  • Canon printer wont print PDF and Word files... sometimes.

I face a very special problem with my iMac and my Canon printer (Pixma MG5350): Since a few weeks, the printer wont print most PDF files correctly, the same with existing Word files. A blank or blurred sheet is coming out of the machine. But: When I create a brand new Word file and fill it with text, the printer prints it clean and neat. The same with the official Canon test prints – no troubles at all. I have also tried to sort out the problem with the help from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147?viewlocale=de_DE, without success. Glad about every help!

My next suggestion would be to try an alternate driver to the Canon.
There is the Gutenprint v5.2.9 suite which is free and lists the MG5300 series as a supported model. You could download and install this driver suite and add the Gutenprint MG5300 driver and see if this gives you the same problem.

  • My printer wont print because I can't find the right password on (re)set-up. What should I do?

I"m running windows 8 (I think) and my printer wont print from my computer on the wireless function.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and updatuing but none of this seems to help.  What should I do now.

    Hi @mfk8
I am not sure I understand, what password are you looking for? Is the printer still on the wireless network? Perhaps the following document will be helpful; 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print.

  • HT3500 I am using Mac 10.4.11 and I am having a problem when my printer wont print what I tell it too. Please Help

I am using Mac 10.4.11 and I am having a problem when my printer wont print what I tell it too. Please Help!

A warm welcome to Apple discussions!
A 2003 iMac cannot support Snow Leopard 10.6; you'd need an Intel processor and that cannot be retrofitted to your Mac. What does "About this Mac" in your Apple menu say  for your processor speed? What does it say about how much RAM you have?
If the processor is 1ghz or faster, you can run OS 10.5; otherwise, you are maxed out at 10.4.11.
Also, are you running any commercial ("pay for") anti-virus or security software? They are notorious for slowing most Macs to a fraction of their speed potential.
A too-full hard drive can drag down performance, especially if you don't have a lot of physical RAM installed. If you single-click your hard drive icon and then do command i, you'll see the disk usage. Looks like this:
The value for "Used" should be no more than about 90 percent of "Capacity." In the example image, that drive has about 34 percent of its space used and 66 percent free--more than enough. Please post what you see for your Capacity and Used numbers
There are a few more things we might check but this is a good start.
    Awaiting your information,
    Allan

  • HP ENVY 4500 Printer Windows 10 printer wont print

I have a HP ENVY 4500 all in one printer.  I did the windows 10 inplace upgrade. Now th printer wont print.  I dont think this is a driver issue.I get an error saying the printer is off line.  My WIFI is connected and working great. When I look at internet connections in my area My printer shows up on that list, and ask for a security code.  I think it asking for a password for the printer.I have never set one up. (FYI) I had been using this printer with Windows 8.1 andIt worked great before the windows 10 upgrade.  Do I need to set up a password for this printerTo make it work.  By the way This computer is a Dell Insperon about a year and a half old.I need to print Please Help.Thank youEarl

I managed to fix this issue by myself.
After hours of trying everything HP suggested on other forums with no avail I simply turned everything off (including the PC and Printer) and left it for half an hour.
Then I turned the printer on but turned the wireless off. I then tried to print the same document from the PC (which came up with an error saying my printer needed a connection to complete) turned the wireless back on via the printer and it works!
Quite disappointed I seem to be having so many problems with the ENVY after all its recommendations, hopefully the issue will not return.

  • Printer wont print due to curent printer setup

This just started happening.   says cannot  print due to current printer setup

    Hi @swanie3
I would be happy to help you correct the issue, and get you printing. What operating system, and version do you have? Mac or Windows?
If you have a Windows operating system, running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Printer wont print. have new ink. trouble help say it ok but its not ok

I HAVE A HPPHOTO SMART C5180 ALL IN ONE PRINTER. IT JUST STOP PRINTING SO I CHECK THE INK REPLACE IT WITH NEW INK AN NOW IT JUST WONT PRINT I TROUBLE SHOOT IT AN IT SAY ITS OK BUT IT STILL DONT PRINT . I ALLSO REPLACE IT WITH NEW PAPER AN IT STILL DONT WORK

If resetting the que fails try deleting the printer and reinstalling (delete and allow your mac to find it again). This has worked for me in the past when I had trouble with the que.
If that fails you can search the HP website for a OS-X compatible driver for this printer model and try using that instead of the pre-installed driver selected by OS-X.
Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

  • Printer wont print word documents

I have had my printer/scanner for nearly a year now, it seems to print anything except a word document. I have both word 13 and notebook on my system. It wont print from either program, I am wondering whether this printer comes with these programs in the softwear? If yes any ideas how to sort the problem?

    Hello sasaone2one,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some issues when attempting to print from Word.
Have you by chance checked to see if any updates are available for Word?  Not having all the updates can cause the printer not to function on Word documents.
I also suggest that you try the following link for the HP Deskjet 2540 series Firmware Update.
Feel free to write me back at any time if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • SOLUTION: for printer wont print using black ink cartridge. ETC.

Black ink wont print in low resolution, you can't use high resolution if you selected plain paper. Choose "hp premium paper", even if you use cheap paper. Default Quality for this is "Best" but "Best" ONLY works IF you select a quality paper, such as "hp premium paper".
It's a software fault, there should be no option for plain paper for black only printing.
    Hope this helps a few!
    Andy

If HP Premium photo paper is selected the printer will print black using the color cartridges since pigmented black ink is not compatible with photo paper.  The printer will print much more slowly in photo mode and will put more ink than is intended on the page.
If black is not printing when you print a nozzle pattern from the printer then likely there is an issue with the printhead or the ink delivery system between the ink supplies and the printhead.

  • I have a 6520 that says its connectedwirelessly but the printer wont print now

    Hi,
I have a HP6520 that worked for about a day when I got it, then THe printer would become disconnected (from devices and printers ((turn gray)) what I had to do was turn the printer off, then back on, and i could get a few documents through (about 10mins) then it would stop working.
I thought I got wise and stopped my file sharing and quit my home network thinking there could be an open port or something that a hacker could get into.
The printer worked great for about 2 days, but now  It says the printer is connected from the printer side (I printed the test sheet) and the greyed out icon in documents and printers is light up again. but I cant get the firmware update to find the printer, nad the printer quit printing
On the bright side, I got Docx files to print using my eprint.. go figure?

    Hi Merdock,
Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1?
The share mode turned off can cause issues in Windows 8/8.1, such as you describe.

  • The printer wont print on photo paper why is that

The printer keeps printing on paper instead of photo paper

How are you sending the print job, and what file type are you trying to print? I know airprint and eprint base the paper type on what file type is printing. If its from a computer you will have to specify in the print settings what paper to use.

  • Printer wont print: "HP Smart Web Printing is not compatible with FF 37.0.1" Also, I can't fill forms with Robo Form

    No details needed

I understand that the message gives that Firefox does not support the printer giving issues as well as Robo Form is not filling in forms for Firefox.
Please consider the troubleshooting steps suggested:
    *[[Fix printing problems in Firefox]]
As for the addon/extension I can recommend trying Safe Mode to see if there is an issue with one of the add ons, or disable each of the extensions to troubleshoot what might be interacting with this feature.

  • HP 5180 printer wont print to photo tray - tiger software

For some reason the printer will not recognize that I am trying to print a photo (even when photo paper is selected in print menu in iphoto)
i uninstalled the software that came with the printer and reinstalled the software upgrade for tiger from the HP website but still no joy.
What could I be missing ? Is there a way of determining if I uninstalled all of the old software- could that be the issue ? , is there some other manual fix out there ?

This does actually get a little easier with iPhoto '08 and Leopard (but even there it's by no means easy). What you need to do in Tiger with iPhoto 6 is click the advanced button, then select the Paper Type/Quality item from the pop-up menu in the print dialog, then from Paper Source select Photo Tray. (Sorry, I don't have this setup anymore, so the wording may not be exact.)
    Just trying to help.
