Group MMS sent from my iPhone 4 - I did not send it
I had a group MMS sent from my iPhone 4 this morning - they sent it to 3 of my contacts and 3 numbers I do not know.
I was at work at the time the message was sent and it was zipped up in my purse.
I have my own office and none of my co-workers had/has access to my iPhone to play a prank.
It was a chain mail type thing, one was an image/picture.
Could this be a random thing or should I be concerned that my phone/MMS messaging has been hacked?
My phone is not jailbroken or anything like that - I've checked my data usage and it's low (only a few days into my billing cycle)
It was sent about an hour ago and no more have gone out since - just not sure what to do.
Thanks for any advice you can give!
In addition to my iphone I have an itouch. I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

I repeat. While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they began recieving text messages from my Iphone that I did not send. I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered. Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent. I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone. They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number. Is such a think possible?

emails have been sent from my iphone and they are not from me. what do I do to secure this doesn't happen again? I've already changed password
I have this problem too, it's called "spoofing" aparently.
There isn't much you can do except change your email address which is a huge problem if like me you have an Apple one and can't change it without losing your whole iTunes and App purchase history which is a billiantly stupid bit of design on Apple's part.
There's some interesting stuff here: http://www.bluehostforum.com/showthread.php?132-how-to-stop-spoofed-email-addres ses
but I don't think there's much chance of applying it to iCloud but I am not an expert. -
I purchased an app from my iphone and it did not download to my phone. It says I have already purchased the app, but it is nowhere to be found...Help???
Try syncing the iPhone to iTunes. If it doesn't appear, then log in to your account and check Purchased.
You're in the Mac App Store Community, if my suggestion doesn't work, then repost in https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_store -
Emails being sent from my account that I did not ssend
This morning I was sent an email wife's email account that she did not send, further, it has now been sent to her entire contact list. How do I stop this.
The problem is with your email provider. I suspect someone has hacked your account because you use the same password for most of your online work. You should change your password and not use the same password for most of your on-line accounts, most people are lazy and don't use different passwords because they can't remember them all. You should begin changing your passwords and using a password management tool to help you remember. If you need help choosing one Google "OS X Password Managers" to find some reviews.

Text messages appearing to be from my number which I did not send
I have recently had an issue whereby I sent a text message to someone in my phone book but when this was received it looked as if it had been sent by a third, totally unknown number.
I also experienced the opposite, whereby someone received a text appearing to be from my number which I categorically did not send.
No-one had access to my phone on either of these occasions (or any other iPhones/iPads I've previously or now own) and it is not a prank of any kind - messages are literally being sent appearing as if they are from a different number than the one that sent it.
How is this even possible and do I have any privacy whatsoever when sending messages or could these literally be sent to anyone with an iPhone (as I have experienced in both directions)? My Apple ID is on my iPad but the message I allegedly 'sent' was received by the other person as an SMS.
Even if this is the case, I just cannot fathom that this can even be possible. It got to the extent that I was receiving abusive calls from women accusing me of texting their boyfriends when I hadn't! It makes me question how many times this may have happened but gone unnoticed because the recipient had just decided to ignore the message from an unknown number.
How can I trust that my messages won't be being sent willy nilly to random people across the world?! -
My facetime app has disappeared from my iphone screen. I did not do anything for it to disappear so what happened?
On the iPhone there is no FaceTime app or icon for it.
FaceTime is integrated into iOS.
You access it through contacts. -

Hello,
I have no idea what to do. Every time I try to connect, within seconds it disconnects... Because of this, I cant update my apps because they are over 50MB. So most of my apps are frozen...I also have this problem. One additional symptom is that though I can log on momentarily, almost immediately it disconnects me from WiFi, then brings up a "Log In" page with Apple's version of a 404 error. The URL that it appears to be trying to connect to is www.apple.com. Have tried powering down my phone, cycling my modem and router, re-entering my AppleID, forgetting the network and rejoining. Nada. Home network using Airport. This didn't happen while at work where we don't use Airport.
This only happens with my iPhone 4S. My iPad 2 works just fine. -
Messages are being sent from my computer that I did not originate
I am receiving multiple e-mails saying that messages could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. I have not initiated these e-mails. How do I stop whoever has hi-jacked my computer to send these messages from doing this?

Imap mail sent from my iphone does not show up in the sent folder on my desktop
imap mail sent from my iphone or ipad does not show up in the sent folder on my desktop
Hi Bob,
I'm using Mac Mail 4.5
I have set up my mail preferences to include a "From"
Web mail includes the appropriate "from" header information.
Interestingly, when I send emails from this account on other machines it's ok.
(ipad2,iPhone 3s,powermac)
It just seems to be the MacBook Pro that is presenting this error.
As an aside, my ISP host recently upgraded from Pop to Imap.

How can I see if a picture was sent from my iPhone? I am not sure the number the picture(s) was sent to..and whether or not it was an iPhone...I just want to know if someone sent themselves pics from my phone. Aside from a court order to obtain data message info, any ideas? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I believe that my iPhone or apple ID has been hacked into. Three imessages were sent from my phone that I did not type or send - two while I was asleep at 1:15am and in the morning during an iMessage conversation. These messages were to my boyfriend about my boss. Apple and AT&T have been somewhat helpful but both are pointing fingers at the others saying they cannot track the message or see if my personal information has been compromised. I feel extremely violated because this hacker knows who my boyfriend is and who my boss is and I just started this job two weeks ago! I am about to go to the police because this person is trying to taint my good reputation and destroy my relationships at work and in my personal life. Does anyone have any incite on how this could be done and is there any way to trace where those three iMessages were generated from??
No I have my own iPhone iPad and MacBook so everything is set up on devices that are mine and as far as I know I never connected to anyone else's device and logged with my apple ID. But are you saying it is possible for someone to have obtained my apple ID and send an iMessage from their device with my contact information so it looks like it came directly from me? It's crazy I looked down at my iPhone and saw this message had just been sent that I did not type or send

I added an e-mail account to my iphone using microsoft exchange; all went fine. I then deleted a number of contacts from my iphone that I did not want on my phone. when I went into my e-mail account on my computer the contacts were deleted from there also. Will I be able to retrieve them? If so, how? Thank you.
In the device sync pages select Photos on the top at the right.

Friends Receiving Texts from Me I Did NOT Send
Apparently over the past week my friends have been getting a strange poem texted from my number that I did not send them, the text does not appear on my iPhone 4S either, the text says:
"because i've taken upon the challenge
to write a book this month
chup and i have resorted to the one
thing we avoid like a mortal enemy:
a schedule.
each hour is designated as a workspace
each day has an ample to do list
we're dedicated to accomplishing
the work.
with my time allotted out
and not much for wiggle room
i am surprised to find how much more
i get done in a day.
yesterday i wrote,
i cooked
i worked
i cleaned
i fed the baby
(interspersing)
i napped
i read books to the children
and just before sunset
we hiked the dusty
shoreline trail.
it makes me wonder
if having a schedule gives me
so much more time,
will my second mortal enemy
(a budget)
give me
more
money?
thanks Page and dog Dixie for the beautiful evening on the trail.
this month I've decided to write a book while simultaneously breastfeeding my baby and battling the postpartum blues. should be a blast. will i get it done?
stay tuned . . "
Pretty strange....thanks in advance for any help.We will need more information to be able to assist you.
These message yoy are receiving are probably just a particular type of spam. However it is also possible (unlikely) that your email account is being used to send spam, and that these are the bounce messages.
To tell the difference, you need to look at the email headers. Open the message, then go to the View menu and select Message -> All Headers.
Select the text and post it back here (remembering to obscure your own email address first).
Cheers,
Rodney
