GroupWise POA Agent stopping several times a week.

We have two servers Suse Linux 11.1 64/OES11 with services GroupWise 8.0.2, (POA, MTA and GWIA), we have two post offices, one with 300 and another with 500 users.
When this service was running GroupWise on Netware 6.5, worked perfectly. After migrating to Suse Linux / OES, got a problem with the POA agents, stopping several times a week.
Initially imagined it could be the version of linux suse 10.4 with OES2.3, did a fresh install on two new servers with 11.1 suse linux 64 and OES11, but the problem remains unsolved.
Anyone know if Novell has already found the solution for this problem, because I have a friend with the same problem in your company and is using the GroupWise 2012.

We are having a similar issue (GroupWise POA Agent stopping several times a week). SLES 11 SP1, OES 11, GW build 8.0.3-103395. Output from "dmesg | grep gwpoa" follows:

You have too much junk installed…
    The 'easy' way - reinstall
I think you will be quickest backing up the HD to an external disk (check it still boots!). Erase the internal HD, reinstall 10.9, migrate your USER DATA ONLY back to 10.9, reinstall the apps you use, then delete the old login items & user launchd jobs that migrated. You should have a stable system at the end of it.
The hard way - 'cleaning up'
Firstly search these forums for opinions on running Sophos's AV - it adds extra work to your system & many have had issues with it on 10.9. At the very least ensure it is the latest release & 10.9 supported. Sophos is running 7 system level background jobs and 2 kernel extensions! These all can modify how the system runs.
At the end of cleanup you may have a stable system - it really depends on how much effort you put into clearing out all the system level jobs that are not compatible with 10.9. The developers don't make it easy to remove software too, so you may have a lot of searching to do (for instructions & uninstallers).

Uninstall Jacksta, the 'startup items' have been deprecated since 10.4 - Apple told developers to stop using them years ago.
Update all the other apps listed or find uninstallers/ removal instructions to correctly remove the software.
Are all those sierrawireless and novatelwireless drivers used or needed anymore?
Can you uninstall BlueStacks? It's failing to run jobs inside your user account, get rid of things that don't work (or update them & check they do work).
Java's updater is failing to run - is Java up to date? Do you need Java installed? It isn't installed on Mac OS anymore because of it's lousy security record. Update or remove if you don't need it.
You could try removing Sophos & find that the Mac runs OK - but eventually having all the old kernel extensions & background jobs around will eventually cause something else to break.

  • Old airport base station quits working several times and week and won't let

    me change the password.
I changed the password on my ibook and reset the airport base station but it still will not change the wpa2 password to the new one. I'm changing the password to rule out anyone having hacked into the network. Several times a week the whole network goes down and I have to turn off power to the base station to get it working again.
I have plugged it into a battery backup ups but that has not prevented it from crashing.

Pick, a quick Google search for "Airport Firmware 5.5.1" yielded the following link:
    http://mac.sofotex.com/download-122643.html
I sense you're getting frustrated - I have a gift for such perceptiveness. Anyway, I wish I could explain your problems but I have no magic bullet for what you're experiencing. All I can offer is to suggest you download and install the above firmware. Hopefully the link works; I haven't tried it. There may be other ways of obtaining 5.5.1 but none was immediately apparent from Apple. Once installed, stick with firmware 5.5.1. As I noted I suffered major problems with 5.6 and have heard anecdotal reports of similar problems with 5.7 though apparently they're much rarer. My Extremes run literally forever without problems so I hope yours can too.
Next, disable all the encryption on your network for the duration of your troubleshooting. Simplify things as much as possible - remove all but one wireless client from your network. Perform a "hard reset" of your Extreme and reconfigure it from new. Run things like that for a while and see if anything changes.
Is it possible you're suffering from poor power quality e.g. dropouts, surges, sags, etc? Have you tried a UPS or at least a surge suppressor? I had a spell last summer when the utility would shut off power for a half second a day, literally, a half second, once a day, every day, for weeks. It drove me nuts. They immediately stopped this nonsense the moment I started running my Airport off a battery.

  • Kernel panics several times a week

My MacBook Pro keeps having continuous kernel panics several times a week. How can I figure out what's causing them?

    Hi serylup,
I think I was able to find the cause. I realized that the kernel panics only began happening soon after I bought a Logitech Wireless Bluetooth mouse. Instead of just using the mouse with the Bluetooth connectivity, I also installed the software that came with it.
So, what I did was turn off the mouse and delete it from the list of Bluetooth devices on the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences. Then I went and purged my system of the Logitech additional software. I made sure that all the suspect files like .plist files and Application Support files were removed as well.
Then I rebooted and started  using my machine. The kernel panics stopped immediately. I then proceeded to use the mouse but only with the Bluetooth connectivity and no extra software and I haven't had any problems since.
So, I guess what I would recommend you do is to try and figure out if you've installed any third-party software for any peripheral devices (especially if they come from Logitech!!!) and uninstall those third party devices. You really don't need Logitech software for their keyboards and wireless mouses; they work just fine as "plug-and-play".
    I hope this helps!
    D. J.

  • My MacBook Pro Retina crashes several times a week

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro, 15 inch, Retina, with the latest software updates installed.  It crashes several times a week, usually while I'm just surfing the web.  The most recent crash was different, it just fully locked up-  the pointer was moveable, but nothing on the screen was interactive and I finally had to shut it down.
I ran the onboard hardware diagnostics, and it all came back clean.  I suspect that I have a software conflict left over from the migration from the previous machine, but I'm rubbish at reading kernel panics.  At least I'm hoping like **** it's software and not hardware.  Are any of you having similar experiences with your new MacBooks?

Your problem is likely one of these. In particular, I've seen several instances where virtualbox doesn't play well with Mavericks. I'm not sure what the other ones are.

  • HT1498 When renting a movie for Apple TV the movie stopped several times interrupting play. Can anyone explain why that might happen?

WE rented our first movie using Apple TV and at the beginning of the movie it stopped several times and we had to manually restart it. Any suggestions as to how to prevent this?

What is your actual connection speed (speedtest.net)?
Are you on wifi? If so have you checked for interference using istumbler or netstumbler or tried Ethernet?
Are you using your ISPs DNS?

  • MICROSOFT WORD CRASHING SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK!!!

MICROSOFT WORD HAS BASICALLY BECOME A LIABILITY FOR ME.  It has consistently crashed several times a week (while working on a single word document and nothing else open but safari).  It sits there stuck for several minutes until I have no choice
but to force quit, and then I lose my work (despite several saves...i can't keep saving fast enough). I've had to re-do work on several documents over the course of the past 2 weeks---time which I cannot bill for.  PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

You should repost your problems with word in the more appropriate Office Community forums, here...

  • Home Gateway loses service several times each week

    Hello!
My parent's have a PACE American Gateway which connects us to our internet, wi-fi, and cable. For the past several months, the gateway seems to lose (and reboot) its connections. The normal state of the gateway is as follows:
    Power: solid green light
    Wireless: flashing green light
    Broadband: solid green light
    HomePNA: flashing green light
    Service: solid green light
When the connections are lost, all of the lights go solid red, and off (power light stays on). There is also a clicking noise as the system reboots. This is happening several times a week. I know there's construction going on at the end of my street, but I doubt that's the reason it keeps losing/rebooting the signals. We also have a battery backup attached to the gateway.

I also know that the Ipv6 standard was added to our Uverse, but that was done a few days ago. I checked the cords and everything is connected properly. What can be done to get this issue resolved? My parents would prefer not to have a technician come out, but if they have to, they have to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You can try using the T&R tool here: https://ufix.att.com/portal/index.html?tGseq=validate__referrerId_3__ref_&AUTHN_ACTION=PASSWD_LOGIN#home
You will need the account holders log in credentials to access it.  It will run tests and set up a dispatch if needed.  I would also load it on a mobile device so once it goes down you can run it from that to see if it finds the issue.

  • Intermittent Uverse Outages Happening Several Times a Week, Sometimes Several Times a Day

Hi. Pretty much every day (but not every single day), and several times a day, our AT&T Uverse service goes out for 60 seconds or so -- everything, including cable, broadband, and telephone is affected. For example, it's happened three times today. This has been happening for about a month or so. When it happens, our computers' browsers bring up an AT&T/Motorola Diagnostics page. Lately, the message has been saying "Warning: DSL Failed to Connect," but in the past, it's been a little different. Can you help?

Just taking a stab here but do you have IPv6 enabled? Many of us had a problem with our RG rebooting throughout the week when IPv6 was enabled (which is the default setting). Disabling IPv6 has resolved that issue for me and some others. If you are using the NVG-589, you can change this setting by going to Home Network menu, then Configure menu on the router.

  • Disk need repair several times a week

    Hi, guys.
My device is rMBP late 2013. I update to Yosemite at first time when it released.
A month ago, I find my mac so  slow, and I verify disk in Disk Utility. Verify was stopped with many error about disk.
I restart Mac and press command+R into recovery mode, and repair disk. It works but something was wrong after repair.
Disk Utility report many wrong code, but I can't find the reason even one of them. I just repair disk again and again.
What's wrong with my disk? And can I find the reason about this?
    Thanks a lot!

The most recent update, Macbook Pro Retina update 2.0, jacked things up, I heard Apple pulled the update from their servers so that others don't update to it that haven't, but for us people that did, we just have to reset the SMC until Apple pulls the thumb out and release an update to fix the issue.

  • Windows 8 (all versions) stop several times, bootcamp 4.0 macbook air core i 5 4GB Ram, 128 SSD

    Hello People.
1- Macbook Air Core i 5 4GB Ram 128 SSD. mountain lion 10.8.2 (latest updates).
2- Windows 8 core or windows 8 professional or windows 8 enterprise.
    mixed with:
    Boot camp 4.0 in a 35GB partition.
    Results:
after complete installing the windows 8  it stops working if I install windows support drivers then stops working again.
Then I must restart required by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.
installing on a battery, not charging is OK and works good drivers updated, but when you plug in the charger for charging the MAcbook Air Battery , it stops working again.
I Confused. May be a driver of

I see that you are saying all versions of Windows 8 are failing on your system, but are you including 32-bit and 64-bit flavors?  I understand why 32-bit versions might give you grief (too much RAM for a 32-bit system to handle).  A 64-bit system might still have device driver issues.  Microsoft does not auto-magically have all the device drivers in the world that are necessary to make any system usable.  The original device manufacturers must provide Microsoft with drivers before the Windows Update servers would be able to communicate said drivers to the computers in question.
In regards to Apple devices, Apple has not yet released the device drivers needed to run the hardware with Windows 8.  Apple has released the drivers for previous versions of Windows (XP SP2 and higher, Vista RTM and higher, 7 RTM and higher) to their userbase, but not to Microsoft for distribution through Windows Update (unless I am mistaken).  Until Apple releases a version of Boot Camp updated for use with Windows 8, they have not yet released any form of the full collection of necessary device drivers for normal device function with Windows 8.  Running compatibility mode on the Windows 7 device driver bundle via boot camp is not a fully palatable solution because compatibility mode generally is meant for application programs, not device driver services.  Therefore, partial compatibility might be gained by using the Windows 7 device drivers for Windows 8 with the compatibility mode enabled prior to install.  Unfortunately, much unanticipated incompatibility is equally likely with such a decision.
Some parting words on the subject may be necessary for clarification: prior to the RTM versions of Windows 8, the trial versions of Windows 8 were distributed with a much wider array of device drivers than the RTMs.  This was for Microsoft's testing purposes.  Furthermore, some of the architecture used during the trial period likely used Windows 7 engines more than Windows 8 engines.  This means the Windows 7 drivers pack would have had more likelihood of working during the Beta and Release Candidate periods than during the final Golden Master period we have now entered.  Regardless, it is not recommended by Apple (our hardware manufacturer) to use another method of installing Windows on a Mac than to utilize Boot Camp.
As Mende1 suggested, you would be wise to reinstall a previous version of Windows you may have been running.  Also, given your previous post, you will want to repair your OS X installation back to full functionality prior to the Windows reinstall.  For a reasonable timeline estimate, consider that it took 89 days from the original release of Windows 7 by Microsoft until Apple originally released device drivers via an updated Boot Camp.  That puts a reasonable ETA for the necessary Boot Camp update at January 22nd/23rd.  Even though this does not seem to apply to your situation, the discounted download for the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade will end after January 31st.
    Cheers!

  • CoreAudio - Have to quit/relaunch CoreAudio several times a week

    Hey all,
Anyone else have this problem with CoreAudio? This happens when waking the computer from sleep or connecting/disconnecting speakers or headphones in the headphone jack.
Suddenly I'll have no audio even though the volume icon doesn't gray out and the computer reports no problems with audio. I'm still able to adjust volume, only there is no sound.
I have to launch Activity Monitor and Quit (never had to Force Quit, just normal quit) the process called "coreaudiod".
Probably the most minor problem I'm currently having under 10.7.2 and I'm hoping all these problems will be resolved under 10.7.3.
I have reinstalled Lion twice with no results with any of my problems.

currently having the issue with coreaudio as well but not with headset.
After I intstall itunes 10.5.3 my audio begin to act weird, the music, the video keep stop play random, and recently the laptop doesnt recognize the audio at all mean doesnt matter I push on mute, increase or derease the volumen nothin change. how do I fix this problem ? do I need to go to store so they cna fix it or it is a hardware problem come with itunes ?

  • Need to reset SMC several times a week...

    Hello!
I have a couple of months old Retina Macbook which I need to reset the SMC like 4 out of 5 times I boot into Windows.
Otherwise I get horrible frame rates in games.
    Why is this?
    Sincerely,
    Petter

The most recent update, Macbook Pro Retina update 2.0, jacked things up, I heard Apple pulled the update from their servers so that others don't update to it that haven't, but for us people that did, we just have to reset the SMC until Apple pulls the thumb out and release an update to fix the issue.

  • Time Capsule keeps locking up and has to be restarted several times a week.

I have had this Time Capsule for well over a year, but in the last few months it has started locking up and must be restarted for the WiFi to work. At first, it was only once or twice a month, but now it's locking up almost daily. Is this a software issue or hardware? Never had this problem with the Air Port.

How old and what model is the TC?
    What OS on the computer??
Is the TC bridged or router mode??
There are major network issues since Lion .. made worse on ML.
I can only suggest a full factory reset of the TC..
Use all SMB names.. TC name, wireless names.. (different for 5ghz) and hard disk.
That means, short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Set fixed channels and use only wpa2 personal security.
This has helped some people but is not a sure fix.

  • I just bought a apple tv, i was watching a move and i had to re start the move several times because it would stop in the middle of the movie? does anyone know what to do about it?

I juar bought an apple tv. I was watching a movie and it stopped several times. I had to re-start it again and again. Does anyone knows why and how can I correct it?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
