Question: Why some of my filters in filter drop down menu such as filter galery, artistic, brush stroke, distort, pixelate, sketch and texture all grey out? I have my file(picture open). How do i bring back? thanks

Hi,
A lot of the artistic type filters in photoshop only work when an image is 8 bits/channel.
Also, usually they work best if the image is RGB Color as well.

3 drop down menu issues

I have two issues here. www.newstribune.com. I know some of
this may be css issues, but I am aweful with css and could use a
cheat sheet for the css that dreamweaver makes for these drop down

Please not that the drop downs were made into an include and
are rendered on all the pages. (It is a process so, you may find
some pages that don't have the new drop downs if you poke around a
lot.)
lastly, if anyone knows what code I should strip out of the
drop down menu include in order to not cause the errors but still
allow it to be opened in Dreamweaver, can you please let me know?

Have you selected an image?
Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Do you mean the drop-down list that shows up when you right-click on the signature (in the Signature Panel or signature field)?
I do not think that just saving a PDF with no changes would result in that unless you somehow flattened the PDF.
Can you see the signature in the Signature Panel? Can you expand ([+] at left) the signature? Does the Signature Panel provide info for this signature? Is the signature validated? If "yes" then is the signature status Valid?
It could be that when you saved the file you somehow flattened the signature, so that now you have only signature appearance in the PDF but not a real signature field which contains all signature properties. If the Signature Panel does not contain your signature (enpty if your signature was the only one) then this is the most likely cause.

Airport drop-down menu greyed out

On my MacBook, the drop-down menu that appears when the Airport menu bar icon is clicked has greyed out. Although the MacBook joins my primary network just fine, I cannot choose my secondary network (second base station), even though it is listed. All action choices like "join other network", etc. are also greyed out and cannot be chosen.
I've rebooted, cycled Airport on/off/on, checked settings in Sys Prefs -> Network, etc. I've checked the Airport Extreme Base configuration using Airport Admin utility. This is a new problem, no known changes to system or applications other than installing Apple software updates as issued with a 2 week delay in case there's an update problem.
My Mini shows the drop-down Airport menu normally, and I can choose/join both my primary and secondary networks. Same software status as the MacBook - no new apps, all Apple updates after 2 week delay.
Any ideas for how to get my MacBook to un-grey the Airport menu items? Thanks!

Closing this question out, the MacBook reverted to normal behavior sometime since I posted the problem and this post. No clue why.

Yes, you'll need a client-side script to do fade-in/fade-out fx. Look at jQuery Superfish.

The edt option in the orange drop down menu is grayed out, how do I fix this?

It's the first time that I've went into the drop down menu since installing the latest FF and the edit option it grayed out, and not letting me access it.

That is normal. Does the menu open if you hover the arrow at the right of the Edit entry in the App menu?
Does the Paste link get highlighted if there is content on the clipboard and a text area is selected?
The entries in the Edit menu only work if they apply and there is something to do like text is selected and Copy will work.

Filter query based on a value from a drop down menu

I am using ADFBC/JDev 10.1.3/ADF-faces (JSPX)
I would like to display a table of data based on a view object and have a drop down menu of values that the user can select from which would filter the table of data. The filter would be applied to a field in the VO. For example, have a JSPX page that shows all employees and have a drop down menu that filters the employees by a specific department with an option to show all departments too in the drop down. I'm not sure if Steve Muench's example #76 (http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html) would serve as a basis for this requirement or not.
Can anybody give me high level guidance on how to do this? Both declaratively and programmatically would be great.

I can't get the JSPX page to display the correct data. It's displaying the entire VO and when you try to select Yes or No or All from the drop down menu, it just changes the Active Flag column in the table to whatever you select for the first row only and still displays the rest of the rows in the VO.

Drop down menu filter

Hi all,
I am trying to create a VC app with BI query. The query has structures e.g.
_____________________Actual Sales | Budget Sales
Current week Product A
Current week Product B
Current week Product C
Last Week Product A
Last Week Product B
Last Week Product C
Last Month
Last Year
(actual sales and Budget sales are key figures and Current week and last week are defined by custom weeks (from sunday to saturday) these are the selections)
Ideally I would like to have a drop down menu to show the Structures (current week, last week,...) when I choose current week this should pass this filter to the graph to show current week sales vs budget for products ABC...)
Is this possible and if so how??
You help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I am doing exactly that, but with the dynamic filter, it does not give me the options to filter using the structure or selections. it only gives me the option to select products and web api. I donot know how to use the web api to filter my selections and i donot know how to use the expression editer. I tried the static list and had the keys the same as the ones in the query. that does not work, can you outline the steps with the provided example.

Choose signature drop-down menu is grayed out

I know how to set up a signature for email; however, the "Choose Signature" drop-down menu is grayed out. I even put in several signatures thinking it needed more than one to choose from, but it is still grayed out. So I cannot choose a signature and thus my email does not have one.

So that option does not appear to be available.

Ah, I was just clicking on the + to add one, since I only have one email account.. As soon as I did as you mentioned, and THEN clicked on the + it added Signature 2, and that one works. I now have a signature in the email.

From the menu drop down list we are selecting a Search concept.. At this momnet drop down list is not dissapering unless we move the cursor and click outside the screen.. then only we are the drop is disappering or when we click on esc button...
How i need to overcome this problem..
This can be seen through out the application bec it has been developed in tempaltes when we are selecting the look and feel of application...

Hi Anoo,
It does depend on what is being used to display the drop-down menu in the first place.
To have a menu disappear on its own, you would probably need to use the onmouseout event: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536948(VS.85).aspx
This can be used to call a javascript function that closes whatever object you have opened to display the menu and will be triggered as soon as the use moves the mouse away from the menu.
