Handling attachments of the form
Hello All
I have a scenario where the pdf form has to be emailed to a particular person along with its attachments. I know how to get the pdf form from the process flow (I can use render pdf service).
But how can you get the attachments associated with that pdf form ? so that along with the pdf i can attach the files which are attached to the form.
Thanks
Deepak
Hello pgurett,
Thanks for your valuable comments. But still the functionality is not working.
Let me explaing the steps i followed:
1. Created 2 process variables
OtherAttachmentsList - Type list - subtype Document
OtherAttachmentsMap - Type map - subtype Document
2. On the Assign task, under Attachments and Notes, I have set the output attachment variable to OtherAttachmentList
3. Before renderPDF, on the Setvalue control i have assigned OtherAttachmentsMap = OtherAttachmentsList.
You have told to convert from list to map. How i have to do? I'm simply assigning as above.
4. On the RenderPDF form control, under attachments, i have set the variable as OtherAttachmentsMap
Now the process is getting stalled at the RenderPDF form step and the exception it is giving is:

Attachments are missing in form later when you view the form
Hi All,
we have developed the application with webdynpro java with adobe interactive forms, we have implemented adding attachment to adobe form . I have two problems related to adobe attachments.
1) once files are attached to form and submitted the form data. Later when you view same form , if you look at the attachments . Files are available. But in the same webdynpro form where the adobe form is rendering has back button.
Once you click on the back button and again if you display the same adobe form and try to look at the attachments. But attachments are missing. the attachments not able to see till i close that browser and open the the application in new browser. Some thing causing the issue click on back button and try to revisit the same adobe form to see the attachments in file.
2) Another problem is file names with attachments. once files are attached to form and submitted the form data. Later when you view same form again attachments are missing. In case, if any of the file name have the special characters like " %, $, &". for example if i attached three files to form , but only one of the file names has the special characters, then the whole three files are missing when you look at the attachments in the form.
Please let me know what could be the issue. How to resolve it.
One quick solution for the 2nd problem is , Prompting the user with warning message, while attaching any files to form have the special characters to file name. what is the logic need to be write, where need to write.
Please answer to thisJohn,
thanks for the reply, can Please elaborate your question.
How i will add the attachments to the form means, we have online forms for submit the data , while submitting the data , all the relevant documents or files related to request will be attached to the adobe form , click on attache icon available in adobe form.
thanks

Adding attachments to PDF form
I tried everything and looked everywhere and can't find the best solution to this problem. I just need a way for the user to attach documents to a PDF form in Adobe Reader. I have access to LiveCycle and Acrobat so is there way once the extended features are enabled for a user to add attachments to the form in Reader. I have LiveCycle ES 8.2.1. I guess the only possible way is when the user emails the form they can add the attachments then but I just want to see if it can be done by attaching to the actual form.
Hi Roy,
I can't test now, but I've had Paul's example working on a Mac before in Acrobat.
If you are using Reader on the Mac (or Windows), then the form would need to be Reader Enabled using LC Reader Extensions ES on the server.
If you have Reader Enabled the form in Acrobat, then the ability to attach files is not available to users with Reader.
See a summary here: http://assure.ly/etkFNU.
Hope that helps,

Adobe Reader users able to add attachments to a form?
I am currently developing a form for other users that have Reader. Is it possible for the Reader users to provide attachments within the form I developed when submitting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think it has something to do with the way the value of the check box is exported, but I'm not sure. With nothing being exported to Data5, Data6 displays the sum of Data1-4 rounded down to the nearest whole number and updates automatically as Data1-4 are updated.
Right now, assuming Data1-4 are 0, where data 5 is the output of the second example and any box is checked, "1" is displayed in data5 but nothing is added to data 6. Selecting any other check box or deselecting that check box will cause data6 to add 1 even if data5 displays "0". By way of example:
Selecting Check box 16 results in Data5 displays 1 and Data6 displays zero.
Then, if any or all of Checkbox17-20 are selected, Data5 displays 1 and Data6 displays 1.
Then, if any or all of Checkbox17-20 are deselected, Data5 Displays 1 and Data6 displays1.
Then, if Checkbox16 is deselected, Data5 displays 0 and Data6 displays 1. -
Error management in an event handler in a powershell form
Hi guys
I wrote a powershell form using event handler. It ask for a name and a IP adress and other things
In the event handler,
- if the user leave the name blank, I open a message box saying it should not be empty
- if the user enter a wrong ip adress, I open a message box saying it should be like x.x.x.x
If both occurs, it displays 2 message box.
But I would like to display only the first message box of the first error and then exit the handler, to avoid displaying many messages.
How to exit from a handler and stay in the form (not like the cancel button handler which close the form with a form.close() statement)
I tried break statement or exit without success
thanks
MLHi guys
This is the code I wrote today. I may give also the full code of the interface, but it reach 1300 lines.
$Retry variable lets me control the first error in the interface to display the message box.
It's not finished yet, I need to add something like "formclose" if $Retry is false.
I use semicolons because for me, it's easier to read :-).
I'm sorry I don't understand the explanation in your link.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.componentmodel.canceleventargs%28v=vs.110%29.aspx
What would happen if I type
$_.Cancel = $true
instead of $Retry = 1, it will exit immediately from the handler ? I can't try now, I'm came back home
Thanks

Attachments on the Request Form
Attachments on the Request Form
I know you can add file attachments in the initial customer request by selecting the Add and Review Order button and attaching a file on the Order Review form. But is there a way to have a file attachment button on the request form that will attach a file to the serivce request the same way?
We are using RequestCenter 2007_1
thanks
CMHHere is an approach:
1. Implement something like this on the file server:
http://www.pscode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=7361&lngWId=4
(We use an inhouse version of this)
I would change this script to post back the file name to the parent window as well as some naming/size validations, etc ...
2. Call the file upload functionality from your service fo -
Check the attachments in PDF Form
I am currently working on a offline interactive form wherein the requestor is supposed to attach a file to his pdf Form before submitting. Now my requirement is to check if there is an attachment with the form(offline) on the click of the submit button.
If attachment is not there pop up an error messages "No attachements'.
Help is greatly appreciated ...Hello
var oObj = event.target;
var fileAttachments = oObj.dataObjects;//dataObjects returns all dataObjects(attachments)in the pdf
if(attachmentsList.length > 0) { ... }
also search at google, you´ll find a page by Mr. Cameron where you can find the whole attachments demo solution.

I am saving my form as a PDF. In the form I have an attachment field included. However when I try to use the attachment "Select File" I am getting an error. saying the file attachment in not supported in the formPDF. Is there a way to do this with the PDF form?
PDF forms currently do not support attachments. You would have to distribute the form as a web form to get that functionality.

Any session scope form handler out of the box in atg commerce
Is there any session scope form handler out of the box in atg commerce. Let me know if anyone is aware of such form handler.
Thanks,
SantoshSearch based formhandlers are some that come to my mind
CategorySearch (/atg/commerce/catalog/CategorySearch (DCS))
CatalogSearch(/atg/commerce/catalog/CatalogSearch (DCS))
ProductSearch(/atg/commerce/catalog/ProductSearch ((DCS))
Incidentally i think all of them point to SearchFormHandler
Few others i can this of are
GiftListFormHandler
CompareSkusFormHandler (deprecated i guess)
CatalogSearchFormHandler (Extension of SearchFormHandler class)
There could be many more , updates / additions will be nice
adding
AdvProductSearch
ProductTextSearch

How are attachments handled when submitting a form
If a user attaches a file to a PDF form, can the attachment be submitted to a database or spreadsheet? Does the attachment need to be extracted from each form individually?
When submitting, there are a number of quite different possibilities. I'll discuss the file attachments that can be attached as comments since we were discussing them in a different thread.
You can set up a submit form action to include the entire document (PDF) or just the form data and comments (annotations). In order to include the file attachments, you need to use either FDF or XFDF. You'd then have to be able to have some means to extract the attachments from the data files.
If submitting as "HTML", there's a different method that you have use that conforms to RFC 1867, which is nice because it allows you to take advantage of code that used to process HTML forms. It's a more complicated setup on the form since the form needs a text field for each file that will be uploaded.
Once the server gets the data it can do whatever it wants with it. This is a big subject and really beyond the scope of these forums. Probably the simplest method is to store the files securely on the server. -
Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).
Problem - SFDC does not create cases from emails that have more than 10 MB of attachments. Our clients will not go-live if their clients cannot send in emails with attachments over 10 MBs
Potential resolution - Configure MS exchange to strip off the attachments(if over 10 MB) and store it in a public folder, forward the email to Salesforce (so the case gets created or the email
is associated to an existing case), the client should have some way to know if the attachments were stripped off and should be able to dlownload the attachments and continue with case resolution.
Any help is appreicated!
ThanksHi,
From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.
Hope my clarification is helpful.
Best regards,

Adobe Creative Cloud Muse: Why I don't receive anymore the email from the forms I created in several websites?
Hello Sanjit,
thank you for replying.
I had the problem on this website, I have two forms, one simple and the other more sofisticated:
www.oeso.org
(at the bottom I have a simple contact form) and
I created also a form on www.oeso.org/new-membership.html
but i didn't receive any reply so
I put the form on my website (architecturevisualdesign.ch) in a hidden form:
http://architecturevisualdesign.ch/oeso-new-membership.html
and here I receive the OESO New Membership Form Submission reply.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Nicole

Icons are not visible when the form is run
I develop a form with only a push button. I developed form using oracle 10DS. I have saved my form in application server. To see an icon in my button, i did the following things:
1. In application server i made a jar named test.jar. It consists of just two gif images.
2. I copied this jar in application server's \forms90\java directory
3. I configured formsweb.cfg file as the following.
4. my \form90\java\oracle\forms\registry\registry.dat is as the following.
whenever i run form i can not see icon but in client's oracle jar cache jar is downloaded.

# formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (f90servlet)
# This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
# following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
# values here will be used.
# The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
# which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
# Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
# SYSTEM PARAMETERS
# These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
# Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
# string. But they can be overriden in a named configuration (see below).
# Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
# they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
# is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
# USER PARAMETERS
# These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
# may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
# (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/servlet/f90servlet?form=myform&width=700")
# or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)

I tried many times. But could not be successful. Then I just kept my icons in
\forms90\java directory without making jar. In my form, icon file name is the icon name without extension. Here, i can see my icon in button. but if i replace an icon
without changing the name of the icon, then i always see the old icon. The new icon, i can not see.
Please, help me with only Oracle 10g AS how i can see icon in button. Let's assume, there is not oracle 10g DS (any development tool) in the machine where the form is run.
Please, guide me clearly step by step so that i might be successful.
Thanks.
TKARIMThanks Bernard,
It works fine with JInitiator but not working with
the JPI. For JPI what settings I need to do ??hi TKARIM and Bernard, i am having similar problem even with the Bernard's recommended setup. could you post the webutiljini.htm (i presume you are using config=test) ?
i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?
Thx and Regards

How do I reorder the form results from a non-BC form in Muse?
I have a problem with Muse, in that the emails that get delivered from filled-in forms have various fields in the wrong order and not the order that the fields appear in the actual form.
How do I ensure the form results emails maintain the order of the fields in the form?
For example, on the www.actconstruction.com Subcontractors form, several of the fields are wildly out of order. Here's a screen capture of the form results email:
Here's the form as it appears on the site. You can see the fields are in completely different order to the results emai:
So, how do I make sure the fields follow a particular order that I want them to (i.e. in the order I placed them in the form itself)?
The form can be seen at www.actconstruction.com/contact-us.html. This shows the actual order of information. The form results email should follow the order exactly as shown on the web site.
I've had complaints from clients about this and need to handle it immediately. Please have someone get back to me with a figure-out.
Many thanks,
Len Williams
