Grid lines disappear in vanishing point

I can't figure out why sometimes the gridlines will disappear in a plane in vanishing point.  Take the screenshot for instance.  I drew the bottom plane first and gridlines were there.  Then I did an apple-extend on the top grid which has lines.  But now when I click back in the bottom plane, the gridlines don't come back.  Sometimes my gridlines are also red, yellow, or blue and this seems to affect how I can alter them.  What is the pattern?

Found this answer regarding the colors anyway:
"Once you create your perspective plane, it should be represented by a blue grid. Sometimes, however, you may find the color of your grid isn't always be blue—it may be red or yellow. This is Photoshop's way of telling you that you've created an impossible perspective, and the grid needs correction. Yellow means you're close to a proper perspective; red means you're way off."

  • Why do my Waveform Chart Grid Lines Disappear when this runs?

    Hello all
I have a Waveform Chart that Im using. The charts grid lines are initially set at 1 min intervals...which works fine
However, after the 1 set of intervals (red grid lines) are reached, there are no further grid lines seen on my chart.
Can someone tell me how to create a chart with continuous grid lines that scroll?
    thanks

  • Vanishing Point Filter is buggy

The vanishing point filter does not work as smoothly as it did in CS5.
First, the grid lines disappear most of the time when drawing a new plane. Adjusting the grid spacing does not help. Sometimes editing a corner point will bring back the grid but it just comes and goes with now consistency. Mostly it is gone.
Second the filter freezes everytime I switch to the zoom tool after drawing a new plane. I click okay to exist vanishing point which saves my plane. I then return to vanishing point so I can finish working.
I used vanishing point a lot in CS5 and never had these problems.

  • Memory Error when trying to paste art into PS CS4 vanishing point grid

I get a memory error when trying to paste art into PS CS4 vanishing point grid.
"Photoshop.exe application Error The instruction at 0x7755886b referenced memory at 0xffffffff. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program"
I have plenty RAM, HD space, and virtual RAM/Cache in PS prefs.
    Any suggestions?

Try disabling the Aeros theme by selecting one of the Windows Classis Themes under desktop customization.  This seemed to fix the problem for me.

  • My perspective grid vanishing point adjustment is missing.

I was using the perspective grid tool and all of a sudden the selector for my vanishing point dissappeared.
How do I get this back? I have the perspective selection tool selected too BTW.
    Thanks
    This is what I have:
    I'm missing this selector:

    Jeff try this...

  • Struggling with vanishing point

I am playing with different materials in a ren dering and the vanishing point tool seemed appropriate. The trouble though is that no matter how much fiffdling it doesn't "get" the persepctive I'm working in - when I pull off planes in the perpindicular they never correspond with the unde rlying perpedicular planes in the image, even though i know they're orthogonal. SHould i just ignore this and tweak it do that the perspective looks ok with each plane, or is there  a way to get ortho planes to line up with ortho planes in the image underneath...

Never really seen this. The success of this is all about placing the points accurately. Also things such as wide angle lenses (used to shoot the original) can make vanishing point, which only works on a rigid 3D grid structure not work properly. Any geometric distortions caused by lenses can be 'corrected' with the 'Lens Correction' filter.
A tip - using the Z key will allow a temporary zoom and allow you to place the grid points more accurately.

  • When I have a border around a group of cellsand remove it, it also removes the grid lines. When I go to print the sheet, there are blank spaces where the border had been. I'm sing a MacBook.

When I have  a border around a group of cell, how do I remove it. If I outline the cells again and then show in the Inspector NO BORDER, it removes not only the borderbut when I go to print it also the grid lines.

What application are you using? Numbers? Excel? Something else?

    Hello Dec9,
    Thanks for the response.
I installed the 11.0.2 update and I still have teh BEX64 crash.  I have also tried starting PS CS4 and pressed Cntrl Shift & Alt at the same time.  It still crashes when I get to the point of moving text or a plane in a grid within Vanishing Point.
I also backed off from 90% as you suggested.

  • Remove grid lines by default in chart view

    Hello,
I'm working in version 10.1.3.4.1. I've been trying to remove the grid lines from the default chart view. I've read some posts on here and in the blogs about changing the default chart look, but I haven't seen anything specific to grid lines. I think I need to edit the pcxml files located in .../s_oracle10/popbin. I've been messing with these two files:
    - bar.pcxml (this seems to be for horizontal bar charts only)
    - column.pcxml (this seems to be for vertical bar charts only)
Within <ValueScale> and <CategoryScale> I tried changing the MajorGrid and MinorGrid parameters to values like 'Disabled' and 'False' but this seemed to have no effect. I also tried changing the color from #eeeee to something else but this also seemed to have no effect at all.
I've replicated whatever changes I've made to the corresponding file in the oc4j directory. I am restarting all services after making my changes. I have been able to get some changes to bar.pcxml and column.pcxml show up in the application. I was able to change the default BarStyle from 'Cylinder' to 'Rectangle' successfully, so I think my process of editing the file, copying it to the corresponding oc4j directory, and then bouncing the services is working.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting all of the grid lines to go away by default? So far I've only tried removing them from bar charts, but ultimately I want them off by default on line charts as well.

Are you able to acheive this.?
PCXML script is used for chart rendering, and with that I think you can't demark the Gridlines.
The following Xml file gives the definitions for the chart components including gridlines.
    chartviewtemplates.xml
Which inturn refers to the following js for gridlines
i think you have to work on the Js here demark the grid lines by default
    <Oracle_BIHome>\web\app\res\b_mozilla\views\chart
    dlggridlineseditor.js
Before doing any changes take the backup.
    Thanks,
    Vino

  • Problem removing grid lines from prints in PhotoShop Elements 13

I cannot remove faint grid lines from my prints in Photoshop Elements 13, even after I've turned off the grid overlay. How can I get these lines out? I'm desperate as I am writing a book and am stymied at this point. Help!

The grid does not print. There has to be another source for the visible grid lines on your prints. Suggest that you do the following:
Make sure that your ink cartridges have plenty of ink
Do a deep cleaning of your print head
Align the cartridges as per instructions in the printer's manual
    Do a test print

  • Circles w/o outlines, lines disappear

I am new to drawing using APsE, so pardon me if this is a stupid question.
I am having a terrible time drawing a complex segmented circle. The outer circle I got from a file. I then drew 3-pixel black lines dividing the circle into 12 pie-shaped regions.
Problem 1: I wanted an inner circle that would be transparent fill but have a normal 3-pixel outline. Any circle I draw can have a black or white fill (but not a transparent one), and there doesn't seem to be any way to have the circle edge be black. The menu item Edit/Stroke Outline would seem to be the answer but it is always dimmed.
Temporary solution: I made the inner circle black-filled, then added another slightly smaller white-filled circle, and moved the latter over the black-filled circle so only the thin black outer edge showed, effectively giving me a circle with a black edge.
Problem 2: I still needed those 3-pixed lines dividing the inner circle into pie-shaped segments that matched the outer circle. I can draw only 1 pixel-wide lines (wider lines disappear - why is this?), but as soon as I draw a third line the second line disappears. For example, I can draw vertical and horizontal lines, but as soon as I draw a line 30 degrees off-vertical it one of the other lines disappears.
    Temporary solution: None
I believe I went wrong when I started doing multiple circles. I would have no problem if I could just make an inner circle with the edge showing black but the inside being transparent.
BTW, I want to then select, in the inner circle, alternating pie shapes and filling them with black. If you see I am going to get into trouble doing that please let me know and offer a solution.
Thanks. I'm quite good at computers but graphics is like color to a blind person.
    P.S. I am on Windows 7 64-bit SP-1 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0

    Create a new blank image.
Use the Elliptical Marquee tool to create a large circular selection.
Use Select...Save Selection to save the selection as "Large Circle".
Select...Transform selection, and drag one of the corners to make a smaller circle.
Select...Save Selection to save this as "Small Circle".
    Create a new empty layer.
    Load the large circle selection.
Stroke the selection with 3px black on the inside.
    Create a new layer.
    Load the small circle selection.
Stroke it with 3px black on the inside.
In the Layers Palette, highlight both layers containing stroked circles.
Choose the Move tool, and in its Options Bar use Align...Vertical Centers, then Align...Horizontal Centers.
At this point, your image looks like this:
and your layers look like this:
    Create a new empty layer.
Use the Line tool and hold down the Shift key to draw a 3px horizontal line filled with black.
    Simplify the line layer.
Hit Ctrl+J to duplicate the line layer.
With the Move tool, hold down the Shift key to rotate the copied line 30 degrees.
Repeat steps 19 and 20 until you have all the line segments drawn.
At this point your image looks like this:
and your layers look like this:
Highlight all the line segment layers, right-click on one of them in the Layers Palette and choose "Merge Layers" to get this layer arrangement:
On the merged layer, use Select...Load Selection to load the "Large Circle" selection.
Select...Inverse to invert the selection and hit your Delete key to trim the line segments.
    Deselect All.
Use Ctrl+Alt+Shif+E (Stamp Visible) to create a new merged layer from all the layers.
Use the Fill tool on that merged layer to colour to your heart's content.
    The final layers:
    And the final image:
    Added:
Whooooops!  I see that the line segments aren't centered in the circles.  Add step 24a:
24a.  Select the layers and use the Move tool's Alignment options to center everything.
After step 25, you might have to re-align the loaded selection with the image....
To get the transparency you want in the segments of the inner circle, simply select the segments with the Magic Wand and hit the Delete key, hide all the layers except the top one, then save the image as a PNG:

  • Grid line problem with linked Excel files

I am trying to import and Excel spreadsheet to InDesign, but even when I clear grid in Excel it is still imported with grid lines.  I can't figure out how to clear them off while still having the spreadsheet correctly linked. This seems like an issue with a simple solution (I hope), I just don't normally need to use Excel for anything :/
    Any ideas? thanks

How do I get "Vanishing Point" to work properly on iMac Retina 5k? When I "render grid to photoshop" the grid is not in right place and scale. I'm using latest version of CC.

OMG! What a load of crap and thank you for posting this. I spent 3 solid hours to do something that I have done hundreds of times before, apply a Vanishing Point filter. I kept thinking I had some non-default setting on and was literally screaming at my new iMac. I NEVER thought it would be the cause. It was actually easier to reinstall CS5 on an older Mac and just do the stuff I needed. This is crazy. I fully get why Adobe doesn't support this yet but to not make a huge deal out of it so people know about it is just wrong. When I searched for Vanishing Point on the Forums, this thread showed almost the bottom of the first page. It should be stuck to the top until they fix it.

  • Small Black Vertical Lines follow my mouse pointer AND surround all ICONS

Small Black Vertical Lines follow my mouse pointer AND surround all ICONS on my desktop. I just turned on my computer and it showed like this. I already tested my monitor and it's not the monitor.
See a picture of my problem here on my me gallery:
    http://gallery.me.com/egarfias/100024
Looking at websites, it's fine the display but any icons and my pointer and things that move have these lines following! Looking at VIDEO, it's the picture is full of white and black lines though you can see the video just fine.
    Any ideas? Thank you!!

I am in Safe Mode now: This is the weirdest thing: A bit from column A AND B:
The display is perfect EXCEPT for two parallel lines of 17, 3 millimeter-long black lines that follow the pointer everywhere it goes.
Get this: my current display is 1024x768, but when I change it to 640x480, the pointer and everything is perfect! (of course, I can only see a fraction of my desktop)
But then again... when I zoom in and out holding down control (in 640x480) the pointer lines appear again, but less lines. They disappear when I re-reset it to 640.
    Strange.
But yeah, safe mode is NEAR perfect with the except of the cursor lines. I can screen grab my cursor though to show...

  • Help: matrix report grid lines missing for null values only on server side

    Hi,
I created a matrix report in pdf format. The output in great when run through report builder locally, it renders all necessary details. However, after the report being moved into AS server, the report does not show grid lines for null values.
It looks to me this has something to do with configurations and hope someone know what needs to be done.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for replying.
    DESFORMAT is PDF.
There should be a fix as I had same issue with same Oracle version at my previous company. DBA fixed the issue on AS server.
I found your post on 09/28/2010 with a link to patch set: Re: Null value fields disappear  in pdf output format
We worked out with the work around without install the patch.
