: user12635494 on May 8, 2012 2:58 AM

    Yes, it will work. Just double click the Time level (say year/month/week), mark it as a chronological key (on keys tab). Use that in your AGO function

  • Condtional formatting on Grand Total in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.7

    Hi,
    We have upgraded a report from 10g to 11g and the report has pivot table which has conditional formatting set on the Grand Total level and is resulting in the following error in OBIEE11g.
    “DXE compiler error. No table 'GTGT' found in DXE. Source name: DxeAPI. XML: None”
    XML Snippet in 10g:
    <saw:condition>
    <sawx:expr xsi:type="sawx:comparison" op="notNull">
    <saw:columnRef columnID="xx"/></sawx:expr>
    <saw:displayFormat fontColor="#FFFFFF" wrapText="true"/>
      </saw:condition>
    Equivalent XML Snippet in 11g:
    <saw:conditionalDisplayFormat>
    <saw:formatRule>
    <saw:condition>
    <sawx:expr xsi:type="sawx:comparison" op="notNull">
    <saw:columnRef columnID="xx"/></sawx:expr></saw:condition>
    <saw:formatSpec fontColor="#FFFFFF" wrapText="true"/></saw:formatRule></saw:conditionalDisplayFormat>
    Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

    Hi User,
    This report is corrupted. You can rebuild or re copy the xml from 10g to 11g and see if it works.

  • OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.7 NON Confirmed dimensions and facts

    Hi All,
    In OBIEE 10g if we had non-conformed dimensions we used to work with by defining logical level of the conformed dimensions to grand total and confirmed dimensions to detail in the LTS of the fact table
    and also set metrics to grand total level.
    But in OBIEE 11g doing same is throwing error
    [nQSError: 14025] No fact table exists at the requested level of detail
    How do we achieve this?
    Regards,
    deep

    You need to create a complex join with non conformed dimension and the fact with 1=1 and set the logical level of the measure to total for a non conformed dimension.
    You can refer: https://s3.amazonaws.com/rmc_docs/biforum2011/Mcquigg_Metadata.pdf

  • Modelling 2 Fact Tables with Non-Conforming Dimension in OBIEE 11g

    Hi all,
    I have two fact tables (Fact 1 and Fact 2) and two dimension tables (Product and Rule). The Product dimension table is a conforming dimension and is used in both fact tables, but the Rule dimension is a non-conforming dimension which is used only one fact table. I'm using OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6.0).
    ====
    Fact 1
    ====
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status
    S001 | P001 | 100 | bla bla bla bla bla | N
    S001 | P002 | 200 | bla bla bla bla bla | N
    S002 | P001 | 200 | lab lab lab lab lab | Y
    S002 | P003 | 250 | lab lab lab lab lab | Y
    Notes for Fact 1:
    - One Sales ID can have multiple Product IDs
    - Sales Description and Sales Status are the same for one Sales ID (repeating Sales Description and Sales Status for the same Sales ID)
    ====
    Fact 2
    ====
    Sales ID | Product ID | Rule ID | Score
    S001 | P001 | R001 | 2
    S001 | P001 | R002 | 3
    S001 | P002 | R003 | 1
    S002 | P001 | R003 | 1
    S002 | P003 | R002 | 2
    S002 | P003 | R004 | 5
    Notes for Fact 2:
    - One combination of Sales ID and Product ID can have multiple Rule ID
    I'm wondering how best to model these tables so that I can create this report (number of the dimension and fact tables created in the business model, level mapping, aggregation rule, etc)? Any suggestion/advice on how to achieve this?
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status | Rule ID | Score
    S001 | P001 | 100 | bla bla bla bla bla | N | R001 | 2
    S001 | P001 | 100 | bla bla bla bla bla | N | R002 | 3
    S001 | P002 | 200 | bla bla bla bla bla | N | R003 | 1
    S002 | P001 | 200 | lab lab lab lab lab | Y | R003 | 1
    S002 | P003 | 250 | lab lab lab lab lab | Y | R002 | 2
    S002 | P003 | 250 | lab lab lab lab lab | Y | R004 | 5
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Dhar, thanks for the suggestions.
    I tested what you suggested, but the result is not as per my expectation mentioned above. Here's what I did:
    1. In physical layer:
    - I joined Fact 1 table with Product dimension table only
    - I joined Fact 2 table with Product and Rule dimension tables
    2. In business model layer:
    - I created 3 logical tables: Fact, Product, and Rule
    - The Product table contains the Product ID and Product Name from the Product dimension table in the physical layer
    - I created the hierarchy (logical dimension) for Product with only ProductTotal level (as the grand total level) and ProductDetail level that contains Product ID and Product Name
    - The Rule table contains the Rule ID and Rule Name from the Rule dimension table in the physical layer
    - I created the hierarchy (logical dimension) for Rule with only RuleTotal level (as the grand total level) and RuleDetail level that contains Rule ID and Rule Name
    - The Fact table contains 2 logical tables sources: Fact 1 (which logical level in the Content tab is mapped to ProductDetail and RuleTotal) and Fact 2 (which logical level in the Content tab is mapped to ProductDetail and RuleDetail)
    - The Fact table contains Sales ID logical column (mapped to both Fact 1 and Fact 2 logical table sources)
    - The Fact table also contains Sales Description and Sales Status logical columns (mapped to only Fact 1), which aggregation rule is the default to None
    - The Fact table also contains Quantity logical column (mapped to only Fact 1), which aggregation rule is set to Sum
    - The Fact table also contains Score logical column (mapped to only Fact 2), which aggregation rule is set to Sum
    OBIEE returns the expected result when I retrieve the report:
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status
    However, OBIEE returns an error when I retrieve the reports:
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status | Rule ID
    or
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status | Rule ID | Score
    The error is:
    Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 14020] None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request FACT.SALES_STATUS. (HY000)
    And the Score column is blank when I retrieved this report:
    Sales ID | Product ID | Quantity | Sales Description | Sales Status | Score
    Any suggestion anyone? Please help. Thanks a lot!

  • Multiple hierarchies with a shared higher level in OBIEE

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to create multiple hierarchies for a shared dimension in OBIEE. I have gotten these to work in the past when each hierarchy for the dimension all shares the common “grand total” level at the top, but I now I'd like multiple hierarchies that share a common higher level that isn't the grand total level.
    Here's what I'm trying to do with a Customer Geography hierarchy. I want to give the user the option to drill from the customer "Country" and go either into "Cities" or "States":
    Grand Total level
    --->Country level
    ------> State level
    ---------> Customer detail level
    ------> City level
    ---------> Customer detail level
    So "Country" is the common parent of "State" and "City", and "State" and "City" each have" Customer detail" as the lowest level. The Admin Tool let's me build exactly this in my RPD (with no errors/warnings), but when I go to drill on Country in an Answers report, I don't get the option to navigate down to State or City; it just automatically drills into the underlying states -- never shows cities.
    I guess I was hoping there'd be a pop up option to ask the user which path I wanted to drill down on (kind of like what shows up for multiple navigation targets in an Answers request).
    Am I missing a setup step in my RPD for this multiple hierarchy? Is a shared higher level multiple hierarchy even possible in OBIEE?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Thanks mma for the help. I thought I saw in your reply this link as well to RittmanMead, but it's not showing up now?
    http://www.rittmanmead.com/files/Advanced%20Development%20using%20OBIEE%20(ODTUG%202008).pdf
    Anyway, on slide 37 of Rittman's presentation, that screen shot he has of Country, City, and State is exactly what I am attempting to do. I was hoping my issue would be a bit more straightforward than the recommended ragged hierarchy work arounds, but I may still have to do something like that in the end.
    This issue just seems more simple than ragged hierarchies, because I start from the same level and end up back at the exact same level (instead of different destination levels as can be the case in ragged hierarchies). I don't know -- maybe my example is ragged as well.
    If Rittman got that hierarchy in his screen shot on slide 37 to work like I'm trying to, then that would be perfect. :)

  • Presentation Hierarchy Grand Total Values

    Hi,
    We have the following scenario,
    Hierarchy Product A is created for Dimension Product A
    Hierarchy Product B is created for Dimention Product B
    Fact Product Measures is joined to Store Dimension , Dimension Product A, Dimention Product B and Fiscal Calendar
    Dimension Product A contains subset of Products that are existing at Fact
    Dimention Product B contains subset of Products that are existing at Fact
    and some products can exists both at Dimension Product A and Dimension Product B
    The issue we are facing is, when ever report is created using One of the Product Hierarchy and Fact. Product Sales (default aggregation is sum),
    the grand total level is showing sum of all Product Sales. It is not limiting to Products that are in Product Hierarchy selected in the report.
    But the sub levels are limiting based on selected Product Hierarchy which is causing not matching the roll up amount to grand total.
    Is it possible to limit the grand total level value of Presentation Hierarchy based on selected Product Hierarchy.
    Does anyone face similar issue.
    Thanks in Advance

    is your summary and detail reports hitting different facts, like summary hitting aggregate and detail report hitting it's corresponding detail level fact..?
    if then,
    From Front-end:
    Fix the filter values in detail report that are passing from master report then try delete each columns then check the grand total. If you found your values is matching by deleting particular column then you need to investigate what is the issue around with that dimension table..
    From Database side:
    1. check first aggregate table has proper aggregate data of it's detail..
    2. Take the detail report obiee generated query and try to comment each dimension table and it's corresponding joins to the facts, (before, this delete all the dimensional columns and other measures from select statement and put only that measure where you are getting wrong value, so that you need not to comment all the select and group by columns which saves your time.. ). Need to check by commenting each dimensional wid and it's table from clause, if you found that values is matching then there is some problem with wid columns data population in your ETL.
    Is that BI-Apps project?
    btw, whtz ur name?

    Hi,
    Its known bug and it can be done by below methods,
    Method1:
    If you enabled loglevel for each users wise it may be override with below place also can you confirm both places.
    enabled Tools-->Options-->Repository-->
    System log level by default will be 0 just try to increase to 2 or 3 and save it.
    Method1:
    by each report wise enabling loglevel
    try putting the below syntax in prefix section of advanced tab.
    SET VARIABLE LOGLEVEL=2,DISABLE_CACHE_HIT=1;
    It should generate the log with database sql as well.
    Method 3:
    Create Session variable(LOGLEVEL) with initblock
    in your init block --> datasource place put it like below query
    select 3 from IW_POSITION
    Note:just point any existing physical table from u r RPD.
    Then try to save it and test it.

    Please give me a solution for this ASAP.
    view of my table is

    00||01||01||100%
    10||05||-05||-50%
