"Grapher.app" not fuctioning correctly?

Well, I'm a big fan of Grapher because it really helps me visualizing 3D-surfaces while I'm solving multivariable calculus problems...
The things is, in leopard, this app does not seem to work correctly.
The graph is drawn with no problem, but when I right click on the equation list located at the left-side of the window, nothing bappens.
Then, when I left click on the equation field again, the menu appears briefly (like, if flashes) and disappears.
I think this did not happen in Tiger. Can anyone confirm this error?

Unfortunately this is not the only problem that Grapher got in Leopard.
I'm going to fill a bug-report on https://bugreport.apple.com/
And I strongly encourage you to do the same. Complain against everything that does not work and is reproducible. Because if noone complains, then there will be no fixes.

Java apps not displaying correctly

Hi.
I'm having a problem with Java apps, as they seem to simply not display correctly. They are supposed to be Aqua, but it doesn't exactly work, since the actual controls don't appear, but besides that the program seems to carry out what it's supposed to (besides not displaying it correctly.)
I tried removing some Java-related setting files and stuff, but it still doesn't exactly work as it should.

The problem isn't with the Window Manager you use, but the java runtime you have installed. If you have openjdk6 installed, try removing it and install jre and jdk instead. If you have jre and jdk installed, install openjdk6 and see what happens.
I think you're using openjdk6, since I remember hearing problems using it and topcoder.

Map app not displaying correctly

I recently downloaded the most recent os 8.1.3 on my iphone 4s. Now the map app (apple default) doesn't display correctly. I only see the grid and my location dot in standard view, no street names or lines, no details whatsoever. This is affecting any app that uses the apple default (Zillow, trulia, etc). My husband has the exact same iphone 4s and he has the most current os and his map app works fine. I'm thinking that I should try to reload the most current os but since it is the most current, there doesn't seem to be an obvious way since all message are "you have the most current version". I could also try to download just the most recent version of the map app but since it is a default, I don't know how. Any suggestions?

If you are having issues with your Maps application not displaying correctly, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Sharepoint Apps not running Correctly

Hi all,
Im having some difficult with sharepoint apps, on Sharepoint 2013, running under Server 2012/IIS8
I have gone ahead and created the necessary DNS zone, and also the appropriate Service and App application pools, as per the MSDN document.
The apps are downloading correctly, and I can add them to my site. Upon opening them (all), I am prompted for credentials as normal, but when the app opens up, it isn't functioning properly.
In particular, only part of the page displays. The sharepoint icon on the top left displays the broken link icon, and while I can click on some of the app functions, there are no text boxes, and I cannot save or run anything from the app menu. Suspecting
the issue was with IIS, I checked the http logs, and i am seeing several HTTP error codes, in particular several 500 0 0 15 when requesting a page called allsitecontent.aspx from within the app.
I have checked out the application pool sharepoint is running in under IIS, and everything seems to be set to default.
Does anybody have any ideas or insight as to what might be causing this?

I am also having an issue with apps displaying correctly I have configured sharepoint foundation with a separated AD contorler running on a different server. I can get the app to appear but the page does not render correctly. (Master page not showing with
app). Any ideas any one???

Exercise Details added via Windows 8.1 App not showing correctly in the HealthVault

Ah. The Windows 8.1 app you're using is the Bing Health & Fitness app, not the HealthVault for Windows app. That clears things up.
Unfortunately the unsatisfying answer I have for you is that there is a known issue that Bing's app stores exercises in a way that HealthVault can't properly display. The Bing app team is aware of the bug and working on a fix.
I wish I had a better answer for you.

Youtube app not buffering correctly

Is any one else having problems with the Youtube app not buffering properly.
mine will only buffer up to 45-55 seconds then it just stops.

I generally have the same issue with my iPad when using the YouTube app. The odd thing is that I can watch a Netflix video and not experience the same problem. Netflix locks up on me occasionally, and throws me back to the Home screen, but I have all but given up on YouTube.
In case this applies to others with similar issues, I seem to have "slow" wireless with the iPad at home, but have not experienced any connection drops--thankfully. I have a newly refurbished Airport Extreme on RoadRunner. I haven't taken the iPad out any field trips yet as I was terrified I would be the idiot to drop it on the floor at Panera. "And tonight on the News at Nine, a local a woman commits sucide with a plastic knife after dropping her iPad at a downtown cafe; we hope to bring you video at 11:00, so please tune in for the latest on this tragic story."

Playbook - apps not loading correctly and icons not on desktop

I have a new Playbook 32GB with OS 2.1.0.1526.
I have had hassled with Wi-Fi not connecting (now fixed) and apps not downloading (needed to advance date to 2014 and reboot).
Now the few apps I have tried to download are listed in the "MyWorld" as installed but not on the desktop.
Where are they?! How can I use them?
Help very much appreciated. The "out-of-the-box" experience lacking at present!

Music and apps not syncing correctly after updating to iOS 6.1.2

Most of my songs are skipping at random points and some aren't playing at all, and only 2 or 3 play correctly. Also, my apps aren't syncing at all and iTunes keeps saying that they failed to install. Some of the songs skip on iTunes, however most work fine, but it usually only gets really bad when I sync it to the iPod. I've tried removing all the songs from my ipod and re-syncing them about 6 times and i've re-installed iTunes twice, i've also tried restoring my iPod, but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've been trying to fix it for almost a week, and it's only happened since updating to iOS 6.1.2. This has never happened before that.

What happens when you try?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Health App not showing correct steps

Hi,
I have two health apps installed on my 5S, Argus and Myfitnesspal. Both of them and the Health app have been counting steps successfully and all agreed with each other.
For the last week the Health app has been showing far less steps (and Walking + Running Distance) than the other two and less than I have really walked. For instance today I have walked 2.9 km to work, walked at lunchtime and on my home yet the Health app is showing only 1,760 steps (1.27km) while the other apps are showing over 10,400 steps, which I believe to be accurate.
As far as I'm aware I haven't changed any settings, has anyone any suggestions please?

I take it you have already gone into the Health app and set up your Medical ID card, correct?
The Medical ID card will show up on the Lock Screen password entry screen when Emergency option on the bottom left-hand side of the screen is clicked.
It does not show up anywhere if you do not have a passcode lock on the screen.

Reminder app not working correctly, issue started around Sept. 1,2014. Will not allow me to set date and time for a reminder.

Today I noticed an issue with my Reminder app on my IPhone 5s. Using OS 7.1.2. I called Apple, and the tech didn't know what he was doing and just trying different things.The reminder app will not let me set a date and time for reminder. Finally he escalated the call to a senior advisor who was rude, arrogant and unprofessional. He insisted the Reminder App was updated with the new update of IOS September/October 2013. Not true, the issue just started about 5 days ago August 31,2014. Now there is an additional reminder line for reminder entries that I have to use and have to transfer all my reminders manually from the other part of the app. The feature does exist; if I try to set a date and time for the reminder it appears for 1-2 seconds and then disappears.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Yes, it is true.
iOS 7 was released 18 Sep 2013. At this time, the Reminders app was updated (with most everything else).

I don’t understand what this means...
Open Reminders, type the reminder, tap the i at the end, turn on Remind me on a day and enter the date/time.

CC desktop app not showing correct install status for Photoshop

I have Photoshop CC, Bridge CC and Lightroom installed but the desktop app shows Photoshop is not installed.
Photoshop runs without problems via a shortcut on the desktop.
The Home tab shows Photoshop CC was installed.
The Apps tab doesn't show it - but implies that I can install it ...
If I click on install, then I get an error ... probably because it is already installed.

IPad Video app not sorting correctly

Long time reader, first time poster - but I cannot seem to find a resolution to my issue, I fail to see how this issue could go unresolved for as long as I have had it;
The iPad video App when streaming from a home shared iTunes account does not sort TV shows as per the TV Show / Season / Episode attributes in the metadata. Is there a fix for this other than re-entering the metadata to the Artist attribute - I have a moderately sized library and this would consume my attention for far too long, not to mention its double handling!!!
Surely the introduction of a sort function on iOS devices and Apple TV is not too much to expect.

Actually there is a fix, that I found from another thread. Plug in yor device to the computer as it's faster. Un synch all your music from the iPad, which will remove it from the Pad. When that's done, turn the music synch back on, putting your tunes back on the device.
The music library is corrupted and this will fix that. A regular synch will not work.

Apps not syncing correctly

My iPad's home button stopped working, so I synched my iPad and brought it to the apple store, where they erased it and gave me a new one. When I brought it back and restored it as my iPad, it had updated to ios 6 even though I told it not to, and it only had three of my apps. My mom thinks that I might have removed the iPad before it was done synching. When I go into itunes, at first it shows all the apps I had before when I click on my ipad and then apps, but as soon as I click sync apps, it changes it to the homescreen and apps I have now. I've seen similar questions but they were on a different version of iTunes, so the stuff they said didn't work. Also, I know I can just re-download the apps, but I had many apps and a lot of apps I downloaded and deleted that I don't want to go through and find the ones I actually want. Is there any way to get my apps back?

Puchases apps not syncing correctly on ipad

I reinstalled the iOS software today on my ipad2 3G and configured as a new device as I did not want any restoration from preVious backups. When I synced my apps, all went in but any purchases that I had done from wi thin the apps did not. As an example, I had purchased add ons for talking Tom 2 from inside the app. Those add ons did not come in. Similar stuff happened with a couple of other apps. Any ideas as to what is happening and what can I do?

Those things are contained in the iPad backup so if you do not restore from the backup, as far as I know - you will lose those items.

Notes app not opening correctly

Notes in Mountain Lion..When I open the new Notes app in iCloud the appearance of the app is not the
3-paned window as described in all of the articles I have read...it does not have a pane showing the accounts..how do I get that to display ?
I want to take advantage of the new "folders" feature in the Notes app, but have no way to do so..
Also Notes that I change or delete on iCloud are not syncing to the iPhone or iPad ..and since there is no way to sync among the 3 devices now
thru iTunes is there something in settings that needs to be changed ?
