Please post here about what settings you are using to run this ram stable on NF980-G65 Mobo.
Exactly what are you setting in the bios? Voltage= ? Anything else?
Our knowledge of knowing what works & how, can be greater then what we get told by some Reps.
Please, let us help each other to help ourselves. We know better, we really use these Mobos.

Believe Mike's statement was "not going to gain anything significant" rather than "won't gain anything". In my experience, a stable 1333 is far better than a problematic 1600. With some tweaks, 1333 can rival basic 1600 performance anyway. Should as little of a gain as 1 or 2 FPS at 1600 speed be considered significant? IMHO, CPU & VGA have a bigger influence on performance than RAM. This isn't helping answer your thread's original topic question however, so I hope Vorg or others can come back with some specifics that worked for them. Many times, even with similar systems & components, the results can't be duplicated unfortunately.

Brand new nf980-g65 no post after bios update

I just built a system using an NF980-G65 with a Phenom II x4 and after updating the bios it has no post.
I am not sure how to proceed. I tried removing all accessories and removing the battery but nothing helped.

What bios did you flash and did flash end successfully or was it interrupted.

I recieved my 20" iMac today and am having the same issue.
Specs:
As stock except with 256MB VRAM and 1GB RAM (factory installed).
Ordered 25th Jan.
Recieved 3rd Feb.
Problem appears with Front Row, Real Player, iCal and possibly others I haven't tried. I'm reluctant to install software and migrate data from my Mac mini because of this issue.
I've run the hardware test. Passed.
I've left the iMac unplugged for 30min.
I've reset the PRAM by unplugging the iMac, waiting 1min, then plugging it back in while holding the power button.
Nothing has worked. I haven't called Apple yet but I plan to.

Could someone from support please post a credible fix for the fact that the Dreamweaver preview feature hasn't worked since FF3.6 came out, and still won't work in FF3.6.10

Ever since FF3.6 came out there has been an issue with the Dreamweaver preview feature. As a result, I uninstalled 3.6 and am hanging out with 3.5.9 until this issue is resolved. Every time a new version of Firefox comes out I do a Google search to see if the issue has been resolved. I just did another search, and as of 9/23/10 with FF3.6.10 this issue is still not resolved. Could Firefox Support please provide a credible article about resolving this issue. People have been posting about it for years, and the only useful advice I have seen is for people to go back to 3.5.9 !?
I am currently working with Mac OS10.4.11, and DW CS3, but I have seen people post about having this issue with Mac OS10.5 and DW CS4 and other configurations, so the problem seems pretty universal.

They are a work in progress, fun and frustrating at the same time... and I have been experimented with having meta tag descriptions or having the title in the url as well...It looks like if you have a meta tag description google only reads that rather than getting info from the page that you wrote? Can you just have a keyword metatag without a description metagtag?
I think I lost rank on Craigs Prints since I added the meta tag description...

I just redid this after looking at examples I found. I'm a novice at iweb, but I think I'm just scratching the surface. I need to work on better organization and perhaps design. I have to say though I'm pleased with the outcome thus far.

I am trying to use the labview zlib interface (from the code libary). My problem is, that I want to have
the zlib.dll in the root directory of my application, which is not the same directory as the directory where the vi is. (and I don't want to have it in winnt\system32 either..)
The Interface to the zlib.dll is made with cin's, so I'can't change it. If the author of the interface would post the c-sources it could be done..

OpenG.org is about to release a zip toolkit based on a modified version zlib.dll adapted to LabVIEW. Calls to DLL function are made using Call Libray node instead of CIN so you will be able to change the DLL path. It will be posted here as soon as the package is ready. It is Available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

No comments, just usage, standby time and battery % left. Want to get an idea of the average out there, and not just hear speculation or the worst case scenarios.

I'd like to better understand how the multitasking function works and the CPU usage and battery drain because of it. My assumption is, which could definitely be incorrect, the apps that are open/being multitasked (whether they currently take advantage of it or not) are taking a slice of CPU and battery resources. Again, maybe I'm wrong with that assumption, but I sure hope Apple comes out with an option in the near future that will allow us to disable it completely and/or allow us to select which apps we want to enable/disable multitasking. I don't care to have non-essential apps be open in multitasking.

NF980-G65 ram problems

when i use GSKILL ram witch i have never had a problem. i use a receiver for all my signals video/audio. so if i ever have any thing happen. i can tell. what the receiver dose is act like the signal is looping every second. but there is never a video signal (just a TV no signal blue screen). that is what happens.
now the cause. i put in extra ram. being 4 GB more. same exact ram. 9-9-9-24

a total of 8 GB of ram, but when i did that happened. i take out the ram it was fine. so i thought ok well it could be the new ram. then put the new ram in. then it was fine so long as there was only 4 GB's in . when i put in one of the of the sticks (being 6 GB) 2 GB extra it just did nothing. the board works fine for im using it now to send this, but with 4 GB's of ram and there is an APP i need to use. and can't because it won't hold the extra ram. and when i get the ram working i know i will need a 64-bit windows. the app was using 71 to 82% of 4 GB's of ram. so i need to know if there is something in BIOS i need to set. or if i need different ram.

I am not sure about whether you can download the 8 version from any of the Adobe sites. I'd suggest contacting customer support. (http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/contact.html). You can call customer support or wait for the chat window to appear using which you can resolve your problem.

New Nf980-g65 board refuses to post please help

Hi everyone I just purchased a nf980-g65 board and installed the cpu a phenom II 945 and connected everything and the board will not post no beeps fans spin up and one power phase light comes on. If I removed the ram however the board will make 3 long beeps without the ram installed I did a bench test no change with ram installed the ram is patriot pdc32g1333elk is the ram causing an issue or what could be wrong?

Is this a new build?
Does it worked before?
Have you tried to boot with barabone setup and mainboard of PC case?
Do >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed,
leave 1 memory stick in 1st DIMM close to CPU socket. Then try to boot.

NF980-G65 Must press reset button to get post boot problem.

I've seen other posts here & on New Egg where I ordered the MSI 980-G65 Mobo, about when booting for the first time you may find you need to press the reset button to post boot. It seems this is not an isolated problem.
I read the mobo book while building & read the first thing to do is get into the Bios & load optimized defaults on page En-32. I did that & I always have to press the reset button to post boot every time I start up for the first time. Any self restarts after that are ok. I installed Gskill Ripjaw series DDR3 1600Mhz ram & set the voltage for 1.5v. It booted with ram default @ 1333Mhz. I set the NB freq to 1:4 to set it to 16oo Mhz, I thought it was cuz you have to OC the settings to get the ram to run @ 1600Mhz. I still had to press reset to get it to post. I know that making any changes other then keeping default settings may cause these problems. I also read here someone else stated to clear the CMOS, move the ram around & it worked for him. I didn't do that. I decided to load the failsafe defaults, save it, & restart. It booted ok at cold boot. So, back into the Bios I reset all my settings all over again, saved it, rebooted ok from cold start.
One thing to know, The setting for ganged ram @ 128bit is duel channel mode. The unganged setting puts you in single channel mode @ 64bit. Useing 2 sticks, 2X2GB in Dimms 1&2 as per the mobo book duel channel mode arrangement. CPUZ will verify that your in duel channel mode.

I hope you don't mind me replying to this thread but it hasa a lot of my problems in it.
I have just bought an NF980-G65 mob., with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 (Deneb 4c)
3.2 GHz, DDR3-1333, 2 MB L2, 6 MB. I also bought the G-skill 1600 ram, I was a bit put of when it came as it was for an Intel pro, as stated previous.
I have it set up with two Nvidia 7800gt G.cards.
I installed a new hard drive W.Dig. 650gb black. when I tried loading win7 64 i kept getting a blue screen with various faults on it.
It would work as far as the grey line "loading windows" and even the logo but would then crash.
The amazing thing is that i put my old hardrive back in and it booted up as 32bit win7 and loaded the drivers.
this seemed to work until i tried to install a game and it crashed again all i saw was a quick message about "memory"
needles to say i have returned the g-skill ram as that was the only thing not in the mob recommended ram.
I am with any ram now and I'm having difficulty finding somewhere that has a stock of recommended ram i.e.
Patriot PGS34G1600LLKA, GeIL GV34GB1600C8DC, or lots of very expensive Kingston. £100 is about my limit.
Any way that said, as you are running G-Skill ram do you think i had another problem?

Only post when I press the reset button - MSI NF980-G65

Start-up issues, when i powered on I have to hit the reset button every time to get it to post properly. How do I fix this? This seems to be the ONLY problem.

you can try with 1 memory stick only in 1st dimm close to cpu socket.
apply memory voltage recommended by memory vendor.

Since the memory controller is in the CPU itself... in order to reach speeds upwards of around 1750Mhz.. you must lower cpu core temp...2000Mhz clock speeds are possible at ~ -30*C to -35*C but are not that common.
Please check/reference hwbot.org for information regarding your motherboard+ram combination and clock speeds achieved. (All submitters are required to have a cpu-z link as well as multiple screen shots to show system info and settings)

Does NF980-G65 take ECC/Registered RAM?

I know that it's not on the official list of tested, supported RAM, but does the NF980-G65 accept any ECC/Registered RAM modules? I can't find information on them anywhere. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Your board does not support Registered ECC RAM. You have to use unregistered non-ECC RAM.
