GRC AChow to operate the scheduler (Daemon manager )  with a WebDispatcher?

Hi all,
A technical question:
We access the application via a Web dispatcher (hc001wck: 80) which leads us either to AS Java hc001wdm: 52000 or to the Java AS hc001wdn: 52100.$
Everything works well for the Java "transaction" but the backgroundjobs fail to communicate with the Daemon manager (scheduler). The Daemon seems to work very well (ok status on each server and bgstatus ok when the call via WebDisp).
The settings are made via SQL update in the table virsa_cc_config; following configuration
105
0
http
J2EE Engine Protocol
106
0
80
J2EE Engine Port
107
0
http://hc001wck.siege.intra.groupe-XXXXX.fr/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/grc~ccappcomp/BgJobStart
BgJobStart URL
I tried to set it on one of the AS but this does not!
I have been testing all day and nothing works on jobs background.
The question is: how to operate the scheduler with a WebDispatcher?
Best regards

Hi Vincent,
What about adding the port to the URL for config parameter 107?
http://hc001wck.siege.intra.groupe-XXXXX.fr:80/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/grc~ccappcomp/BgJobStart
Hope it helps. Best regards,

If the reporting is scheduled, can the schedule be managed via Autosys?  Please describe.

    Yes,
For ex: You have Information Broadcasting scheduled via process chain. Now you can have process chain trigger set by AutoSys. Using Autosys you can schedule SAP jobs across applications and platforms.

Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions from Cisco expert Tejas Shah on One Management with Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Combining the wireless functionality of Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) with the wired functionality of Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution (LMS),  Cisco Prime Infrastructure simplifies and automates many of the day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining and managing the end-to-end network infrastructure from a single pane of glass. The new converged solution delivers all of the existing wireless capabilities for RF management, user access visibility, reporting, and troubleshooting along with wired lifecycle functions such as discovery, inventory, configuration and image management, automated deployment, compliance reporting, integrated best practices, and reporting.

Raun, please see my responses inline:
Can you go over the licensing method with Prime Infrastructure 1.2 please?
Raun, you can check out the following link for ordering guide at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps12239/products_data_sheets_list.html
I currently have NCS and do NOT currently have LMS.  I know I can move to Prime Infrastructure through Cisco Product Upgrade Tool.  However, what I am confused about is do I still have to buy LMS to have LMS functionality in Prime Infrastructure 1.2?
==> Not at all.  The converged product will give you basic management capability for routers and switches that LMS provided in this release.   Feature/Functionality will keep on growing with upcoming releases.
If not, do the licenses I transfer into Prime Infrastructure 1.2 from NCS also work for devices to work under LMS?
==> Licensing is different than NCS or LMS.  You don't have to transfer the license.  Each install of Prime Infrastructure will have a unique UID string on which the licenses are based.  A new license will be applied to the product.
Mean, can my currently 350 licenses be used for AP's as in NCS and routers in the LMS portion of Prime Infrastructure 1.2?
==> I would recommend getting a total count of your wired and wireless devices and match the right SKU based on that.
Hope this helps.. Let me know if you have any further questions,

  • Is there any way to override the Toshiba Power Management with the Windows Power Management???

Have an older P25-S607 and would prefer more control over the power management.....that I can get with Windows....any suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the obvious reminder   That was a duh moment.  It's easy to forget the simple sometimes when you get involved in troubleshooting when it's not something you do on a daily basis that's for sure.  The Toshiba controls have been fine for the life of the Toshiba laptops we have had, but I always felt they were a little limited on options IMHO.
In this instance I needed to utilize some of the added XP options as this laptop actually had the hinge 'sprung' a little and didn't "shut down" or hibernate when you closed the lid.....changed hubby's "normal procedure" for utilizing this "shop laptop" so he didn't overheat and fry the hard drive which is what I believe happened originally to the system that had been working fine until the hard drive was fried.  Changed it out, reloaded everything for him only to have the system need to be reformatted again within a week as windows took over.  As I was investigating causes I realized the malfunction.  Not sure of the how or why, but now have automated shut down backups if he forgets to shut down when he shuts the lid and walks away.   So far so good

During installation, an user casuser is created with certian security settings and if those are modified\removed, DM will not start.
Following message will be seen in /log/syslog.log
Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000775
To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support  to  recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

  • Daemon Manager Service

The CiscoWorks Daemon Manager Service is not starting on my server; I tried to start the service in the Services section of My Computer and through the CLI but it still won’t start. I rebooted the server several times with no luck. I don’t know what happened; everything was working fine last week and now this problem occurred. Any help would be appreciated!

    Good morning,
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give it a try!
Please let me give you a little more history on the problem I'm having, Tuesday I tried to open Ciscoworks and I received the following error on the browser after I tried to login.
Error 403: You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server.
After a reboot of the Ciscoworks server is when the Daemon Manager Service was unable to start at all. I did find a TID on fixing a Tomcat bug and ran it on Wednesday but the service still didn't start. After trying the suggestion this morning on resetting the Casuser password I went back and ran the TID from Wednesday again and this time the service started. Everything appears to be running normally but every time I try to login to the server I receive the error above with no errors being displayed in the syslog file. Hope this extra information helps and I appreciate your help!
    Thanks,
    Tim Walsh
PS - I am working on the server from a remote desktop connection so getting the log files to you might be tough to do.

It looks like you're seeing CSCte49301.  Follow the release note steps to solve this:
    Symptom:
The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command).  Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
    Conditions:
This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.
    Workaround:
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    Delete the following two files:
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
    net start crmdmgtd
If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled.  Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted.
