Graphic Card Upgrade for HP-Pavilion dv6t-7000

Hello. I have the HP Pavlilion dv6t-7000 with the NVIDIA GT650M 1GB grpahics card. Now because of my work, i need to extends my graphic card memory. So I want to ask if my laptop is possible to upgrade to GT650M 2GB card.
My product number is A5F74AV. And my wannary is end on 8/24/2013.
And this laptop is a gift of my aunt from USA, and I'm living in Viet Nam now. So if yes, can HP Vietnam do the upgrade for me? My aunt's family is very busy so I can't resend my laptop and ask them to return to you.
Thank you very much!

Hi:
The only way to upgrade the video card in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard which would cost as much as buying a new notebook with better graphics.
If you had HP do the upgrade, it would probably cost more than buying 2 notebooks with better graphics than yours.

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion a1020n Desktop Computer and it's PTGD-LA (Goldfish3) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer has no dedicated graphics card expansion slot. The only expansion slots available on this system are three traditional and/or conventional PCI slots. One of these slots currently contains a K56flex modem.
Here is a selection of PCI graphics cards that may meet your requirements. Please note that these cards may also require you to upgrade your power supply as well.

  • Need a Recovery CD for HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, want to purchase the cd from south america

    Hi there:
I accidentally deleted all partitions from my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 hard disk, I need the recovery disk, where can I purchase and download it?

If you know someone in the USA... order the discs or have them order the discs and send to their address. Once they receive the discs, have them mail the disc set to you in Venezuela.
Alternatively, if you can still read the 25-digit Windows product key on the Microsoft COA affixed to the bottom the computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" for instructions on how to download Windows 7, create the installation media, and install Windows 7 using the 25-digit product key from the Microsoft COA on your computer. Using this method will not install any HP customizations or value-added software and you will have to manually install all needed drivers.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • No service available for HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 in India

I bought a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 in the US. On an exchange program, I came to India and within two days, the notebook developed a defect. I am not asking for the solution to the defect, all I want to know is whom to contact for my notebook. The service centre in India washed its hands off my product by saying that it is not supported in India. Now I have important work lined up and I have nowhere to go.

I have forwarded your post to the right people for their review. You should hear back from someone shortly via Private Message on this forum.

  • Video Card upgrade for HP Pavilion HPE h8-1256s Desktop

I wanted to upgrade my current graphics card which was an NVIDIA GeForce GT 620, the mother board is a H-Joshua-H61-uATX. I recently bought an EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti Superclock. I unistalled the old drivers took out the old card, added the new one and when I started up my PC i would recive 3 beeps and a black screen. I did some research and found out that it may be due to the BIOS. There is no BIOS upgrade I can find and my BIOS vers is AMI 7.11, 4/28/2012. I would appreciate a list or a recommendation of compatable Video cards so I do not have to keep buying and installing these devices or if there is a new BIOS update.

    Hi,
The EVGA 750 will not work with a version 7 BIOS.  Look under Windows 8 for BIOS version 8.19.

  • Power Supply and Graphics Card Question for HP Pavilion a6432p

    Hello!
I have the HP Pavilion a6342p, and I'm wanting to install an NVIDIA Graphics Card either 512MB or 1GB. However, I'm not sure what is the power supply to this model (most graphics cards are saying 300-350W supply required).
Can anyone tell me what is the power supply to this model, and what would be a good graphics card model to look at to upgrade my graphics card to with this model? I believe the expansion slots are PCI-Express, but I'm not sure on the power supply so I can get the right graphics card.
    Thanks!
    Nathan

[edit] err, the 9100 is an integrated video chipset.  Are you sure that's the correct number?
No the 9100 is not just an integrated video chipset and is available in both AGP & PCI form.
The Antec is a good PSU but I would recommend getting something better such as the OCZ or Enermax as they have a higher +12v rail amp.

  • Processor and graphics card upgrade for hp dc5100 MT(EF633US)

Can someone kindly tell me a variety of Intel processors and graphic cards which i can install in my pc coz right now i'm using Intel pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz and Intel 82915G/GV/910GL express chipset. but i would like to upgrade to a faster processor and a graphics card which can play games which require large graphic memory (eg FIFA 2013,GTA 5.etc)

    Hi:
Personally, I wouldn't invest the money to upgrade that PC.
You would be better off getting an off lease newer dc5800 MT or dc7800/dc7900 model that has a PCIe x16 video slot.
The killer for your model is you can only install a PCI graphics card.
Very inefficient and pretty expensive for what you get in return.
After you install the required microcode update, the best processor I know for sure you can install would be the P4 650.
Below is the link to the quickspecs.  The supported processors are listed on page 7.
I do not know of anyone who that has installed the 651 or 661 processors and got them to work--even though the specs state they are supported.
You can try the 651 or 661 and if you do, please let me know if they worked for you.

  • Processor and Graphics Card Upgrade For HP ProBook 4445s

    Hey guys,
I wanted to ask that  I have a HP4445s with the A6 4400m processor and don't find it enough to play games.
The processor is a little bit slow and the graphics are kind of horrible for a gamer.
I feel like upgrading to a new processor.
The one that  I found nice is the
    AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor
I just wanted to ask whether I could upgrade to this.
I also wanted to find out that it says that there are no integrated graphics, so does that mean I will have to purchase a new graphic card?
    Thanks,
    Please reply!

That is a desktop processor and will not fit in any laptop. Right now some of the HP Support pages are down but I believe you can install an A10 AMD CPU which would improve the graphics just a little. There is no graphics "card" as you might be thinking of. It is a flat motherboard inside the laptop case with all the chips including video soldered on that board. The video comes from within the processor working with helping chips on the motherboard. An A10 processor provides slightly better graphics but nothing that will increase the gaming potential very much. That is a business laptop for doing Powerpoints and Spreadsheets and maybe watching a youtube video or playing a DVD. It is not a gamer. HP now makes the Omen laptop at about $1500 which would handle most high end games.

  • Graphics card upgrade for HP G71-340US

Hello, I have a HP G71-340US running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a Intel GMA4500MHD. I know that this graphic card has a very low performance rate, so is there any alternate graphics available for me to purchase to put it in this system. With the discrete card, I will be able to multitask without any gridlocks. Thank you very much.

I would think it is wise to purchase a new laptop. My parent owns a G71-340us and the model is pretty old. HP will charge a lot of money just to replace the motherboard. You could spend a little more money for a new laptop with better specification. Plus, count the time and money that they have to dismantle the system, take all the parts out, and reinsert it again. If you still want to look for the part, there is a link for parts in the HP website. http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=VM114UA

  • Video Card Upgrade for HP Pavilion Dv7 2040us

HI My Dv7 2040us has an ATI Radeon 4650 video card. I want to run some new games and I need at least 4860 to run them. I was looking around and it seems I need to get a new card and install it directly to my motherboard. This is all do able for me I just need to know which new card would be compatible with my model of notebook. If anyone knows which one or where I can begin to look for one I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks!
    This question was solved.

    Hi:
The only way you can upgrade the video in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard with one that has a better video solution.
However, when you look at chapter 3 of the service manual at the link below, you are already at the top of the mark regarding what video chip is on the available motherboards.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01689926.pdf
So, you will either have to live with the status quo or buy a new notebook.

  • Which graphic card upgrade for Mac Pro2,1?

    I just bought a Mac Pro2,1 2x3.0 GHz Quad-core with NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT: HP LP3065 - 30" display 2560x1600, where everything is a bit too small.
If I change the resolution at all, even the first choice 2048x1536, everything gets bigger as desired, but a bit fuzzy.
Will a better card allow me to have different resolutions and stay crisp as when at 2560x1600?
I'm not a gamer, filmmaker or doing any rendering or even watching movies. I just want things bigger. I'm a web and graphics designer (72 dpi) and need clarity and crispness.
Apple recommended either the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB or the 8600. But they could tell me if it would solve my issue/needs.
Can anyone recommend one/some. I will spend $400+ or if essential more.
    Thanks,
    Steven

For almost all monitors the maximum resolution is also the "native" resolution. If you use anything besides the "native" resolution your display will look fuzzy or slightly out of focus. This is because the monitor is designed with a certain amount of pixels and when you decrease the resolution (make things look bigger) you're forcing your monitor to artificially make pixels bigger so that fewer pixels fill the entire screen. If the number of pixels isn't even and it can't divide them properly it looks fuzzy. For example, if you can set the resolution to exactly half of the native resolution it won't look nearly as bad. However, setting your 30" monitor to 1280x800 (half of 2560x1600) is going to look HUGE and it would be a big waste of all that screen real estate.
Unlike TV's (where the resolution is basically the same for all sizes) you don't buy a bigger monitor to make things look bigger, you buy a bigger monitor to fit more things on the screen. For some, the unfortunate side effect of this is that things appear "smaller." This happens when the number of pixels increases more than the physical size of the monitor increases. When this happens there are more pixels in a given space, thus the pixels are actually smaller. This is usually desired because a monitor with more pixel density (smaller pixels) will produce sharper looking images.
The fuzziness you described is going to be apparent on all monitors, it's just more noticeable on monitors with higher native resolutions. If you go back to the apple store and look at the 24" you'll see it now that you're looking for it .
It's not a great solution, but you can increase the font size in most programs in the preferences menu, or you can turn on the zoom feature in the Universal Access section of System Preferences.
